Mojo in the morning. The next topic is perfect after what we just talked about. Megan was almost killed over the weekend.

00:01:49 - 00:02:02 | Speaker 2:

Yep. In a car. In a car. I'm so mad right now. I'm so mad. This is the second time in a week a man has gotten on the phone with me and just talked over me. I'm so annoyed.

00:02:02 - 00:02:10 | Speaker 5:

Wait a second. We were just talking a moment ago about you cutting off somebody in traffic. But I literally, okay. And you were almost killed.

00:02:11 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 2:

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. So I grew up in an area that has tons of railroad tracks. I'm not sure if this is a common thing in Michigan, but in Toledo we have 8 million and a half railroad tracks. here and i grew up in an area that had a bunch of um arms that came down for their train tracks right because they're flashing lights in their arms well my brother and i learned over the weekend that not every train tracks has arms and i think that we have just been conditioned in the area that we grew up in that that's like they all have arms they all have arms i've never been as i can remember to a train track that didn't have arms that came down those like what the red and white caution arms yeah so um we were driving uh in a different area than we grew up in and we were going over train tracks and i i looked up and i just like grabbed my car and i screamed because my brother was going across the train tracks and we almost got hit by a train because it didn't have arms. And like, absolutely, we were in the wrong, but I think we've just been conditioned to one specific area because I Googled it afterwards and apparently the majority of railroad crossings don't have arms and that's just not something that we ever paid attention to. It was the scariest moment of my life. I saw the train coming, and I was like, oh, my God. Usually the ones that don't. We are going to die.

00:03:51 - 00:04:10 | Speaker 5:

It's usually more rural areas where you'll see that where the train, you know, maybe doesn't come as often. Right. But that is, isn't it weird that they don't have arms on every single one of these train tracks? Because of, I mean, I guess we're supposed to look for the blinking light, right, on the side of the thing.

00:04:10 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 2:

And there's a bell, right? No, ours didn't have a bell. it was just lights and like i'm gonna be really honest should we have noticed it obviously yes but i think when you just grow up in an area that that's not the case like i was not looking out for

00:04:25 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 5:

it at all yeah yeah i wonder if any listeners have ever been you know almost hit you ever see those uh news stories are out there where all of a sudden you'll hear the story about a train that hits a car and the problem is that what happens even if they do have arms the people that are stuck in traffic and will continue to go and they'll like go yeah i want to move up i'm going to inch all the way up and they don't want to put a space in between them to you know stop at that line that white line that's there yeah and they'll can they'll stop right on the middle of a railroad track only to get hit by a train and you hear the stories all the time because those trains can't stop it's like semi-trucks yeah pulling in front of a semi-truck but bigger you know and trying to get in front so you're saying that you were in an automobile and almost got yourself into a situation where you could have i'm just kidding i don't know why i don't know why by the way oh hey there's the train oh wait a second the The train's got a beat behind it. The train's got a little beat behind it.

00:05:34 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

Look how happy you are that you said this.

00:05:37 - 00:05:56 | Speaker 5:

Come on, ride Megan's train. By the way, our boss Colleen all weekend has been sending me text messages making fun of the fact that I led a conga line on Friday at the daddy-daughter dance. Did you see the guy that was in the front of the train?

00:05:56 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 4:

KP had a great impression of him, though.

00:05:59 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 5:

Okay, wait, wait. She does the impression of me?

00:06:02 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 4:

You gotta see it. No, the guy down on the cargo train.

00:06:04 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 5:

Oh, are you talking about the... That guy, by the way, looked like he should have been from an Adam Sandler movie. It was the greatest, wasn't it? He was... You know what the weirdest is? Yeah. I don't know how old he was, but I think he was like in his late 80s or something like that. Like mid to late 80s.

00:06:18 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 4:

That guy was great.

00:06:19 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 5:

Wasn't he?

00:06:19 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 4:

Do your impression of the guy leading the cargo line.

00:06:25 - 00:06:26 | Speaker 3:

He was having the best night.

00:06:29 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 5:

what's up erica it's mojo in the morning hi hello how you doing megan almost got killed by a train

00:06:40 - 00:07:15 | Speaker 2:

this weekend so um i actually was on the train coming home uh from work uh on sunday and our train was delayed an hour and a half i've never taken the train anywhere and i had to do it for work and um so we had to stop weren't sure why come to find out uh another train further down the track should actually hit someone and the best part was the attendant was showing us that um so had she died it would have been a three four hour wait but because she only got hit and

00:07:15 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 5:

actually lived it was only about an hour and a half oh my god so wait where was this what

00:07:21 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 2:

town were you in uh i'm in uh in canada in toronto so you're oh you're in canada okay

00:07:27 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 5:

because i was gonna say you're taking trains for going to work and stuff i thought maybe it was like the amtrak that goes through our area taking you between the big cities so that's wild so if the person dies they have to shut down like they do the highways here in michigan they shut down the highways for a while to do an investigation and there goes the trains for a while what's up

00:07:45 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 1:

sarah how you doing good how are you guys good what's going on um uh the same thing that happened to me i was driving down um i'm in sylvania megan and i was driving down uh sylvania and i also i was went right over the train track and all of a sudden i looked to my right and i was like oh my god the train's right there and luckily they go slow but still i it scared the crap out of me because my son was in the back seat and I noticed there was no no polls or anything and then I started taking note at every railroad crossing in the area there's no polls except for a few and I looked it up online you can actually go to a website um and it said a high website you can request polls I guess it's like enough people oh like petition I feel like that should just be

00:08:34 - 00:08:54 | Speaker 3:

standard though for safety and the crazy part is like in Slovenia they go slow because they have some sort of ordinance for noise or whatever, so they, like, legitimately have to go slow. I was out in, like, the Springfield, Toledo area. That train was flying. It was terrifying to be, like, we were seconds away from being smashed to pieces.

00:08:55 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 1:

Oh, they go fast out there. Yeah, that's scary out there. I can't believe they don't have poles out there. I know.

00:09:03 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 5:

We need to get everybody on the pole. What's going on, Tyler?

00:09:07 - 00:09:13 | Speaker 4:

so i actually live up in michigan and railroad crossings that actually don't even have lights

00:09:13 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 5:

they just have yield time oh my gosh so what part of michigan is like northern michigan or the up uh i'm actually up in saginaw oh that well that's not that's not very rural

00:09:24 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 4:

most most country areas have uh uh yield time that's amazing you know what uh to me is always

00:09:33 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

amazing too that in four-way stops it's it you know that always kind of gets me well you never know who's at the stop sign first you know and you can't figure out who's supposed to go next so i guess it's probably good yeah you just roll right through it um brett was uh actually like you megan almost hit by a train you where was this at brett you're talking to me

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 4:

What is your name?

00:10:04 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 2:

Brent. Brent.

00:10:05 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 4:

I apologize, Brent.

00:10:08 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, I said many years ago, I live in Ohio, just south of Bowling Green, Ohio, and they didn't have the railroad flashers. They just had the railroad crossing X's, and it was dark, and I was driving 55 miles per hour, and I kept seeing a flickered light, and I thought, what is that? Well, I ended up being a headlight car waiting on the train on the other side. And if it wasn't for that, it was dark out, I would have ran right into the train. Wow. Because they didn't have the flashers back then.

00:10:41 - 00:10:45 | Speaker 4:

Hey, Megan, you never told me that people in Ohio have accents.

00:10:45 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 2:

What? Go to Ohio.

00:10:47 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 4:

Where did that come from, Brent? Are you originally from? Come on. I'm from Ohio. Holy cow. Where are you from?

00:10:54 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

Portsmouth?

00:10:55 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 4:

Ohio, Louisiana. Perrysburg.

00:10:58 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 2:

00:11:01 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 4:
