My name is Neterika Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

Mojo in the morning, I feel like there's an apartment cloud over KP. Maybe KP needs to go back home with mom.

Well, I was thinking maybe I should go back and live with Graham and Gramps. I really missed that. Oh my God, I felt so bad for you yesterday.

It's the way that you left them that has got God saying, all right, KP, we're sending you back to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

The way that I left my grandparents?

Yeah, you know, they were kind of like loving you being there and stuff like that.

I was loving being there. Are you kidding me?

The old senior citizen home or senior citizen community. Do you ever go back and visit them and the old neighbors come out and say hi to you?

The one neighbor next door does, yeah. The others stay inside unless it's gardening season.

I do miss them. Well, KP had an issue happen last night. And it always happens late like this. What happened to you?

I got home and my key fob wasn't unlocking. So I got inside the building, but my actual apartment door was not opening. And I didn't know what to do. So I called the apartment. It went right to voicemail and it said, actually, I recorded it because I was so shocked. It literally said, if you are here for lockout issue, call locksmith. And it hung up. And I'm like, what do you mean call a locksmith? This is like, don't apartments have 24-hour maintenance? Shouldn't all apartments have? If a resident gets locked out, in this instance, I didn't lose my key. Legit, the key fob wasn't opening. It was literally blinking red. I'm like, how am I supposed to get in? How is a locksmith supposed to get in this? And I ended up getting a hold of a locksmith. He showed up. This guy looks like he's from Timu. if amazon had a service to unlock doors it would be this guy because he came in he was sweating profusely like this guy who's like it looked like he was like maybe 23 years old his he's got his shoes were like untied he's got all of his kit like he's he's literally goes up to my door and he starts banging on it with a hammer and then he rips apart the key fob actual key fob and then this guy pulls out a saw a saw it is 9 30 and he is sawing and i have a video actually sent to the chat because there were sparks i felt like i needed a welding mask just just to watch him do this oh my god and i didn't send this video to you guys last night this is a new one what look Wait, he literally cut your door out.

it's like your woodworking class i know so this is this is the guy this is the guy sawing your uh

doing kp no no this guy looks like he knows what he's doing but he looks like he's robbed a few of

these homes look at him sweating look at this the beads of sweat coming down oh my god what was the

guy's uh first name you know i can't remember guido or something miguel miguel this guy this guy looks like he is going in on this house like like he is uh he's gonna look for right away for

the valuables you know what he told me i was like so uh what did you do before you were a locksmith and he's like oh i used to do illegal stuff thank god you had to spare to my temporary key to my

apartment complex like this guy's coming in so you have go back you have a key fob like like you have at a um hotel like one of those type things you just wave it in front of it exactly and that's

how you get into your apartment exactly and i knew this was going to be a problem because there's no actual key key like if you get if that breaks for some reason you have no way if the power goes out too what happens in that case exactly there's no there's no solution and then i was just shocked like that the answer to the lockout solution was call locksmith that's crazy that's crazy like that's right too high for that oh absolutely for sure and then i get a call so i i ended up finding a phone number from somebody that works there like that wasn't provided it was something i literally found and i'm like hey i don't know what to do i'm locked out and then i get a call from the uh leasing lady an hour after i told them i was locked out and she's like i'm on my way I'm going to reset it for you. I'm like, I'm sorry. This T-Mu locksmith already ripped apart my door. And she's like, oh, it's $600. You shouldn't have done that. I'm like, well, I shouldn't have been locked up.

Nikki, what did you want to say?

I was just going to say, KP, better not get in charge for that damn door damage. I had to pay the locksmith. And you know what this guy said? He had to have someone come. I said to him, now, are you going to bill me or can you just bill the apartment? And I'll give the address to the apartment, bill them. He's like, no, I need payment on site. I'm like, all right, I'm going to Venmo you. Can you send me a receipt? And he's like, can I charge you more? Because you're going to ask for a refund from the apartment. And I'm like, no.

I don't know if they're going to give me a refund. No, no, no.

What the fuck with that? Yeah.

You're exactly like my husband.

The one time I called a locksmith, he straight up told me, because I locked my purse inside. And he was like, I have to verify that it's your house when you get in. And you have to pay me right away. And if you don't, I'll relock this house. And I'll relock you out. I went, fair enough. Fair enough. It is my house. I will pay you. But I understand fully. He was like, I know how to lock you back out.

You know what blows my mind about this? That the fact that there are, I've never had to use a locksmith before. I didn't know that they were 24 hours. Oh, yeah. You can hire somebody to just come out and show up with a toolbox.

I locked myself out in shorts when it was 15 degrees outside.

Why is it that you always lock yourself out in inclement weather situations like that? Or late at night?

It's the worst. It was late at night, inclement weather, and it was me and my dog standing there. And I was like, well, I've done it. I've killed us. I've killed us slowly.

Somebody explain to me why things at your home don't ever break like at noon on a Tuesday. Exactly. They always, it's always, something like this is Sunday night or something like that.

And this morning, the temporary lock was jammed. So I had to ram myself into the door to get it to open. I literally had to get out of my apartment this morning.

Oh, geez. By the way, you know what the funniest part of this whole story would be? KP just told us, and by the way, I was at the wrong apartment floor. I was like, maybe I am at the wrong apartment door.

I'm like, that's something I would do. My neighbor actually invited me in. I met my neighbor. Did you? Yeah, they were like, well, he came by with his, he was taking out the trash, and I was sitting on the ground. And I'm like, hey, what's up? And he's like, what's going on? I'm like, I'm locked out. Get ready for it to happen in your room, too. And his girlfriend came out and was like, you want to have a drink with us? Come inside. So we had a glass of wine. That's so nice. And I was like, hey, when this happens to you guys, which is probably, it's inevitable. You can come into my apartment and we can have a, I'll give you a glass of wine.

Did we know what the problem was? Was it just like a malfunction or something like that?

Yeah, it was just a malfunction. I mean, I feel like that's something the apartment should tell you before you have a lockout issue. Like if you experience this, don't rip your lockout of your wall. Don't have the T-Move guy get a saw and weld it shut.

I've done this at my house where it's like, do I break a window? You know, because I don't have, like I use my garage door to basically get in and out. And if that's down, I got no way to get in. And it's one of those ones where you're like, do I break a small window? Then I got to fix the window or, or do I pull out like one of those law and order SVUs and like kick a door down? Could you imagine me trying to kick a door down?

That'd be funny. We would need video. I don't know if I can get my foot up there. What's up, Al? Hi.

Oh, nothing. I just kind of had a comment on that. I know you guys were asking questions, and it's kind of been something that's changed in the industry a while ago. Are you a locksmith? No, I'm not a locksmith. I've been doing apartment maintenance and been in the industry for quite a while. And the reason why they went away from that is a security liability issue because the typical on-call maintenance guy, does not have the ability to access the system, and some of that stuff is secure information as far as leaseholders and all that goes. Oh, okay.

So they'd rather me hire the T-Boo locksmith that comes in from next door from a Google ad that I called? Yeah, that's bad.

I didn't make the rule, but some of the reasoning behind this is this has happened actually in the real world where, let's say there's been a domestic situation and the boyfriend is not allowed to live there, but they haven't changed their ID. They've gotten let out of jail or whatever. They call on-call maintenance and the maintenance staff lets them in.

Oh, God, that makes so much sense.

The boyfriend could have called a last minute, too.

But no, but he's saying that they don't want to let you in unless the person knows that you are for sure. Amanda, what's going on?

hey good morning guys how are you good what's up so i unfortunately uh kp you're gonna need to read your lease because it most likely says in there that if you get locked out and you damage the door that you're gonna have to pay for the damages um unfortunately they usually have some type of clause in there because they know that it can be an issue not that that's right but as an apartment manager i always tell people like reread your lease what would you do then what would you do if you were her late at night like that um if i was her i probably would not have called the locksmith unfortunately i would have probably stayed with somebody because right or wrong like i'm not saying it's right that they would do that to you but um they'll probably charge you

i mean i'm not going to leave my pet locked in my apartment oh yeah no way to be considerate because you know what if i had a family or medication to take or cats or dogs that need will be let out you know well cats don't need to be let out but yeah i don't know it was a tough

situation what am i supposed to do teresa what happened well my husband and i we were dating at the time uh our ac broke in our unit and i had called someone to come fix it and they're fixing it and they're fixing they can't figure it out and they're about to drill a hole through the concrete into like the wall to kind of feed the unit and my husband got home and he was like oh my god that's not our ac unit like what are you doing it was what a neighbor's ac unit yeah so they were like disconnecting all this stuff on our neighbor's ac unit about

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees.
