mojo in the morning show uh producer lydia had a really rough day yesterday and we won't get into why her day was uh so rough um but uh it wasn't good and i honestly felt for her and i uh heard you this morning saying that the way that you tried to get over your roughness was uh by going out to eat which is my kind of girl by the way that you do that i like to eat alone really you actually go out by yourself so it wasn't even like going out with a

bunch of girlfriends it's become like a two to three day a week thing really where did you go eat yesterday i went to famous dave's and you guys i smash so hard wow i had a nice rack of ribs and

i was eating good i gotta be honest with you i never would think of going uh to eat alone at a place like a famous dave's like i would go to like a coney or to like a breakfast type of a restaurant but that's a perfect that's a perfect place to go to because you're messy anyway you

who wants to be messy in front of another person i ate steak alone a couple days ago too so really I'm eating good by myself. Going there and getting way too many ribs so people can't judge you on their cornbread rolls or muffins are amazing.

And then you tell the people that are waiting on you that you're expecting another person so they bring more out so it doesn't... Okay, so you went yesterday, you did this, but something happened to you there that kind of made you a little embarrassed.

Yeah, because an ex of mine walked in the door as I was eating this rib, gnawing it to its core my ex-boyfriend walked through the door with his girlfriend and their baby and it was the most awkward thing i've ever seen oh god and they just looked at me and i looked at them and i don't know if his girlfriend knows that we even dated because it was did you say hi to him no really oh no did you like make eye contact we did make eye contact so he knew he saw you you saw him yeah and we left off on like pretty bad terms so maybe he thought it wasn't best for us

type of conversation i would that would be the worst ever is to go to a be eating barbecue ribs and as you say smashing them and then seeing somebody that was once romantic with you as you're sitting there eating those ribs

Right, like probably a couple of years ago, he would have been licking that off my face. Oh, really? The rib sauce off my face, and now I'm licking it alone.

I don't know if I necessarily would want my significant other licking the barbecue sauce off my face. I wouldn't mind. That's my barbecue sauce. I still want that. And by the way, I can't imagine that the famous Dave's is really excited about that. You're an east sider, right? So you're, you're, you, uh, you, I was like when people say you reside or, or you, uh, you home on the east side of town, you stay, that's where I stay. So you stay on the east side of town and, uh, you're brave to go do restaurants on that side of town by yourself.

Why do you say that?

Cause I don't want to run into anybody I know. Like I want to run into neighbors. I don't want to run into exes in your case. Like, I don't want to have that happen to me.

Just because you're embarrassed to be by yourself?

Uh, yes. I don't want to eat by myself.

i don't know it is awkward at first i feel like once you do it more often it becomes more like comfortable but like it is the first time i ever did i felt like everybody here thinks i'm sad everybody's judging me like i'm fine i'm just busy and i have to go back to work

i want calls by the way i want you to call up and talk about the worst place that you bumped into your ex because that's a good one for this uh lydia call thing but i want to get back to the whole going and eating by yourself thing um 844 mojo live where's the most embarrassing place that you ran into your ex. Lydia's was at Famous Dave's Barbecue with a big old rack of ribs. When I go into a restaurant like a Famous Dave's and they'll say, yes, how many people, like the hostess will say that to you? And you'll be like, one. They go, huh? Like they kind of have that look on their face like, what? Like they can't believe that you're only going to have one. Where it's easier to go into those other restaurants that I was mentioning because they don't care, right? They think, okay, well, yeah, you're just a person that's eating in between work hours or something and that's what the rush

usually is because it's like lunchtime by the time we leave because i went right when we got off work

so are there a lot of people that are eating there by themselves i would say like it's more

so like co-workers just filling booths up oh yeah trying to snag a nice little lunch special

i don't know it's it's uh wow somebody just text in and this is actually a great place i don't know oh it was deshawn that said said deshawn said lydia you should try bad brad's barbecue have Have you ever tried Bad Brads? I've never had that place. Oh, it's good.

Where is it?

The one I go to is in Auburn Hills. The one that I stay at is in Auburn Hills, and that's usually the one that I will go to, kind of not that far from DTE or now Pine Knob back again. So that's a good place. What's up, Lisa?

I ran into my ex at my husband's office.

Oh, geez.

What does your husband do? My husband owns an equipment rental business. Okay. And we were eating lunch together and just sitting there chatting. And my ex walked in, about choked on my Caesar salad. And he had his son with him. And my husband evidently does business with him, had no clue. And so they started doing business. His son climbs up on the stool next to me. Hi, lady. And I was like, oh, shoot. Hey, kiddo.

did he did he say anything like to your husband like hey we used to date or anything like that

um not when i was there but i'm sure that conversation has probably been had oh wow

that's crazy uh erin what's going on hi hey i just wanted to say lydia a meal by yourself

is a great way to have a mental health boost, and you should be proud that you ate it all by yourself. That's great.

That is very, very nice. Don't share with anybody. Aaron, but would you go eat a mental health meal by yourself at a barbecue place? Would you do that?

Yes. It's all the medicine ones.

by the way with your meal like what did you choose oh i had a caesar salad and i had baked

beans oh god i love baked beans by the way she'll be by herself in a second i don't know what's

stronger could you eat by yourself at a barbecue place i don't eat barbecue really i would go to a bar and eat by myself how do you not like barbecue i didn't say i didn't like it i don't

yeah i don't eat meat oh well no you can have barbecue salmon or barbecue fish or something like that i mean that's not what we're talking about it's not as far as ashley what's going on come on i put barbecue sauce and everything i eat it like it's ranch dressing what's going on

i'm just kidding what's up no i'm saying for lydia she is like i've been doing the same thing just going on my own trying to find my own restaurant you know just by myself like just shopping around and you know what i'm just gonna go here tonight just by myself. No wife's nine, no mom's time. Just leave me alone, man. I'm just going to be me in a booth by myself. And then taking it all in and then you're just window shopping everybody else that are like, oh, that's good. About an hour ago with the kids. I'm like Lydia.

You know what would be fun is to stand up in a restaurant if you're by yourself and go, who's here by themselves? We're all jumping in the big booth in the corner. Sam, we were talking about running into your ex in an embarrassing place. Where did you run into your ex?

now and one of our clinicals was at a prison um and so i knew he got arrested and everything i just didn't know what prison he was at and i ended up seeing him at my clinical in the prison

Honestly, I would have a hard time going to Famous Dave's because there's eight other thousand restaurants there. I wouldn't know what to choose.

I hope they squeeze in one on Hall Road, because I would be there every day. That's the one restaurant we don't have.

Going to, well, and here's the interesting thing. Going to the east side of town, and for those in Grand Rapids and Toledo, you don't know this, there's this huge road there called Hall Road, and it's got every franchised place around.

You could never think of.

It's like going to the ultimate food court in a mall.

And I never knew which one to go to.
