It is amazing. Whenever I do see these people, I've, so I have not done a New Year's where I've done the, oh, I said breakfast come up. I have not done a New Year's. I've not done a New Year's since, you know, like where I've been out at a bar or a club or anything like that and been where they've done, you know, the ball, the ball drops and all the rest of that stuff. probably since Joe was a kid, a baby. I think that was the last time that I did it. And then Chelsea and I made a vow that I would stay home on New Year's to celebrate with the kids, pots and pans, banging them and all the rest of that stuff. I can't even get my wife to stay up with me until, you know, midnight. And my kids don't even want to stay.

Yep, now Luke actually went to bed, I think, right after the Ohio State loss when they missed the field goal. As soon as that happened, I'm, like, trying to kiss. Luke, come on, it's New Year's. It happened right on the dot, and Luke wouldn't even come and give me a kiss.

How old is he? You're probably not cool anymore, Dad.

I'm not cool anymore, although he did hang with me and watch, you know, two horrible football games. But they actually were great football games, but it was a horrible outcome, obviously, for Michigan. But all right, hang on. Hang on the phone for a second and we'll get you set up with your prize.

What if we do this as a show? And I know we could we agree on this now. We'll hate it later. What if we agree that we'll do like a broadcast to celebrate, you know, the the new year and we'll all show up at some like wouldn't it be fun to dress up in like tuxes and nice dresses and things like that.

But at 4 p.m.? But during the day. Yeah. No, I think that's a great idea.

We'll do it at noon. On noon. Yeah. But wouldn't it be kind of fun, though? Like, I saw J Towers was out at the Greektown Casino. And I thought to myself, and first off, they were sitting at a broadcast table. I'm like, that does not look very fun to be out there at a broadcast table. I want to do something where we have a big ballroom. Like, Jingle Ball, you know, was to us, you know, bring an artist in, do something kind of fun like that.

I'm in. I know. But, yeah, we celebrated it like when the ball drops in London or Rome.

Spike's got a bedtime. Right. I just want to say.

Did you guys, did anybody catch CNN's broadcast or were you just watching Ryan?

I flipped over there because I wanted to see if they actually drank.

Okay, so they didn't drink. It was Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper had a dry New Year's, but they said they drank after the fact. a dry, you know, whatever, broadcast. But did you see that Don Lemon missed the countdown to midnight in the Central Time Zone because he was too busy dancing to back that ass up? Worth a mention.

By the way, when Don Lemon's having more fun than us guys, come on.

Seriously, something's wrong.

What is going on? Why is it that nobody wants to do a New Year's fun party? I hate New Year's.

I did my time. The worst holiday. We did all those years in our 20s where we'd go to all the overpat clubs and pay $12 for a house well drink that tastes horrible and you can't even get to the bar and the DJ's playing bad music and you had to pay $80 for parking. It was fun for a minute, but yeah, we're done.

Has anybody ever had a fun New Year's Eve?

I don't know.

Like, I've only ever had bad New Year's Eve.

Yeah, something bad always happens. It never fails.

And expectations are too high. You just set yourself up for failure.

Yeah, I spent my New Year's Eve holding some hair back, so that was- Wait, you were in New York?

You were in New York. I was in New York. Were you in Times Square for the ball drop? No.

So apparently, if you're from New York, you're a local. You don't go anywhere near Times Square. Everyone hates it down there. So KP, you were visiting someone you knew that lived there? Yeah, so I had a friend who I actually met at that Forbes Under 30 event months ago. Yeah. Who was hosting, and she had me come out there, and it was super fun. But yeah, it got a little bit too crunk, some of us. and i was in charge wait a second you're in you're that close to time square you could not

convince this friend let's go because of you know we can get good pictures we were uh we were going

to run down after after the fact and like just like be around the confetti and whatnot but the line to get into time square even just a couple blocks away it was like a it was almost like a riot how many people were out there and it was so hard to just they were blocking the road like That's how many people were trying to get down to Times Square. And people will wait there for 24, 48 hours in a diaper just to get down to Times Square.

I would have went for just the Planet Fitness hats. That's what I would have done.

I'm sure we can get you one of those. Hey, can I bring something up about KP? So I'm down in Tampa, and I saw him just a little bit ago, and I had to have a little conversation. so KP was remember the big thing during Jingle Ball was that there was a romance between KP and Jed from the Joe Show

yes okay that was exactly so KP was making plans to go in to be down in Tampa and be with Jed over the holidays and And I got to golf with Jed, like, I don't know, day number two of me coming down here. And he looks a little, you know, kind of sad, so to speak. And I said to him, I go, hey, so what's the story with KP? And he's like, I really don't want to talk about it. And I go, come on, tell me what's going on.

And he goes, well, you know, we decided, we decided. Whenever I hear a guy say we decided, I know it wasn't him that decided. That means the woman decided. He said, we decided to focus more on our careers and to be better friends because we didn't want to mix business with pleasure. And I go, what the hell is that all about? Then I find out, ready for this? I was the reason why they possibly broke up because KP was afraid that she was going to upset me by dating Jed in inter-office dating. When have you guys ever felt that I would ever be upset by radio drama?

He lives for that.

Right? No, this is a big no-no for me. I came to the conclusion. It was a tough one, but I'm glad, you know, I guess, I don't know if he's okay now, but Jed and I had a very civil conversation about moving forward as friends. And I know people are disappointed. I was getting DMs from listeners about it. They were very upset, actually. Really? What were they saying? Well, they said, well, I actually had a comment on one of my pictures of someone going, you know what? I'm glad that you're in New York, but I really think that you should have just, you know, gone down with Judd and like, love is love, KB. You should just do it. And it was like a very long message. Like, oh my gosh. People are invested. I got so many people because I posted a story of me at the airport.

Oh, I thought for sure you were going to Tampa. Uh-huh.

I was going to reach out to you. But I'm like, I just want to see what's next. Like, what's the next one? Unfortunately.

I think this business is just different. Like, it happens all the time. We know morning show hosts that are married to one another. It's very different than a traditional office setting. I know. No, the long distance thing is the only thing for me. I think otherwise they would have been perfect together.
