All right, it's Mojo in the Morning Show. So, Megan, I always like to hear stories of how things are going in your personal life. What's this story all about?

00:02:11 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 2:

This is not great. I don't know what is going on lately, but I had been talking to somebody for a little bit, and it wasn't that serious. We had gone on, like, a date, and this person tried to hook up. And I was just not interested, and I turned him down. and that person has since gone to our friend group and started talking about me behind my back because I turned them down for sex and I think this is really wild because first of all I have the text message receipts to prove my side of all this so it's just wild for you to lie in general and it's just also so immature and unnecessary like I didn't say anything I didn't do anything i didn't bring it up to my group of friends and they all brought it up to me and it's really starting to put a huge kind of rift in the middle of my friend group and i'm not sure a why he's doing this or b like how this is going to affect the friend group or how i should handle it and

00:03:14 - 00:03:25 | Speaker 3:

i'm super freaking frustrated like he's lying so like you you very just matter of factly said you were not interested in hooking up with him and how is he twisting it uh that i was desperately

00:03:25 - 00:03:39 | Speaker 2:

begging to sleep with him and like putting all these moves and made him uncomfortable and i have the text messages that show you asking me and me saying no like i don't know what you're getting

00:03:39 - 00:03:46 | Speaker 6:

out of this my dude wait he texts you yes so you have the receipts yes and so why like it would be

00:03:46 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 2:

a crappy thing to do but why don't you just screenshot that and send it to the group because it's gonna like yes that's probably what's going to happen out of all this but why do i even have

00:03:55 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 1:

to do that in the first place oh i agree with you there you think that he was trying to get ahead of it like he maybe he thought that you were gonna say he tried to sleep with me so he's like i'm

00:04:05 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 2:

gonna beat her to the punch and say no that's absolutely what he was trying to do because he got denied he got turned down and got upset about it by the way i find it so weird that somebody

00:04:15 - 00:04:19 | Speaker 6:

would text another person and say i want to what did he say what did he say in the text do you want

00:04:19 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 2:

to come over is an 11 30 at night text message do you want to come over and so it was just do you

00:04:25 - 00:04:28 | Speaker 6:

want to come over it wasn't like do you want to come over to hook up or what right but why is

00:04:28 - 00:04:39 | Speaker 2:

somebody texting me on wednesday at 11 30 do you want to come over and so you responded back with no thanks sorry it's too late for me but were there flirty texts before this at all or no yes

00:04:39 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

we had we were flirty so you were you were actually giving him a little flirtation then so it wasn't out of the blue that uh that this happened like that he would assume that that would

00:04:54 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 3:

even be something that you would be interested in right it's like being physical yeah yeah

00:04:58 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 2:

like that's where he thought it was

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 3:

heading yeah yeah and i was not interested and when i said no then he retaliated in our friend

00:05:05 - 00:05:13 | Speaker 1:

group wow wow and he and you have the text you clean these things out i think you gotta do it

00:05:13 - 00:05:30 | Speaker 3:

how dumb do you have to be and what were you going to accomplish by the way because nothing happened we could have just said nothing happened but instead you were like oh my god she was desperately trying to get with me. It's like, what were you, what was the point?

00:05:31 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 2:

Who is this guy and do you have to see him all the time?

00:05:33 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 3:

No, thank God. But we like, we had mutual friends. Like it's a friend of one of my best friend's boyfriends. So it's like, you're around, I'm around. We're going to be in these circles for a while. I'm not going to see you all the time, thank God. But like, we'll be around each other every once in a while.

00:05:51 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 1:

All right. So here, let's ask the listeners this question. If you have these texts, if Megan has these texts, should she share them with everybody just so everybody doesn't know that Megan is just sitting there trying to, you know, to lie about a circumstance that's happening? I mean, this guy's obviously trying to make you look like the bad person because he feels like he he didn't get what he wanted. Does anybody believe him?

00:06:12 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 2:

Like, are you feeling like people are like saying, yeah, are you on this group text that this is all happening and or somebody's telling you about it? Somebody's telling me about it. I would want to see. I would want screenshots from that conversation because to Kevin's point, I would want to know how everybody else is responding to it. All of my other quote unquote friends, how are they responding to it?

00:06:29 - 00:06:32 | Speaker 1:

How do you think that they're responding to it? Or do you know?

00:06:33 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 3:

I think that the guys are being guys. I'm like, yeah, dude. Yeah, bow coat. And I think the girls are all like rolling their eyes like that's clearly not what happened.

00:06:43 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

Hey, Amanda, what's up?

00:06:45 - 00:06:46 | Speaker 3:

Good morning, everyone.

00:06:47 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 1:

Good morning. What's going on? What do you think Megan should do?

00:06:49 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 6:

Megan I'm so sorry that this is happening to you because that's disgusting behavior and it you just I know when I was in this situation you feel so helpless yeah like it's like it's

00:07:01 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 3:

disgusting it's like middle school crap isn't it it does feel very childish but then it also feels like well if I defend myself that like well guys I just need you to believe me like it just makes me feel like no matter what I'm begging for somebody to be on my side yeah but I'd rather I feel like if they are, I'm sorry.

00:07:19 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 6:

No, go ahead. I feel like if they are your real friends, I mean, shout out to the ones who are telling you about this because I think they are real friends for you. But anybody else who's in on this conversation and is not telling this guy how disgusting his behavior is, including the men. And if those guys in your friend group are going along with him, they might be capable of this behavior, too. And that's disgusting. But I'm also hoping. It makes me worry for the girls in your friend group.

00:07:44 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 2:

I'm also hoping that one of the girls in that friend group says, I talked to Megan about this and she showed me the text and this is not the story. Like, why isn't somebody defending you in there?

00:07:56 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 1:

Hey, what's up, Kelly? Hi.

00:07:59 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 4:

Hi. Oh, my gosh. I was just going to say, this is pitiful. It's giving real sad boy Tinder energy.

00:08:07 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah. I mean, but how do you stop this from happening and stop the BS rumors and stuff from flying?

00:08:14 - 00:08:22 | Speaker 4:

i mean it's all his fault really so i mean all you can do is like talk to your friends and say

00:08:22 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 1:

hey like i feel like they should she's got the ultimate evidence of it by the written word in text messages what what do you think about exposing that like letting everybody see that

00:08:35 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 4:

oh i would at least to my close friends that it's an issue with I actually think she should post it up on our social media.

00:08:44 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 1:

Thoughts?

00:08:45 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I mean, it depends what he deserves. If he's being that petty about it, I wouldn't be against it.

00:08:53 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 1:

Listen to, hold on, Jenna's on the phone with us. She had a guy do this to her. When was this, Jenna, that this happened?

00:08:59 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 5:

Oh, this was years ago. This would have been.

00:09:02 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 1:

Back in college or something like that or high school?

00:09:04 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, 2010 probably. Okay, all right. 2009.

00:09:06 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 1:

What happened?

00:09:07 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 5:

But so pre-dating app days, to say the least. But yeah, so I had actually was a wing woman situation. I was just out with my friend who was interested in a guy and he had roommates and I was just along for the ride and I happened to just get cozy on the couch and I was ready to go to bed and this guy's like hitting on me. So we're like, whatever, you know, we had fun that night. But then I find out the next, you know, however, week later that he's telling his friends that I came on to him, and I'm like, what? I was ready to go to bed. I did not come on to him. He actually came over to me, so it was just a very scary situation. Why did it matter, though?

00:09:47 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 1:

Why would he even bring that up?

00:09:48 - 00:09:54 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, and I, yeah, why was it even talked about? I don't know, but I definitely had to clarify that that's not what happened.

00:09:55 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 1:

It's amazing. You know what it is? It's a guy's ego, and once a guy's ego is bruised, Gail. what's up it's mojo in the morning good morning guys good morning megan i am gonna tell you if he has the balls enough to air out all of this crap then you need to stick up for yourself and no matter how how gross it is air out all those text messages in that group chat because if he wants to be like that then no because that's not even okay because that right there is damaging your character to your friend. And if he wants to continue to damage your character for a lie, then you need to set that straight, sweetheart. Bye-bye. Related birthday, Zach. By the way,

00:10:36 - 00:11:06 | Speaker 5:

are you a 50-year-old woman that would like to kiss him? We're trying to find a 50-year-old woman to kiss him there. No, real quick, I think you're right. If you're willing to talk about it, and I know that we're not saying names on the radio, but obviously your friends listen and stuff, I think now that they know you got their seats, if I'm one of your friends, I'm going, i want to see this i want to see the text message because i want to i want to be able to do this and then i think the friends will be the ones that will go you know what we don't believe you so and honestly i think you're smart i think bringing it up on the air is all you need to do

00:11:06 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

i love this yeah it's my pedigree moment yes but you know what deserves i just i don't understand the immaturness of like just airing out the business because you got denied my dude yeah

00:11:20 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 5:

just chill out i think it would be better he'd get more sympathy if he said you know i really made a move on megan and i made a mistake because she's not feeling it that way and then it gives it goes oh okay this guy's actually kind of cute you know like he was at least i could be the bad

00:11:34 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 4:

guy they'd be like they don't know what she's missing bro yeah although if it's the guy that

00:11:38 - 00:12:12 | Speaker 5:

you think it is no you know what's funny is that as a guy i always never knew when to ask the girl because i had a lot of girlfriends when do you ask like how do you get the girl to cross that that friendship line like i always never knew and so i like there were so many girls that i became friends with over the years especially you know you know being like a younger guy like a 18 year old guy that i never knew i wonder if she would kiss me and i would just sit there and think about it all the time and never do and then you find out later that your high school reunion there's a guy

00:12:12 - 00:13:08 | Speaker 4:

fascinated there was a guy last year who missed it and he should have asked and he did it and now he avoids me and our friend group every time i'm around why why do you think he avoids you uh because he got so this is a guy i i kind of met we had a fling and it was like we did not know each other very well but we like just clicked and had a really great time and at some point in the night i was introduced to somebody else and who actually works in our industry and i was just chatting genuine business with this other man and the dude was very drunk that i had hit it off with and got very jealous and left and if he would have just stuck around we could have had like the best night and have you ever reached back out to him no because he i was supposed to see him the next day and he didn't show up and it was because he was everybody said he was avoiding me and i'm like you freaking idiot we could have had the best time best time if you would have just talked.

00:13:08 - 00:13:12 | Speaker 5:

I don't want to hear my sister talking about giving the guy the best time, but I just want you to know that.

00:13:12 - 00:13:28 | Speaker 4:

It was probably genuinely one of the most romantic, cute nights of my life. And I told Shannon about the thing that we did under the subway. Holy Christ. Yeah. Am I allowed to say that out loud? No, no, no.

00:13:28 - 00:13:30 | Speaker 5:

The thing under the subway. She did it under a subway.

00:13:30 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 4:

And it was like truly a movie moment. And I was like, oh, my God, this is going to be the best weekend ever, the best weekend ever. And then he totally just avoided me the rest of the weekend. I was so bummed.

00:13:40 - 00:13:56 | Speaker 5:

And then there's that guy that invites you over at 11 o'clock at night on a Wednesday. What the hell is he thinking? I love Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan, Megan. Neither new nor improved, but still better than the rest.

00:13:57 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 2:

Honestly, honestly, honestly, no one wants to think about HIV, but there are things that everyone can do to help prevent it. Things like PrEP. PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis, and it means routinely taking prescription medicine before you're exposed to HIV to help reduce your chances of getting it. PrEP can be about 99% effective when taken as prescribed. It doesn't protect against other STIs, though, so be sure to use condoms and other healthy sex practices. Ask a health care provider about all your prevention options and visit findoutaboutprep.com to learn more. Sponsored by Gilead.
