Moto Casino. America's social casino. It's Mojo in the morning, and we got the gang all doing their thing, and we have two people from the show that are doing something today that I think is very heartwarming, and I think that it's commendable, but there's one person that had a negative on it, and I want to bring it up right now. Shannon is leaving at what time?

00:02:31 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 3:

Like just before the 830-dirty. Okay. Between 8 and 830. Good for you.

00:02:35 - 00:02:47 | Speaker 6:

Shannon is leaving at 830 because Smith has got his preschool graduation going on today. And so her youngest is graduating from preschool and she wants to be there like the other moms and dads are going to be there.

00:02:48 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 5:

She's a little camping gown.

00:02:48 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 6:

You know, and for those that don't understand, this is, you know, we do this whole thing right now. It's hard for us sometimes to just sit there and go, oh, I'm going to sneak out real quick Because you sneak out. You notice when we sneak out. You don't notice necessarily if somebody else sneaks out from their office. Well, Mike is also doing something today that's cool. Mike at, what, 9.30, Mike?

00:03:07 - 00:03:17 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, 9.30, I'm going to Cecily's field trip at the John Ball Zoo, which I've never done before. The background check passed. I didn't get to be in the Japanese.

00:03:17 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 2:

Oh, good, good. You got it past that.

00:03:18 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 5:

How cool is that?

00:03:19 - 00:03:21 | Speaker 6:

So dad's going to go to the field trip, which is awesome.

00:03:21 - 00:03:22 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, I'm very excited.

00:03:22 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 6:

Well, can you guess who the one person is that does not have children and feels like people with children get special treatment?

00:03:34 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 3:

I don't feel like. It's proven. Also, I want to say before we jump into this, family moments happen once in a lifetime. You got to go have them. Whatever. I hate it. Good for you. You have a happy family and children that love you. Unconditional love. What I... what i hear is special treatment and favorability in the workplace and i don't like it okay so what your kids will have these fond memories for the rest of their life and it would be very mentally damaging if you were just absent i don't care about your children i've never cared about your children i hope they all have terrible graduation services and field trips today just kidding by

00:04:15 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 6:

Anyway, no, but this is actually a good topic to bring up here right now. It's unfair. Because just like smokers who got the chance to go out and have smoke breaks all the time back in the day, I don't know if they still do. They still go outside and smoke every 15 minutes. Just like smokers.

00:04:31 - 00:04:52 | Speaker 3:

How come y'all get to leave and get special treatment and force us non-children bearers to cover up for you guys and pick up all of the responsibilities that you willy-nilly leave behind for your own self-interest. And I'm called selfish. Y'all parents are selfish. First off, get a mic.

00:04:52 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

I will have to come back to work, okay? It's not like I'm just done for the day. I'm coming back, and we'll be here all day.

00:05:00 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 3:

day because I'm going to the zoo. Now, you have your own personal time. If you want to take personal time and go have a field trip with Coraline, you go.

00:05:09 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 6:

Are you guys using personal time? Are you guys using personal time today? Because I

00:05:13 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 3:

don't think you are. Well, look, the biggest thing you said was responsibility. And as a parent, you have a whole responsibility. Without kids,

00:05:22 - 00:05:26 | Speaker 4:

your whole life is free time. By the way, for those who don't know,

00:05:26 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 2:

Cav has a son, too. your whole life is free time

00:05:30 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 6:

so your responsibility is just throwing extra work on me because you have other things to do like I don't have other things to do pot meat kettle guys who has to do a whole bunch

00:05:43 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 5:

of extra work today because Shannon specifically is leaving you know I did all the work for you already

00:05:48 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 4:

all the work for you bitch

00:05:50 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 6:

I was just cursed I woke up at 2.30 this morning I already told you I was going to write it up for you. You did not. Don't leave it. You did it.

00:06:01 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 3:

You liar. You did it. You didn't say it. I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess. It's funny because I can see them yelling, but I can't hear them. It's the greatest. I'm right in the middle.

00:06:19 - 00:06:19 | Speaker 5:

Look.

00:06:19 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 2:

All right, all right, all right. Kids, kids, kids, kids.

00:06:22 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 5:

Step away from the show for whatever you want. Kids. KP took a date for her. hair and she had to use a vacation day. Wait a second, I forgot about that. Do not get me involved in this.

00:06:31 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 2:

I don't have kids.

00:06:32 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 6:

I got disposable money. She had to use a vacation day.

00:06:36 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 2:

Listen, I have to pull this together because listeners don't want to listen to the view on the radio with screaming and talking over each other, all right? Yeah, we do. All right. No, but I have to bring this all together because I will say this, as a guy who has kids, I regret that I didn't do a lot of this with my two younger kids. Now, I did do it with Luke, and I learned a lesson. And actually, to be perfectly honest with you, I was exactly where Megan's spot was, where I was like, you're going where? You're doing what? When people that were on the show had, you know, said, hey, they wanted to leave to go to their kids' things. Because I looked at it like, you know what? I'm sorry. We can't go to Dads with Donuts Day. You know what I mean? Like, I never got to go to a Dads with Donuts Day or Donuts with Dads Day or whatever the hell it was. But I also will say this to you That my kids now are in high amounts of therapy And taking lots of medication because of it

00:07:30 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 3:

What is the lesson you think you learned

00:07:33 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 2:

After doing it with Luke But then not doing it with your kids That I screwed Joe and Jacob over By not doing it Can I tell you something? I didn't screw them over I screwed me over I screwed me over for not experiencing this And honestly I put a lot of extra pressure on Chelsea to be single mom going to all this stuff. Now, we were very fortunate that Chelsea could be a stay-at-home mom. But I will say this, that as a dad, I didn't have those memories. And Luke just graduated from high school. And when he graduated from high school, they had picture montages and things of all the years that Luke had been going to school because he went to the same school that he went to high school with when he was in kindergarten. And there were some days where I'm looking at field days and things, and I was never there. and I'm looking at some of the guys that were there, some of the dads that were there, and I'm going, man, I really missed out. So here's the thing. I get it. But now I want the people to fight. Okay. Who has it better in the office? I want you to call us up right now. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I want you to call out. I want you to call us up right now if you're Team Megan or Team I Like My Kids.

00:08:44 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 6:

to be fair that is the best part of our job is that we do have the flexibility for this my dad wasn't there he was working a lot i get it i totally get it it's with that being said when it comes to responsibilities in the workplace i do think parents get a lot more leeway like most of the time when it comes to holidays and stuff people say well it's my kids at home and stuff like that and we are expected as non-kid people to kind of cover for parents a lot that could be

00:09:12 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 1:

fair hey marissa uh which team are you on here i'm team megan um i don't want to have kids ever that's just my personal choice and like more power to you if you want them but at my company um you get six months paid maternity leave if you have a child and i just like what if i want six months paid leave if i adopt a dog i think that i should be able to spend time with my new puppy

00:09:36 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 2:

but that's not allowed you know what though though that has actually been a conversation that's been brought up, though, for people.

00:09:41 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 5:

Guess how much we get paid maternity leave. Zero.

00:09:44 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 2:

Well, but that has been a conversation in some businesses where there are some businesses that are doing leave for animals and people that have pets. Yeah, yeah.

00:09:52 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 5:

Paternity leave.

00:09:53 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, Melissa, what's going on? Which team are you on here?

00:09:57 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

I'm on Team Megan, for sure, because...

00:10:00 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 8:

I was the person working 12 hours a day bartending and serving for moms that had to go. Now I'm that mom and they can do it for me. Right? I really... You're kind of team both.

00:10:13 - 00:10:39 | Speaker 5:

It's team payback. Now the payback is there unless you have a different boss that doesn't agree. I do think that times seem to be a little bit more different right now. I'm not going to be the whole I walked uphill. But there were – back when I was in my day, I couldn't – if I told my boss I was taking a day off because I had anxiety, my boss would look at me and go, go anxiety yourself on the unemployment line, you know?

00:10:39 - 00:10:59 | Speaker 8:

I get that. I'm both. And I got – because I didn't like that when I couldn't take a day off, you know, to be with – having anxiety, but someone could take a day off to go do, you know, a field trip with their kids. But now that I'm the adult, I'm like, hey, I did it for the parents. You should do it for the parents. Maybe they'll become a parent one day, and then they're going to realize what they missed out on.

00:11:00 - 00:11:02 | Speaker 5:

Sure. Yeah, thank you for the call. What's up, Alicia?

00:11:04 - 00:11:07 | Speaker 1:

Hey. Hi, everybody. How's everybody doing? We are good.

00:11:07 - 00:11:12 | Speaker 5:

We're just having a really healthy conversation right now. Glad this is out in the open.

00:11:13 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 1:

That's good. I wanted to make the point that if your workers are feeling supported in their personal life and there's a good work-life balance, they're going to be more dedicated to the job.

00:11:26 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 5:

you know i'm not doing that i'm kind no you know mike brought up a really good uh a point about work-life balance um because mike said that he's coming back to work and he's going to go do it and the you're he's doing you get the ability to be able to go do this because mike you're great at what you do right and you feel confident doing it but yeah you're not you're still coming back and doing work.

00:11:52 - 00:11:52 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:11:52 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 5:

You're still doing it. And Shannon does a lot of other stuff around here that people don't see.

00:11:57 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 6:

I'm not coming back, but I will still be working tonight. I mean, we all will.

00:12:01 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 5:

Megan, on the other hand, no, I'm just kidding.

00:12:04 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 6:

I don't do anything, yeah. No, no, no, for sure.

00:12:06 - 00:12:23 | Speaker 4:

No, no, no, you do a lot. No, but I did what Megan did when I didn't have kids. I covered for the people that had kids. Yes. And I understood, but there was also other opportunities that I got to do because I didn't have kids. There were other things, other perks that I got Because I didn't have kids So there's a best of both worlds

00:12:23 - 00:12:48 | Speaker 6:

I do think though that I'm being punished for other people's decisions Like these are decisions you're choosing to make And then I'm paying the consequences for them And I also think it's funny that all of you guys are taking this stance Because when we talk about smokers and their breaks Y'all unequivocally say That's not fair, that's not fair Those are choices that you're making And now that it doesn't apply to you But now we take 15 minute poops And even it out But now that it does apply to you, you take the other stance

00:12:48 - 00:12:54 | Speaker 5:

I would like to, since smokers get to take breaks to go smoke i would like to have it to eat a bag of potato chips i would like to

00:12:54 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 7:

what's up bug grace uh yeah i actually worked about 80 hours a week when i was pregnant with my daughter so that way i could have maternity leave and i got no special treatment whatsoever

00:13:07 - 00:13:18 | Speaker 5:

just because i had kids yeah well i mean talk about that that's you know that's one of those things the the maternity leave or non-maternity leave in many cases with businesses but i'll say

00:13:18 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 7:

I work my butt off with my kids and around my schedule. I mean, my work is not, you know, they show no special treatment.

00:13:28 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 5:

What do you think, Maria?

00:13:31 - 00:13:50 | Speaker 2:

I just wanted to bring up a point about, like, animals. Because at my old job, if my dog had a vet appointment or if there was an emergency with him, I had to take personal time off. And my coworkers who had kids If they had an appointment for their child Or an emergency Oh no

00:13:50 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 4:

Bummer I'm not going to say I'm glad that happened That's a crappy employer though right there

00:13:59 - 00:14:02 | Speaker 6:

No that is That's not acceptable

00:14:02 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 5:

Hold on a second Who's on the phone with us right now Misfit Steve Misfit Steve what's going on Wait Misfit Steve is our Misfit Steve huh we have we can't have two of them misfit steve works for us here right now do we have two misfit steves misfit steven then you know what we need to do everybody's name steve is we need because here's the problem we have we hired misfit steve to do some audio stuff for us and work for us after he was on doing a dating thing but you were misfit steven why don't we do this we have misfit steve be the guy that works here and you're misfit steve 2.0 oh i like that

00:14:43 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 3:

i'm 2.0 i'm team kids even though i like doing a lot of overtime but since my schedule changed because we had like but now i get to take my kids to school every day but before i didn't take my

00:15:00 - 00:15:13 | Speaker 2:

to school. But now that I get to do that, I get to see the enjoyment when they get sent off every morning. All the stuff that I get to enjoy when they're waking up and all that stuff. That's nice. See that?

00:15:15 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 3:

Before, just like some of these other callers, before you would look at this as this is kind of a pain, but now that you got the kids, you get to enjoy being with them, right?

00:15:25 - 00:15:36 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, get to being with them, spend time with them, doing the The field trips and stuff and all that. Yeah. Donuts with Dads, which I did a couple times.

00:15:36 - 00:15:39 | Speaker 3:

Did they ever have good donuts there? Because I never got a chance to go to Donuts with Dads.

00:15:40 - 00:15:44 | Speaker 2:

No. They were bad donuts. Yeah. Bad donuts.

00:15:44 - 00:15:57 | Speaker 3:

Like, I want the good donuts. I want the ones from, like, that Avon place in Pontiac that's so good. Right. All right. Thank you, Misfits Steve 2.0. Yeah. Have a good morning, y'all. Take care.

00:15:57 - 00:16:10 | Speaker 4:
