When I walked into the building today, I looked around like five or six times at the front door, thinking that KP was going to be standing out there opening the door for us.

I don't know who it was, but I specifically got to work early so I didn't have to see anybody at the door.

If you're not knowing what we're talking about, then go back and listen to the podcast from yesterday where we called out the fact that KP won't hold the door open for us. And when I mean hold the door open, I'm not saying that she has to physically hold it open. It's just that it'd be nice like in the morning to not have to pull out your key card and swipe the key card. So you can go check that out. But you say that you're an old-fashioned kind of girl. Yes, except for the whole door holding thing. It won't do that. But I just recently finished doing something that my mom had ingrained into my head since I was a kid. And I feel like I'm the only one who does this. I don't know, like a handwritten note. I just finished writing all of my thank you notes for my birthday party. And I do this every year. Obviously not a birthday party, but like just if someone gives me a gift or takes me out or thinks of me, I will write them a thank you note.

And when was your birthday, by the way?

March 26th. and you can make fun of me because it's literally me. Oh, okay. I think it's better late than never. You can always be appreciative all the time. And I even, like, when I was writing, I'm like, yeah, it's late, but, like, I can tailor to the notes.

Did your mom used to have you do it as a little kid right when you got the gifts? Because that's what we would do with our boys, and Chelsea's mom would do with her when she was younger.

Well, my mom, yeah. I would be a little more timely with my mom around, but chronic procrastination.

There's no way that if you were having a little girl's birthday party where all your friends came over to your house or you guys had it at, like, Chuck E. Cheese or whatever, that your mom would have let you wait from March 26th to beginning of May to do it.

No, she would have. She had my ass at the table, and I was writing thank you notes for until it was done. But you're busy. I love that.

Yeah, but Mama KP, like, she was very stern on, like, specific things, and writing thank you notes and showing appreciation was one thing. And that has stuck with me ever since. I always write notes and I always feel special when someone gives it to me.

I was going to say, when I go out to my mailbox and I see an actual card or something that somebody wrote, I actually get excited because it's so few and far between now that you get something like that.

What's the old fashioned thing that you still do that's considered to be kind of old fashioned? The handwritten note is actually a really good thing if you're looking for employment or looking to get a better look at employment, nobody ever expects that. And, you know, it's like recently there's like been people that have been up for jobs around here and I was having a conversation with one of the bosses that was hiring for one of the other radio stations and they were saying that the handwritten note actually got that person the job because they figured if they took the time to write and it was not a thank you so much, it was great talking to you, but it was like specifics and like paragraphs, a couple paragraphs. If they were taking that time to do that, they would take the time to do a good job working.
