After the conversation between Zach and Mojo on Monday about your mom's Angelversary. For those who don't know, Mojo's mom passed away many years ago on August 3rd.

And you came in and you talked about that. And it was a beautiful moment between you and Zach and other listeners

who called in and sharing that who also lost his mom at a young age yeah very young age and

i didn't do much talking during that because that was a moment for you all and i just kind of listened and remained silent and said my prayers and wanted to be there for you all but subconsciously it did something in my spirit was like man how blessed am i to have my mom here and both of you guys lost your moms at a young age and i'm in my 30s and i still have her i can call her i can hear her voice that's an extreme blessing so i went over to her house sat there talked to her and with literally no intention of staying as long as i did like i probably went over there maybe at one o'clock stayed literally all night long wow watched her favorite movie growing up that i used to watch was a movie called hoodlum like laurence fishburne was in it yeah watched that movie like we watched like three different movies just sitting there talking when it got like some some fish and like found myself on the couch and was like I think I'm gonna go to sleep here like spend the night

wait a second it wasn't just something you had planned it was something that you

did because of the I think it was because of the conversation that you and Zach had and making me think about my relationship with my mom and wanting to spend that time with her was she so elated that you stayed and spent the night you can see it you can see

how like a little like giddy she was a little bit like she had an extra like pep in her step and uh yeah i mean i want to thank you guys for sharing it because it impacted me in that way okay so this is actually an interesting thing and i will say this that we hear these stories from time to time but we never solicit these stories we'll get a story where somebody will say hey you guys inspired me to go do something and we'll be like oh that's cool that's great but we've never done it as a topic and i don't know if this will go anywhere but what have we done or said on the show that encouraged you to go do something and it could be anything i mean it could be something as like wonderful as what kev did where it was us just having a conversation about our mothers and how you know much we miss them and you realizing that you're very very blessed to still have your mom you know alive breathing and able to to share moments with like that um to maybe it was shannon when she talked about going and getting um you know a test a mammogram a mammogram that you know detected something that you know she had to be concerned about that you went and did it um maybe it could be honestly uh mojo was talking about chipotle and it really inspired it could be something like that but there there are things like i will say this about as long as i've been able to to be blessed to do this show and we all have been blessed to be able to to do something that we we love i will tell you that the greatest things that come out of the show are the moments where listener says you affected us yeah and you truly realize how much you affect somebody and it could even be you heard us talk about the car dealership that we you know love to go to and you went out and bought a car and you got a great deal on a car i mean it could be something like that or it could be that you spent the last waking moments with a family member because you heard something on our show like breaking and entering christmas you know what i mean i will say this the one thing about the the show that we have done over the years we've done the wacky and the weird and the fun and the phone scams and all that stuff we've done the war the roses and the salacious, you know, cheating and busting. But I think that the stuff that this show truly does the best with is just the real, the going in affecting somebody like at Christmas time. Uh, you know, there was a couple of years back, actually it was more than that. It was more than a decade ago. We did a break and entering Christmas wish and Chelsea and I were actually just discussing this the other day. It was one with a mom that was, she knew she was dying. She was a new mom of a new baby, but she also had a couple of little babies and she was dying. And we thought or they thought that this was going to be her last Christmas, which it ended up being her last Christmas.

And it's very rare that after we do a breaking and entering Christmas wish that I'll pack up my car and drive and go over to the house of the people that we grant the wishes for only because it affects the crap out of me. And I came home and Chelsea's like, I put a call into your producer and I asked for this person's address and I want to bring more stuff over to them because this really affected me. Chelsea and I went over and spent time with the family. And I'm going to say this to you. It was one of the greatest things and greatest moments that we've ever done as a couple because the kid stayed with a babysitter, which I remember Luke was little at the time. So it was actually might've been almost because Luke's 20. It might've been a decade and a half ago. And we sat out in their house. It was a down river house. And we sat in the house and hung out with the family and hung out with this woman who was sharing her story with us. And her husband said, as we were leaving, he was like, that was so cool to be able to spend this time with you guys. And, um, it's wild. You know, I think back about that and I know I'm babbling a little bit, but I think back about that and I think, man, we need to do this more often.

you know well i love that our our own show even inspires us to go out and do things or call you know listeners when you call in sometimes that is very inspiring i know to me to go you know do something or reconnect with somebody or take some time for myself or whatever it may be

we did we talked about something on our show and it was uh i think it was something that i saw on tiktok where i said every day for a year i was going to call on my way home from work somebody that i hadn't talked to in a while i don't know if you remember that and i did this thing i was and i didn't do it for a full year i probably did it for like three months or something like that and a listener ended up telling us that they reconnected with loved ones that they haven't talked to in the longest time and i remember one of the listeners that did this contacted us back and said that that person they found out had been really battling an illness and the reason that they hadn't connected for the longest time was because they were so sick Thank you. and that's actually kind of a cool thing if you've never thought about that or never heard about that it was every day on your way home from work or school or whatever it is instead of being in your car calling the same person all the time pick up the phone and call somebody you haven't talked to in a long time just pick somebody in your phone that you haven't talked to in a while and just

share a hey i love you you know or a moment lisa what's up hi yeah i used to do that with my mom i would go and stay the weekends with her after you know listening to the Christmas you know where people you never know when it's going to happen and I sat there every weekend and now that she passed that's the best memories I have of her that time I had with her just me and her you know for three years that's so you know leaving my family to go stay with her was the best that is that's

you an amazing life didn't she yes yes she did thanks and you really don't think about it until things are happening and stuff you really don't you know you love your mom and all that but you never really you know you took care of me and then it was like okay now i'm taking care of her

are going to be having surgery you remember the date that's wild i do remember the date because

It's the same day that my father passed away from COVID. He had an aortic aneurysm and an abdominal aortic aneurysm previously. But that, after he passed, kind of inspired me. I was like, oh, gosh, he had that. And then Mojo was talking about it. I should go get the test and see. And I did end up having one. It's small but manageable, and they're watching it every six months or so.

God, that makes me happy.

That is insane.

Sarah, that makes me so happy because aortic aneurysms are genetic, and there's a very good chance that it's genetic in families that have it. And the people that you worry about aren't the people that have it. The people you worry about are the people that don't know they have it.

Yes, I'm still trying to convince my brother to go get the test as well, but I have one that's manageable, and once it becomes unmanageable, they'll go ahead and do the surgery.

So in my family, I'm one of six siblings, And out of the six, University of Michigan, which, by the way, Michigan Medicine, the greatest heart hospital around, the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, out of the six of us, three out of the six of us have an aortic aneurysm. And my kids are going to get genetically tested. It's really important to do that.

I think, but like, and you know, just rambling or whatever. But I really think that's what makes this show different than others. That transparency. And I think that the moments where we tear down our own walls or don't allow whatever mind blocks or heart blocks that want to prevent us from telling our truth. Whenever we say no to that and lean more into the things that we don't want to lean into, we're not only breaking down barriers for ourselves it's for everybody out there sometimes it's just that extra push that you need to say you know what I'm not going through this alone or the things that I'm scared to share to other people somebody else is going through it and they need to hear this so they can finish their own stuff
