Mojo in the Morning Show we have a big event that is coming up here very soon it is our Mojo in the Morning Naughty Moms Night Out yesterday we went to do a little planning and got a chance to hang out with people at the hotel that we're going to be doing this at it's going to be fun so be listening for that coming up here in the next couple of weeks but something happened to Lydia who Lydia does on our show the phone screening But she also does, you know, and helps us with our promotions and, you know, our charitable stuff and breaking into Christmas wish. So yesterday was you and I and Julie, and then I had to take off. But you got stuck in the parking garage.

Yeah. So you had left and I had left about 20 minutes after you and you had mentioned that you were a little bit tired. So I let you go on your way. And as I was walking out and entering the parking garage, I was really excited to get home because I wanted to take a nap, too. And I pulled out of my parking spot. I'm ready to go out, and I notice I don't have my parking ticket. So I'm like, hmm, I'm pretty sure I set it in the cup holder. So I'm digging around. I'm looking. It's not there. So I back my car up, and I pull it to the side, and I'm like, who am I going to call? I'm like, I need help. And then, you know, I couldn't call you. I called my mom.

I would have helped you from sleeping at that particular moment.

so I had to dig out of the inside of my car to find this ticket so I'm looking around I'm doing everything I can I was just thinking in my head I'm like am I going to be stuck here what am I going to do so I emptied out my whole center council I'm emptying out my glove box I'm digging under my seats I can't find it yeah until I open up my tote bag and what do I see it's like the golden ticket just sitting right in my tote bag it had been there the whole time it was there the

I always wonder when you go to the parking garage at the airport or if you're in a town like we were in Birmingham yesterday or Royal Oak or Grand Rapids, Toledo, and you get one of those parking tickets, if you don't have your parking ticket, what happens? Can you get out with your car or do you have to pay like a fee or something like that that's more than what you're supposed to be charged for parking?

I think they charge you the highest rate for the day. Because I know it's the same with turnpikes, too. Like, if you get off the Ohio turnpike and you don't have the little ticket, they charge you the highest, basically traveling the entire length of the highway. But what happens if you park— What about the airport?

Yeah, what if you park at the airport and you're there for days? Right. Will they charge you—

Will they charge you for a week, or what do they do?

That one's different because they have the cameras now with the license plate readers, so they know how much. Like if you call, you don't have your ticket or you can't find the credit card you entered, they'll come and they'll type in your license plate number and it'll tell them how long you stayed.

Parking garages freak me out because I am always the person that is stuck at the front and can't get out. I think I told this story about being in Grand Rapids like what, a week or so ago when we were there. I've always wanted, honestly, to do that. That would be the greatest. Just drive through one of those gates.

I know. Shannon would have been better. Actually, maybe I should replay it from earlier this morning in a little bit, or you've got to go listen to the podcast. But my experience leaving yesterday was a little different. I actually ran into a lady who dropped her sex toy out on the streets.

Well, yeah, and it came out of her bag.

Exactly. It came out shining in the sun, too. That was the other thing, too. It was a shiny one. Yes. Ta-da! I didn't mention exactly what it looked like, But it was one of those ones where I needed to put sunglasses on because it was shining so bright.

Am I the only person that is the biggest idiot? You can just answer that question, yes, before I even continue. That when I am leaving a parking garage or even when I'm going in sometimes, I feel like even though they only give you a little bit of space, I'm parked so far away that I have to undo my seatbelt, roll down my window, and open my door a little bit. Maybe I just have short arms because I'm short. They put them at an awkward angle.

Yeah, sometimes they're tough to exit. You've got to make a turn right before, and you've got to try to get close to the box, but there's all those concrete things.

Hey, I just was listening to you guys talk about the parking ticket stuff. Yeah. And I had an interesting story to tell about a time I tried to get out of paying one of those.

What did you do?

Well, I just said that I lost my ticket. And because I had been there for like two weeks and I was like, oh, I said my daughter, which I don't have any kids, but my daughter parks her car here or parks my car here and I'm here to pick it up. And they know I don't have the ticket. And long story short. Yeah, they have the like, wait, they take a picture of like your license plate. So it was like for almost 500 bucks. So they caught you in your lie.

Do you feel like it was karma getting back at you? yeah probably yeah that that sucks by the way that there's technology that nowadays you know

why does it suck they have they're robbing a business they're doing it robbing us charging us they are at the airport it is asinine oh absolutely but listen that lady was just trying to beat the system and we're like that sucks that they have things to catch people well guess who

pays for those people by the way those people downtown too those parking garage a lot of people

Wow. So they'll drive through the gate or they'll try to sell their spots because they buy a spot for a certain amount of time. And what do they do, just put a ticket or something in there?

No, so they'll try to literally force open the gate, like literally try to force open it so that they can, like, sell spots.

Somebody texted us from Grand Rapids and said that parking is so expensive there and it costs them so much because they work downtown. So what they do is they wait for the person in the car ahead of them to pay for the parking and then quickly drive their butt through, hoping that the thing doesn't come down.

You can do that?

Well, yeah, there's a sensor on the pavement so it doesn't come down on the hood of your car.
