Mojo in the morning. Thank you for being here. Thanks for listening. Thanks for going and talking to us on whatever, whether it be text call or hitting up our social media search mojo in the morning you can check it out myself mojo along with shannon megan mike kev newest member of the show kp lydia all hanging out here with you uh today a couple of uh things that i'm gonna get into coming up here in just a little bit in trending news. There's some wild stories. I should have mentioned this with the DoorDash topic that I did last hour on the show. But if you're a person that uses DoorDash on an iPhone, you could have money coming to you. Coming up here in just a little bit, they've been overcharging people that use iphones so we'll talk about that in uh in just a few moments um also another story that was you know big this morning shannon reported on it earlier this morning but there was somebody that tried to drive a u-haul truck uh into the uh the fence at the the white house uh and uh they were stopped by secret service but who is that particular person they're going to uh you know get more details as time goes on but um and was this a threat to the president And obviously it was, I mean, running through the fence of the White House, but we'll have more on that in just a little bit. And TikTok being banned in the state of Montana has caused now for a poll to have to happen that says that a majority of people were asked a question about their personal private information and what the shocking response is about their personal private information on TikTok.

00:04:42 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 4:

Isn't TikTok now suing the state of Montana?

00:04:45 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

Yes, that's the story, yeah. Because they're banning TikTok. Megan, you could never live in Montana, not only because of that, but you couldn't live in Montana. I don't know why. But I don't know.

00:05:00 - 00:05:05 | Speaker 1:

state of Montana. I just couldn't see you in a, I think you're more of a city girl.

00:05:06 - 00:05:08 | Speaker 4:

What? What makes you say that? I don't know.

00:05:09 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 1:

I just could not, I couldn't picture that. I don't know if you're the type of person that could live on like one of those farms like the Duttons do

00:05:17 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 4:

in Yellowstone. Remember, my family has like a farm. I don't go for a reason.

00:05:23 - 00:05:27 | Speaker 1:

I thought though that, I thought that that was not something that you were into because you didn't like

00:05:27 - 00:05:40 | Speaker 4:

the idea of having a duty in the outhouse well we don't have an outhouse we bought a port-a-potty which is something you can do so exciting i know wow i didn't i didn't expect that reaction of

00:05:40 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 1:

absolutely nothing no i didn't welcome i didn't i didn't know that uh i didn't know that you're that uh that much of a uh of a rural girl that you've actually absolutely not that would be my

00:05:50 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 3:

dream by the way really yes to have a port-a-potty out in the middle of nowhere no to move to like

00:05:57 - 00:06:02 | Speaker 1:

middle of nowhere montana that would honestly be my dream for a week vacation it's and actually

00:06:02 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

then i'd be probably bored it's great for a week and i will tell you there's nothing more beautiful than being like my land down there or whatever our cottage is that's a generous term it's a hut but our cottage has like the most beautiful view of the stars at night and i would kill to have that view all the time how did you fare with no wi-fi well that part actually is fine for a little bit it sucks when you can't stream anything at night like that sucks but remember I got into that really bad ATV accident and I was an hour from the closest hospital that's when things get scary yeah

00:06:35 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 1:

how could you be Shannon without having Wi-Fi to watch television you can always get Wi-Fi

00:06:41 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 3:

we can't you can't not always no you can listen I don't care about TV I care about my phone

00:06:49 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 1:

can I tell you something I lived in Tucson arizona and i lived in the outskirts of tucson arizona i lived literally like in the middle of of nowhere arizona took me like 45 minutes or so uh to get to the radio station when i worked there and we did not have uh you know very good access to phone cable all the rest of that stuff

00:07:11 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 4:

ask me how much i enjoyed that our neighbors down in kentucky can't use cell phones the closest The cell phone service is 45 minutes away. Not even if they do like a hotspot for Wi-Fi. No, they all have landlines.

00:07:24 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 3:

Really?

00:07:24 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 4:

All of them.

00:07:24 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 1:

I'm telling you, Shannon, you would think it would be great for a vacation.

00:07:27 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 3:

No, I actually do. Like I have actually a friend here in town who just moved to a farm like north of Clarkston. So not in the middle of nowhere. But I am just obsessed with like that would be a dream to me.

00:07:41 - 00:07:47 | Speaker 1:

It really would. They wouldn't have your go walk to the ice cream place thing that you have in your town that you live in.

00:07:47 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 3:

There's no restaurant. Or there's no Starbucks there, by the way. I'm talking about later in life. Ask Wes. I talk about it all the time. I would love to do that. No DoorDash.

00:07:54 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 4:

You know, our grocery store and one restaurant in the town got swept away in a flood. No lie. Yeah.

00:08:00 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 1:

I'm telling you that I think what we need to do then is I think what we need to do is we need to find the most rural place that can listen to the Mojo in the Morning Show and Shannon try to live there for like a weekend and see when she comes back what it's like.

00:08:15 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. I mean, that's why whenever I go to Colorado and we're like, we drive from like town to town and there's nothing in between. But you're going to like bougie Colorado. No, no, no, no. Not when you drive from town to town. There is no bougie-ness. It is. There is nothing. There's like little teeny, teeny, tiny shack town.

00:08:35 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 1:

And you think that that's like fun because you know that you're going to be leaving there in about five seconds.

00:08:40 - 00:08:43 | Speaker 3:

Sure, but one day I think that, I mean, that's like my happy place. I would love to do that.

00:08:43 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 4:

Girl, I showered in a tent.

00:08:45 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. A tent.

00:08:47 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 4:

It's not fun.

00:08:48 - 00:08:48 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:08:49 - 00:09:36 | Speaker 1:

I couldn't do it. I'm admitting it that if I ever come on the air and say one day I want to go live in an area that does not have a Starbucks, now I'm at a point where we finally got a Chick-fil-A. I don't even know if I want to live anywhere without a Chick-fil-A. All right? If I ever say that I want to do that, then I'm telling you, then you know that my meds are off. And then you know you have to contact my family. I should give everybody the emergency contact number to contact Chelsea to make sure that you tell her at that point. If all of a sudden one day, Kev, you're new to the show, right? Oh, yeah. You don't know me that well. One day I come in here and I call you partner. I want you to call my wife. And I want you to tell her there's something off with me. What's going on, Maria?

00:09:37 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 2:

Hi. Hey, I just wanted to make a comment that with the amount of flannels that Megan owns, I feel like she would be just fine in Montana. That's true. Why do I feel attacked? No, it would be so cute. You could be brushing the horses. I could see it.

00:09:56 - 00:10:11 | Speaker 4:

Honestly, you know who my fashion icon is? Chessie from Parent Trap. Oh, my gosh. Yes. Like a little jean tucked in tank top, a little open jacket moment over it. Give me a good boot. Let's go.

00:10:12 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 2:

Actually, I want you to know.

00:10:13 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 4:

Megan, that's so good.

00:10:14 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 2:

I want you to know this, Maria, okay? Let's show you how much Megan would be good at this, and let's talk about the bird that flew into the car. No. All right? No, no. So you know what Megan drives, right? You know what kind of car she drives, Maria?

00:10:32 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah.

00:10:33 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 2:

She drives a what?

00:10:35 - 00:10:37 | Speaker 3:

The Trailblazer truck, right?

00:10:37 - 00:10:42 | Speaker 2:

No, she drives a Jeep Wrangler. She's a Wrangler. She's from Toledo. She's got to be a Wrangler girl.

00:10:42 - 00:10:46 | Speaker 3:

Come on. Right? Stickers on the ceiling. Yeah, exactly.

00:10:46 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 2:

Megan, this just shows you how good Megan would be living in the middle of the country.

00:10:52 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 4:

So there's one thing you need to know about me. It's that I don't think birds are real. they terrify me and they're robots that are run by our government okay especially pigeons yeah birds are machines birds died in the 80s and our government replaced them all with little spy machines and they are not to be trusted and i was running a whole bunch of errands and the weather has been so nice recently that i took the top off my car and i was driving around but I needed to stop for some food. And let me tell you, this demon was perched up on a light post in a parking lot I was in. And I was sitting my entire meal, not listening to music on the radio, not on TikTok, not anything. I was just staring almost directly into the sign at this bird, making sure that it didn't attack me. And this bird got a little cocky. and it dive bombed me trying to get my food and flew in to my car and it was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life and I uh think that all birds should be killed

00:12:02 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 3:

on the spot yeah oh no I have hummingbirds that I feed in my backyard and they're so cute but I did have like a a gang of swallows in front of my place and I would watch as they would dive down and try to attack people walking their dogs. And I sat there watching them with my cat for like four hours one day.

00:12:21 - 00:12:35 | Speaker 2:

I'm telling you, Megan, don't you think we'd be great in the middle of Montana, wouldn't she? If a bird is bothering her, could you imagine what she would do if all of a sudden, like, bear and any other antelope and all those people were around?

00:12:35 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 4:

Here's what you need to know. Birds are scary, and turkeys are terrifying. Turkeys are not afraid of anything, and they will fly at you, and they will attack you. I know this from experience because one of them attacked my Jeep before, and it was horrific, okay? Because turkeys are bigger than you expect, too. When you see them on Thanksgiving, those are dead. Those are plugged. Those are missing a lot of parts, all right? When you see them full wingspan taking on your vehicle like it's nothing, you might crap your pants.

00:13:07 - 00:13:07 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:13:09 - 00:13:29 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, by the way, I agree that Megan would be perfect for... Yeah, I... Yeah. Has anybody else ever been attacked by birds? Has anybody ever had that happen to them where they were attacked?

00:13:30 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 1:

I think, you see, you got to be careful. So I take my son to Belle Isle and we take bread, right? And you go and you feed the ducks and you feed the birds. You're that guy. You're the guy that doesn't listen to the signs that are there. Oh, you're not supposed to. I've never seen them. I don't know. I've never seen them.

00:13:46 - 00:13:46 | Speaker 4:

Heck.

00:13:47 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 1:

But Megan's absolutely correct. Some of these, I don't know, we just might have the good honey wheat bread, but some of these birds, you feed them bread and they just want to take your arm off. I will tell you this.

00:13:55 - 00:14:10 | Speaker 2:

Who with a honey wheat bread? The city birds are also different than the rural birds, too. I've never seen a baby pigeon. A baby pigeon doesn't exist. I think they're born like old-looking and ugly.

00:14:11 - 00:14:22 | Speaker 4:

No, they're not born. They're created and effectized. They're charged up and then they are sent to spy on us. Birds aren't real. They work for the bird washing.

00:14:22 - 00:14:34 | Speaker 2:

I'm telling you, I agree with you on that. I think if all birds went away, if honestly, I mean, it would probably be bad for the environment and stuff, but if they all went away, I probably wouldn't even notice.

00:14:34 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 4:

you know don't you like waking up on a summer morning and hearing the birds i'll have a sound

00:14:38 - 00:14:43 | Speaker 2:

machine i go to bed with a sound machine i'll wake up with a sound machine no i hear them

00:14:43 - 00:14:48 | Speaker 4:

mocking me in the morning get up get out of the house i want to peck your eyes out that's what

00:14:48 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 2:

they're saying i think i'm gonna kill you i think that they i think like megan does in the fact that i feel like birds just want to eat us and that one day that's the demise eyes of all of us what's up uh kelly hi um i'm telling about the bird story um this didn't happen to me but it happened to my husband he was driving with his window down and all of a sudden and a huge amount of feathers started swarming in his car and he looked down and a bird was decapitated he had the head was to his feet and the rest of the bird was in his back window wait

00:15:28 - 00:15:30 | Speaker 1:

It flew with no head?

00:15:31 - 00:15:37 | Speaker 2:

No, it flew into the car. It was decapitated by its seatbelt, and part of it landed at its feet.

00:15:37 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 1:

Oh, oh, oh, oh. Did it continue to still flap its wings?

00:15:41 - 00:15:44 | Speaker 2:

No, I think it was dead on. Okay.

00:15:44 - 00:15:48 | Speaker 1:

Did you look for wires and see if there were wires coming out of the thing?

00:15:49 - 00:15:53 | Speaker 2:

You know, I don't think it was a robot, but it's possible.

00:15:53 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Rachel, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:15:57 - 00:16:18 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, this was pretty embarrassing. But when I was pregnant with my daughter, who is 11 now, I was in the parking lot at the grocery store. And the seagulls, actually, the high-pitchedness of their squeak made me weak. And so I looked down and my whole shirt was wet. Oh, God. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. So I'm always terrified of, like, you know, any kind of loud-pitched bird.

00:16:19 - 00:16:21 | Speaker 1:

Really? It did that to you?

00:16:22 - 00:16:27 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, yep. Your body just kind of attribute. Yeah. I never knew that. Yeah, it makes the baby crying, I guess.

00:16:28 - 00:16:28 | Speaker 1:

Wow.

00:16:29 - 00:16:31 | Speaker 3:

I told my doctor. I was super, like, worried about what was going on.

00:16:32 - 00:16:36 | Speaker 1:

That's pretty wild. Well, thank you for the call. I appreciate that. Derek, what's happening?

00:16:37 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Mojo.

00:16:38 - 00:16:38 | Speaker 1:

Hi.

00:16:39 - 00:16:57 | Speaker 5:

Oh, basically, I live over in Grand Rapids, and basically, we cross over the Grand River. So, driving my work truck, getting on the 131, and a red-tailed hawk hit me and dropped a bass on my boat, or I mean, on my truck.

00:16:57 - 00:17:03 | Speaker 1:

You're kidding me. It went into the lake, got a bass out of the lake, was carrying it in its mouth.

00:17:04 - 00:17:22 | Speaker 5:

It was in its claws. It was coming from the Grand River. I was getting on 131, and I smacked right into them. I mean, all of the dents that are on my truck are caused from birds. I've hit turkeys, sparrows, ducks, geese. Wow. They have it out for me.

00:17:23 - 00:17:36 | Speaker 1:

And, again, this is off of Grand River? Like, whereabouts in Grand Rapids? Uh, 131 and, like, 96. And there's just wild birds and animals just, you know, flying and running around.

00:17:37 - 00:17:44 | Speaker 5:

Oh, yeah, birds. I mean, you're downtown trying to, you know, get downtown and stuff like that, going over the bridge and stuff like that.

00:17:45 - 00:17:45 | Speaker 1:

That's pretty.

00:17:45 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, so pretty much every dent in my truck, it's caused from a bird. I haven't been in any car accidents, but. Not going to load. Birds, yes.

00:17:54 - 00:18:26 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, be careful out there. Yeah. I try to be. Thanks, Derek. Joe, I've heard this from my friend Denise George that geese are the most savage bastards in the world, that if you're, like, on one of these lakes, these, you know, Cass Lake here in our area and stuff like that, that these things will come after you, and they want to tear your eyes out. Is that true? Turn your radio down. You're confused by hearing that beautiful radio voice of mine.

00:18:26 - 00:18:27 | Speaker 4:

Radio's off.

00:18:27 - 00:18:28 | Speaker 1:

Okay.

00:18:28 - 00:18:32 | Speaker 4:

So when I was 22, I was living in Tucson. Shout out to Tucson.

00:18:32 - 00:18:33 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was just talking to him. I lived in Tucson.

00:18:34 - 00:18:40 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, and my friend's mom had a pet goose that she would keep in an enclosure. And we were packing up to go to Rocky Point.

00:18:41 - 00:18:43 | Speaker 1:

That's in Mexico, for those of you.

00:18:43 - 00:19:00 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, Puerto Pinasco. Anyway, so I did not know she had let it out. So I thought it was a dog, you know, coming up behind my leg. So I tried to shoo it away, and it bit me right in the calf. And that thing was so painful. And that damn goose's name was Gonzo. I'll never forget that freaking goose. You guys had a pet goose? Yeah.

00:19:01 - 00:19:12 | Speaker 1:

That's like craziness. I didn't even know that there were geese in Arizona. I didn't think. Right? That was the only one that I knew of. Yeah, because there's no water there for them to survive. They love the water.

00:19:13 - 00:19:15 | Speaker 4:

Right. That's why she always kept it.

00:19:16 - 00:19:20 | Speaker 1:

Dude, did you ever tell these guys about javelinas? They probably don't know about javelinas.

00:19:20 - 00:19:26 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my gosh. Yes, javelinas, man. I would wake up in the morning

00:19:26 - 00:19:35 | Speaker 1:

to go leave to go to the radio station and I would open up my door and there'd be a javelina staring at me the beady eyes. It's a freaking pig. It's like the pig from

00:19:35 - 00:19:38 | Speaker 5:

Lion King. And they're wild? They just run around? Yes.

00:19:40 - 00:19:52 | Speaker 1:

Like squirrels? No. There's squirrels that are my size. They're big. They're fat squirrels. Yes. It's like the Lion King. Look at that picture.

00:19:53 - 00:19:56 | Speaker 2:

He's got teeth. It's like a warthog almost. Thank you for taking my car. I love y'all.

00:19:57 - 00:19:59 | Speaker 1:

Take care of yourself. We appreciate it. My fellow.
