Download the Moto Casino app today. Yesterday on our show, the new guy, Kev, brought up something very interesting that caused for some problems at home.

00:01:41 - 00:01:41 | Unknown:

Oh, no.

00:01:42 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 4:

It's, by the way, Ben. Let's see here. He worked last week for five days, and then he's done what? Oh, so on day number six of being in the studio with us and on the air with us, Kev got in trouble by his girlfriend.

00:01:57 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 1:

What? I was not here. Someone needs to catch me up.

00:02:01 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 2:

They didn't cover this in orientation.

00:02:03 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 4:

They did not go on. So we were talking about Kev's son, and for those that don't know, Kev has a son, and he has a son with a woman who in a second here, you're going to actually hear her voice because it was really wild because his baby's mom, his son's mom, ended up calling into the show yesterday.

00:02:24 - 00:02:25 | Speaker 2:

Oh, okay.

00:02:25 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 4:

This was actually pretty intense. You missed this. You were away yesterday. You know what? I'm going to play this.

00:02:29 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 3:

I have show FOMO.

00:02:30 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 4:

I'm going to play this for you. Okay. But here's the problem. Kev learned the hard way that you don't have the baby mama on before you have the girlfriend on or the fiance, the soon-to-be fiance, the soon-to-be wife.

00:02:44 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 2:

I should have knew this. I should have known this.

00:02:47 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. This was not a smart move on this one. I was feeling this one for you. And when I went home and I talked to Chelsea about this, she said, because we're going to dinner this week, right? So we're going to dinner this week And she's like Maybe it should just be Kevin's girlfriend Sherelle and I Going to dinner Can you imagine Chelsea schooling her on stuff I think that would be smart My wife would be good at that So this is yesterday So we were talking Shannon This actually references you Talking about how you and your child's dad Your ex-husband Do a great job of co-parenting and you guys actually will go to events and there will be times you guys will sit together so that it makes it more normal for the kids. Well, here's Kev talking about his dilemma with his.

00:03:34 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 2:

Josiah's mom and I have never been together. So Josiah has never seen or felt or experienced what it is to have both parents there to love you at the same time, support you at the same time, show up to events at the same time. He's never had that. and he's made mention of it several times. I remember one time when we were deciding what school to take him to, I just had to be like kindergarten or something like that. Her and I showed up separately. He was with me, and immediately when he saw his mom, he grabbed both of our hands and got in the middle of us. And that's a moment I'll never forget. He's always kind of longed for that and yearned for that. So this all comes up because this Saturday, and big shout-out to the biggest in the game. That's a nickname for my son, Josiah. He is really into art, and he's into stop-motion design and animation, and he won the Best of Show Award at the 55th Michigan Student Film Festival on this Saturday.

00:04:31 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 6:

Whoa, that's unbelievable.

00:04:33 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's pretty dope. So this Saturday, we'll be at the DIA. He'll go on stage. He'll get his award and that whole thing. So when Shannon was talking about graduation and her husband, love that so much, immediately I fast-forwarded my brain and my life to this Saturday. and this being such a huge moment in josiah's life i don't want to have happen what happened what's happened years and years and years especially last year when he graduated fourth grade he walks on stage and he's got to look in both directions

00:05:00 - 00:05:10 | Speaker 4:

to try to see my side of the family and mom's side of the family. And when you get off of the stage, well, who do I run to first? Do I run to mom first? Do I run to dad first? And there's a lot of pressure, I feel like.

00:05:10 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 3:

Who does he typically run to first?

00:05:13 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 4:

Mom.

00:05:14 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 3:

He does, okay.

00:05:14 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but it depends, though, because it just depends.

00:05:17 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 3:

Do you ever have, like, a candy bar in your hand?

00:05:21 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 4:

Open up my trench coat with all of his favorite things inside.

00:05:25 - 00:05:35 | Speaker 3:

I actually do that with my dogs. I actually have to prove to Chelsea that they like me. I'll get treats out of the little jar that she's got of dog treats.

00:05:35 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 4:

You got a finger full of peanut butter.

00:05:37 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 3:

Okay. So you're thinking about sitting next year?

00:05:42 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 4:

I'm ready to be done with the pettiness, man. Like, it's time to choose Joe. And whatever we're feeling, put it to the side and just like, let's just sit together.

00:05:50 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 3:

I hate to call her this because I don't know her name and I don't want her to- Should we give her a name? Well, only if it's okay with her, but can I call her baby mama? No, I don't like that. No? How about Josiah's mom? Beautiful. There you go. Josiah's mom. So does Josiah's mom want to sit next to you? I have no idea.

00:06:09 - 00:06:16 | Speaker 4:

Because she may not want to sit next to you. Honestly, so I was going to call her this week and say, like, hey, like, how do you feel if we just all sit together?

00:06:17 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:06:17 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 4:

And we don't have to lie. I don't know if it'll be issues, because I feel like we're cordial, cordial, cordially invited. That's a big word for us here on the radio. I feel like we're cordial, but there is still, like, that underlining energy that you just feel it.

00:06:32 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 3:

Does yours and her families get along with each other? Because that's got to be something, too.

00:06:38 - 00:06:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. Everybody's cool for the most part. Like, there's no beef. There's no drama. It's just kind of like one of those things where you don't address it. Yeah. Then it doesn't get addressed.

00:06:46 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 3:

Okay. So, this is interesting. So, and by the way, I want to hear both sides of this. I want to hear people that their parents can't sit in the same area together because maybe they just would end up in a fight with each other. KP, how does it work in your family with your mom and dad who have been divorced for some time at graduation for your brother? Did dad and mom both stay by each other?

00:07:12 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 1:

No, they do not sit by each other. And honestly, it's been like that since my dad left when she was pregnant. So we do separate things. Plus my mom, like, I mean, dad goes to some things, but mom is basically the cheerleader for everything that we do. She goes to everything, yeah. Yeah.

00:07:27 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

So would it be weird to you if you looked out in the audience, okay, you're doing your thing, whatever, and you looked out and saw them sitting next to each other? Because I know your mom's got a boyfriend. Your dad's got a wife, too, doesn't he? Yes, yeah. So would it be weird if the four of them were sitting by each other?

00:07:41 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 1:

So this actually happened once, and it was when I graduated college a couple years ago. From Oakland U? Yeah, and it was a drive-in graduation, and it was so awkward because both my mom and dad and me were in the same car, and that had not happened in, like, five years. Wow. So it was, like, so interesting, and it was, like, small talk between my mom and dad, and then we were like, hey, you want to get ice cream after? And I'm like, heck, no.

00:08:09 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

That's another layer, because after you have these celebratory events, like, do you guys go celebrate afterwards?

00:08:16 - 00:08:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. What do you do? By the way, that's interesting that you had to do a drive-thru one because we did so many drive-thru weddings that year, I remember, as a show. I could not imagine. Was he in the passenger seat?

00:08:27 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 1:

My dad was in the back and my mom was in the front driving.

00:08:30 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 3:

I love it. Your mom's the boss.

00:08:32 - 00:08:33 | Unknown:

Get in the back.

00:08:33 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

Mama KP. Dad, you'd be lucky if you were in the trunk. Right. Right. Rob, thoughts on this? Say hi to Kev and give him some thoughts.

00:08:45 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Kev. What up, Rob? Welcome to the show.

00:08:47 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 4:

Thanks, bro.

00:08:47 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 2:

It's been great hearing you on here. I just want to say I think it's a good idea to let go of the petty. I think it's going to make things better for you, easier for you, happier for your son. I had to do the same thing with my ex-wife.

00:09:02 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 4:

How did you approach that conversation?

00:09:07 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 2:

It's really hard. I'm the single dad. I have my kids. She lives out of state. It's taken a lot of work. I just kind of had to suck it up Yeah And just accept her around Good for you by the way

00:09:23 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 3:

On you know Being a solid guy like that

00:09:28 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 2:

Well I appreciate it And I think that It shows a lot for you that you're even debating Doing this for your son And I think it'll make everything better for all of you

00:09:38 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 3:

That's cool Thank you so much Rob What's up Anika Well I know but I think I always Grew up your name don't I

00:09:47 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 2:

You do but Kev just said it right I think Anika The new guy has it right That's me

00:09:55 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 3:

That's me

00:10:00 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 4:

uh cab i haven't gotten to talk to you yet uh but welcome to the show welcome to the the craziness that is mojo in the morning um but i was gonna say i'll just ask her like it can't hurt to just ask her and bring up why you're asking i'm not that's my two-year-old screaming at me in the background um but it can't hurt to ask her to like sit together and just explain why i did not grow up technically with divorced parents or separated parents um although they probably should have been um but my dad wasn't around for a lot of my childhood with traveling for work and stuff and i would have even if they were apart would have loved for them to be at those moments together and not have to look at two different areas of audience to see them and stuff but i really think it can't hurt to ask yeah that's a good point you know what don't

00:11:01 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 2:

don't leave her feel uncomfortable talk ahead of time like you planned on doing and then leave it up to to you know her and just say there's a listen i think everything you said on the air was perfect i would like josiah to look to one spot in the in the room and not to two and um let me interrupt this real quick i'm gonna interrupt this i'm sorry that was actually from yesterday's show which by the way the full podcast you can actually go check out on our mojo in the morning show podcast the reason why i want to stop it right now because i wanted to tell and shannon wasn't with us yesterday so you didn't get a chance to hear this but this is the part that caught me off guard and i want you to you know i already i'm a stumbling fool i you know stutter a lot and i probably at times don't know what to say you know So, this was the part that caught me off guard. Listen to, as we're talking to Kev, our new co-worker here. See, I'm stumbling there. Listen to who called up the show.

00:12:03 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 1:

Okay, okay.

00:12:05 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 2:

Jasmine.

00:12:06 - 00:12:07 | Unknown:

How are you?

00:12:07 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome. We're just learning about Kev, so we didn't, I didn't know who it was when we was picking it up here, but this is Josiah's mom. Josiah, by the way, is a superstar, incredibly good-looking young man. You've done good, Mom. Thank you. And I don't know if you got to hear the whole first start of this, but Kevin was wondering about Josiah's big day on Saturday. Kevin?

00:12:37 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, so throughout Joe's life, he's made mention of wanting, I guess, us to be together or wanting to be in a situation where he has both parents there to support him equally and at the same time and we've never really sat next to each other for like graduations and big events and moments like that and I immediately thought of his fourth grade graduation where we were like on two totally different sides of the area and just seeing Josiah like have to look on one side and look on the other and then kind of thinking about when he gets off of stage if he has to consider who to run first to It's just a lot of pressure and stuff that I feel like we both are at a point where we can sit next to each other and show that unity for Josiah. So how would you feel if we sat next to each other, whoever comes and supports Josiah, but we all have one section this Saturday when he wins his best in show award?

00:13:29 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 3:

I would love that, actually. You said a good point, too, with having both parents on one side and not knowing where to go after he's on the stage. So, yeah.

00:13:39 - 00:14:00 | Speaker 2:

Although Kevin did admit that you win all the time When he comes off the stage Oh yeah By the way, it would be Josiah's cheering section You know how In sports In high schools and stuff like that You have the home side The visitor side You got Josiah's side

00:14:00 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 1:

I give you guys a lot of credit

00:14:05 - 00:14:20 | Speaker 2:

First off, I give you Jasmine A lot of credit because I cannot imagine going on a radio show to sit there and answer a question like that. Yes, ma'am. And it didn't sound like you even hesitated for a second. I mean, you knew what you'd want for Josiah.

00:14:20 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 3:

Of course. He liked him first.

00:14:23 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 2:

And I give you a lot of credit, Kevin, for actually growing up and sitting right by her, for God's sakes.

00:14:31 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 4:

Well, Jasmine, is Josiah a mama's boy? Yes, of course.

00:14:35 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 2:

Is he also a daddy's boy, though? Yes, of course. Listen, I think that that's awesome that you guys do it. I always have commended Shannon and Andrew for the way that they've done a great job of this. And I know not every situation is like that. And I honestly, you know, would be, God forbid, probably the petty person if.

00:15:00 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 5:

Chelsea and I got divorced and be like, I'm not – or I'd be sitting next to Chelsea with my 25-year-old girlfriend.

00:15:06 - 00:15:10 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my – Mojo. Mojo, no.

00:15:10 - 00:15:18 | Speaker 5:

But I think you guys are putting the kids first, and I think that it's great that you're doing that. And, Jasmine, thank you for going on with us.

00:15:19 - 00:15:20 | Speaker 2:

Oh, of course. Anytime. Thank you.

00:15:21 - 00:15:34 | Speaker 5:

And we would like to have you back on to play a game of Who Knows Him Best. Yes. That's the part, by the way, I should have cut off here. Okay. This is before I realized that Kev was in trouble. That's not going to happen. That was awesome, by the way.

00:15:34 - 00:15:35 | Speaker 6:

It sounded like it went really, really well, though.

00:15:36 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean, it sounded great.

00:15:38 - 00:15:38 | Speaker 6:

That's a big step.

00:15:39 - 00:15:49 | Speaker 4:

I'm really hoping Saturday. Why are you looking at me like that? I'm just really hoping Saturday everything goes as great as it sounded yesterday. Update. Update on Monday. Stay tuned. Oh, okay. All right.

00:15:50 - 00:16:03 | Speaker 5:

If it's for Josiah, then it will go. It will go great. That's a fact. Positive vibes. Mackenzie, that was yesterday's show. and you can listen to the full podcast because some listeners had some really good pieces of advice, but you were hearing that for the first time. And what did you want to say?

00:16:04 - 00:16:22 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, so I have three boys and my oldest son has a different dad than the youngest two. But both of the dads, we all do everything together. The oldest son, his dad is married and then the other one has a girlfriend and we just celebrated a birthday together.

00:16:23 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 5:

Wow, so you guys actually keep it all together for the kids.

00:16:26 - 00:16:35 | Speaker 2:

Yes, and we also, the oldest son's dad lives out of town, and they came into town, and we actually went to a Mud Hens game all together, too.

00:16:36 - 00:16:39 | Speaker 5:

That's cool. Do you let them stay at your house at all, or is that like pushing it?

00:16:39 - 00:16:49 | Speaker 2:

Yeah. Yes, so we, when my youngest two's dad and I were together, we actually went out of town and stayed at their house.

00:16:49 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 5:

Oh, wow. Did they give you a comfortable bed, or was it like a semi-comfortable bed?

00:16:54 - 00:16:56 | Speaker 2:

No, it was a comfortable bed.

00:16:56 - 00:17:08 | Speaker 5:

Because at least you've got to do it a little bit. You know, you can't, like, completely give the exes, like, good stuff. You've got to be able to give them, like, maybe a bed that, like, is an old bed that's got a little sag in it from when you guys were, you know, doing things.

00:17:08 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 3:
