You go to Canada to do your shopping?

Bro, okay, can I? Oh, my God. I absolutely do this. I get so frustrated sometimes at the stores that you just assume would be everywhere that aren't in the Detroit area, and it's the most random places. I'm shocked that there's no Yankee Candles around here. The closest Yankee Candle to my apartment in downtown Detroit is the one in Levis Commons in Perrysburg in Ohio. Okay. So it's so far away. And then Bath and Body Works, there's like none close to downtown Detroit unless you go into Canada. So the thing I've been doing recently is just crossing the border to go shopping because it's closer. It's easier for me to cross the border to another country than it is to drive out to the suburbs. Okay, two things.

Three things. One, there was one right down the street from the radio station at 12 Oaks Mall. Two, I passed three of them on my way home. And three, why are you not getting me Smarties and Wonder Bars when you go to Canada?

One, you think that I remember to do any of my errands on the way home like a normal person? No, I wake up on a Saturday stressed at my to-do list thinking, ah, I shouldn't have done this on the way home.

Here's the interesting thing. For anybody that's listening to us on the iHeart app or if you're in West Michigan or even, you know, Toledo, going to Canada is, what, a quick drive over the bridge or through the tunnel?

I'm not kidding you. I could drive from my parking garage to Canada in about two and a half minutes.

Okay, really? But how getting across and having to deal with all the border stuff?

Here's the thing. I feel like I've been very lucky. Now, every time I've gone over to go shopping, I get through in about five minutes. So truly a shorter. But every once in a while, I'm waiting for the butthole pucker moment where you're stuck in line. You can't turn around and you're there for two hours. Like when Lydia and I crossed the border and we were stuck for two hours.

Yeah, that's that's the one that sucks. And then you find out that there's, you know, issues on the bridge with all the trucks and stuff like that. OK, so here's the deal. How what is the craziest distance that you go to shop at one store? I want to know that because I know a lot of people that will all go up to the outlet stores and they travel but they'll go for like one or two things. They don't go and make a day of it like I don't mean like why are you going to do you know what's the outlet store that's on its way to the Lansing? Not Birch Run that's uh what is that one? Tanger Outlets Is that what it is? The hangar ones? Yeah

Tanger ones? But there's ones on the way on 96 just off of that thing Yeah. Like if you're somebody that lives in, I don't know, Bloomfield Hills or if you live in Grand Rapids. Are you driving on that 96 to go there to go shopping at Polo or whatever it is that's there? Right. Just for like a couple of shirts or something like that? 844 Mojo Live.

So I actually traveled, not to go shopping, but I actually traveled three hours one time just to get a hot dog from Carl Hardy's, which it was like the all-American hot dog burger, right? They had the hot dog on the burger.

I made that trip out. They didn't even have it anymore. Oh, my gosh. That's awful. Yeah, so it was like a three-hour drive. I mean, it was with my wife, so, you know, it wasn't a wasted trip, right? I'm not going to lie to you.

If food was part of this, I would say that this topic's over with because I definitely did the whole driving to go get Portillo's before it opened up here in Fort Wayne.

I drove two hours one way to a Mellow Mushroom one time.

Go Megan Mick. Yeah. And one thing, yeah, we travel for, like, we go to a couple restaurants. There was Rhodesio in Columbus, amazing food. There used to be a restaurant in Canada I would love to travel to called Blue Danube. Sadly, it's closed and no longer open. They're like the best Hungarian food you could find around here.

And one of my favorite also places is to travel to Metzger's in Ann Arbor. I would 100% recommend going there if you like German food.

You know what? Can I tell you something about going to Canada? You know how they always ask you, what did you come over for? What did you do? I feel bad when I say it's just for food. like her dinner. Like, I remember Tunnel Barbecue was always the place that we would love to go to. Chelsea and I, we loved it so much. The food was awesome. But we'd be like, why did you guys crust burr? We went and got ribs.

And they always look at you funny, too. Like, what do you mean?
