It's Mojo in the Morning Show. Kevin has rules at his mother of Josiah's house.

00:01:24 - 00:01:27 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. I didn't know these were rules until like two weeks ago.

00:01:27 - 00:01:29 | Speaker 5:

So you guys have a great co-parenting relationship.

00:01:29 - 00:01:30 | Speaker 6:

Yeah.

00:01:30 - 00:01:32 | Speaker 5:

But now she's instilling rules for you.

00:01:33 - 00:01:44 | Speaker 6:

I don't know what's going on, to be honest with you. But I pulled up. So the first rule, and she texted me after I left, was don't beep the horn when you come in the driveway. I'm like, all right.

00:01:45 - 00:01:49 | Speaker 5:

Wait a second. Why do you do that? When you go pick Josiah up, you don't walk to the door? You just beep the horn?

00:01:49 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 6:

He's 12 years old. He can come out the house. What am I walking to the door for? I don't have to hold his hand To put him in the car seat Like no He 12 years old Come run out So I'll text her Or I'll be like Hey I'll be there at 8 Like last night It was like I'll be there at 8 And this is me Dropping him off You know to go there So 8 o'clock 8.05 You know 10 minute grace period Walk in the house Boom boom boom boom When I'm coming to get him I'll say I'll be there In 5 minutes I'll be there in 10 minutes When I pull in the driveway A quick beep beep To let you know I'm here Like that's what The beep beep is for She texts me like Don't beep the horn When you pull in the driveway Like Alright And, you know, some conversations aren't worth having. So it's not like something I'm going to be like, well, why can't I beat the horn? Just whatever. Yo, how else would you do? And she texted me the other day and was like, don't throw loose trash in my dumpster. I didn't even respond to that either. First off, it's not my trash. It's Josiah trash. It's all his Capri Suns and fudge cookies and all that kind of stuff. Get your trash, throw it in the dumpster.

00:02:45 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 5:

Like a dumpster? What's a dumpster?

00:02:46 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 6:

Like the one you put on the trash can, the one you put onto the street every week. So it's her garbage can. Her garbage can. Okay, her personal garbage can. Yeah, it's not a dumpster.

00:02:54 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 5:

A dumpster is like communal, but this is actually her garbage can.

00:02:57 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 6:

Her garbage can with her little address on there. Don't throw loose trash in.

00:03:01 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 5:

She wants you to throw it in a bag, a garbage bag, so that it doesn't get dirty in her garbage can.

00:03:06 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 6:

Who has bags like that just ready to go?

00:03:09 - 00:03:13 | Speaker 5:

Well, can you walk it in the house? Or no, you're too lazy because you're out.

00:03:13 - 00:03:16 | Speaker 3:

This is too beep beep. He's sitting in the car. He's not going in.

00:03:16 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 6:

And this isn't a regular occurrence. It's like every, you know, Wednesday or whatever the day is, we're throwing trash away. But if I look in the backseat and Joe got rappers and stuff, go throw that in the trash can. Yeah, I'd do the same thing.

00:03:28 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 3:

Which one do you do? No, I would do the same thing, Kev. Like, I throw random stuff in my garbage can all the time. But there are some people that are crazy about everything being bagged.

00:03:37 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 5:

What about the beeping? What about that part?

00:03:40 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 3:

I mean, that wouldn't bother me. I don't know. Thank you. You're okay. You could also just send a text saying here if it bothered her that much. But that would not bother me, the beeping.

00:03:50 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 6:

And it wasn't premeditated. It's not like I'm laying on the horn.

00:03:53 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 3:

It's just, buh-buh, I'm here. Maybe her neighbor said something. I don't know.

00:03:56 - 00:04:04 | Speaker 5:

But wait, but you don't like the idea, though, that he's just sitting out in front of the house and he's beeping? Like, it's so impersonal. Like, maybe she wants to share. No, I agree.

00:04:04 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 4:

I agree with that. It is impersonal.

00:04:06 - 00:04:14 | Speaker 5:

Maybe she wants to share. Hey, Josiah wasn't feeling good. I want to tell you a little bit about this, whatever. She wants to share some parenting stuff with her.

00:04:14 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 6:

So you want me to pull up in a driveway. Yes. Go to the door. You said that you're going to get more exercise this year. Ring the doorbell, knock on the door. Yes. And like sit in, have tea. No, you don't have to have tea.

00:04:25 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 3:

But you guys talk all the time. So if there's something about Josiah that's going on, you guys, you don't need that moment to transition and that information.

00:04:36 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 5:

I don't like the idea that you're beeping like that, especially because when Josiah, and I know he's, you know, he's getting older, but Josiah is not like he's 15 or something like that. he's still you guys are still parenting you still got some stuff to do and i think that it would be nice for you to walk up and you guys have the ability to be able to just go hey how you doing how's it going how was the weekend what's going you know what i mean like it doesn't need to turn into Anything more than just talk about Josiah.

00:05:02 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 6:

So I'm there to pick up Josiah, and I can't beat the horn for him to run out and get in the car? No, you can't.

00:05:08 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 5:

That's the issue? Well, I think that it seems very impersonal. Does she walk up to your door to go get Josiah? No. What do you mean? So she's telling you that she doesn't watch.

00:05:18 - 00:05:23 | Speaker 6:

He just stands by the door and watches, and when she's there, he runs out. Yeah, or she might not even open the door.

00:05:23 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 5:

Josiah just comes out. So how does Josiah know when to walk out?

