Modo Casino, America's Social Casino. It is Mojo in the Morning, Channel 955 in Detroit. 104.5 SNX, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and 92.5 KISS FM in Toledo. And speaking of Toledo, Megan witnessed a crime yesterday in Toledo.

00:02:31 - 00:02:37 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, you guys know how I'm not dramatic at all? Eh, yeah. I was going to let that be silent for a second.

00:02:37 - 00:02:40 | Speaker 7:

Shannon's nodding at me to just play along there for a second.

00:02:40 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm not dramatic at all. I almost died yesterday, and I'm still here. i was driving downhill um i was kind of over near the university of toledo and you know over there it's very crazy people drive like maniacs people are weaving in and out of lanes i love it everybody's got a place to be and when i'm in a rush i usually take that road so i was on it yesterday and we were um just you know minding our own business listening to some some jams on the radio and all of a sudden you just hear tires screeching and um everybody slamming on their brakes and oh it was loud like you just heard like and then and then another car and i was like okay we are going to hit the person in front of us and we are going to get smashed from behind and you ever like go through an accident that's almost like in slow motion where you're like all this is going to be happening just breathe it's going to be fine and then it doesn't happen and

00:03:40 - 00:03:53 | Speaker 7:

the adrenaline like rushes through you anytime that i look at my phone to text and that happens where i almost hit somebody and i'm like i'll never text ever again you know right so we uh

00:03:53 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 3:

we were like oh my god i can't believe that just happens um we're inches from people like there had to have been a strand of hair in between us and the guy behind us i mean it's a miracle that we didn't get absolutely smashed and we're looking at the car like two links in front of us and nobody's in front of them and we can't figure out what is going on yeah and we're looking around and this guy on my peripheral vision starts running towards this car and i'm thinking maybe there's a medical emergency maybe something's going on nope absolutely not reached in through the window did a drug deal and then ran off stop i'm not kidding wait how do you know it was a drug deal Because it was very obviously a drug deal. Like, baggy in the hand went into the window. A pile of cash came out of the window. No way, Megan. Absolutely. The thing that irritated me the most is that there were 17 empty parking lots that they could have pulled into, but instead they just slammed on their brakes in the middle of a hill and literally almost caused a seven-car pileup. Now, you do you, boo. You go get the things that make you happy in life. But don't cause me to get in a car accident. Wow. You need to get it. Wait.

00:05:00 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 1:

So this is, can I tell you that this is my dream come true? Like, I'm one of those people that, do you ever watch that show back in the day, Cops? I think it might be back on, like, cable or something like that, or back on the streaming.

00:05:13 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 2:

Hey, Live PD is filming in Florida right now.

00:05:15 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 1:

I want to watch that live, like, I want to actually witness this stuff.

00:05:20 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 2:

Uh-huh.

00:05:21 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

I love it. Has anybody ever witnessed a crime or got a chance to, like, you know, be right in the center of something like that? Like a big, maybe drug deal thing or whatever. You know the whole thing with me. If I wasn't a radio person, I wanted to be either a high school gym teacher or a drug dealer. No, I wanted to be a high school gym teacher or a cop. I always wanted to be a cop.

00:05:48 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 3:

I think you would be a great cop.

00:05:49 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 1:

Wouldn't I? I'd be a great cop that writes like the parking tickets in Birmingham and Royal Oak or downtown Grand Rapids.

00:05:57 - 00:05:58 | Speaker 3:

You drive like the little golf cart.

00:05:58 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'd be a cop in that little golf cart-y type thing. Or not golf cart, but what is it? It's like a little covered...

00:06:07 - 00:06:08 | Speaker 3:

It's like a special vehicle.

00:06:08 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 1:

It looks like the car that used to take the pitchers to the pitcher's mound when they were coming in from the bullpen in baseball. And they're driving it around all day. Wow, that's wild, Megan.

00:06:19 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 2:

I know. It was kind of exciting. After the fact that I realized, okay, we didn't total this car, it was kind of fun to watch.

00:06:26 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's kind of cool. Oh, we got some people that have witnessed a crime. The only crimes that I think I have ever witnessed in my life have ever been just somebody getting arrested after the fact. Like, I've seen that happen before, like where a car gets pulled over and they got them out of the car and they're, like, taking stuff out of the car.

00:06:43 - 00:06:59 | Speaker 3:

Right, and I am the idiot that slows down because I'm like, what are they taking out of the car? Did you see here in the Detroit area the ladies that were busted stealing? I think they stole, like, a couple hundred Bath & Body Works candles. Yes. And they had to take them all out of the car.

00:07:00 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. By the way, I've always wanted to also be in a bank when a bank robbery took place.

00:07:05 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I don't.

00:07:06 - 00:07:08 | Speaker 1:

Yes. I want to be on the floor.

00:07:08 - 00:07:10 | Speaker 3:

My anxiety would get me. I would have a heart attack.

00:07:10 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 1:

I want to be on the floor and then whispering to the person next to me, just take home.

00:07:14 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 3:

Have I ever told you that my family was, we were involved in a drive-by shooting? Oh, geez. Did I ever tell you this story? Wow. Yeah, our house. They hit a bunch of houses. This was when I was maybe going into fifth grade. I mean, I was little. And they hit a bunch of houses on Grosseal, and we were one of them. And it was the scariest thing ever.

00:07:32 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

00:07:33 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 3:

But, like, nine bullet holes in our house.

00:07:34 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 1:

Oh, geez. I'm glad you guys are all right. What's up, Bella?

00:07:38 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Megan, you said you thought you were going to get smashed from behind? Oh, no. That's what she said. That's what she said. That's what she said. That's what she said.

00:07:48 - 00:07:49 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God.

00:07:50 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 5:

Sorry. I was, like, sitting at my desk, and you said that, and I immediately... You had to.

00:07:54 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

I was like, that's what she said. Right. I love you.

00:07:56 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 2:

I love you for calling in for that.

00:07:58 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 1:

Ann, what's up?

00:08:00 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 4:

Hi. So I work down at the courthouse in Toledo, and so I totally get what Mike is saying. The stuff that I read and the dumb stuff that people do and stuff that I've just witnessed when I'm driving around the city of Toledo is unbelievable. They have people that will rob a pizza delivery driver and get $5 off of them, and they'll end up catching, like, a felony for, you know, robbery charge because they wanted to rob the pizza guy.

00:08:28 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 3:

Up for a pizza and five bucks. Yeah. But this, I mean, just so blatant in the middle of a street with a bunch of other cars around. Right.

00:08:36 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 1:

Listen to this. Steph, you watched the SWAT team swarm your neighbor's house?

00:08:44 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 5:

Yeah. So they were running up our driveway to get through our backyard to access this other guy's backyard a block away. He was on the run from the police. He ran into a random house, this old lady who was making Thanksgiving Day dinner, and he held her hostage. It lasted several hours. She was in the process of making Thanksgiving dinner. So however it came to pass, she finished making food. She fed him. Maybe he was hungry. He fell asleep, all that turkey, I guess. And she ran out when he fell asleep, and the SWAT team ran in and got him.

00:09:11 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 1:

Wow. That's wild. And it's like true SWAT, right?

00:09:15 - 00:09:23 | Speaker 5:

They're all dressed up in, like, the whole black scalia, all the stuff they're carrying, the weaponry. We were running up our driveway up in our backyard. Wow.

00:09:24 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 1:

That's crazy.

00:09:25 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 3:

That is your dream right there.

00:09:26 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 1:

That's like honestly my dream.

00:09:27 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 3:

You'd be out there with your phone. For sure.

00:09:29 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 1:

The funny thing is I'd walk outside. Live streaming. I'd walk outside and I'd go, hi guys, how you doing? Is there anything that you need?

00:09:34 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 3:

I'm a member of the media.

00:09:36 - 00:09:42 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. I just want you to know I'm fully credentialed. I have it right here.

00:09:42 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 3:

Might have made my own credential, but I have one.

00:09:44 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 1:

I just want you to know, seriously, before Mara McDonald comes out here and gets the exclusive, I'm Mojo from Mojo in the Morning. I'll give you the whole opportunity to tell your story right here. What's going on, Elena? How you doing?

00:09:59 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 5:

Good.

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 4:

are you good we're talking about how Megan witnessed a crime yesterday yeah so I accidentally

00:10:06 - 00:10:53 | Speaker 5:

was part of a crime um I was an uber driver a couple years ago and I picked up a guy and he made a pit stop to CVS um before his final destination and while at CVS it was taking a really long time and I was getting ready to ditch him I'm like this guy's taking too long and so he comes out and after he's coming out there's a store employee walking in front of him not wanting him to come out so he like kind of shoved her aside and hopped in the car and he I just left he didn't say anything and as I'm pulling out the cops are pulling in so after I dropped him off he actually asked me to drop him off at a store instead of the house he was going to I called the CVS to see if anything was related and it actually was related so technically I was his Getaway driver.

00:10:53 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. That's amazing.

00:10:55 - 00:11:18 | Speaker 5:

Holy cow. I felt so bad. I was pulling out. When the cops were pulling in, I should have stayed. Did you get questioned? No. They told me that everything was handled. And I gave them the information of where the address was to where I was supposed to take him. But told them that he actually wanted to get dropped off at a different location. And I gave him that information, too. But, no, that was it.

00:11:19 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 4:

Crazy story. That's an amazing story. Thank you for calling.

00:11:22 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 5:

You're welcome. Have a good one, guys.

00:11:24 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 4:

Appreciate that. Alice, you were in a store when there was a holdup. This is kind of like being in a bank robbery. What kind of store was it?

00:11:35 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 6:

It was a tennis shoe store, a Vance tennis shoe store in California. Wow. I was a teenager, and we were closing, and these kids came in to order tennis shoes. And he put out the form with all zeros, like, you know, to pick the color and the style and all that. I'm like, that's not even right. what are you talking about and he had this little gun pointed at me it had like the two holes horizontal to each other i didn't look like a real gun he goes this is a real gun i go oh my gosh my whole blood just went to my feet and he said to get on the ground and where's the safe and all this and and then he said we had to count my my best friend was with me because we were going to go out after we left and he said don't get up and count to 100 and she jumped up right when he went out the door and called 911 and they caught the guys at a gas station a few blocks away and they said they wanted to take us with the cop car to drive by and see if it's them but i was afraid so don't worry they won't be able to see you we'll put our brights on them and we saw them

00:12:35 - 00:12:45 | Speaker 4:

and it was them they got caught wow who robs a van store like you know what i mean like how much money is in a van store did they did they steal merchandise too about the body works thing

00:12:45 - 00:12:47 | Speaker 6:

500, probably like 500.

00:12:47 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 4:

Did they take any shoes, though? Did they, like, look for their size?

00:12:51 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 6:

No.

00:12:52 - 00:12:56 | Speaker 4:

What would happen if all of a sudden they're like, get on the floor? No, get up and get me a size 8.

00:12:57 - 00:13:00 | Speaker 1:

Actually, can you measure my feet? Do they still do that? Just to make sure I get the right sizes.

00:13:00 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 4:

Do you have this in blue? Wow. Amazing.

00:13:05 - 00:13:21 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, it was pretty scary. After that, we found out they were part of a gang, and they wanted to retaliate. So one day, about a month later, I was standing in the front window, and someone drove by really fast and shot into the glass, but it didn't hit me. That's crazy.

00:13:21 - 00:13:26 | Speaker 4:

I would not be working there anymore. They retaliated because you guys...

00:13:26 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 6:

My mom made me get out of there. Yeah. Wow. Yeah.

00:13:29 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 4:

What part of California was this?

00:13:32 - 00:13:36 | Speaker 6:

Southern California. In Glendora. It's called Glendora.

00:13:36 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 4:

I don't know.

00:13:37 - 00:13:37 | Speaker 6:

It's by the Mish and the Zusa.

00:13:56 - 00:13:59 | Speaker 4:

She's absolutely worthless for you. Don't call her.
