00:01:48 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 6:

What do we got here? I stayed up late last night. I ended up watching. I watched the Luka Doncic returning to Dallas game last night on ESPN. and uh and which by the way it was so kind of cool to see what dallas did for him but also how he reacted to it he was very emotional you know he got you didn't realize that this guy who you know came here as just a kid to the states dallas was his town you know that kind of grew in him and they helped him grow up a little bit and they uh they put all that stuff up there his idol was up in the stands, Dirk Nowitzki, and it was cool. It was really cool to see that. He scored 45 points or something like that.

00:02:37 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 5:

Something like that.

00:02:37 - 00:02:51 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. Went off. Yeah. But then I just stayed up too late. I got to get to bed early because I'm kind of tired today. You seem tired today, too. Are you a little tired today, Cav? Yeah. I'm tired. What did you do last night? You didn't have a game or anything, did you?

00:02:52 - 00:02:59 | Speaker 5:

Tonight? Nah. But I watched that game. Yeah, we got a game tonight. I watched that game, and then I watched the game after that. It was a good game between Denver and the Sacramento Kings.

00:02:59 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 6:

What time do you go to bed? Because you send your topics in at like 1 in the morning or something like that.

00:03:06 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 5:

Sometimes, yeah. I mean, I'll go to bed. It's interesting. I was talking to somebody on FaceTime last night, and it was around 12, 30-ish. And it was like, that's typically the time I go to bed, between like midnight and 1. Holy cow. So do you sleep during the day? Do you take a nap? I'll take a nap. Yeah, yesterday I took a nap between, I had a great nap yesterday. It was like a four-hour nap.

00:03:25 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 6:

That's the problem. Okay. That's crazy. Once you do a four-hour nap during the day, you can't fall asleep at night, and then it screws you up, and then all you're doing is sleep in little increments.

00:03:34 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 5:

I mean, I'm not going to force myself to stay up if my body realizes it needs rest.

00:03:39 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 7:

Before kids, I used to sleep like that. I would sleep in halves, I called it. I would stay up late, and I would get like four hours of sleep, and then I would do the show, and then I would go home and sleep for like four more hours.

00:03:49 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 6:

But then it ruins your day. They say it screws up your metabolism, too, that you never get the full, your deep sleep and REM sleep because you're only doing four hours here, four hours there. Like, you need eight hours consistent sleep.

00:04:03 - 00:04:08 | Speaker 7:

I never get that. Maybe on the, I mean, on the weekends, maybe I do. I just don't see myself going to bed at nine o'clock.

00:04:08 - 00:04:12 | Speaker 6:

Because there's too much going on? Or do you feel like you're, you feel like a loser doing that?

00:04:13 - 00:04:16 | Speaker 5:

Probably all the above. Nine o'clock? Like, what am I doing, bro?

00:04:16 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

You know what I'm going to have to do? I'm going to have to put you on a curfew. It's going to be like with my kid. Who do you think you are? I'm sorry. I don't care about you. I'm going to send you to your room. I might have to have a conversation. I might have to talk to your mom about you moving back in because you might have to move back in the house. Okay. Or, or I might have to talk to Chelsea about you coming and living with us. And it might be the whole thing where I actually have to turn my Xfinity. For Luke to go to bed, I would have to turn my Xfinity wifi off in the house so that Luke wasn't on his phone or his computers. I get to live with Chelsea. You get to let you, I'll let you sleep with Chelsea, as long as you get an eight-hour day. You know that. Chelsea, we care about you. Shannon, I'm telling you, you know what he does? You don't learn about sleeping.

00:05:00 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 2:

Until you, like when I was younger and I was doing this job in my 20s, even my 30s, possibly even 40s, you think you're invincible and then it catches up to you. You got to, you got to get some sleep. I do get sleep. Yeah. I went to bed the same time yesterday. You're FaceTiming somebody at what time again? Midnight? Yeah. The show starts at five o'clock. I did the same thing yesterday and the day before that. Your eyes are like half open right now. They are. For real. It's a tired day, guys. Glossy eyes. Let me see. So the outgoing call started at 1136 and it went for 54 minutes. Once it hits 10 o'clock, I start to panic.

00:05:38 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 1:

Hold on a second.

00:05:39 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 2:

If I'm still awake.

00:05:40 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 1:

I'm not joking. I get like massive anxiety.

00:05:43 - 00:05:55 | Speaker 2:

I know I'm acting like your dad. And I'm not your dad because there's only one dad. And that is Kevin Irwin the first. The first. Kevin Irwin, what's happening, dad?

00:05:55 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 1:

This is the Mojo in the morning show. This is the Mojo in the morning show. Good morning, Mojo. Good morning, Kev's dad. How are you? Amazingly fine. If I was doing any better, I'd be sitting. Yes, I would be. Wow.

00:06:14 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 2:

How much sleep do you get a night? You sound like you got a good night's sleep last night.

00:06:18 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 1:

Well, I do, you know, and rest is very, very important. I mean, rest, you must rest in order to be your best. Kevin, listen up. You got to rest in order to be your best.

00:06:32 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 2:

Cameron, you hear that? That no watching some useless Denver Nuggets game.

00:06:37 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 1:

It was a good game last night. Well, I don't know now. I don't know now. That's part of Kevin's routine. Kevin has a lot of jobs now, so he's got to stay on top of things. Come on now, Mojo.

00:06:50 - 00:06:54 | Speaker 2:

I know, but he can read about it in the morning or, you know, watch.

00:06:54 - 00:06:58 | Speaker 1:

Oh, no, no, no. He can read about it in the morning and be about it at night as well.

00:06:58 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 2:

How about that? Oh, my gosh. Well, I thought you were going to help me with this thing. I thought we were going to parent this guy together here.

00:07:04 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

And, listen, we are, Mojo, but I'm still waiting on that phone call, but I won't mention it.

00:07:08 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 2:

We tried to. You changed your phone number. You got rid of your old. Why did you change your phone number?

00:07:12 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 1:

We tried to call you yesterday. Actually, actually, you know, I didn't see that text until later that evening. and Lydia was so kind enough to respond and get with her this morning. But I would just like a heads up, you know, because I hope things can do as well, man. I just can't sit around waiting on you guys to call.

00:07:33 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 2:

Well, listen, we definitely got to get to you. Here's the deal. We got to talk to Kevin about going to bed early. I'm a little worried about him. I want him to be better. You know, he was sick there for a little bit. We all know that. And then he gave the influenza virus to Megan, and then she got sick. So they're all, you know what I mean?

00:07:52 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 1:

That's not funny. I'm sorry.

00:07:53 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Well, I think she got that at Frickers. I don't think she got that for me.

00:08:01 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 1:

Well, you know, Kevin, well, you know, man, Rush is not going to be really a major priority these next 24 or 48 hours. You know that.

00:08:11 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 2:

Why is that?

00:08:12 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 1:

Because Kevin, you know Kevin's birthday is the month. I know that.

00:08:17 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 2:

I was waiting for you to say that.

00:08:19 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 1:

And, you know, he's official. He can run for president. You got to be 35. Oh, I never knew that. I forgot about that.

00:08:27 - 00:08:27 | Unknown:

Okay.

00:08:28 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 2:

Hey, we talked yesterday on the show about. Oh, yeah. We talked about where you were conceived, and Kevin said that his was a boring one. Where did you? I don't know if I can say that. Where did, yeah, where was I conceived? Where did you do Kev's mom?

00:08:43 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 1:

Exactly when he was conceived. Oh. Where? He was conceived on Churchill Street in Detroit. On the east side. In a house or in a car? No, no, no, no, Kevin. That's what we live. My fault. No, yeah, White Hill. Now, I'm a West Sider all my life, but it was such a great deal back in 89 that I bought this house. So that's what Kevin was. That's Kevin's first home. But Kevin was conceived on Churchill Street, and I want to say maybe we started out our job probably maybe around October or something, and it finally came through. Kevin was born 3.57 a.m. on a Wednesday. He weighed in at seven pounds, four ounces, just like his father.

00:09:37 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 2:

Oh, my God.

00:09:38 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Wow. And tomorrow we're celebrating Kev. You do all right. Now, listen to this real quick, man. This is so funny. I went to pick Kevin up one morning from school. Five years old. He was in kindergarten. So when I get to the school, they say, hey, Mr. Irwin, how you doing? I say, hey, thank you. He said, man, boy, that Kevin was cutting up today. I said, what? I said, I'm going to talk to him again.

00:10:00 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 6:

Now, this is a true story. That's true, man. I'm a little upset. I put Kevin in the back seat. I'm driving my 88 Toyota Corolla at the time. Detail. Great car. Anyway, I'm going off. Kevin's in the back seat. I'm going off. I'm going off. I'm looking in the mirror. He's looking. He's just being quiet. So I'm repeating myself. Finally, I'm just tired of talking. And there's a pause, about five seconds. And all of a sudden, Kevin said, Daddy, I'm going to pray for you. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.

00:10:40 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 7:

Wow, that's amazing. That sounds like a Kev thing, doesn't it? You know who that sounds like? That sounds like Josiah. That sounds like something that Josiah is. Hold on a second. Hold on. Danny wants to make a comment. Danny, we're on with Kev's dad here. What did you want to say?

00:10:54 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 5:

Good morning. Hi, guys. I just wanted to say I love when Big Cap calls. He makes my day even better than the Mojo Show does.

00:11:05 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 7:

Wow, I love that.

00:11:07 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 5:

You know what? You didn't get Kevin was supposed to say, I got Dan on the phone. Well, it's actually my second time, not my first time. He's on the phone. Hey, well, you know it's better the second time around.

00:11:25 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 7:

All right. Well, listen, Big Kev, as Danny calls, Big Kev, we're going to get going here, too. But I'm glad that you called Kevin, that he needs to go to bed, okay? He needs to get to bed early.

00:11:39 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 6:

Certainly, man. Get your rest in all seriousness. And you guys, all of you guys get your rest because you all start our day. And remember, remember, man, this is the Mojo. There he is. Hey, Mojo, I love you. I love you, buddy. I love you, we love you too Alright, and we'll talk later And I'll call you tomorrow, Kevin To answer the doggone phone, I love you

00:12:04 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 7:

Alright, love you too, man Wait, do you not answer the phone? He say he be calling me, bro, but, you know

00:12:10 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 6:

No, I'm just messing with you now, Kevin I'm just messing with him, that's my guy Give him a call I'll talk to you tomorrow, and I love you guys And continue to make the radio listeners happy

00:12:21 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 7:

I love it By the way, you know what I'm gonna get Kevin, by the way, for his birthday? I'm going to get him a television that doesn't work so he's not watching these games. Oh, okay. And a bed. We need a bed for you. You know what Kevin needs? Kevin needs a mattress endorsement. Like, are there any of these mattress companies out there? Because then he has to be in bed. Sleep Number, Purple, Casper. We'll all be great ones. Yeah, I'll take a car endorsement, too. They got these massage seats out. That'll relax you for real. Sleep in your car. There you go.

00:12:49 - 00:12:49 | Speaker 8:

Why not?

00:12:49 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 7:

All right.

00:12:51 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 8:

Kev is an acquired taste. Don't like him? Acquire some taste. This is Mojo in the Morning.
