mojo in the morning show so is this a friend of yours yep what was this a recent date or when was

00:02:40 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 7:

this well it was recent dates and my question is how is there somebody if you're not in a relationship already is there somebody that you have always dreamed of dating like that you have been wanting to. Scarlett Johansson. Okay. Yeah. Well, like reality, reality. So my wife,

00:02:58 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 6:

you think I'm going to answer that question in reality? I said you're not in a relationship.

00:03:01 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 7:

Oh, okay. You're not in a relationship. So one of my guy friends has had a crush on the same girl since they both graduated from college. They met in college, but they never dated. They ended up working at the same place, like their first big boy, big girl jobs right out of college. but and he has just been in love with her never had the guts to tell her in college and then even moving forward like as as the years went by it never worked out in terms of timing and I mean like when one of them was not in a relationship the other one was and that they went back and forth with that for a while he ended up getting married he's now divorced she just went through a divorce and finalized her divorce at the end of last year so with both of them being single he finally worked up the nerve to ask the love of his life out and in his head I mean he kind of knew her right they knew each other college they worked together but he had built this girl up to be his absolute soulmate he's been waiting for this for like more than a decade well they started going out they went out on a couple of dates and he has very quickly realized they are not compatible at all and he is so devastated because he's like i have waited for this for so long and he's like i thought this was it like i thought we would go out on a couple of dates and both of us would realize like you know like in he always says to me like this is this is my hallmark story and it was just there on opposite ends of the spectrum did you say that

00:04:34 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 6:

she also felt the same way too or did you or she not well i don't know i don't think that he that

00:04:40 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

she felt the same way in terms of he has like dreamed about dating her for years and years and years since they were both in college i don't know that she ever admitted that to him and i don't even know if he admitted it to her but he finally worked up the balls you know to ask her out and he's like she is not who i thought she was well you were telling that story it's interesting because

00:04:59 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I'd be

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 1:

I bet you that that happens a lot more than people probably even would even admit. But when you're telling that story, I wondered, do you think that his obsession with her might have led to the failure of his past relationships? Because he was always, you said, thinking of her.

00:05:21 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

Maybe.

00:05:21 - 00:05:37 | Speaker 1:

And would that have been kind of his? Like, did he find out that she was split up from, you know, her guy or divorced or whatever, that that caused him to be more likely or willing to want to leave his relationship? That's a good question to ask him.

00:05:37 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 2:

That's actually very interesting because he has been divorced for a few years now and he has just had like a very tumultuous dating situation since then. And this girl was married the whole time. Yeah, yeah. So I don't know if in his head he was constantly comparing every other girl that he went out with to, you know, the Jesus of girlfriends. Like, if he had this, who he had built this girl up to be, I don't know.

00:06:02 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 1:

What was so bad about her, did you ask?

00:06:04 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 2:

He didn't get specific. I'm trying to find his text. He didn't get specific, but he's just so bummed. He was so upset about it.

00:06:12 - 00:06:23 | Speaker 1:

um did did you didn't you have when you were when you got divorced didn't you have people that came to you and were like i remember when you were single i thought there was one guy that called

00:06:23 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 2:

and said something like there was no there was somebody that i went to high school with that reached out to me on instagram and said i have i've always had a crush on you would you be interested in going out this is your time i didn't even i don't think i responded wow so rude

00:06:38 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 1:

But you know how you can read an Instagram message, but it not so that you I think I did that. I think I did that. I hope I did that. I think I have shoot. I think I have heard more and more. And I mentioned this a week or so ago that I'm hearing more people that are getting divorced and now dating and then marrying people they went to school with that they grew up with. And I told the story last week about, you know, Jeff and Joan, two people that I went to school with, Obradovich, the Obradoviches, and how those guys ended up having that, where they both ended up, you know, in relationships, got divorced, and now they're married, and they got this happy relationship together. But I'm hearing more and more of that stuff. But it's interesting that this guy thought that this was going to be the love of his life, and she turned out to be the dud of his life because she wasn't what he thought. See that? You cannot judge a book by its cover.

00:07:34 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 3:

guys and gals uh what's up juliana hi hi so um my boyfriend now he for years tried to slide in the dms i never gave him the time of day and so one day i was like you know this could be the love of my life you know who knows and now we're together we've been together for four years and And we've been madly in love ever since our first date, and it all worked out. So all those times he's lit in the pants and I ignored him, I regret it now.

00:08:08 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. So was there anything about him, though, that was kind of like, eh, and I'm not into it once you finally got to know him?

00:08:15 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 3:

So not really. We have so much in common. We're like the same person, just different genders.

00:08:23 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 1:

Really? Is that a good thing? Do you really need to be the same person?

00:08:26 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 3:

that's that's good to be the same person um i think so yeah i mean there's a few things that you know he doesn't get like cleaning and stuff but like everything else we're the same exact person and we're like i think we're perfect for each other we don't fight we don't argue

00:08:46 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

nothing really bad happens did you were you ever tempted while you were in another relationship to get with him?

00:08:54 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 3:

So, no, not really. I always thought he wasn't my type. And I just, you know, I actually dated his best friend at one point. And it didn't work out. It was a very short relationship. And then years later, he was just like, you know, still sliding in the DMs trying to shoot a shot.

00:09:14 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 1:

So Mike brought up something. He was going to bring it up. And you said you'd never fight. Is that How new in the relationship are you guys

00:09:23 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 3:

We've been together almost four years

00:09:26 - 00:09:28 | Speaker 1:

Wow and you've never fought in four years

00:09:28 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

I mean we fought Trust me we fought but we don't Fight We nitpick at each other

00:09:36 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 4:

That's it

00:09:37 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 3:

We joke we crack jokes about each other Like we don't really fight Or give each other like a tone We more go about Things like in a funny way Like make fun of each other for not being able to clean up right or something like that and just laugh about it and then move on.

00:09:56 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

Mike brings up an interesting point. If you don't fight, that makes...

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 5:

wonder about that people that don't have arguments but i know couples that say that they never fight

00:10:04 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 3:

but i feel like you have you have to at some point otherwise it's and it could be wrong otherwise the big one's coming yeah yeah and the rest of that's just passive aggressive behavior

00:10:12 - 00:10:26 | Speaker 1:

that's going to lead up to to that i hate fighting but i think that a lot like i've noticed with wes and i if we have a disagreement about something like you go you always grow from that that's why i don't understand couples who say they don't fight i'm like how do you grow yeah how do you

00:10:26 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 5:

guys have makeup sex if you never fight you know that's usually the best kind what's up uh jay uh jay is it jack or jake jake jake hi jake hi so um just want to say i love you guys i've listened

00:10:41 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 4:

to you ever since i lived up north and came back down here love you guys thank you so my fiance that i actually and she's my fiance now she uh i met her one time and i was like man i love her eyes there was something about her eyes that i loved and it was just like yep she's gonna be the one i'm going for and it actually took four years of just hanging out with her on her birthday for her to finally say oh okay we can try something out and then i realized she loves to wear the pants in the relationship i'm just like well this is something we're gonna have to get over honey and it's it's worked out now we're still together what do you mean by i'm wearing

00:11:22 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 5:

The pants in that relationship Like in what way

00:11:25 - 00:11:44 | Speaker 4:

It came down to like I had my phone bills I had to pay And she's like no I'm paying the bills I'm doing this I'm like oh okay And we got Kids and I'm like honey do you Want to go work and she No I'm staying home with the kids You're going to go work okay that's what We're doing

00:11:44 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 5:

By the way I don't know if that necessarily is wear the pants in the relationship She sounds like she's just A fun person to be around

00:11:52 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 4:

Oh, let me tell you, she is. She's a who. And don't make her mad at a bar. She'll get at you.

00:11:58 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 5:

You're really. Honestly, dude, I'm afraid for you. What you've described of her so far, it sounds to me like you better sleep with one eye open.

00:12:07 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 4:

Okay, so it gets this far, right? So my uncle knew what my birthday present was going to be. And I said, hey, you know, it's guy code. What am I getting for my birthday? And he said, Jake, you know I'm more scared of her than I am you.

00:12:21 - 00:12:29 | Speaker 5:

Hey, call twice if you need help. Listen, when she finds out you called us and said all this stuff, you're going to be punished.

00:12:30 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 4:

Oh, no. It's going to be a fun time when I get home.

00:12:33 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 5:

I bet it is. Good luck, Jake. God bless you. Call us tomorrow and tell us how things went, Jake.

00:12:38 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 3:

Get a wellness check. I will. I will.

00:12:41 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God.

00:12:42 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 6:

Call every day, please.

00:12:43 - 00:12:55 | Speaker 5:

At first, I thought we were going to come down on the guy when he said that. I'm wearing the pants in the van. And now I'm realizing that it was nothing to do with wearing the pants in the mail. I was like, she's pretty rough, huh? What's up, Kelly?

00:12:56 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 2:

Hey, I just wanted to call in and make a comment about going back to your high school sweetheart or someone that you knew. So after 20 years of being apart, we went to high school together and junior high together. He got married, had two kids, got divorced, and then started messaging me on Facebook. And we've been married for 10 years ever since.

00:13:17 - 00:13:25 | Speaker 5:

That's wild. And so this is somebody you went to high school with. You guys, you know, crushed on each other back then, and now you guys blended your families together.

00:13:26 - 00:13:32 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, he swears that he talked to me in high school. We had the same circle of friends, but I swear he never spoke to me.

00:13:32 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 5:

You got to go to your reunion, don't you? Because everybody needs to see that you guys are finally together.

00:13:38 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 2:

Correct, correct, and everybody loves it. Everybody from high school was there for the wedding, and they all loved it. What high school? Anchor Bay.

00:13:46 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 5:

Anchor Bay. That's a, you know, and that's a close knit community there too. I will say this to you that I went to an all guys Catholic school, but the girls that were down the street from us at the all girls school, like we had like our group that was that way, you know, crushes and stuff like that. And about four people that I went to school with got married to the girls that they were dating in high school. Four? Four. Yes. Four of them still, still to this day, still married. And, you know, it's why it's wild because, you know, you'll keep in touch with them and you'll you'll be like, man, did you guys ever want to, like, you know, try something else? Like, I mean, but they've been together since high school.

00:14:25 - 00:14:30 | Speaker 6:

I really should have tried to find a husband in college. I feel like once you get out of college.

00:14:31 - 00:14:31 | Speaker 5:

Really?

00:14:31 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 6:

You're screwed. Yeah.

00:14:33 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 5:

Why don't you just go back to school and take a class?

00:14:36 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 6:

Because I literally. So last week I was speaking at the University of Toledo in one of the classes. And I looked around and I said, y'all are, y'all are in college? And they're like, uh-huh. They look like babies. Babies. Every once in a while, I'll see what is clearly a 15 and a half year old driving around with their, their temps. And I'm like, get, get out, get in the backseat and get in a car seat. Get out. What are you?

00:15:00 - 00:15:06 | Speaker 5:

But what about one of those adult education night classes? You could find your future sugar daddy in there. Date a professor.

00:15:07 - 00:15:11 | Speaker 2:

That I would do. I have a weird teacher complex. I would love that.
