Yeah, I was yesterday driving home from work. I was really zoned out, and I did something really, really stupid. And I just want to say I would like to take Mojo's spot as the worst driver on this show. Oh, that's hard to do. Thank you. That is very nice of you. That is hard, too. I'm going to want to be here. So I was driving home, and as you guys know, I drive a big Silverado, and I kind of zoned out. I was listening to a podcast, and I saw this barrier, and I'm like, that looks like it's closed off, but it also does not. There's no sign that says you can't go on, so I'm just going to go. And I don't even know which direction I was heading. That's how bad of a driver I am. And I think I was going eastbound 696. And you guys know how messed up that road is right now. Oh, so much construction right now. So bad. And I pull up and I realize that I'm being followed by gravel trucks and other construction workers. And I realized that I was whipping right through a closed lane on 696. Like it was, oh my gosh, do I start panicking now? Do I turn around and go back the other way? Nope, I'm going to keep going. and I'm just going to keep driving by the guys eating lunch. Oh, my God. What did they do when you were driving by them? Honestly, they were just, like, going about their life.

Could you read it all the way through? I don't think they realized I was a— Did you have to turn around?

No, I went— You guys, I made it home so fast, I beat the traffic. Wait. So, again, if you—

It's like a shortcut. If you're just tuning in, you drove right through their construction barriers, and you drove right by them while they were just driving, Yep. And they thought that you were probably the construction company.

Yep. They're like, oh, there's a broad driving that thing.

There's a broad. Going through the construction zone. Dude, 696 almost kills me every single day. She could have killed someone. I could have killed myself. But what I'm saying is it's so confusing, though. Like, where you can merge, where you can't. There's no forewarning. There is no forewarning. It's really bad. I felt like an idiot, though.

Mike and Megan, there's the ramp to get on to 696, the highway that's out here by the radio station in Detroit. That ramp that you go off of Orchard Lake Road, all of a sudden you're driving the ramp. Next thing you know, there's cars on your ass that are flying, going like 70 miles an hour because there's no merge lane.

Yeah. So I drive that a lot. And I've never gone into the construction area and almost hit someone. And I'm not from there

about paying attention in life and being on top of your habits. I'm like, I am driving through a construction zone right now. But if I had a truck like yours, I would do that all the time. Luckily, the car was so nice. They're like, turn around, turn around.

That happens so much in downtown Grand Rapids because the streets are so weird here. And they're all one ways. So, like, you'll see people probably three or four times a day going the wrong way on the road. And then once they've driven part of the way down the road and you tell them, they're like, I don't care. I ain't turning around. I'm just going to where I got to go. I don't care.

I have to tell you, sometimes, like, the apps will tell you to turn. yes down a one way and if you're not paying attention it like you yeah just do it because

this is misfit ron the guy that called us up and uh was telling us some some fun a fun story last

week right ron i have i have a lot of stories okay so my my construction story is as by the farm where we work they were doing construction on the road on um piter or ellis so basically to go the way i would have had to go would have been a big detour so i drove through the construction area Yeah, and this is when it was, like, dirt and, like, two tracks and hills. And when I was driving through the construction zone, I was, like, two tracking. And the car, like, kind of, the bumper kind of bottomed out, and it ripped the, like, hitch cover off. And when I got to Menards, I realized it was gone. So then I had to drive all the way back through the construction zone to go get the hitch cover.
