You may be the only person that has ever done it in Spanx on the field. Could you imagine? Welcome to the show that we're broadcasting. I don't know how the audience, how does it sound, by the way? Are we sounding okay today? I just want to make sure we have broadcast capabilities for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. But I ain't going to lie. Sometimes when I do these live broadcasts in all the years that I've been broadcasting, it's a toss-up. I have no idea what it sounds like out there in radio land. So will you call us and tell us how the microphones sound? This is the actual live mic check that we do. So I guess what we're doing here today is, honestly, I have no idea. Colleen, our boss, the president of iHeart Media Michigan, Colleen Grant, we love her to death. She never asks us to do anything. She says, I am on the board of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and I would be forever grateful if you guys would broadcast your show live from Ford Field, which I thought, oh, this is kind of cool. I'm thinking, during a Lions game? Yeah. No. No. On a Thursday in November in front of a bunch of future broadcasters. Which is so cool. And I thought, did you clear it through the other people at the Michigan Association of Broadcasters?

Do they want us? Are we good examples?

Have they heard the content of this radio program? Are you sure you don't want just Shannon? Yeah. By the way, Shannon will speak to them later today. I'm honored.

It's funny because in all the years that I have been broadcasting, I have never been asked to broadcast from any association of any broadcasters. Matter of fact, I've been told not to broadcast from associations of broadcasters. But here we are.

Matter of fact, we've been celebrating you losing awards for associations of broadcasters.

By the way, if you're wondering where Kev is, because Kev would be the energy to this whole thing. Kev called in sick this morning. He wasn't feeling good yesterday. He actually told us, but he didn't want to let us down, he says. I was on the phone with him for 30 minutes this morning at 4 a.m. And he was like, I feel like I'm letting the team down. I don't want to do this. It's so funny. All I kept thinking the whole time, the entire time, is I've never had anybody that for 30 minutes was trying to talk himself out of calling his sick. And he sounded not great.

He didn't feel well yesterday, you could tell.

So he was like, I feel bad. I feel like I'm letting everybody down and everything. And I said to him, Michael Jordan would have played. oh you're so mean he had the flu game okay lebron you know you want to be lebron you can be lebron hopefully i like it i'm michael jordan i love it by the way how do we sound now do we sound better

Well, now that I have my radio turned down and I can only hear you guys live, it's better on the phone. So I'm assuming if I can hear you on the phone, it's probably better on the radio.

Oh, my God. All right, I just want to make sure we sound okay today. We want to make sure. Here's the problem, Amber. We're kind of in a little bit of a weird place. This is a bunch of professional broadcasters, and, like, I'm walking up and down. I see Odyssey is going to be here, so I have no idea. Maybe, I don't know, maybe I get to see Mike Villeney. I love Mike Villeney, so I hope he's here. I saw that Midwest broadcasters, I think they own radio stations like Lansing and Grand Rapids. Those guys are here.

A lot of the colleges are sending people, too. So cool. Like, I see Grand Valley.

Yeah. I saw Lawrence Tech. I saw, I think, Michigan State.

Wayne State is over there.

Wayne State. So what it is, Amber, is I think that there's a bunch of high school broadcasters, like, you know, some of the kids from probably maybe Bloomfield Hills radio station, which they got a great radio station.

I did not know they had one.

Oh, they got a great one. That's cool. Honestly, they got better equipment than we do in our old building that we'll be getting out of. So thank God. But Amber, these guys are going to come down here, and they're going to see us, and they're going to say, maybe we should go to, like, medical school or something. You know?

Yeah, that law degree is looking a lot better.

What do you think? What do you think, Amber? Do you think that we'll entice them to continue to want to be a broadcaster? or do you think that these kids are going to nursing school at Madonna by the end of this whole thing?

I mean, it's a toss-up. However, I think you're going to lead them in the right direction. So I think radio is going to be in their calling if they continue to work with you guys.

So it's really wild. It's a VHS tapes of me on a show called Speaking of Sports, and we would sit around a round table, and we would talk about the high school sports games and stuff like that.

Did it air at, like, Sunday mornings at 4 a.m.?

No, it actually aired at primetime. It was at good times.
