it is the mojo in the morning show so megan did something before she went to grand rapids that was very very safe or was it for her to do what what did you do megan um so i have been

00:01:47 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 1:

kind of um slowly dying on the inside and what i mean is i've ignored all of my uh responsibilities to keep myself alive for as long as possible the past two weeks i have probably i'm not kidding you two weeks total slept maybe maybe 20 hours wow i don't sleep throughout the night i don't uh or i was out in chicago having a really fun time just being an absolute mess of a human being and i think it really started to catch up with me because on Friday we did the broadcast in Detroit and we were going straight to Grand Rapids and um as I was driving over I started doing the scary head bob you know where you like have to roll down on your windows and start blaring your music and you're like I'm fine I'm fine at one point I even pulled over at a rest stop and I just walked around for like three minutes I was like hyping myself up you got this we're gonna make it we're only like an hour from Grand Rapids. We got this. We got this. I get back in the car and I was like, we do not have this. Just like anything in life. This is not going to make it. And so I decided you know what? This isn't safe anymore. I pulled over and I slept at a truck stop for three hours. Oh, wow. I mean, good for you but man, you needed to sleep. And when I woke up, I didn't set an alarm or anything because I was like, I'm going to sleep for like a half hour. I just need a quick little power nap. Three hours later, I'm like, What year is it?

00:03:15 - 00:03:16 | Unknown:

Be a second.

00:03:17 - 00:03:32 | Speaker 1:

Megan, you have always said you aspire to be a lot lizard. You were a lot lizard for three hours. Bro, I was laying down the foundations. And to your point, Shannon, I think somebody thought I was a lot lizard. Because when I woke up, there was a man parked next to me just staring at me.

00:03:32 - 00:03:34 | Speaker 5:

Oh, my God. Hopefully your doors were locked.

00:03:34 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 1:

I didn't see any arm movement. I didn't see anything. But I'm not saying it didn't happen. because I am obviously attractive while I'm sleeping at a car.

00:03:43 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 5:

Now, if you're a woman who's tired and has to sleep in a lot like that, do you pull up right next to the rest area so that you're in a well-trafficked area? Or do you want to be over in the corner away from everybody so nobody's looking at you? Like, what's your move?

00:03:59 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 1:

Me personally? Yeah. Well, I think there's... A part of me wanted to be where a lot of cars were. Yeah. So, like, if anything happens...

00:04:07 - 00:04:07 | Speaker 5:

You're safer.

00:04:08 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. But also you don't want to advertise to people that you're sleeping like right do you hide? I don't know I was in a pretty packed spot, but that doesn't stop guys from being weird and this guy was straight up

00:04:20 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 3:

Staring at me. All right. Let's ask the truckers. Truckers call us up. We're number one with truckers Where should Megan have slept and did she sleep in the right place?

00:04:29 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 6:

We got into Tulsa town. We had 85 trucks in all.

00:04:33 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 3:

Megan in the back of the cab. Wouldn't it be great to have a vehicle like that? I've often thought to myself, I would love to have, maybe not a, you know, a semi-truck that has like a little bed, you know, right there in the back. But maybe like one of those like RVs, like a small RV or something to sleep in.

00:04:50 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 2:

I was like, isn't that called an RV? Wouldn't it be great? Yeah. Megan and the truckers hanging out there. inside, by the way, to see if they have any fun things. They always have great gifts in there that you

00:05:05 - 00:05:09 | Speaker 5:

could purchase. Dude, there was a Sherpa blanket that I was really considering

00:05:09 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 6:

buying. It's like the best entire gas station gifts you'll ever get are at those

00:05:15 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 2:

truck stops. Yeah, I'm telling you, you did that one Christmas, remember, where you bought us gifts because you were doing our Breaking and Entering Christmas Wishes and traveling across Michigan and Ohio? It's some of the

00:05:25 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 6:

most random stuff in the entire world, but it's all incredible. It's amazing

00:05:29 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 2:

that you can actually buy like everything from a stereo system for your car to toys for your children it's like the greatest thing ever uh tammy what's going on tammy uh megan slept in a uh in a

00:05:43 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 5:

truck stop well my son would do this all the time was it safe yes yes for him for sure so he would leave like say detroit area around dinner time-ish and would put in like a good you know six eight hours but like two or three in the morning you're like okay you gotta stop so then he would stop pull into a truck stop area and would sleep there just like in his car so he didn't have to like hotel because he just needed that two to three hour refresher so he could keep going yeah and it was always easier for him to drive at night because there was less traffic

00:06:14 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 2:

all of that kind of stuff i've i've often wondered do the little hotels that are on the side of the road ever sell their rooms for by the hour if it's not that you're going in with a hooker You know, like, I know that you can bring, like, a hooker in there and do that, but I don't know. Well, I don't know if you can bring a hooker in there, but I hear those stories. Boy, I think I just backed into something there. Rumor happens. Hold on a second. Next caller, please. No, but, you know, those little, how they have those motels on the side of the road, the roadside motels.

00:06:44 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. They look like they've been there for 200 years, some of them.

00:06:48 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 2:

You know what's great? You ever go to Delta, the Sky Lounge or whatever? They have little areas where you could sleep if you wanted to. Do they really? Yeah. And they should have.

00:06:59 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 4:

Like with vets?

00:07:00 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 2:

Yes, I believe so. Yeah, there's areas in the airport where if you have like a stay, you can actually grab a little sleep. And I think that the Sky Lounge, somebody told me, has it. And I know that there's like one place that you can go to. Like, you know, those little like massage places? I know people will go there and they'll sleep. But that's in the airport. Okay. Somebody should invent this off of 96 or 94 or 75 or whatever.

00:07:23 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 5:

I want those pods, those pod hotels.

00:07:24 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 2:

Yes.

00:07:25 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 5:

I want those so bad.

00:07:27 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 2:

It would be so awesome. That'd be like the non-trucker place to go.

00:07:31 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 5:

Right, right.

00:07:32 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 2:

Amanda, what's going on?

00:07:34 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 5:

Hey, guys. How are you?

00:07:35 - 00:07:37 | Speaker 2:

Good. You had a question for Megan?

00:07:37 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 5:

I did. Megan, did you run out of gas? No, but let me tell you, I went through a full quarter tank, and all I kept thinking was, gas is $3.50 right now. What did I just do?

00:07:46 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. I was going to say, are you going to be cold for three hours?

00:07:52 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 6:

I didn't even think about the fact that you're leaving the car running the entire time, too. Of course I was.

00:07:56 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 1:

Which then makes it seem more likely that someone might want to try stealing it. Like, ooh, somebody went inside and left their car running.

00:08:03 - 00:08:21 | Speaker 2:

Mine shuts off. So I have this, like, thing on my Tahoe, which I hate. Like, if I'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for, you know, Luke to come out of school or something like that, it will run for a little bit, and then it counts down and shuts off on me. And I hate that it does that, you know? Because then I've got to, like, start it and move it for a second and then kind of go.

00:08:21 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 5:

but your jeep doesn't do that no that to me is like when an apple watch tells you to stand up

00:08:25 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 2:

hey mine said seven times already jennifer what's up good morning how are you guys good what's going

00:08:32 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 4:

on good so i used to travel a lot and when i would travel by myself or even with somebody i never stopped at a state rest area you always have to stop at a truck stop because state rest areas are scary places yeah but when you do you always want to park like by the gas pumps never by the truck stops. They're not by the truckers.

00:08:52 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 2:

That's weird. Yeah, but aren't the people at the gas pumps going to be upset if you're just sitting there?

00:08:56 - 00:09:02 | Speaker 4:

Well, no, because normal truck stops like that, they have parking spots around everywhere. Oh, okay. So that means you can

00:09:02 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 2:

pull off and go to sleep. See, the rest stops in Ohio aren't creepy. The ones in Michigan are

00:09:06 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 4:

creepy. They are super creepy.

00:09:08 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 2:

Like the ones in Ohio, you don't ever start a Dateline NBC from one of those. But the ones in Michigan,

00:09:14 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 1:

there's a Dateline NBC that starts. Well, because they build in four different restaurants and bathrooms and a Starbucks and so you really have a lot of people going in and out. In Michigan, it's usually like a rest stop, like literally vending machines and a 1970s bathroom, and that's it.

00:09:27 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 2:

And some dude trying to pick you up. What's going on, trucker? Derek, what's happening?

00:09:32 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

What's going on, guys? Megan definitely made the right choice.

00:09:36 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 2:

So she was in the safe spot?

00:09:37 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 3:

Always go to a truck stop. Oh, yeah. You want to stay somewhere well-lit, if anything, but truckers don't really put up with that stuff. Like, the lot lizards exist toward big cities, stuff like that, But for the most part, like, you know, we've always got eyes somewhere around there.

00:09:52 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

Hold on, let me.

00:09:53 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 5:

Less competition, smaller cities. Got it. Derek, let me comprehend. We're not big on.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Unknown:

the asphalt ash lands, you know.

00:10:02 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 7:

Oh, my God. That's great. That's a new one.

00:10:05 - 00:10:07 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. A little pavement princess.

00:10:08 - 00:10:10 | Speaker 7:

Trucker Derek, we're adding...

00:10:10 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 1:

I love that he's cracking up at his own jokes, too.

00:10:12 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 7:

We're adding somebody to this call. We're adding Steven to this call. Trucker Steven, are you there, is Trucker Steven?

00:10:17 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, good morning, guys. How are you doing today? This here's a rubber duck. You've got a copy on me.

00:10:21 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:10:23 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 4:

Hey, I was just calling because I travel in 96th a lot towards Grand Rapids. I'm from Ohio. So what you can do, too, Megan, is you can't pull off on a scale house where you see the trucks get off and you have the DOC officers. You can't pull in there because that's a safe haven. Oh, are they okay with you sleeping in there?

00:10:42 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 6:

No, no, no. That place is filled with cops. No, no way. No, no, no.

00:10:48 - 00:11:05 | Speaker 4:

I'm just thinking if you're driving, if you want to drive and, you know, be safe and like that, you can't pull in those other safe havens. So if you need a quick little nap, because they are heavily betrothed. So I would recommend my wife and kids and my daughter to go to there and take a quick little nap up in that area.

00:11:05 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 6:

That's really good to know, but I sleep in my car more often than I'd like to admit. Do you know how many times a cop has like, what do you do? Roll down your window. Are you on drugs? I don't need that in my life. I'm just tired. It's dangerous to be driving in this condition, officer. What condition? Tired.

00:11:24 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 7:

Trucker Derek and Trucker Steven, I know you guys don't talk on CB as much anymore, right? You don't do the whole Breaker 1-9 thing?

00:11:30 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 4:

I try. I try my best to keep that tradition alive. I've been driving a truck for 15 years. I try, but it's a shame because a lot of companies don't even have them in there or don't even want them in there no more because they are a distraction. What's your handle?

00:11:42 - 00:11:43 | Speaker 7:

What's your handle on there?

00:11:44 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 4:

Oh, I just call myself the bearded one. And what's the code?

00:11:49 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 10:

How would you say hot girl sleeping in a Jeep with her mouth open?

00:11:54 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 4:

Well, I would probably say more of a lot lizard, probably. A clean version, a clean version.

00:12:03 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 7:

What should Megan's handle be if she got a CB?

00:12:07 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 4:

Beautiful.

00:12:08 - 00:12:10 | Speaker 7:

Oh, Megan. Love the trucker.

00:12:10 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 5:

I love Megan. I love truckers. You are my security blanket when I lose my job. Just know that I'm entering your industry in a sexual way.

00:12:21 - 00:12:42 | Speaker 4:

You can't just pull up. You can't just pull up. Usually there's an officer outside the scale house. You can just let them know, like, hey, I just need a quick little cat nap. They'll kind of tell you to cop up over there. But, yeah, they're pretty cool. The officers on 96 are actually pretty cool, even course truckers, because there's four scale houses, so they deal with us all the time.

00:12:42 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 10:

They'd much rather see you rested than driving, falling asleep.

00:12:45 - 00:13:09 | Speaker 3:
