All right, Mojo in the morning show. What'd you guys do with this weekend? Can we go around the room real quick and talk about what we did over the weekend? I'll start by saying we went to dinner with friends on Friday, and then on Saturday, I took my wife on a date. And we went to a place I've never been to before by our house called Benstein's Grill.

00:01:24 - 00:01:25 | Speaker 4:

I love Benstein's Grill.

00:01:25 - 00:01:26 | Speaker 3:

Have you been there before?

00:01:26 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 4:

All the time, yeah. A lot of it.

00:01:27 - 00:01:30 | Speaker 3:

I had never been there. First off, it's like a mirage in the desert.

00:01:31 - 00:01:34 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. It's not a lot. It's all neighborhoods back there. It's not a lot going on.

00:01:34 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 3:

It's in Commerce Township. And I'm like, wow. And we ordered on DoorDash from there. And I thought, oh, it was pretty good. I said, let's just go. First off, not a great idea to go to on a Saturday night because we walk in. It's like a million cars in the parking lot. And they're like, yeah, it's like a 30-minute to an hour wait. I'm like, is it closer to 30 minutes to an hour? Or which one is it? But we were out there, and there's nothing else around in that area to go to.

00:01:57 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's always packed.

00:01:58 - 00:02:08 | Speaker 3:

We craft beer selection. Did you get the Brussels salad? It's very good. Actually, I did not. I ended up getting this shrimp and grits thing. That was good.

00:02:08 - 00:02:09 | Speaker 4:

I love shrimp and grits.

00:02:09 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 3:

But let me ask you guys a quick question, because this one was like a head scratcher for me. We put our name in and said, all right, we'll put our name in, whatever. Let's just go get some cocktails. And the bar is packed. All right? i don't know what the etiquette is to wanting to order a drink but there's no place to actually get like a drink like there's not like a go walk up area and i am always like weird there's people like sitting there and they're eating or they're drinking you feel awkward and so i'm the guy like i'm sitting there like waving my hand i'm like trying to get my teacher's attention in the back of the classroom and stuff and then finally i just said screw it i got to so he was getting the bartender was getting a guy's drink order so i kind of like you know moved my big fat self up to the guy and excuse me can i get my my wife a drink and i a drink and so i kind of did that and i didn't know if that was a bad etiquette or not the guy was actually really nice and actually you know what it did he ended up going oh you know what we'll wrap up and he ended up giving

00:03:07 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 4:

us his seats nice yeah which was really nice bullied him right out of his seat well done no It's tough to know the etiquette. It depends on the place because Meg and I are big bar sitters. We go to the restaurant and sit at the bar no matter what. We just love sitting there. But there's people, you know, you have to understand if the place is full and crowded, I'll always help people out and get their drink order and stuff. But once we get our meals, do not hover and do not reach over. No, then you've got to move down to someone else on the bar. Don't be trying to wedge your way in when the two of us have plates on it and you're going to be hovering over our dinners. Throw elbows.

00:03:40 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 3:

I kind of did that. It was bad. And I felt awful about doing it, but it was good. It was a good time. How about you guys? What did you guys do this weekend, Spike?

00:03:47 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 4:

Friday night was a movie night. Well, actually, Megan and her son watched while I fell asleep on the couch. You guys saw how that goes. Saturday, went to Detroit Derby Girls downtown, watched them beat each other up on roller skates. Then we went out to dinner with friends. Shout out to Amici's and Berkley's. Always good. Then I went to my old hood for some poker and to watch the Eagles win. And then yesterday, I just did some housework and made a snowman with the little six-year-old. Wow.

00:04:12 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 3:

That's a busy weekend.

00:04:14 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 4:

Busy weekend, yeah.

00:04:17 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 3:

Megan, what did you do this weekend? What's your name?

00:04:20 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 1:

He could have decided who he wanted to ask for. No, no. I guess I'll go with Megan.

00:04:24 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 3:

I'll go with you next. I was going to go KP sitting right next to Spike, but I gave you seniority. You've been here longer than me.

00:04:32 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 6:

Oh, thanks. Appreciate it. You know what I did? I went out to Brewfest. That was happening at Fifth Third Field in Toledo. That's where the mud hens play. That was so much fun. Could not believe how many Detroiters came down for that. That was insane. But as I was out, it was ending. I was texting my dad because he lives downtown. I said, hey, we should get together. He was out at a fancy bar. He already had plans. He was already doing something. So I met up with him so he would foot the bill for my expensive mistress.

00:05:00 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 1:

yes i did then i kicked him to the curb and went back out with my friends again after i got the good drinks you know what speaking of expenses it is so much money to go out for just a simple bar night can i tell you i gotta tell you how much i spent this past weekend please i went out with my friend uh betsy we went out in royal oak we visited that new bar called the double o where hop cat used to be yeah yeah really fun it was packed um but the bar we went to before ended up charging us like a cover we didn't pay because we they still charge cover charges yes the new bar they did charge a cover but the one that we normally go to i'll just throw it out there oh tools we um they told us that there was a cover and then we go in to go get some money out of the atm we come back and they're not charging this entire group of girls cover so we

00:05:48 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 3:

leave wait what do you mean they're not charging the entire group they tried to charge us cover

00:05:53 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 1:

but not the people behind us shut up we're like yeah we've been here a lot that does not happen and we're gonna leave yeah that's discriminatory yes but anyway how much i spent we like not only does it cost money to get the outfit before you go out yeah a lot you gotta get the pre-game beverages from the gas station then you gotta uber yep then two ubers because or not even two probably more than two because you go to different places yeah and then you're in a very low walk around yeah luckily in royal oak you don't need too many ubers it's just to and from but in other places you want to go to like detroit and then switch cities or something so how much money did it cost you with the bill for most of our drinks i ended up spending 85 dollars one night and then she spent 25 should have done dry january bro you know what was the most though the mcdonald's at

00:06:45 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 3:

the end the drunk you know you needed you needed megan's dad yeah real quick go back on something and by the way anybody got questions on any of the stuff we're talking about feel free to call in 844 mojo live um why do you think that they didn't charge the people behind you do they know them or were they were the girls significantly hotter than you guys or what's the story i was

00:07:12 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 1:

I think that both Betsy and I are pretty attractive girls. Yeah, you're very attractive. I don't think that that was the issue. I think it was because Betsy is kind, and she said, oh, is there a cover? I think that bouncer was, like, in his head, oh, we thought books. You know what I'm saying? Because he wanted to pocket it or something. I have no idea. Wow. But that's super lame.

00:07:30 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 3:

Let's get to the bottom of that. I want to know what's the story. Was that at O'Toole's or double O's?

00:07:34 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 1:

The O'Toole's.

00:07:35 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 3:

Oh, okay. Somebody call us up. Tell us. I'm putting the problem solvers on that sucker. Usually only the dumb schlubs like Mojo and I get charged Yeah, it's always ladies and free

00:07:45 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 2:

Hot girls and free because they know we'll pay to get in and see you

00:07:48 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 3:

It's ladies and free, two for one drink specials But fat, dumpy dudes We're paying for them Mike, what did you do this weekend?

00:07:57 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

Friday, I went and Oh, my wife and I set up a Valentine's Day date Like we're planning our Valentine's Day date A little ahead of time because we're busy So we started this thing where we're buying each other's outfits. So I went and picked out an outfit for her. And then the employees at Uptown Cheapskate, which is where I went, picked out an outfit for her. And then Allie picked out an outfit. And they were voting on which outfit she's going to wear. Oh. If you go look at the outfit that I picked out, well, if you go look at them all, honestly, you could tell which one I picked. Where are they? Are they on your social media? Yeah, yeah. On Air Mike. You could tell which one I picked because she's literally wearing nothing. Like she's half naked in this little tiny dress that I picked. Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, oh, and then I screwed up big time because, and I should have put this in my topics. She asked me, hey, did you schedule the Shrek thing for this weekend? Did you get extra tickets or whatever? And I'm like, the Shrek thing for this weekend? I have no idea what she's talking about. Oh, my God. So I went online and Googled Shrek thing this weekend, and it's a Shrek rave.

00:09:06 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

Are you going to go? Because I want to go to this, and I have nobody to go with.

00:09:09 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 2:

Did you say it's a Shrek rave? Yes. Rave. So I went out and bought the tickets, right? Because I thought, oh, shoot, I screwed up. I forgot to get these tickets. Turns out my daughter has a Shrek musical at her school. Oh, my God. And you bought the rave tickets? And I bought the rave tickets instead.

00:09:28 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no. Oh, that's awesome.

00:09:30 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 2:

So I was like, uh, okay. Because I went back and forth. I'm like, I have no idea what the hell she is talking about. What are these tickets? So I'm like thinking, because she asked me, did you get extra tickets? We got to make sure we have extra tickets. And I'm like, shoot, I screwed it up. And it's this weekend. And the only thing that popped up this weekend for Shrek is some Shrek rave. You need to sell those to Megan now.

00:09:52 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

Or make Megan go to Cecily's Shrek the musical. Can you imagine if people mix that up?

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 5:

I ended up at Cecily's school. What's up, Andy? Hey, so I used to work at O'Tools, and if you ask if there's a cover, they will charge you, and then the bouncers will just keep it.

00:10:12 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 4:

That's ridiculously scammy. I guess they figure if you're a rookie, if you're asking, you're willing to pay.

00:10:19 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 5:

Absolutely. Every time. That's the most ridiculous thing ever. First off, in 2023, there should never be a cover charge ever again. that seems like the dumbest idea ever to do a cover

00:10:30 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 4:

unless there's live music because the cover the door usually pays for the band

00:10:34 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 5:

no that's a good point

00:10:36 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 4:

yeah so they basically got scammed

00:10:42 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 5:

I'm telling you I'm sick of Rob Walczak on those guys I'm going to put them in the hall of shame have a great day thanks man I appreciate it

00:10:51 - 00:11:19 | Speaker 3:
