All right, it's Mojo in the Morning Show. Kevin, it is nice to have you here. Kevin was out sick on Friday and felt horrible about this. Yesterday, he was supposed to have a big moment happening in his life, and because he was sick,

00:01:57 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 5:

you had to miss this moment bruh i do the pistons i'm on a mojo in the morning show and i have the blessing to be one of the in-game arena hosts for michigan state and yesterday i was on the game scheduled to be on what is the biggest game on the schedule all year when you have your in-state rival michigan wolverines coming to the breslin That alone is like the greatest moment. Then you add on to it that we were the outright Big Ten champions. So you know you're getting a trophy that game, a chance to go undefeated against the Wolverines. You're on the call. It's senior night. It's the last game of the season in the Breslin. You hype as hell, and then you get sick. Man. And you cannot go.

00:02:46 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 6:

I'm sad that you were sick, but I'm glad that you didn't try to fake it and show up Because if you would have gotten, because you're, like, hugging on Coach Izzo and the players. Like, could you imagine right before the tournament, a flu virus sweeps through the Michigan, the Big Ten champion Michigan State Spartans. Like, could you imagine you would be the guy? Would you, by the way, if that did happen, would you have fessed up and said that was me that gave him?

00:03:12 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 5:

I'd have to go into hiding. You can't fess up.

00:03:14 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 6:

I was patient number one.

00:03:15 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 5:

Oh, no, no, you can't do that. You can't be the contagion. But, no, I mean.

00:03:19 - 00:03:42 | Speaker 6:

What is that movie, by the way? Contagion. Is that what it is? Yeah. That movie was like number one on Netflix with all that was going on. Can you imagine if you're coronavirus number one? You're the first person. You're the patient zero. No, you're the, what is it? Because it said it was in Wuhan. You're the lab. You're the person in the lab that spilled it over and gave it to everybody.

00:03:42 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 5:

It was so terrible. Even having to send a text message to our game presentation folks in Michigan State Athletics to say, hey, I sent it to them Saturday morning just to give them enough leeway to figure out, you know, how to pivot and do the things that they need to do to make sure the production ran smoothly. To say, hey, just a heads up, I don't know if I'm going to make it. I'm going to do everything I possibly can.

00:04:03 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 6:

Who's the bench guy?

00:04:06 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 5:

Remember TG, who used to do promotions here for iHeart? Oh. So TG does some of the games as well. Okay.

00:04:14 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, so TG did it. Did you have your voicemail message from me on Saturday? I don't listen. I don't listen to voices. Play your voicemail message from me on Saturday, if you got it there.

00:04:23 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 7:

While he's looking for that, I could tell Kev was, like, really down and out because I sent him a text. I wanted to send you a text Friday to, like, check on you. I had to ask you a question about something. And you didn't even respond until Saturday.

00:04:33 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 5:

I just hearted it. Well, I didn't send it until, like, 11 a.m. or something like that. Yeah, you just, like, hearted it.

00:04:36 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 7:

And normally you are, like, right away, big message back.

00:04:41 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 5:

I think one of your questions was, like, what to ask Izzo? At that point, the show was over. So I'm, like, I don't know what to tell her.

00:04:46 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:04:47 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

All right, play the voicemail message. You got it? You don't ever listen. Coach Izzo just called me and wants to know if I want to fill in for you. That you're still sick.

00:05:01 - 00:05:11 | Speaker 4:

So I just want you to know that I'm writing like this big intro. I'm really excited about it. And I just want to get your approval on it to make sure that it's okay.

00:05:12 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 5:

What's wrong with you?

00:05:13 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 4:

Checking in on you. Who, me?

00:05:14 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:05:15 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 4:

I'm a fat guy still. I breathe fat.

00:05:17 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 5:

You sound different.

00:05:19 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 4:

Bro, you know what's crazy? I'm like, I got a heavy. When I listen to my voicemail messages, I'm like. Yeah, like you ran three flights.

00:05:28 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 3:

Bro, third. I'm sitting on my couch. Thursday, we were here talking about, give me a little bit of your intro. Name some of the players. We did that on Thursday.

00:05:40 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God.

00:05:41 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 3:

When I tell you I had a paragraph full of, like, this is what I'm going to say, this is where I'm going to do it, I was so ready to go.

00:05:48 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 4:

But everything happens for a reason. Lydia, here's the topic, okay, and get some people to call us up. What were you sick for? What was the big thing that you missed because you were sick? Because you hear these stories all the time about people that, you know, have like a big moment in their life and they miss it, like a wedding or something.

00:06:06 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 3:

They're holding the trophy. The confetti is falling. They're raising banners. And I'm at home with chicken noodle soup and cayenne pepper.

00:06:14 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 4:

You Aiden Hutchinson'd the opportunity. You got injured.

00:06:19 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 5:

Dude, this was me every field trip growing up. I was a kid that would get a strep every time.

00:06:24 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 4:

That's the worst.

00:06:24 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 5:

I know.

00:06:25 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 4:

Were you guys ever sick? on the last day of school when they would have like the big school like field day

00:06:32 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 3:

field day

00:06:33 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 5:

is the best day ever right I got sick for field I got strep in like June for field day but let me tell you something Kev like back to what Mojo said about you don't want to be patient number one

00:06:43 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 3:

yeah

00:06:44 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 5:

my 40th birthday party a couple of years ago I was really really sick and I didn't want to tell everybody because my friends had like spent so much time planning it so I went and everybody Everybody on the bus got influenza B. We all went to the same urgent care to get tested, and nobody wanted to tell everybody else. And apparently at one point the doctor was like, I'm getting a whole bunch of like 40-something women coming in and testing for influenza B, and it was from me.

00:07:14 - 00:07:16 | Speaker 3:

From your birthday. B from birthday.

00:07:16 - 00:07:20 | Speaker 5:

Because I didn't want to miss it, but I should have. Can everybody say it? I should have, yeah.

00:07:20 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 4:

Text her here right now, said, Kev, I was at the game yesterday expecting to hear your voice because I heard Coach Izzo on Friday, and you were missed. That's so sweet. It was 810 that said that. What's up, Kane? How you doing?

00:07:35 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 1:

Hey, I'm doing good. I was sick on my birthday just on February 17th, and I had to cancel all my plans because I got the flu.

00:07:43 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

Oh, that's the worst. Was it a big birthday number or just like a random birthday?

00:07:47 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 1:

I was turning 25. I mean, she and my girlfriend had my plans and she's pregnant right now. So I just, I didn't want to risk getting her sick or getting anybody else sick. But I actually went into a funeral home to do a job interview because work's been really slow for me through the winter. And I, they're the only people that have called me back. I've applied 20 different places and I went in there and they didn't call me back. I'm wondering if I got that sick. I feel kind of. Oh, no. No.

00:08:16 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 4:

No, the interesting thing with that is that that's a good business still to be in. It's a recession-proof business. People are always dying. What's up, Lori? How you doing?

00:08:28 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I'm good. How are you guys today? Good.

00:08:31 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 4:

Cab missed his big moment. What big moment was missed?

00:08:35 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

My son and his best friend and girlfriend at the time were all going on a trip to Florida, and they were leaving at different times. And this was going to be his big moment. He was going to be popping the question to his girlfriend. And they had everything planned. The ring actually went down with his best man, which is his best friend. And, like, two days prior before him leaving, and Alex was already down there, his friend, he had COVID. Oh, my God.

00:09:07 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 4:

Jeez. Did his girlfriend not go, too?

00:09:11 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 2:

Oh, no. They didn't go because they were planning on going together. And the other couple went.

00:09:15 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 4:

How did he propose then?

00:09:18 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

So he ended up going to Florida. He had like Animal Kingdom. He had a room all planned in Animal Kingdom. And the giraffes were going to come up. But he ended up going to Florida probably about a month later and popping the question.

00:09:34 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 4:

Could you imagine if his friend would have lost the ring? Can you imagine if he lost the ring?

00:09:41 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 5:

Just holding a FaceTime up and holding the ring.

00:09:44 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 4:

Asia, what's up?

00:09:45 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 2:

hey y'all um so it was a while ago but i got pneumonia during my fifth grade field trip and we went to like tennessee or something like that okay but it still hurts me to this day because like i still have like a little car

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 6:

cards that everybody sent out to me and stuff like that. It was devastating.

00:10:04 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 3:

But I also want to let y'all know, I listen to you guys so much. My four-year-old, like, she goes around saying, Mojo in the morning says, you're a doo-doo head.

00:10:13 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 2:

We love it. You got to record her. Also, we're sorry. Yeah, record that. I'd love to play that.

00:10:18 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 1:

Hi, cutie. All right, take care of yourself. Elizabeth, what did you miss because you were sick?

00:10:24 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 3:

Taylor Swift.

00:10:25 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 1:

Oh, no. That's the worst. That's awful. And that cost you a lot of money, huh?

00:10:31 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 3:

It was the first time she came to Detroit, and I just was, like, drowsed and sweat, and I had to beg my neighbor to take my daughter.

00:10:40 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 1:

How much did it cost you for your tickets?

00:10:43 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 3:

$1,500.

00:10:44 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh. And your neighbor got that special moment with your daughter. That stinks.

00:10:49 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, she did. Oh, I got lovely pictures. She totally did, like, the mom thing for me.

00:10:54 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:10:54 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 3:

But I was just, like, in the toilet by the time Taylor was on her third set.

00:10:58 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 1:

you're lucky though that you didn't go stephanie what's up hi so my brother and his um fiance were

00:11:07 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 7:

engaged for some time and he called me and said hey we're getting married today like they're eloping but no you're not i'm in the hospital i'm septic with kidney stones no i really am and i wanted to just i i missed i missed it i felt horrible

00:11:25 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 4:

So why didn't they postpone it for you?

00:11:29 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 7:

Well, they were just like how they are. They just, they'd been together high school sweethearts and we all, it's their style. Oh, we're just going to go get married today. Like they didn't tell anybody, you know, they had a big like wedding reception afterwards. Like a big like get together rather. And he was more upset that I didn't tell him I was in the hospital.

00:11:49 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 1:

Oh man. Well, that, that, that would suck the bet. That's a big moment to miss. Um, Laura was actually throwing the surprise party for her mother-in-law and got sick throwing the party.

00:12:05 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 2:

Yes. You guys, I planned the surprise birthday party for my mother.

00:12:10 - 00:12:16 | Speaker 1:

Do you like your mother-in-law or is this a mother-in-law we hate? Okay. Cause I was wondering if you got her sick on purpose.

00:12:17 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 2:

No, actually I didn't even get anybody else sick. I was very surprised. We had the entire family over. I planned everything, made 90% of the food, didn't even make it through her singing happy birthday to her or nothing, and I was in the bathroom, liquid out both ends. All right, all right, all right, all right, all right.

00:12:37 - 00:12:39 | Speaker 1:

I'm hanging up on you. I'm hanging up on you.

00:12:39 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 4:

Literally a nightmare with people in the house. Nightmare.

00:12:45 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 1:

734 says they missed their prom because they were sick.

00:12:48 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 7:

See, that's what you still think about.

00:12:51 - 00:12:52 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. That was Sam. Sam, are you there?

00:12:53 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 6:

Hello.

00:12:54 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 1:

You missed prom?

00:12:57 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 6:

I did. I actually went to the pictures. We did like our group pictures, but it was 95 degrees, and I had like a giant ball gown on. And when I got to prom, I was so severely dehydrated and had heat poisoning, I threw up all over the bathroom. It was such a nightmare.

00:13:18 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 1:

Oh, man. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. it was so bad that's awful well i'm glad that uh i'm you know what it's prom you we need to have like maybe a second chance prom or something for you like we've done that before as a promo

00:13:31 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 5:

what's going on uh sarah what did you miss good morning everybody um so last year was the first time going to jingle ball after the past two years of me having covid during it um my my mom had me take off the last few days of my internship to make sure that I wasn't getting sick for it because she knew it was so bad. I wanted to see Teddy Swims and I was able to see him.

00:13:59 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 1:

Oh my god. And you missed it?

00:14:02 - 00:14:04 | Speaker 4:

No, she made it this year. You made it this year?

00:14:04 - 00:14:07 | Speaker 1:

She was sick the two years before that. Okay. Yes.

00:14:07 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 4:

But I love that you took time off from work to make sure you made it. My mom made me

00:14:13 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 5:

do it, so I love my mom. she's still going i love my mom can i can i give you guys a shout out sure go ahead please okay so i graduate this um this coming april from eastern michigan yeah i just want to thank you so much for like you guys have gotten me so much through college and everything i freaking love

00:14:34 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 1:

00:14:44 - 00:14:46 | Speaker 3:

I love it. We're graduates.

00:14:48 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 1:

When's graduation? We want to hear about it and get some pictures from you.

00:14:53 - 00:14:56 | Speaker 5:

Oh my gosh, I'm taking pictures in your guys' shirt.

00:14:56 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. Talk to Lydia.

00:15:00 - 00:15:36 | Speaker 3:

and let's make sure we get those so we can post them, okay? Yeah, I love them, yeah. Could you imagine, by the way, if we all walk up with her when she goes and gets her diploma at Eastern? How could I? We should do that. It's like all of us running up there together. They'd be like, why is there a whole group of people? Huh? What do you think? How come nobody has ever asked us to do a commencement speech? I know. We can get a group picture. One of my favorites is at graduation when you got that kid that's like the first kid in the family that graduates and their family just makes so much noise that the kid who's right behind them, you can't even hear who the kid is. That would be us.

00:15:36 - 00:16:05 | Speaker 2:
