The World Cup is underway, and it's been incredible.

00:00:48 - 00:00:59 | Speaker 3:

On our podcast, The Away End, with Daniel Alarcon and John Green, we're talking about the games that have delighted us, the teams that have inspired us, what we're loving, and what surprised us, all through the lens of being massive fans of the world's most beautiful game.

00:01:00 - 00:01:14 | Speaker 1:

Daniel, this tournament has been magical so far. There's so much to love, and I can hardly believe the drama that the group stage brought us. And now it's time for us to talk about the teams that are left as the field is whittled down to one World Cup champion on July 19th.

mojo in the morning show Kevin are you excited for a big Michigan Michigan State basketball game this weekend

00:01:31 - 00:01:37 | Speaker 6:

Michigan lost last night and Michigan State plays tonight and then they play each other on Sunday

00:01:37 - 00:01:51 | Speaker 5:

and if Michigan State wins tonight they seal the Big Ten but they don't want to go into the tournament the Big Ten tournament or March Madness losing to their arch rivals They want to sweep those guys this year.

00:01:51 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 6:

I'm excited. He's the MC, by the way, for the game. I'm hosting a game. Every game is incredible. The atmosphere is amazing inside the Breslin. But as you know, rivalry games bring a certain level of intensity. And if you've never been to a Michigan State basketball game or if you've never seen me there, I have the opportunity to address the entire crowd prior to the game. And I typically, you know, write out a little something and try to do something that is regular so people kind of know what to expect, and then they can buy in. But it's Michigan, Michigan State, so you've got to take it to a whole other level.

00:02:24 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 5:

He does the starting lineups and stuff, kind of like how Mason does. Oh, that's sweet. It's awesome.

00:02:29 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 7:

That's really cool.

00:02:30 - 00:02:41 | Speaker 6:

It's incredible. Can you give us a taste of one of the players? How you do it? So one of my favorite ones is a guy from Minneapolis, Minnesota. His name's Trey Holloman. So we do it, we'll be like—

00:02:41 - 00:02:42 | Speaker 7:

Oh, he was just in the dirty.

00:02:43 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, because he's the guy that hit the half-court shots. Oh, yeah.

00:02:46 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God, I remember the half-court.

00:02:47 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 6:

I do something like get live for number five, and then I'd be like, Trey, holla, man, and then try to get the crowd to come in with that. Yeah, you're so good at this, Kev. Okay. So I'm writing my script that I'm going to address the crowd with, and I'm on FaceTime with somebody who went to Michigan State. They're all involved, and she's like, I can see the script in your glasses. I'm wearing my MetaShade. She can see the reflection as I'm reading it to her. So I'm like, okay, that's kind of cool, but I got to pee afterwards, and when I go use the bathroom it clicks in my mind oh snap she just said she can see my reflection she probably can see my dick if i start oh i can see my penis if i start to pee that goes through my mind so immediately i'm like okay yeah we don't want that let's turn the camera around no but how many so now i turn the camera around now you can like see the whole thing on them flash nobody oh no no no Oh, so this actually happened. This wasn't you just having a thought. No, this is yesterday. Why are we still on FaceTime in the bathroom? We've talked about this. With medic shades on. We have to continue the conversation. You can hold it. Turn the camera off. My thought process was like, I tried to do the right thing. No, you didn't. Did she see your penis? She said she didn't. I would lie, too. She was like, I saw the toilet. Okay, good.

00:04:06 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 5:

Has anybody ever had this where they were FaceTiming on the toilet and people saw you and you didn't realize that they were seeing you? Or you're naked getting dressed and you had your phone on or something like that. When people take pictures in their bathroom, they'll do pictures. Why?

00:04:22 - 00:04:23 | Speaker 7:

Everybody needs to stop doing that.

00:04:23 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 5:

Do you not understand that there are the live pictures and all you have to do is hold down on the picture?

00:04:27 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

Not even that, but you might look beautiful. But when the toilet's in the background, you can't post that. Yeah, seat up. You poop there. I don't need to see your loofah. I don't care. I told you the story because my girlfriends and I were weird. And so I will answer a FaceTime regardless of my situation. And my friend Lindsay, well, I thought it was Lindsay, FaceTimed me the other day. And I was on the toilet naked, by the way, because I was about to get into the shower. And it was her seven-year-old son asking if Smith could play.

00:05:00 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 8:

I remember that. I remember that. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. Text 95500 to get through to us. You don't wear those meta glasses that you have, which, by the way, somebody texted and said, Kevin wears shades. These are regular glasses. Yeah. So it's not like sunglasses. Because nobody wears sunglasses going to the bathroom.

00:05:23 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 7:

No, yeah. So the reason why I do it.

00:05:24 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 8:

Because that would be, by the way, that would be like a rapper-ish. You know what I mean? Like rappers wear sunglasses indoors and stuff.

00:05:30 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, but they're basically AirPods. So they're Bluetooth, so you can take calls and you can hear the calls.

00:05:35 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 8:

You don't videotape your calls and stuff like that, do you?

00:05:38 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 7:

You can. If you want to do FaceTime, then obviously they can't see you if you're having the shades, but they can see whatever you're looking at.

00:05:45 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 8:

But you're not videoing. You're going to the – yeah, like you're not like recording. You're going to the duty, are you? Who does that? Well, you maybe. I don't know if you do that.

00:05:56 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 6:

Do the shades alert if you're recording to alert the other person just like it does now on FaceTime? There's only a light, but like... I'm so pissed that it does say that now. It says, this call will be recorded.

00:06:10 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 7:

Have you done it yet? I feel like the white light is obvious enough. Now, if you are a creep, then you can go on Amazon. You can buy something to clear it up.

00:06:17 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 1:

And it's supposed to stop it from filming when you cover it, but they've already come out with a way to...

00:06:22 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 7:

Wait, explain this to me. so like these two cameras here i'm gonna turn it on in a second once it starts to sync you'll be able to see like a white light on there and then once you see the white light that's supposed to let you know it like oh it finally synced oh there you go see the white light oh yeah so i'm aware

00:06:37 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 1:

okay so what's up kelly hi hey hi um so i used to be a court reporter and when And then all of our depositions switched to Zoom. There were many, many people who would start their depositions and then bring the phone into the bathroom with them to continue testifying.

00:06:59 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 8:

Oh, no. Oh, no. And you would see them, would you see them going to the bathroom?

00:07:05 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. I could see their face because, of course, they're holding their phone towards their face. But, I mean, you're sitting on the toilet in the stall or wherever.

00:07:13 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 8:

Oh, jeez. You know what? I would feel like I would start getting the sensation of smelling it, too. It would be awful. Phil, what's up?

00:07:21 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 4:

So I had an incident where I haven't told really anybody about this. I haven't told my mom or anything about this. But I was taking a shower, and my mom's employee was actually in the house. And they walked in on me as I got out of the shower.

00:07:39 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 8:

Oh, and you were drying your parts?

00:07:41 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. They saw me and everything.

00:07:43 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 8:

Your mom's employee walked in on you in the bathroom, and your mom does not know that that happened?

00:07:48 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 4:

No, I don't want to tell her. Is it a... No, I don't want to. Is it like a... I don't want to tell her because she's really good at what he does and stuff.

00:07:55 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 8:

Oh, he.

00:07:56 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:07:57 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 8:

So it was a guy employee.

00:07:58 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 4:

It was a guy employee, yeah.

00:08:00 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 8:

What the hell was your mom's employee doing at your house like that?

00:08:03 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 6:

Also, there's a hair in the butter with that whole story.

00:08:07 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, why is the employee there? What's the employee doing there? My favorite are the people that will be on the toilet and they're going to the bathroom and they don't understand that there's echo. And then a comes out a little, you know, it's like all of a sudden, like, oh, yeah, that goes a little bit. What's the girl's name that was there on the toilet? We want to apologize to her, by the way. You just said toilet. And I don't think you meant to.

00:08:35 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 5:

No, you did.

00:08:37 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 8:

I'm from the Midwest.

00:08:39 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 5:
