terms and conditions apply. This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say. I would say

00:01:08 - 00:01:53 | Speaker 10:

Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, people in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be there you don't want to be with this program i learned networking a lot we've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds dealing with autocad or need 3d modeling so really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people have been really helpful i don't come from a wealthy family so four years were kind of not out the picture but less probable for me to go to bishop state with my scholarship it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits i would go for a four year ready to

00:02:39 - 00:02:43 | Speaker 9:

We are going to be dyeing hair blue coming up here in a second.

00:02:43 - 00:02:53 | Speaker 6:

Okay, so I just walked over there to see George and Katrina and Kendall and everybody from Six Salon who are here to do this. There is so much blue dye on that table.

00:02:53 - 00:03:03 | Speaker 7:

It's crazy. God, I love those guys. Are you tipped? Look at them. Are you tipped, Shannon? Not one little bit. Come on, for the birthday, get a little streak. No, I am not adventurous with my hair.

00:03:04 - 00:03:08 | Speaker 9:

After this next topic, let's go out and say hi to those guys, okay? So let's do that.

00:03:09 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 6:

It makes me miss my blue hair. Look at, oh, everybody's here. All of our listeners are here.

00:03:13 - 00:03:18 | Speaker 9:

What did you say it makes you miss? My blue hair. You know, it's funny. I don't think I remembered you with blue hair.

00:03:18 - 00:03:22 | Speaker 5:

You met me when I had green hair. I remember the green. Yeah. Green was after the blue.

00:03:22 - 00:03:24 | Speaker 9:

Okay. I like your hair now.

00:03:24 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 5:

I love you as a redhead.

00:03:26 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 9:

Every guy is hot for redheads. That's a fact. There is. I love some of that ginger blood. I know.

00:03:31 - 00:03:40 | Speaker 5:

I love it red because it's fine, but it does feel less like, ah. Stupid red-haired freak. But I really liked my green hair. I'm not going to lie. It looked really hot.

00:03:40 - 00:03:41 | Speaker 6:

Your green hair was cool.

00:03:41 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 9:

Bring it back for St. Patrick's Day.

00:03:43 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 5:

Ooh.

00:03:45 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 9:

All right. It's Mojo on the morning show. Megan had something happen to her yesterday. that when she told this story, I was like, oh, my God, I can totally relate to it. I think you will, too. And it was in the drive-thru?

00:03:57 - 00:04:47 | Speaker 5:

Let me tell you, I don't know what was going through my mind. I don't know how I thought I was going to get away with it. You ever have a moment where you're so stupid, you're like, what was I thinking? How did we get here? I really wanted, I'll be honest, a burger and fries. And I knew that it was not healthy. I've been eating, like, crap the past few weeks. Like, I put on my jeans this morning. And they were tight. And I was like, oh, so I thought, you know what I should do? I should just go get like a kid's meal somewhere, like a tiny little fry and a tiny little cheeseburger. It'll hit the cravings, whatever. That would be great. So I got in a line at this drive through and I just sort of just when I ordered this kid's meal, the most logical thing to do is to ask the child, the imaginary child in my back seat, what they wanted. Do you want fries or apples?

00:04:47 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 8:

what drink do you want

00:04:50 - 00:05:28 | Speaker 5:

what kind of dipping sauce like I don't like you know what I mean like just answer all the questions and then I thought you are such a dumbass yes because you're gonna pull up to the window and they're gonna see there's nobody in the back seat so i thought abort abort mission abort and i tried to pull out of this line and it had one of those curbs the entire way through the drive-thru that you can't pull out of so i i literally pulled up to the window and i wanted to like put my seat all the way back and just lay down and hand my card i'm sorry we all know what's happening here i don't know why i chose to do this i got caught do you think that the people

00:05:28 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 1:

that work at the McDonald's there now think that you're like, you know, crazy or something like that? Psychotic. You're seeing things?

00:05:35 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 3:

Psychotic. I'll tell you something. You have to have no shit. I order kids meals all the time and they are for me. No, I know. Even in person at restaurants sometimes, I will ask, is it okay if I just get the kids version of this? Because I know, like I am not going to eat the whole dang thing. Yeah. I know it. They can't tell you no, right? They can tell you no. They can? They can. I'll be honest with you. I have never been told no, but it does say on some menus, It's like four children, 12 and under, please. But the waitress doesn't care.

00:06:00 - 00:06:12 | Speaker 1:

So can I tell you my version of what just happened to Megan? Because I have to be quite honest with you. I feel like Megan and I relate to food so much because we both, you know, that's kind of our comfort, right?

00:06:12 - 00:06:14 | Speaker 5:

Oh, it's my addiction.

00:06:14 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 1:

So, okay. So here's mine. I go to a drive-thru. And if I have one of those moments where I really want to just go at it, I will order a secondary drink so that they don't think that I'm eating. all that stuff myself.

00:06:28 - 00:06:42 | Speaker 5:

There's nothing worse than ordering from a Chinese restaurant and then you see how many sets of chopsticks they put in there and how many four-chip cookies and you're like, sure. Yeah. That's exactly the right number.

00:06:43 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 1:

844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548 Do you relate to this? And I'm going to say this to you. I do think that kids meals are great but I've got to order like three of them. Three kids meals sometimes is perfect enough for me yeah but i can't do one kid's meal one kid's meal is not enough it's only at mcdonald's

00:07:03 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 3:

that i have a that i have trouble with the kids meal and i love my mcdonald's this this is only a knock at the six fries that come with the kids but that's what i wanted but then i'm just depressed

00:07:14 - 00:07:25 | Speaker 1:

and disappointed after i'm done i i feel like i have to say thanks obama because michelle obama made everybody healthy and i hated it but like all the other fast food kids meals have a good

00:07:25 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 3:

amount of fries you get a small fry but the mcdonald's ones it is truly it's like the apple slices and then six french fries in that little teeny tiny pouch come on man y'all ever go to

00:07:35 - 00:07:44 | Speaker 1:

mcdonald's and ask for fresh fries uh you know what no but they i've had it i love when they say pull up to that window we're just making new fries because you know you're gonna get fries

00:07:44 - 00:07:48 | Speaker 5:

that are gonna burn the freaking roof in your mouth if you ask for fresh fries at a fast food

00:07:48 - 00:07:54 | Speaker 2:

restaurant you're you are the a-hole wait you're talking about my mama no my mama will not go to

00:07:54 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 1:

mcdonald's and not ask for fresh fries i think fresh fries are a must too i like when they're hot uh stephanie what's going on it's mojo in the morning hi hey first time long time

00:08:04 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 5:

megan you could have just been on the phone but could i have yeah i did i well here's where i'm stupid i did the whole turn your body away from the speaker I'm talking to somebody in the back so you know the volume from, yeah, I'd like to place an order for a kid's meal. Hey, do you want this or that? Okay, cool. A Sprite? Or do we want a Sprite? A Sprite? Stop slapping your brother.

00:08:37 - 00:08:38 | Speaker 4:

It's so good.

00:08:42 - 00:08:44 | Speaker 1:

Appreciate you listening, Stephanie. Take care of yourself.

00:08:44 - 00:08:50 | Speaker 3:

You have to do a put down the iPad and listen to me. That makes it very legit. Hold on.

00:08:50 - 00:08:53 | Speaker 1:

Tania has a great point on this one. What's up, Tania?

00:08:56 - 00:08:56 | Speaker 3:

Tanya?

00:08:57 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 1:

Oh, my God. I'm sorry, Tanya. He gets very fancy with the names. It's spelled up there T-A-N-I-A. Is that how you spell Tanya?

00:09:05 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 4:

That's how you spell Tanya's name. That's one way, I guess, but that's how I spell it. I thought Tanya was T-A-N-I-A. He's trying to be fair.

00:09:15 - 00:09:17 | Speaker 1:

What's going on, T?

00:09:19 - 00:09:32 | Speaker 4:

Okay, well, Megan, honey, I'm so sorry, but you didn't just voice that to them. Most drive-thrus at fast food restaurants have cameras on them. Yeah, thanks. So they watched you do that, too.

00:09:33 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 5:

I know they did. I didn't want to bring that up. It made me feel even stupider. So thanks a lot. Did you call it Tanya? Thanks a lot, Tanya.

00:09:45 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 1:

What's going on, Rosie? Hi, it's Mojo in the Morning.

00:09:49 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 3:

Hi, I'm one of those that always gets the kids' meals, but I also look for the restaurants where the kids eat free. So then I just order extra for my kids, and then I eat their food.

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Unknown:

Oh, yeah.

00:10:00 - 00:10:01 | Speaker 7:

And I only pay for drinks.

00:10:01 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 11:

Like, what's a restaurant like that that does kids eat free?

00:10:05 - 00:10:13 | Speaker 7:

I think, like, Denny's does every Tuesday and Saturday. So as long as you order something for yourself, make it look like you're eating, and then just order extra kids food.

00:10:13 - 00:10:17 | Speaker 11:

Yeah. Who's got the best kids meals out of any of the, like, fast food restaurants?

00:10:17 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 8:

Like, fast food? Yeah. Oh, I would say, oh, I don't know. Culver's. I was going to say the same thing.

00:10:25 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 11:

That's a good one.

00:10:25 - 00:10:28 | Speaker 8:

You get the big-sized meal for the kid price.

00:10:28 - 00:10:33 | Speaker 11:

Yeah. They're good people. over there yeah thank you for the call carmen what's going on it's mojo in the morning hi

00:10:33 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 9:

00:10:53 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 11:

00:11:26 - 00:11:38 | Speaker 3:

but then you get the ketchup and the salt oh they give it to you on the side so you put it on yourself okay okay okay okay i'll have to let her know she is watching her salt these days so this

00:11:38 - 00:12:00 | Speaker 11:

might be perfect for her all right so fries no salt get you fresh fries every time because then they they're gonna look out for you appreciate you know okay and how do we know this just from experience or did you work there or whatever my brother was a manager oh okay all right very cool and they still got the romaine lettuce they have romaine oh i don't know from the mcdlt or whatever

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:13:40 - 00:14:23 | Speaker 2:

My name is Natarika Terry LaMille and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school. But Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection. That I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and

00:14:23 - 00:14:35 | Speaker 5:

show them that they're here to help us. Ready to make your own Bishop Statement? Visit bishop.edu today and start building your tomorrow at Bishop State Community College. Burgers, dogs, backyard
