Kev, I saw that you got a little barbecue action going this weekend. Oh, yeah. And from talking on the air last week about how you are vegan and how you are always meant to have to bring your own food because none of the meat lovers want to provide you with any kind of fish or anything. If I knew that shaming people On the radio would work I would have done it sooner I wouldn't have waited this long Your family was listening and they heard that? So not only did I go to the barbecue and I didn't have to supply anything, not only was I fed, but I also got my heart broken. Why? I live in a very artsy, fartsy family. A lot of people are great trained dancers, but the biggest thing that people do is they love to sing. And when songs come on, people are karaoke. People are singing over the song. They're harmonizing. They're switching their voices, hitting different pitches. and really showing their skills. And I wasn't blessed with the gift. You can't sing? I'm not that good. I'm not like them. It's like... Because you're a showman. I know you're a showman, but you're not a singer. I'm typically the one announcing everyone. I'm the performer.

Can I ask you a question? Give it to me. Because I really have never been in my life, and I've got many... I'm going to sound like that guy. I've got a lot of black friends. Okay.

Frankie Beverly and Mays. The one that Beyonce remixed. Okay. Before I let you go. When that comes on, everybody's up. The hustle starts. And that starts the party. That's like if you want to start the party, that's the song you throw on.

Really? And so that all of a sudden will get people up and dancing and all this stuff. And what do you do then at that moment there?

I can hit the one, two step now. like so you do you're the background dancer the body works now but the vibes are there the rhythm did not skip me it's just the vocals skip me the vocals skip the generation my kids might be the singers but for me it doesn't work so Does your son, Josiah, does she?

Josiah can sing, for sure. Oh, really? My sister Melinda has an amazing, an amazing voice. And when he was younger, she would sing with him. And it's carried over where he'll just randomly like, I'm getting my laptop. Like he'll just say something random and it's like, whoa, where did that come from?

Yeah, it's funny. I went to a family wedding this weekend and I realized I was the only person in my entire family that was not gifted with the ability to dance. Like, literally, I'm looking at, like, sisters, you know. Even my brother could dance a little bit, you know. He was kind of okay. And my wife, my kids, they're all dancing. And I got out there and I did the P. Diddy. I did the push the arms down, you know, right next to your body type of thing. I wasn't very good.

That's one. We got to see that. Yeah. Just the push. Yeah. Just the push.

Okay, so the family function that you go to, it kind of bothers you when you're getting together with the whole family. Does it bother you that your family is more talented than you? I mean, even though you're on the radio, you are the emcee at the Pistons games, the Michigan State University basketball and football games. You can't actually keep up with your family members.

I just want to sing. But I feel like you can sing. I think we won't know until he actually sings for us. It's levels to this. Yeah. You know what I mean? When you're in the family, it's levels to it. If your family is coming outside and they're hitting the notes.

Yeah. And you can't do it. Where are you guys having these things at? In the backyard. Backyard at somebody's house? Backyard at who? At an auntie's house? Gerard's house. Gerard's house. Yeah. Is Gerard dancing?
