All right, it's Mojo on the Morning Show. So Lydia got pulled over by the cops this weekend and bawled crying. Did it work to help her get out of a ticket? We're going to find out right now. So what were you doing, Lydia? Were you speeding and you got pulled over?

00:02:50 - 00:02:54 | Speaker 8:

Yes, somebody said I was speeding, but for the sake of this.

00:02:54 - 00:03:01 | Speaker 5:

yeah not if you were speeding yeah don't admit to anything right say verbally you don't um no

00:03:01 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 7:

i was coming home from kona grill on a girl's night out and future in metro boomin just came out with that song um like that yes yeah and i have been completely obsessed with it so i was just paying attention to the song and not to anything else around me and i ended up getting flicked by the cops and then i mean i guess i got pulled over what did you call it you got what she

00:03:26 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 5:

got flicked you got flicked by the cops is that wait is it is that the is that the term that's used when you get you're getting pulled a certain colloquialism is it so you gotta hit them with a little one too you know with the streets and the science i like that that's kind of cool shannon ever you ever use that i've never heard of no that's cool i like that all right you got flicked

00:03:46 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 7:

by the cops I got flicked by the cops and I immediately knew what I was doing wrong although I also had my phone in my hand so I didn't know which one he was getting me for and when he flicked me I was going 36 so I pulled over and he gets out of the car and he's like you know you're going 20 over and I'm like oh okay okay I've never been pulled over like in a while I haven't it's been like two or three years so it's been a minute and he walks away and he comes back and he was like all right i need to see your official insurance and i was like what do you mean and he's like do you actually pay for your insurance and i'm like yeah yeah i do he's like you gave me an expired insurance oh no i'm gonna have to ticket you for both speeding and for not showing me real proof of insurance but do you have you have a real intern like you have insurance that's up to date or no yeah you just had he handed him the wrong thing yeah so what a jerk though why and he still gave you a ticket for that well i started crying because immediately i felt guilty for something that i didn't intentionally do of course and i was kind of pleading with him i'm like you know i haven't had much on my record before like please like let me off and he's like nope it's the two tickets.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 4:

Like, you got to take it, and I'm letting you go. And I was like, okay, I'll have my lawyer, you know, go to court for me.

00:05:05 - 00:05:07 | Speaker 1:

Oh, geez, you pulled the lawyer thing out.

00:05:07 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 4:

I did, but I was crying at the same time. Oh, no. So I thought maybe he'd feel guilty for me. No! Why? Now when you pull out the lawyer card, he was like, what was that?

00:05:15 - 00:05:24 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, right. You got to just cry. You just got to go with it. You got to make, what you got to do is you got to say, my dad's going to kill me. He's going to be so upset.

00:05:24 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 2:

No, because I did that once. And I cried when the cop pulled me over. And he was like, it's just a ticket. And I was like, I'm not scared of you. I'm scared of my father.

00:05:37 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 3:

I have never, ever, ever gotten out of a ticket. Really? I mean, aside from sending my friend who is a lawyer to court to fight a ticket for me, but like with a police officer next, you know, next to my window, I've never gotten out of a ticket. Really? No, if I get pulled over, I get the ticket.

00:05:50 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 1:

Do you get pulled over much in that Buick? Because I would think that they would sit there and say.

00:05:54 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

I have not gotten pulled over in a really long time. Since I've been driving the Buick, I have not gotten pulled over.

00:05:58 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 1:

And I'm not joking by saying this.

00:06:00 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

Go see my friends at Moran Buick GMC. You will not get pulled over.

00:06:04 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 1:

I'm not going to lie. A buddy of mine who's a cop told me that they will see the car that's driving. And Lydia drives a car that is a very high-speeding car. Okay? She's got a Jeep Cherokee, right?

00:06:20 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

Yep.

00:06:21 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 1:

A Jeep Grand Cherokee. Shannon, if they see somebody like in a Buick, which is yours, which are very nice cars.

00:06:27 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 3:

By the way, best car I've ever owned, not joking.

00:06:30 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 1:

They sometimes won't pull over you because they just go, oh, it wasn't that going over.

00:06:36 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 3:

That poor mom's probably tired. She doesn't even know how fast she's going.

00:06:41 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

We don't want to mess with the mom van.

00:06:44 - 00:06:50 | Speaker 4:

I almost pulled the period card out on him. Like, oh, I'm trying to get home because I started my period. Why didn't you?

00:06:50 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I bet that works every time.

00:06:51 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 4:

Well, because then I would have had to show him my pants. No, you can't.

00:06:55 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 1:

I'm not going to ask to see your pants. That would be a funny response. Let me see your pants. Oh, my God. Prove it.

00:07:03 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 4:

You don't look like you got periods going on up in there.

00:07:07 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:07:07 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 4:

Show me. Let me see you.

00:07:10 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

I'll tell you what. As far as a guy's concerned, you talk about a girl's period, I'll let you do whatever you want. You want a day off from work? All right, go ahead. Whatever. I'm not going to actually mess with you. Facts. I'm shutting down after that. Yeah. That's not going to happen. I'll improve it next time. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548 is our telephone number. Lydia cried while getting pulled over with the cops. And she still got the ticket. What did she do wrong? What's the story here? Come on now. We know what she did wrong.

00:07:40 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 4:

I did do something wrong.

00:07:41 - 00:07:43 | Speaker 1:

What? You pulled the lawyer card.

00:07:43 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 4:

Well, before that, I mean, I was speeding. Okay. Fair enough.

00:07:49 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 1:

But did you pull Attitude, though?

00:07:52 - 00:08:08 | Speaker 4:

No. i was so sad and scared that i and i was really polite with him i have to be honest like i was asking him if it was okay that i reached over to pull out you know my insurance card yeah i was telling him yeah that you know i was just telling him where i was placing my hands because i get

00:08:08 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

scared of that stuff yeah as you should that's really respectful yeah what's going on uh mojo in the morning hi how are you good how are you good what's happening have you ever gotten out

00:08:18 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 6:

a ticket by doing a little tears i have i told them i was on my period oh you did the period

00:08:25 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 1:

worked i did yep it did work so what did you say what did you say you said you were racing to go

00:08:32 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 6:

and get home because you were having your period i just said that i my period was going through my pants and that i had to get home and he said okay drive safe wow i want to do that works that's

00:08:50 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 1:

amazing what's up mojo in the morning hi hey hi sam hi what's going on it's here um i actually

00:08:59 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 5:

have two stories about getting out of tickets one my aunt was headed to another aunt's house with a bag of prunes because she was constipated after having a baby and she was speeding and so she ripped open the bag of prunes and acted like she was about to poop her pants so she got out of that and another time we didn't even realize we were speeding but my ex-husband and i were coming home from something and at the time i was going through chemo and i was bald and And the guy saw my head and was like, uh, you guys can go. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

00:09:35 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 3:

Yeah.

00:09:36 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 1:

Wow. That's, you know what, man, God love him for doing that. You know what I mean? That you didn't need a ticket on top of everything. Uh, love you, Kirst. What's happening, Kristen? Hi. How are you? Lydia got a ticket, even though she cried to the cops.

00:09:53 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. So I had got pulled over for speeding. When I showed the cop my ID and everything,

00:10:00 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 4:

It was a Florida ID because I had recently just moved back to Michigan. And he said that he had lived in the same county that I did in Florida. So he let me get off.

00:10:11 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 2:

Oh, that's nice. I like that. Just out of the blue, he looks at it and says we're from the same place. That doesn't happen often unless you have like a whole glove box full of different counties. And then you're arrested for something else. Oh, you're from Florida, which part? Hold on. Shuffle. um this is pretty wild did you should we take this one right here can any guys call up like do we guys don't get out of one but it was a technicality that's called the reason that's called the dwg driving while guy uh what's happening danny yes hi i was on my way to a

00:10:47 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 4:

second date in royal oak to the detroit zoo and i got pulled over i was confused i'd never been to the area and he pulled me over he was super nice but when he handed me the ticket he said i hope it's worth it oh he knew i was going on the date because i explained to him like yeah i'm on my later date i'm gonna be late and he literally handed me the ticket and was like i hope it's

00:11:18 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 2:

worth it that's a dick move i would i would go to the i would go to court and i would tell the judge that i would say and by the way this is what he said to me because you think if you're a judge you look at that especially you're a female judge that seems pretty degrading to say it's your word

00:11:33 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 1:

against his though you better hope he got the little dash cam well that's the thing somebody

00:11:36 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 2:

said something about the body cam 586 says we should do a foia request to get lydia's dash cam or police body cam video. Could you imagine that? We could do that. Yes. Freedom of information. Let's do it. That would be awesome. Hey, Brandon, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning. What's up?

00:11:54 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Mojo, what's going on? Kevin, Megan, Shannon, Mike, everybody. How's it going?

00:11:59 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 1:

Good morning, Brandon.

00:12:00 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 2:

I love it, man. Thank you for remembering everybody. What's happening?

00:12:03 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 3:

Kevin, I got it. I'm a guy that got out of a speeding ticket. Stop. Really? What happened? 100%. so it was like 1 30 in the morning i got a phone call from this chick and she stayed like 10 minutes away from me and i had to get there in five bro i'm doing 75 in a 55 didn't even see the cop pull out behind me all i saw was the light and he comes up to the window i give him all my information he was like where are you going in such a hurry i was like i just got a phone call from a you know a female he was like okay i'll be right back ran all my information and while he was running my information he got a call for something more important than me speeding

00:12:48 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 2:

wow and he let you go he let me go no so he went back there to see if you were wanted by the law for anything and then realized there was something else more important or that you had a booty call

00:13:00 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 3:

which one did he like my booty he he liked the booty call yeah he liked the booty call He didn't want to admit it, but that's what he said.

00:13:07 - 00:13:13 | Speaker 2:

You got to love it, man. You know what? Even that officer likes a little booty call, too.

00:13:13 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 3:

I'm trying to tell you.

00:13:15 - 00:13:17 | Speaker 2:

I'm trying to get Megan to let me get a booty call.

00:13:17 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 3:

Oh, Megan. What's that credit score?

00:13:21 - 00:13:22 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, what's your credit score?

00:13:24 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 3:

It's a little low.

00:13:28 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 2:

Listen.

00:13:28 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 3:

I'm working on it.

00:13:30 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 2:

He's rebuilding.

00:13:31 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 1:

I just really love your honesty. That's right. I do.

00:13:33 - 00:13:38 | Speaker 2:

Brandon, I'll give you some booty, buddy, for that good call. Thank you, man. I appreciate it.

00:13:38 - 00:13:41 | Speaker 3:

We love you guys. I listen every morning.

00:13:41 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 2:

We love you, too.

00:13:42 - 00:13:42 | Speaker 3:

We love you, too.

00:13:43 - 00:13:47 | Speaker 2:

Take care, Brandon. I'm sorry. Did I cut him off? I think I might have. What's up, Rachel? Hi.

00:13:48 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 4:

Hi. How are you?

00:13:49 - 00:14:29 | Speaker 2:

Good. We were talking about Lydia crying to get out of a speeding ticket. And out of anybody here, if any of the other girls would have done it, I would have said, you know what? that is ridiculous that they didn't get out of a speeding ticket for doing it. Lydia, of all people, she's like a saint, an angel. You know what I think it was? I was realizing this. It's the Chaldean girl attitude. You gave a little Chaldean girl attitude because you were coming where were you coming from, Lydia? You were coming from a bar or something? Kona Grill. You were coming from Kona Grill, so you're all dressed probably like you always do. Lydia, have you ever noticed that Lydia, when she dresses on the weekends, I don't even recognize her. Oh, she's a whole different person.

00:14:29 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 1:

hair and makeup. I'm like, who did your hair? Who did your makeup? Oh, my aunt, my cousin. I wish I had your family.

00:14:35 - 00:14:45 | Speaker 2:

Rachel, you gotta see her. She dresses up on a Friday or Saturday night. And I honestly, I feel for her father. I'm worried for her

00:14:45 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 1:

being out there like that. It's like Fiona in Shrek. At night, she's turning into something. You're awesome.

00:14:55 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 2:

Our lovely Lydia. She's the angel of the show. But every now and then... A chick's got to shake some breezy ass, right?

00:15:02 - 00:15:04 | Speaker 7:

Yes, I'm shaking some breezy ass.

00:15:06 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 2:

We've all seen the headlines. Florida man wrestles alligator in a tuxedo. Or Florida man sues after finding toenails in his ice cream.

00:16:15 - 00:16:19 | Speaker 4:

It's easy to laugh at the meme, but have you ever wondered about the human behind the headline?

00:16:20 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 7:

Hey, I'm Frankie P.

00:16:21 - 00:16:26 | Speaker 4:

And I'm Amelia. On our podcast, Hidden Florida and Beyond, we're going beneath the surface of the sunshine state.

00:16:26 - 00:16:34 | Speaker 7:

From interviews with real people who make Florida weird. I'm pulling it up. And as I'm pulling it up, I see an arm. Stop it. Come down.

00:16:34 - 00:16:42 | Speaker 4:

To deep dives into the stories you didn't know you were looking for. Hey, give it up for Mark Wahlberg on the podcast today. It's more than just a meme. It's a lifestyle.

This time I talk to scientists, biopunks, curmudgeons, blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.

00:17:12 - 00:17:17 | Speaker 1:

I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know.