00:05:27 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 6:

Either I guess I'll be, or like I said, I'll say.

00:05:29 - 00:05:32 | Speaker 5:

How does Josiah know to walk out to her? When she's there.

00:05:32 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 6:

She'll probably tell him, your dad's outside. No, no, no. For her and your house. Oh, yeah. Does she walk up to your door? No, so she has a home. I have an apartment. So I have to, like, walk out and, like, take him through a gate in order for him to get out. Okay.

00:05:46 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 5:

So then I take back what I said. Maybe she should do the same for you and walk Josiah out to you. But you shouldn't be.

00:05:54 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 6:

She doesn't have to. He can just run out himself. He's 12 years old. He can walk out the door. What's up, LaVita?

00:06:01 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 1:

Hey, Mojo, I love y'all. Good morning. Good morning, LaVita. I love you, too. Thank you. Kev, let me just say this. I love you. You gave me the name Excalibur a few radio shows back. But I just want to say, you remind me of my ex. I understand how you feel about garbage being in a can that's not yours. But if it's a problem, just accept it. Just let her be. Don't make a big deal of it. I love you, Kev. I just want to say that I love you, but you remind me of my ex. LaVita, I'm on your side.

00:06:32 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 5:

Do you like your ex or do you not like your ex? Well, he's an ex for a reason.

00:06:34 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 1:

I can't stand my ex.

00:06:39 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 6:

LaVita, I'm 100% with you. I didn't, maybe I could have acknowledged the text because I just brushed it off. I was like, this ain't even worth going down. But I haven't done it since. I haven't beeped the horn. I was like, okay, whatever you want to do, let's just do it that way. Keep the peace.

00:06:53 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 5:

What's up, Toya? Hi, it's Mojo in the morning.

00:06:55 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 4:

hey kev hey mojo hey shannon good morning um the city that i live in when i roll my big can to the curb they take the bags inside of it out and if it's loose garbage in there they will not take it they will leave it so it could be right she's saying that for that reason so but it's just a little fix and i do keep random bags in my car for garbage so that it is a thing okay i love y'all

00:07:24 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 5:

Wait, real quick. What about the beeping thing? What about the fact that he's so lazy, he can't even go up and get his son?

00:07:31 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 4:

Well, I don't think it's, no, to his defense. I got you, Kev. Don't worry. I don't think it's being lazy, but I think, like he said, this isn't a new parenting situation. So I think based on the relationship there, I think a little beep, beep, toot, toot is all right.

00:07:46 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 5:

A little beep, beep, toot, toot. What is that song? Beep, beep, toot, toot. What's up, Moni?

00:07:54 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 2:

Hi, it's Moni. Hi, Moni. He's on a roll today with him.

00:08:00 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 5:

Here she come now saying Moni, Moni. What's up, Moni?

00:08:04 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, first time caller. Moni on the phone.

00:08:09 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 5:

What's going on?

00:08:10 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

I'm calling into a radio station at all. Oh, wow. I was just calling because I don't, like, I live in a duplex in a house, but I don't really like it when my neighbors, like, have people come by and they beep the horn to get somebody rather than just calling. I feel like calling would be better because it's kind of impersonal. Just pick up the phone.

00:08:36 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's not a bad idea. I'd even like that better than the beep. Although somebody said Kevin needs to go get a Tesla because in Teslas you can switch the horns around and you can make your horn an air horn.

00:08:46 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 6:

Could you imagine if Kevin's out in front of your house? I'm having a real problem at that point.

00:08:52 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 5:

That would be hysterical. What's up, Lydia?

00:08:56 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 3:

Hey there, gang. How are you? Good. Hey, you know, I just feel like, you know, there's nothing wrong with what he's doing, putting the garbage in the garbage can. He's actually showing their child responsibility. And, you know, that goes a long way with these kids that are in divorced families, showing that they can be friends, showing that things can be easy. These things aren't major problems because what are they going to do when they have to deal with the real important things in life?

00:09:35 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 5:

Maybe Josiah should take that garbage in with him and throw it in her garbage can inside.

00:09:39 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 6:

And she'd really be pissed.

00:09:41 - 00:09:45 | Speaker 5:

Why? You think so? Don't bring no trash in my house. Really? That's crazy. Why? That's so funny.

00:09:45 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 6:

Like, I don't care. No, no, no. Do you have stuff to throw in?

00:09:47 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 5:

But you heard that caller that said that maybe the town doesn't let her do it.

00:09:51 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 6:

In that case, I understand. But you do not need to bring trash from outside inside.

00:09:56 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 5:

What's going on? How you doing, Blake?

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Hey, how's it going?

00:10:00 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 7:

Good, what's up?

00:10:00 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 5:

So I just wanted to say that Kev just inspired me. I just dropped off my kids, and I beat the horn. There we go.

00:10:10 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 7:

You are not a smart man, Blake. You're going to cause for problems in that co-parenting relationship. Oh, that's bad. What's up, Danita?

00:10:21 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 2:

Hi, first time off. Oh, my gosh. Hey, Danita on the phone.

00:10:25 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 7:

What's up, Danita? We got to have a tracker.

00:10:27 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 2:

00:10:46 - 00:10:49 | Speaker 7:

Hi, Danina. That's great.

00:10:50 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 2:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:12:03 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 3:

I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, But it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be that you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years, we're kind of not out the picture. but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

00:12:48 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 1:
