So Lydia is the person who screens the calls here on the show. You'll get a chance to meet her at the Daddy-Daughter Dance on Friday if you already haven't. I know many of you already talked to her. She spent Father's Day with her dad and her brother and had such a great time with her dad that she decided that she was going to take this one step further with her brother and what were

00:02:27 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 4:

you guys planning on doing well we're planning on taking my dad on a trip for the next year but i wanted to start planning now because we realized we had such a good time together because my dad and i and my brother we don't get to spend a lot of time together my brother lives about two hours from us so we had a really good father's day together and i brought up that we should all take a trip and all i meant me my brother and my dad but my mom didn't get that memo and she was offering to come with us and she was like yeah we can do this and go here and i had to stop

00:03:02 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 6:

mid-convo and i was like you're not coming with us by the way lydia's mom is quite possibly one of my favorite people ever she reached out and wished me a happy father's day before the weekend Like, she's one of the genuine, most kindest human beings in the entire world. Not to Lydia.

00:03:22 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 4:

She's nice, but she's not coming. It's just a siblings and a dad kind of thing, you know? You just want to spend one-on-one time with that parent. And my mom and I spend so much time together.

00:03:34 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:03:34 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 4:

Like, we've talked about on the More Mojo podcast how we have that one person that we call after the show. She's my one person, and then when I get home, she's talking my ear off, and then we do other things together. I get it.

00:03:46 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 7:

Have you ever had that happen to you where people were planning on getting together or planning on doing something, but they're planning on it right in front of you, and you're the odd person out? You're just assuming that you're going to be part of it because here you are planning it. Your mom was right there when you were doing it. Did your mom go out with you and your brother and your dad?

00:04:06 - 00:04:06 | Speaker 4:

She did.

00:04:07 - 00:04:11 | Speaker 7:

She was invited to that. So if she's there, then she's the all, right? We're all planning on a trip together.

00:04:11 - 00:04:13 | Speaker 4:

No, her and my sister-in-law can stay home. It's okay.

00:04:13 - 00:04:17 | Speaker 7:

Where are you thinking about taking dad?

00:04:17 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 4:

I wanted to take him to Mexico Oh wow, that's a nice trip Yeah, we wanted to do something, you know, a little bit different than we usually do

00:04:24 - 00:04:26 | Speaker 7:

Just the three of you guys then, huh?

00:04:26 - 00:04:27 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think that would be fun

00:04:27 - 00:04:41 | Speaker 7:

Yeah, because it can't be that you're all of a sudden not inviting mom And then all of a sudden inviting gas station guy and your sister-in-law And, you know, it can't be that mom's the only one out She is, by the way, the nicest person in the world

00:04:41 - 00:04:46 | Speaker 4:

But she also is the only one out It's everybody but mom Oh no my sister-in-law is not invited either

00:04:46 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

Yeah that's in law though I kind of get that though

00:04:49 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 7:

This may be a dumb question but are the vibes different with dad than mom And you want those vibes to be you know what's happening

00:04:56 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

They both get pretty good vibes Just sometimes the mixture of the vibes

00:05:00 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 1:

vibes are too high for me when we're all together. I think that's nice. As a dad, I would love to be able to spend time, you know, with, and we, and I do, and Chelsea and I are very good about, we take our kids separately on things and go do things together. Like, uh, I spent so much time with Luke that I got to, you know, do this, uh, where I try to equal out the time with the other two boys. You know what I had happen to me on father's day? I was home by myself with Luke. Chelsea went on a girls trip Father's Day weekend she left on Father's Day weekend and she and her best friend Leah left so I got contacted by Leah's husband Dennis who also was left by himself and he lives in Los Angeles and he was home with his sons by himself I was home with my son by himself and so Dennis and I both said that next Mother's Day we are going on a guys trip together Yeah. Because what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Whatever that's saying. What a baby's baby. Right. They went down. They went to Florida as girls together. And I thought to myself, I'm like, wait a second. It's Father's Day weekend. And then I got the whole thing from Chelsea where she said, she called me Father's Day morning. So she was one of my first phone calls, wished me a happy Father's Day, and then said, your card is in my top drawer of my. And did that. And then I go and I open up the card and she got me. And it was actually kind of cute. I actually thought it was good.

00:06:34 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 2:

She's the best gift giver.

00:06:35 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 1:

Well, you know what I got for my gift?

00:06:36 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

What?

00:06:37 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 1:

A homemade card. What she wants. So she made up. She made that? She made me up. Well, I put the heart on there because I thought it was cute. No, I know. Can I tell you? Yes.

00:06:46 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 2:

I just know that if she was listening right now and you called her, she would go, I don't care.

00:06:51 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 1:

I know. I know I want to make it sound like I'm really even more lonely. You're right. She would be like, good, bye. Do you know enough about the girls' trip that it couldn't have been any other weekend? It didn't have to be this weekend? Well, I talked about how they went down to Florida to go see that comedian, the man-hater comedian, the housewife-hater or whatever the heck. I don't know what it is. The one that doesn't like the – or I don't know. Chelsea walks around with a hat on that I go, that is horrible. It's horribly offensive, but I wish I would have thought of it myself. um it's something that she sells i guess on her website it's the c word that not you're not supposed to use only women can use the c word you know what i'm talking about i didn't know that yes you're not allowed to use the c word unless you are a woman with the c hello chelis i was just having a discussion with these guys about how you left me on this horrible time on father's day

00:07:54 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 2:

Horrible time.

00:07:56 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was Father's Day and you left me for a girl's trip.

00:07:59 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 2:

You're not my dad. Ah!

00:08:01 - 00:08:02 | Speaker 1:

Uh-huh.

00:08:03 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 2:

You're not my dad. And I've done my job making sure you had 28 Father's Day, 28 years of Father's Days. And don't make me talk about ones you've ruined for me.

00:08:16 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 1:

Oh, no. No, no. Come on. All right. We'll talk to you later.

00:08:22 - 00:08:23 | Unknown:

Exactly.

00:08:23 - 00:08:31 | Speaker 1:

By the way, I just want you to know this That next Mother's Day I'm doing a guy's trip with Dennis As a payment back to you and Lita for this

00:08:31 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 2:

And I say go

00:08:35 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 1:

See that? Megan was right Megan was right on that Starting now Megan predicted That you would have no problem with this That it wouldn't even bother you if I said that

00:08:48 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 2:

No problem No problem at all Which means I was

00:08:55 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 1:

She's right a second time

00:08:57 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 2:

She's been right all morning

00:08:59 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 1:

Chelsea, Megan has never been so right This is horrible

00:09:06 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 2:

I can't hear Megan

00:09:07 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 1:

Yes, good That's by the way How do I get to the point where I can't hear Megan either

00:09:11 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 2:

Jerk

00:09:17 - 00:09:19 | Speaker 1:

I'm going to go on this trip with Chelsea

00:09:19 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 2:

When not you

00:09:20 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, by the way By the way, this is the thing though If a guy were to go plan a guy's trip On Mother's Day weekend No way It would never pass There's no way I would never hear the end of it

00:09:34 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 2:

You better tread lightly, sir Tread lightly

00:09:37 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

Wait, what did I do? Uh-oh

00:09:39 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 2:

Do you want to talk about the Mother's Day That you never even acknowledged When it was Mother's Day?

00:09:44 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 1:

Oh, no Go ahead Let's get into this

00:09:46 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 2:

When we had a two-year-old and a four-year-old What did I do? Wait, wait, wait I'm trying to get your back.

00:09:51 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 1:

I'm trying to tell me this part. Go ahead.

00:09:55 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 2:

Okay. It was the first year that we moved to Michigan.

00:10:00 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 4:

I was away from my family, and we, it was, they, okay, there was a breast cancer walk in Chicago, so you wanted to go to Chicago to see your family, and we were going to do this walk in honor of your mother.

00:10:14 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 2:

Race for the Cure Chicago, yes.

00:10:16 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 4:

Yep, I made t-shirts for everyone in the family with your mom's picture on it, and then we do the walk, we're driving home, it's about four or five o'clock at night on Mother's day and i call my mom and i said mom i just want to wish you happy mother's day and you looked at me and your face went totally white because you realized not one time did you say to me happy mother's day so guess what sir pay back oh come on

00:10:44 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 2:

but i'm not your mom so it's okay

00:10:51 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 4:

Wait a second

00:10:53 - 00:11:13 | Speaker 2:

I like how you said this I'm not your mom But it's okay But you just told the whole story So it wasn't okay It was not good You gotta make it up too That was not good I've made Well I You can never You can never No you can never make up something like that You can never make up You know that But I think I've done pretty good since then Haven't I?

00:11:15 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

I mean Yeah Okay Adequate

00:11:20 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 2:

I just want you to know that in a year from now, Chelsea, I'm going away.

00:11:26 - 00:11:28 | Speaker 4:

Please go away. By all means. No, no, no.

00:11:28 - 00:11:50 | Speaker 2:

That is not a threat to me. In a year from now, I'm going away with Lydia's dad, Lydia and her brother. I'll go. All right. By the way, this is how it goes sometimes, where I really don't care about it that much, but obviously you still care about it because you just brought it up, right?

00:11:50 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 4:

because you're making me look like an ass on the air and so i just want to let everyone know no i'm not making the only ass in the house

00:11:58 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 2:

you got a much better ass than i do all right well listen i i don't don't care that you were gone it was just you know oh what was that did you that was that it was the up in the chair moving the chair on the tile oh okay all right i i uh i don't care that you're gone i just care That you come back

00:12:21 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 4:

Are you coming back I'm gone but you keep on bringing it up

00:12:24 - 00:12:30 | Speaker 2:

By the way did you know that while you're gone Our son had a little shindig At the house

00:12:30 - 00:12:33 | Speaker 4:

I did know I've been talking to him about it

00:12:33 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 2:

Okay alright See that I was a responsible dad I stayed up all night with those guys Making sure that everybody was okay You know why I stayed up don't you

00:12:45 - 00:12:46 | Speaker 4:

Why

00:12:46 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 2:

Because I know No, I couldn't fall asleep You had one kid in the basement I think Luke said it was Joe or Paul Or something like that that kept screaming It was like out of the blue Paul It was Paul, he told me I can't get what he was screaming at All of a sudden, out of the blue, it would just be like Random

00:13:07 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 4:

Were they playing video games or something?

00:13:10 - 00:13:14 | Speaker 2:

I think they gamble now Do you think that he's gambling now? Or what do you think is going on?

00:13:14 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 4:

I think they were playing poker But yeah I think they're playing poker That's what they're doing

00:13:19 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 2:

Alright well listen I love you I will talk to you later

00:13:23 - 00:13:24 | Speaker 4:

Okay I'll talk to you later

00:13:24 - 00:13:33 | Speaker 1:

Never in my entire life Have I witnessed something backfire So hard If I knew that it was going to be like that

00:13:33 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 2:

I never would have called her What's up Jillian hi

00:13:37 - 00:13:44 | Speaker 3:

Hi I was just about to say the same thing Oh boy did that backfire on you Yeah

00:13:44 - 00:13:58 | Speaker 2:

You know, usually I'm really smart about the direction I take some things in the show. That might have been the one time in my entire life that I realized that the direction didn't go well. But you know who took it that direction? Who took it that direction, Jillian?

00:13:59 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. I still think you did.

00:14:01 - 00:14:03 | Speaker 2:

Megan took it that direction.

00:14:04 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 3:

I just brought up that she would have said, fine, go. I didn't say you should call her and rehash bad memories. You did that on your own.

00:14:13 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 2:

She threw me right under that bus there. What's up?

00:14:15 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 3:

I'm going to throw you under any bus. How dare you?

00:14:18 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 2:

Diana, what's up? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:14:20 - 00:14:44 | Speaker 3:

Hey. Well, my husband used to go on a Mother's Day fishing trip. Without me, I would have two small boys, and I'd be at home with these boys. And it was a customer, but the customer invited him to go to Canada on this Mother's Day fishing trip, and he would go. And here I would be with these boys home alone. And it seemed weird back in those days when you had small kids that you didn't have.

00:14:44 - 00:14:52 | Speaker 2:

Do you think we can call my wife back and you could tell her that? I'd like to compare your idiot husband to me. Is that possible?

00:14:53 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 3:

Well, I did get a car out of it. Oh, really? I did eventually. One time, so he comes home.

00:15:00 - 00:15:12 | Speaker 2:

and he tells me, well, this guy's got a car and it was this, like, it was a used car, but the guy was in business where he could get a new car every year. And it was a pretty nice car, so.

00:15:13 - 00:15:27 | Speaker 5:

Wow. Well, listen, I'm going to let you go before I get into worse trouble here. I appreciate you so much. Thank you so much for calling in and making me feel even worse. All right. All right. Take care.

00:15:27 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 4:
