Megan, what is going on with you? You thought that you were going to be burglared?

00:02:11 - 00:02:13 | Speaker 5:

No, burgled.

00:02:13 - 00:02:17 | Speaker 6:

Why do I not know that I've ever heard that before, burgled?

00:02:17 - 00:02:19 | Speaker 5:

I love that word. Say it again.

00:02:19 - 00:02:20 | Speaker 6:

Burgled?

00:02:21 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 5:

It does sound like you're about to burp. Is it burgled?

00:02:23 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 6:

What is it?

00:02:24 - 00:02:27 | Speaker 5:

Burgled? That might be the fancy way.

00:02:27 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 6:

Use it in a sentence for me.

00:02:29 - 00:02:30 | Speaker 5:

I thought I was going to be burgled.

00:02:31 - 00:02:36 | Speaker 6:

That's what I just said. But I didn't say the word right. What was it? What happened?

00:02:36 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 5:

So I have a, by the way, 10 out of 10 would not recommend being a homeowner. It is absolutely the worst decision I have ever made. Just in case I haven't made that abundantly clear, don't do it. But I've been trying to get a whole bunch of trees removed and cleaned up in my yard. specifically three need to go in the backyard and two of them need to get cleaned up in the front yard i say that because if you know somebody who works for a tree company please let me know i've contacted five only heard back from one and i i i'm not sure if i trust this individual because i gave him my address which i should have been a little bit skeptical because so far all communications have taken place via tech text message not like phone calls not emails just text from a personal number and um I gave him my address again second red flag for me and then the third red flag to pop up is every time I say I'm at home he can't make it to come give me an estimate but if I'm not home he says he's available I believe I'm about to be burgled

00:03:41 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 3:

so you think he's just he's trying to learn your schedule to figure out when you're not going to be home so that he can come and steal everything that you have inside that house exactly exactly

00:03:53 - 00:04:22 | Speaker 5:

And I, fun fact, have nothing worth stealing, so good luck. I'm more worried. This happened to me when my car got broken into, right? This happened a long time ago. My window got smashed. The door was unlocked. All they had to do was open the door. My purse got stolen, and it totaled my car because replacing the window was more expensive than anything else. Yeah. So I'm afraid if somebody breaks into my house, you're going to total my house because it's going to cost me more to fix the door than my house is worth.

00:04:22 - 00:04:35 | Speaker 6:

Burgled, to break into and steal from a home, a business, et cetera, burglarized. Burgled is a British word. No wonder why I don't know it.

00:04:35 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 3:

I think they use it in the Paddington Bear movies. Do they? Is where I've heard it before. That's how you heard it? Hugh Grant, yeah.

00:04:41 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 6:

Because I didn't hear it ever before until you just said that, so I had no idea.

00:04:45 - 00:04:48 | Speaker 5:

So instead of like, we've been robbed, or I'm going to get robbed.

00:04:48 - 00:04:49 | Speaker 6:

You're going to be burgled.

00:04:49 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 5:

I'm going to be burgled. It's a better word. It is.

00:04:50 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

What is the story with tree trimmers and tree people? Tree people have the world by the balls. Yeah. They have Megan by her.

00:05:00 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 1:

big old balls because she needs it so bad. She needs these guys to come out and do their thing. And they pretty much are, are playing hard to get with her because either they're so busy because there's been so many trees that have been down from all these storms, or there's not enough people that have chainsaws and you know, those you know, things that you put the trees into that kind of turns them into, to nothing.

00:05:28 - 00:05:29 | Speaker 3:

Prices are ridiculous.

00:05:29 - 00:05:41 | Speaker 2:

That's what I was just going to say. I had to have that done like two or three times since I moved into the house that I'm living in now. And it is so ungodly expensive to have a tree removed or trimmed. Holy hell.

00:05:42 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 1:

You know who tree trimmers are like? Tree trimmers are like the wet bandits from Home Depot. That's what they're like. They're like the two guys. Home alone? Or home alone.

00:05:52 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 2:

I was really trying to. I'm like, wait, I'm missing this.

00:05:54 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 1:

You're talking about the wet bandits from, what did I say? Home Improvement? You said Home Depot. Home Depot.

00:05:59 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 3:

It's like they've gone through rehabilitation and they don't have full-time jobs.

00:06:04 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

From Home Alone. I got the name of them right. It's Joe Pesci. What was the other actor's name? Daniel Stern. Daniel Stern. And they're the guys that come, you know, in a weird-looking van that looks very shady. They don't have a name on the side of the van. They come out and they look like they're, you know, wearing somebody else's clothes. What's going on, Amanda? How you doing?

00:06:25 - 00:06:27 | Speaker 5:

Hi. How are you guys?

00:06:27 - 00:06:29 | Speaker 1:

We're doing good. Do you think Megan's going to be burgled?

00:06:30 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 5:

She's going to be okay.

00:06:32 - 00:06:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:06:33 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 5:

She will be okay. When COVID hit, I decided I met this guy at the gym and he's like, do you want to do this little side gig, which was literally working for a guy who takes trees down. And I did it all summer, and they are weird guys. Any guy who cuts a tree down, they're weird. So, like, everything with the quotes and the text, that's exactly what he would do. Like, he was always texting, and then he would just go to your house, and he would look at the tree like he would do a drive-by and then he would like text you and just give you the estimate. And then that's literally how it would go. And then they would pay him and then he would do it and then he'd dip.

00:07:08 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, they don't seem like, one of the things that they don't seem like, they don't seem like business many guys, like they don't seem like they have business cards. Right. They don't seem like, they don't seem like they actually give you a receipt on anything other than. And where are you

00:07:21 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 2:

pulling these prices from?

00:07:23 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 5:

These guys are like drug dealers. Oh, he's totally winging it. Yeah, the whole thing, the guy It's so unorganized. I mean, it really is what you're thinking. It is, like, very unorganized. At one point, after I started doing the physical work, I'm like, I cannot do this. So then he was letting me help him with, like, doing quotes and stuff. And, like, I tried my best, but it was bad.

00:07:42 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 1:

I often thought to myself that if I liked manual labor, that that would be the job to do. Maybe I should actually put money towards finding people that will do it and just send people out there. Because you can actually.

00:07:54 - 00:07:55 | Speaker 5:

They may need so much money.

00:07:55 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 1:

You can actually, you know, charge whatever you want. Yeah, okay, lady. And then you look at the house. Oh, that's a nice, expensive house. I'll charge her, like, an arm and a leg and stuff for this.

00:08:09 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 5:

It's true, though.

00:08:10 - 00:08:10 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:08:10 - 00:08:14 | Speaker 5:

They do, and they make a lot of money, and then he goes on trips in the winter, you know?

00:08:14 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 1:

Oh, that's it. He doesn't work during the winter. What's up, Spencer? How you doing? Oh, I lost you, Spencer. Spencer was a tree trimming guy, it looked like, here. I was going to comment from, I don't know if he was from Toledo, though. That's the other thing, too. If you're a tree trimmer or a tree guy, you've got to be from Toledo or at least Monroe in order to make it worth your while to go to Megan's house and steal her money. What's up, Jill?

00:08:37 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. I think if every time she's not home, he's available, I think she should say she's not home but be home and see if he shows up.

00:08:46 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 2:

Oh, good idea. Play his bluff.

00:08:50 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 3:

But I don't know if you know this about me. I have anxiety.

00:08:54 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, but you're with your brother, right?

00:08:56 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 3:

Yes, but if he shows up, you know what's going to happen to me. I'm going to be laying on my hardwood floors for an hour until he leaves. It's just going to be me crawling around, peeking out the windows.

00:09:05 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 4:

I'm going to be crawling, looking through the windows.

00:09:07 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

You know what you need to do is I've done this before with people. I wasn't home in time for my appointment, and I talked to them through my ring doorbell.

00:09:16 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah. You're one of those too, right?

00:09:18 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 1:

Because I don't need to necessarily walk outside with them and show them the trees. What I'll do is I'll talk to them either on the phone or through the ring doorbell, and then I'll tell them, you know, all right, talk to me a little bit about this, you know? Megan, try that. See if it works.

00:09:32 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 4:

Just talk to me. Yeah, I definitely think that he's up to something shady. Thank you.

00:09:37 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 1:

Thank you. What's the name of the company, too? Because that's the other thing. They always have names of companies, too. It's like Bob Tree Service.

00:09:43 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 2:

No, I was going to say, it's very simple. It is very simple. I'm not going to say. One, two, three. Yeah.

00:09:48 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, tree gunning one, two, three. What's up? Spencer's back with us. Hi, Spencer. Hey, how's it going? You actually have a person to do Megan's trees or rob her. Yep.

00:10:00 - 00:10:05 | Speaker 5:

Yep. I mean, the one might do both. I haven't talked to him in a while.

00:10:06 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 6:

But you know for a fact that this particular person actually does trees for a living, or are you just... Oh, yeah.

00:10:15 - 00:10:18 | Speaker 5:

He owns a tree removal landscape company. Okay.

00:10:18 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 1:

Okay, but is he licensed? Because that's a new thing I learned about. They've got to be licensed, too.

00:10:24 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 5:

He is fully licensed, insured. And insured. Yeah.

00:10:28 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 6:

I don't care if they're insured necessarily

00:10:30 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 5:

Yeah until they drop a big limb on your house

00:10:33 - 00:11:22 | Speaker 6:

See I really That's the other thing I don't really care As long as it drops And they take it with them Goes right through your roof No take it with What I'll do is I'll tell the insurance company That a tree fell down in a storm or something I won't even tell on you At that particular time But I want these people Actually just to show up for the appointment At that point I don't care what it is The most interesting thing is Spencer and I don't know if this is the guy that you're talking about, when the tree-trimming guy shows up and he's got missing fingers. Does your guy have all of his fingers? When they show up and they have missing fingers, you're like, that's the guy I want. That is dedication right there. He kept his job. He didn't file for workman's comp because he didn't want to work anymore. What's the name of the tree-trimming guy, or do you want to tell us off the air?

00:11:23 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 5:

Me? No, Spencer. The one in Toledo area there is Outdoor Inspiration. I used to work for them for a lot of years. He's really good.

00:11:33 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 6:

Okay. Well, hold on. Talk to us off the air and see if you can give more information to Megan. It's a very lovely name for a tree trimming company.

00:11:39 - 00:11:41 | Speaker 4:

Outdoor Inspiration.

00:11:41 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 6:

It almost kind of sounds like a health spa or something. You know?

00:11:47 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 2:

Your laugh, by the way, is phenomenal.

00:11:49 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 4:
