Listener alert, listener alert. Don't fall for a ticket scam, a Taylor Swift ticket scam that actually one of the members of the Mojo in the Morning show almost fell for. Is that right?

This is Lydia, by the way. Let me introduce you because I'm going to say your name and there are people here that probably don't know who you are. Actually, are there people in the building that might not know who you are?

I would hope not considering I did a lot of marketing stuff here for quite some time. That's true.

Well, there could be. Listen, I was one of those people, Lydia, no offense, that worked with people for plenty of time and I had no idea what their names were.

You say that in past tense.

I knew you're... I didn't remember your name?

I don't remember that.

Actually, it means he likes you if he asks you. Because he usually just says, hey, buddy, how you doing?

Lydia. So Lydia is the director of our show. She also does all of our community service events, breaking in her Christmas wish, everything like that. And what happened? So you were looking to buy some Taylor Swift tickets or what?

Yeah, so actually Shannon had mentioned to me how she's been wanting to get some tickets to take Lucy to the show. So I've been keeping an eye out and some of you may know that I'm in a lot of Facebook groups.

This is why I asked you specifically.

So I've been looking through all these groups to see if anyone's selling Taylor Swift tickets. Well, luckily I came across a guy yesterday who posted that he was selling four. So I was like, why not? I'll message him just to see what his price is. So I messaged him yesterday And I asked him I was like what's your price Like where are the tickets And he sends me a screenshot And I was so happy Because the price was a pretty decent price It was a very decent price

And the seats were like pretty decent as well

What kind of money was he offering for the tickets

He asked for I think it was $300 Yeah

Which for Taylor Swift is

Per ticket And I need two tickets was red flag number one but okay and i need two tickets yeah um when i sent shannon the screenshot

i immediately saw and it said it said you're got the tickets it didn't say you've got the ticket so he messed up by photoshopping it and of course i called him out i was like uh these tickets aren't real and he replied to me and he was like what are you talking about and i was like this is fake and he blocked me

immediately i don't even know how you like saw that because when you sent it to me my first question was do you know this guy because there are so many scams and so i really only want to buy the tickets from somebody who's like a real a real person who you know but then when when she said oh wait it's photoshopped it took me forever to figure out how she knew that that you figured

it out off of the misspelling or how did you figure it out i figured it out by the misspelling

yeah because usually when ticket master emails you it says you've got the tickets like that's what the email says but his photoshop said you're got the tickets but it's y-o-u never noticed that

re yeah i would have just thought he that it was a dumb uh a dumb person like me that screwed up that but that's wild yeah i would never have noticed that if he's photoshopping why would he not be smart enough to photoshop the correct one to photoshop he even unsent the image so like

i would have never had a trace of it but i luckily i sent it to shannon so yeah i still have that

yeah i don't i would have gotten all the way to the point where he was like all right you have to pay in best buy gift cards okay fine right right i don't get this is the second time by

the way i've this has happened to me with taylor swift tickets yeah it's a big bait and switch

because it's so popular people are so frantic to make their fan their girlfriend or their kids happy with tickets that they're not real it's easy to scam people they're emotional about buying

them fast i don't get how people uh do like the cyber scamming type thing um like how they're able to like i got an idea i'm gonna do this thing like i'm gonna you know which is so easy

to scam people like and you realize my mom and especially older people my mom will call me like i need your help i'm trying to fix my paypal account and i said mom what do you have a paypal account she goes well i didn't think i did but i got an email saying it's not working so i'm trying to get it fixed i go mom if you don't have one well yeah that's what i thought but they sent me an email so yeah i'm like oh but did you see the new warning the ftc came out with yesterday the new scam they're warning people about we've all been talking about ai and all the deep fake technology and well now it's so easy for these scammers to take a little clip of your voice and change it what you're saying with ai so now they're calling loved ones like they'll scam you to get into your phone figure out who you call the most you might get a call from a loved one in a panic look you know really quick looking for begging for money and think oh my gosh my son's in trouble or whatever and it's a deep fake of your voice wow that is so scary the FTC said they're urging people be real careful if you're not sure or if it just seems like a weird situation hang up and call your loved one back because they're swindling parents and grandparents out of money that with a little recording of your voice they make a whole conversation saying I need money. I need you to send this to me quick. I'll explain later.

Can you also think that that is going to be used for by companies to say, you know how they need to get your verbal permission? Yeah, they'll use your voice to verbally get their permission for things. So there was a study that Gallup just did that I saw just a moment ago when I was going through some stories. And it said, what is the most significant critical threat, according to citizens? What is it that you believe the most critical threat? And it used to be that people thought of terrorism and war. Now it's cyberterrorism. That's the thing that people are the most fearful of right now. And they're fearful of somebody doing something to your – and that's why that whole TikTok thing is such a big deal right now.

It's so easy for them to get so much information because we let them access our devices and our lives so easily. I mean, even the ones we give permission to track our every move, every app we we have an account on, we've given them permission to listen to our conversations, look at our photo albums, track our locations. So it makes it so easy for them to also hack in and get that information without our permission.

I have to tell you that there are times where I go through the iHeart email and I don't get to the message that's sent by our cyber group until I go through all the rest of them.

Our company tests us every week or two. They'll send us a fake one to see if we fall for the hacking.

And I'll see the things and I go, these guys will never get me because I never answer anybody's emails.

I check that account maybe once a week.

Yeah.

They sent one. They said 30% of people fell for it after the beginning of the year. They said something about our W-2 forms for taxes and stuff. And they said, we had an issue with a lot of people not clicking through. And everybody clicked it. And it wasn't even from our own email address. It was like spelled wrong, our company name.

My favorite is when now they're doing the text messages to you. And so if you'll get a text message. I just got one of those. And it's so obvious that it's not real.

yeah it's really weird and the craziest is it used to be they'll call you up and they'll keep you on the phone now it's they'll send you these text messages and i have friends of mine that will go yeah i i sent this text back because this you know my company wants to know you know why i haven't turned in whatever it was i think it was like one of them was during the health time when people were doing their health insurance and they they're like yeah i don't understand it why do they keep doing it in there i'm thinking first off you don't even answer my text messages when

i send them to you why are you answering that most of those text ones they are in like a slanted font they're in a totally different font and if you look it comes from like a rando website with a bunch of number like they're gonna get better they're gonna get smarter about it yeah i asked

somebody in the cell phone industry why don't these carriers these big companies fight this because they obviously can stop it they see where these are coming from and they said it they told me it was kind of like you know how like banks won't want to publicize that a bank was robbed because then people feel like their money's not safe yeah these cell phone carriers they think it might be inside jobs that there's somebody that works they're hacking and using getting all our data so they don't want to publicize that this is happening on their platform because then you start to wonder is Verizon or AT&T or Sprint or whoever it is, all of them have the same scammers on their platforms.

I heard that you should delete it. So don't just leave it in your phone. Yeah. Delete the message and report it as spam because if you don't do that, there's some kind of

a working number and they'll keep hitting you. Yeah.

There's some kind of way that they can figure all that out. I just found two pair of Taylor Swift tickets for $295. And the guy's email address is mojo at.

I'm also just shocked that I'm thinking in my head that $300 per ticket is cheap. Like, what has happened? This is just asinine to me. I'm telling you. Megan did some research for me, and you said, Megan, what's the cheapest ticket for Detroit? Resale ticket.

One ticket, the cheapest you can buy, is $643. The most expensive for one ticket is $6,187. You are nuts if you are paying that for a ticket.

Now, if you wait until the show gets closer, they're going to go down. Everybody's just baiting and hoping that somebody will be desperate enough to spend it. But then if it gets closer and closer and there's still thousands of tickets in the resale market, they start to go down.

The thing that blew my mind is I do follow, I mean, it pops up on my TikTok all the time, and, like, I feel bad for the people who spent that much money on floor tickets, and depending on where your floor seats are, you can't see the majority of the concert, and you spent the most amount of money. Like, that, to me, would break my heart. I saw girls that were selling their floor tickets and then buying, like, the race seating tickets just so they could see her. Yeah.

I heard that the behind-the-stage tickets are also being sold, too.

Did you see the view?

Yeah.

It's insane. And the price that they're going for? I mean, good for her, but that's crazy. But you can still hear her. You're in the room. Yeah, but I don't know if you pay $800 to watch somebody on screen and hear them.

I want to breathe her air, right?

Well, I don't understand. She should have when this blew out of control. And don't get me wrong. I love a good high production value. She is putting on a show. I get it. But I feel like with these added shows that she did in every city, change it so it's a small stage on the floor like Harry Styles did and sell every seat in the venue. Do one night full production and then one night as many people as I can get in here as possible.

Yeah. Break the fire code. Get them all in there.
