Mojo in the Morning Show. Phone number 844-MOJO-LIVE. 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Text is 95500. I hate to go from all the happiness that we do on our show to now something that kind of brought you down a little earlier this morning. But you were talking earlier this morning with all of us off the air about what is the worst days of the month for you, Kevin?

00:02:10 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 8:

Oh, man. The days when Josiah goes back with his mom and he leaves me. you know shannon was talking about it earlier about you know having one week on one week off with parenting is that what you do yeah that's what we do now and i'm so blessed that his mom and i are at a place now where we can make that decision ourselves and not have the courts make a ruling because back in the day when josiah was younger that's what we did and i didn't have a full week with him it was like three or four days or something like that but now it i'm almost like i reach like a depressive state like i realize my energy level i realize how communicative i am even with sherelle it just it just sucks when he leaves especially after like a father's day weekend and i'm very present with josiah so i'm always playing games with him and we're hugging and we're talking so when he leaves you can really feel like this separation you were you

00:03:02 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 7:

were texting me on friday you were with josiah and he's playing video games and you're playing video games and i could see the two of you guys doing yeah you know having your fun and stuff like that it's almost kind of like when you have like a friend visit you you know like this and you're spending time together and all of a sudden you gotta like let them go i can only imagine shannon and kev how tough that must be yeah is that something that do you feel like you go

00:03:28 - 00:04:03 | Speaker 2:

depressive or you get a depressive state when you leave honest to god it guts me on sundays so we do Sunday to Sunday um and I have the hardest time Sunday afternoons when I let them go and like my house is super quiet yeah that's the biggest thing it's so weird it's you know Wes my fiance is the same he has a little bit of a different schedule but he calls it like the accordion home because sometimes your house is so full and it's loud and there's so much going on and then on Sunday it all of a sudden there it's like nothing yeah it's quiet and it's oh I hate it can I and

00:04:03 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 5:

you guys might already do this and if you don't maybe this is an idea but as a guy or as a kid of divorce i would have loved it if my parents had called me during those off weeks and just said hey you know how you doing just check it in i miss you you don't want to see you because i always thought hearing this this is incredible because i always thought when my dad left you know what i

00:04:24 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 8:

mean i always thought he was excited right party time right yeah yeah it's nothing like to your point i try my best um i used to feel like you know when josiah was growing up his mom and i didn't have the best relationship so there were times and i still believe this to be true that she would like see me calling and not answer times have changed and she does a great job of allowing me to talk to josiah now but there are still times where i reach out and there's no response or he has an ipad and i text or i reach out and there's no response sure so you just got to wait until you know your day comes and it sucks it sucks so the day that you

00:05:00 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 3:

guys do the transfers over have similar feels to it where as soon as they do you guys do you initiate the transfer or does the person who's getting them initiate the transfer? What do you mean? Like if say it's your week to get or you know Josiah do you go to pick him up at his mom's house? And then does she come and pick him up at your house? Is that how you do it or how do you guys do it? It would be heartbreaking for me to always be the person to have to drop or pick off because you're alone in your car but maybe almost that's therapeutic for you yeah i mean it's changed we

00:05:34 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 2:

used to have to pick up at the court station again well at the police station like that was court order yeah we had to pick up at the police station and then you know as we're maturing we talked about you know weeks ago about uh us sitting next to each other now so we haven't done a police station in maybe like a year or so like that but she'll so this past time she came

00:05:50 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

to my house and got him great so and they all drop him did josiah was he old enough to understand that that was a police station that you guys were doing it in the parking lot of or i'm sure

00:05:58 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 2:

There are police cars everywhere It was never really discussed or anything like that But I'm sure he did know

00:06:03 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 3:

How do you do it Shannon Does their dad come And get him or do you Drop him off It depends

00:06:12 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 4:

And what's going on We don't really have a set time either Sometimes Andrew will have plans throughout the day And he won't be able to take him until after dinner Or vice versa So we just know Sunday is the day Literally I hate Sundays

00:06:27 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 3:

i hate it's fridays for us yeah wow can i can i tell you that you know i was fortunate enough to my that you know my parents never uh get divorced but my best buddy's parents were divorced and as a friend of somebody who was going through that his dad and mom didn't live by each other mom lived by us dad lived like four towns over so it was like 45 minutes away it was so depressing as a friend so it's nice that you know and i'm sure in your guys's cases they probably do they have friends and stuff in the areas and stuff so they can still play with because as the friend of seeing my friends go away i felt depressed like i hated that and then when you would find

00:07:11 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 2:

out that the parents would did he just send you a text text me and said well i texted him last night at 10 34 i said i love you yo that's one of my thing that's he just said i love you too Can we talk to him on the radio? He must be watching. Let me see. It's like a FaceTime type of audio.

00:07:26 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 3:

If you want to FaceTime him, I'll put it through the board here. Does he watch?

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 4:

Or does he listen to the show?

00:07:31 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 3:

Because you guys got to hear Josiah. He is so smart. Honestly, he sounds like a little man when he's talking. But, yeah, it's got to be very, very tough. Honestly, if it wasn't tough, I would worry about you guys. I hate to say that, but, and I, cause I know that you love, you know, the fact that they are in a good place when they go, go to their parents' house, but it's still, it's like,

00:07:59 - 00:08:24 | Speaker 4:

and that's something that I had to work on a ton because I am super bad about hiding my emotions and I'm a very emotional person. So I've had to be really mindful, especially recently now that Lucy is, she's nine and she's like very intuitive. I've had to say like, she knows I'm sad, but I've had to tell her, I love that you have the best time at dad's house. That makes me so happy that you love mom's house and you love dad's house. We're inside. I'm like, please don't go.

00:08:24 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:08:25 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 4:

You know?

00:08:26 - 00:08:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I was going to say, you know, you don't want them to see that you're sad, but it's nice that they know that you do miss them. What's up, Misfit Ron?

00:08:35 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

Hey, it's Ron. I just wanted to call in because what Kev was talking about, I know that exact feeling. Like when your kid goes back to their parents and you don't have any, well, maybe you do have other kids, but maybe you don't. But it's like your house is empty.

00:08:53 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 3:

So how do you know that exact feeling, Ron?

00:08:56 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

Because I have that same situation. When Pookie, actually, my daughter, I give her nickname Pookie. Okay. But anyways, but when my daughter goes to her mom, I know what it's like.

00:09:09 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 3:

So when Pookie leaves you and goes back to her mom's house, do you just sit in silence? Are you sad at home? What's your thing?

00:09:18 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 1:

Bored as hell.

00:09:19 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 3:

Really?

00:09:20 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 1:

Bored as hell.

00:09:20 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 3:

Bored. How often do you get your daughter?

00:09:25 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 1:

On the weekends and then like two days during the week. So like when she goes back to her mom's after the weekend, especially of having fun, it's just like.

00:09:35 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 3:

Does that make it harder? because i do know you know both you guys uh shannon and kevin have uh the week on week off does it make it harder if you split it up because i i would wonder which one is easier on the kids

00:09:49 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 1:

but also easier on you yeah you know the week on the week on week off is better so there's not a lot of mixing but like what i usually do is Thank you.

00:10:00 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 5:

It's kind of funny, but I call her every day, like, when I know she gets home and just ask her just random stupid questions.

00:10:07 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 2:

Yeah.

00:10:07 - 00:10:09 | Speaker 5:

Just, how's your day or, like.

00:10:10 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Just to have her in your life every day. Thank you, Ron. I appreciate your call. What's up, Alyssa?

00:10:17 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Hey. I have kind of a similar but yet different situation because I have a sibling that gets involved. so in the summertime or during the school year my son goes every other weekend to go see his dad but then in the summer we do every other week so then we go from having him all the time to having to split him and my daughter's three so then on the weeks that he's gone she gets so sad and just makes everything hard and she plays differently and it's tough on that aspect as well yeah the

00:10:55 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 2:

The tough ones are the parenting where the one parent is out of town and then the kids have to go all summer long.

00:11:03 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I had that growing up. I had a stepbrother and stepsister that would come live with us the whole entire summer.

00:11:09 - 00:11:17 | Speaker 2:

And then for you, when you get older, you want to be home. Your home is usually where your whole year is, right? Ash, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:11:18 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 4:

Hi, good morning. I just, I texted in my almost four-year-old, she'll be four in October, met her dad for the first time a year ago this month. And she just, this past Friday, had her first ever overnight with him. And it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

00:11:40 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 2:

I bet. What were you doing that whole night? Were you just trying to get your mind off of it, or were you just sitting there crying?

00:11:48 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, well, I did cry. I told her, you know, if you want to come home at any point, just call. They called me about six times within three hours. And she did at one point ask to come home, but then two minutes later asked to watch Scooby-Doo, and she was fine.

00:12:06 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's got to be tough, especially when, you know, it's something that's new. The first time doing it, it's got to be the toughest. A texter here that I just love is 517 who says, Thank you for talking about this because I am sad every single time this happens with us. And I think I'm the only one to hear you guys talking about that makes me feel good. And another texter here says, I'm the child of divorce. I listen to you guys all the time. I am only 17 years old and I cry every time I leave my mom or my dad.

00:12:42 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah.

00:12:43 - 00:12:44 | Speaker 2:

What's up, Tara?

00:12:44 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 3:

hi so i'm sorry i'm really emotional thank you guys for bringing this up and uh yeah that's hard um i'm the i'm the child of a divorced family and i'm divorced i have a nine year old um but her dad and i came up with we were one week on one week off and it was just really hard on her because she has um step siblings at her dad's house and she's an only child at my house my husband and i have actually been struggling with infertility for a year now um so it's really hard for her so we came up with five days at mom five days at dad's two days at mom two days at dad's and then we kind of just start rotation over it was hard to get used to at first as the parent but she absolutely loved it um she felt like it was more of a blend of both families rather than missing you know everything and just honestly being communicative and being open and honest with the other parents um it's great when you can blend and share things together for the kiddos because honestly it's all about the kiddos well that's the thing i was going to

00:13:56 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 2:

ask it's got to be i know in shannon's case where they go to their dads and you know uh they've got two other siblings that are be there and then they go to yours and they got two other siblings there yeah all the you know situations where the kids are all together same time because imagine what it'd be like for a kid if you're all of a sudden your brother or your sister just leaves you know and has to go over to somewhere else right so it's it's got to be tough even for the kids when

00:14:25 - 00:14:55 | Speaker 1:

they start transferring yeah and that's going to be a huge change for us in the next year you know andrew's getting married here in a couple of days um and so they're gonna that's going to be a different situation as his fiance and her kids move in and then wes and i i swear we are getting married at some point um and then and then his kids will move it's going to be really interesting it's going to it's going to be a lot of changes to the situation kevin bringing a new baby that's That's exactly what I was going to say, and kind of having a new baby around.

00:14:55 - 00:14:58 | Speaker 2:

He's really excited to be a big brother, too. That's cool.

00:14:59 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 1:

Well.

00:15:00 - 00:15:09 | Speaker 3:

I just want you guys to know this. When you guys take days off or vacation days, I get very sad. No, you don't. Because you're taking those vacation days, too. Come on.

00:15:09 - 00:15:18 | Speaker 4:

Okay? When your cheating ex gets cheated on, another world-famous Moly Roses happens tomorrow morning at 7 and 9 on Mojo in the Morning.

00:15:18 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 3:

What people don't understand is when everybody takes vacation days, we all do it and we transfer over at the McDonald's. For some reason, that was where my parents always did it at the McDonald's. I'm glad I see it all the time. Kids love it. Get him a Happy Meal slushie.

00:15:32 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. That's when my mom had to get me a Happy Meal because this is going to be sad, but my dad just didn't show up. So she would be like, get him a McFlurry.

00:15:39 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Mike.

00:15:39 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 1:

Oh, God.

00:15:40 - 00:15:42 | Speaker 5:

There's a lot of trauma there. Wow.
