Mojo in the morning, five lies to tell your mom. Coming up, also, this is your home of the War of the Roses, the Dirty on the 30 throwback throwdown. This is like my worst nightmare. My worst nightmare happened to KP this morning, our producer. When you wake up, look at the clock, and I'm assuming your alarm clock is your phone, right?

00:02:14 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 6:

Yes, it is.

00:02:16 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 4:

And you notice that the time is not the time that you should be waking up, But the time you probably should be in the car

00:02:23 - 00:02:53 | Speaker 6:

Literally sitting at work Or sitting at work Is that what happened? And you know what, it's funny because I was just thinking Wow, I've been so good About not sleeping through work That's what I did yesterday, my exact thought Because I was listening to some of our old shows And I was listening to one about when Megan did this Way, way long ago And I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm so proud Nope, life is like, nope Today, today's your day What time did you actually wake up 5.33

00:02:53 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 4:

What were you going to say Megan You were going to say don't throw me under the bus right Is that what you're saying Absolutely

00:02:58 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 6:

Because I want her to know The episode you're referring to happened six years ago Exactly And that's what I said a while ago Because I didn't want Megan to get into this too Because I had a really good topic And you guys scheduled I overslept over that topic

00:03:12 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 4:

I was like this must be good No no no no don't worry We'll get to that other topic Because that is a really good topic And that might be the reason why she's late, because it deals with an ex, by the way, coming up later. But here's the interesting thing. The interesting thing is you can't put it out there. If you're somebody that has to wake up early in the morning, obviously you do because you're listening to us right now. But if you have to get up early in the morning, you can't even say the words about what you do. You can't say, and I'll use a totally different thing. hair um my doctors say that uh i am over my limit of not sleeping so i'm not gonna like put them all together in one word because if you put them both together about uh uh then you end up doing it so i'm gonna say that uh it's the worst feeling in the world over i can't even say it i don't even want to say it you say it kp because it happened to you overslept it's the worst yeah it is so bad um any of our listeners ever had that happen to them and then they missed something huge because for you it was you know just a show okay but could you imagine if that happened to you like on friday and it was our one time a year big party we throw i know naughty mom's night out

00:04:36 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 6:

Jingle ball or something like that.

00:04:38 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 4:

Or jingle ball. Can you imagine sleeping through jingle ball?

00:04:40 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 6:

I actually did, remember?

00:04:42 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Wait, hold on. Not the actual jingle ball day, but... Oh, the next day.

00:04:46 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 6:

And the following day.

00:04:47 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 4:

That was the last time that you overslept, right?

00:04:49 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, yeah.

00:04:50 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. Wow. That's the worst feeling in the world. It is. Or has anybody ever overslept through a wedding?

00:05:00 - 00:05:18 | Speaker 5:

or a job interview yeah yeah well i overslept through my college boyfriend's lacrosse college signing i showed up late i'm like hey i'm sorry i overslept just so i felt so bad yeah i got there and i'm like i literally look like i dread dreadful i look dreadful let's get a picture

00:05:18 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 1:

with oh you actually so that was the thing i was gonna ask you because i've not seen you at all because uh you're behind my screens right now let me let me see it real quick you can't look

00:05:25 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 5:

you look like you showered did you shower yeah i did actually well not this morning and last night I went to the gym last night I find that when I go to the gym And I stay until like 8 or something Then I tend to be really overtired The next day Because I normally fall asleep at like I would say like 10, 30, 11 Which is not good I have a terrible sleep schedule But I get out of the gym at like 8, 15 And my body I feel like is just so tired from that And I wake up this morning and I'm like stiff And super

00:05:54 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 1:

I can never do any kind of exercise at night because I can't fall asleep for some reason. I have a hard time falling asleep. I know a lot of people say that they sleep like babies. Why can't you do exercise during the day? Because I could fall asleep. Got me. Morgan, what's going on?

00:06:14 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

Hey, long-time listener, first-time caller. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Morgan. Yeah, when I was in high school, I worked at Dairy Queen, and I lived right by, so I would walk to work because I didn't even have my driver's license yet. And I overslept for one of my shifts, and my coworkers ended up walking to my house and, like, pounding on my back door. I was sleeping on the couch. What was the scariest thing of my whole entire life?

00:06:38 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man. Everybody needed to have their Dairy Queen. So, obviously, that was a middle-of-the-day type of a sleep because Dairy Queen doesn't open up early, does it?

00:06:45 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, right. It was, like, right after school or something. Yeah.

00:06:49 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 1:

That's my biggest fear time of having it happen to me because I end up falling asleep on the couch, And I've had situations where I've had to set, like, five alarms knowing that we got something going on that night or I've got to be at, you know, my son's school. What's going on, Michelle?

00:07:06 - 00:07:28 | Speaker 4:

Well, I overslept through a scheduled surgery. Oh, gee. Oh, gosh. Yes, I was supposed to be to the hospital at 6 a.m. I was having my gallbladder removed. The surgery was at 8, and I woke up at 10. And you did all that prep, too, didn't you? Well, there was just you can't eat or drink for the null bladder.

00:07:28 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

I know, but doesn't that suck? You didn't eat at night.

00:07:33 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 4:

Well, the whole thing sucked. The doctor was ticked. I had to wait two more weeks. But I'm a nurse, and I'm like, I can't tell you how many times people have 8 o'clock surgery scheduled and the doctor rolls in at 9. I'm like, my time's just as valuable as theirs, and they show up late because whatever. Not that that's why I overslept.

00:07:50 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 1:

No, that's a very good point. I wonder if that's ever, you know, if you're saying the doctor on purpose is not showing up, but I wonder if the doctor's ever overslept. Listen to some of these texters that have come through. I overslept through my college finals, 313 says. They text into us.

00:08:06 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

I have that nightmare all the time.

00:08:08 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 1:

And honestly, you feel like you can never make those college finals up. But that is, by the way, that is a very good nightmare that you get. And even if you're not in school, it comes back to you. This is a wild one. uh line number 20 they overslept through a very big moment for their family what was the moment

00:08:28 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

that you overslept through Ari um I slept through my goddaughter's baptism and goddaughter meaning you were supposed to be there at the baptism yep I uh we went we were in Grand Haven overnight and then we went home late late late late at night and um yeah we woke up to my my sister-in-law basically breaking into our house like where are you everybody thinks you're dead and we were like what oh man so it was pretty crazy we just our phones died and it was totally a misunderstanding

00:08:58 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 1:

and miscommunication but wow uh 734 says i overslept through a criminal court case okay woke up to the cops ready to arrest me because i didn't show that's a big one Oops

00:09:11 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 5:

What'd he say? Sorry

00:09:14 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 1:

By the way, there is still no better oversleeping at all though We talk about it all the time though than calling the TPD the Toledo police to go and barrel down Megan's door

00:09:28 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 4:

Six years ago

00:09:29 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 1:

But you know what though, that's good Knock on wood I'm going to put this out into the universe Don't even say it Carrie, what did you sleep through?

00:09:40 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

my washington dc trip oh my god like as like a middle school kid yes my parents set the alarm and i thought i was going to stay up all night so i felt tired i went and i turned off the alarm which i thought i turned on their alarm yeah

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 1:

And we missed the trip. My dad drove me all the way to Ohio because there's two routes they could take to get to Washington, D.C., and we picked the wrong one.

00:10:08 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 2:

Oh, no. You missed out, dude. What a great dad, though, that he drove you to go meet the bus, huh?

00:10:14 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 1:

All the way. All the way to the Ohio border.

00:10:17 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 2:

Wow. That's unbelievable. That's so sad when you miss out on that opportunity. So what did you do while everybody was in D.C.? Did you just hang at home?

00:10:25 - 00:10:26 | Unknown:

Just hang at home.

00:10:28 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 3:

Cried a little.
