So this past weekend, I was trying to go out and meet up with somebody and I ended up at the wrong bar. Now, I was really annoyed because I was all dressed up and ready to go. So when I walked into this bar, the bartender was like, oh, sit down, I'll buy you a drink. And at this point, I'm like, well, I put in all this effort. I'll take it for a drink. Sure. Why not? And I sat down, started drinking my drink. All of a sudden, the bartender goes around the bar, sits down next to me.

Oh, God.

Turns his chair around. So like I'm facing towards the bar. He's facing away from the bar, but we're sitting directly next to each other. So he's looking me like right in the face. And then he keeps like touching my arm, asking me where I lived, trying to follow me on social media, asked me out on a date. And I had said no over and over and over again to the point where I left the bar before I even finished the drink. I just went, thanks. And I stood up and I walked out the door. He was so uncomfortable. It wasn't funny.

Have you heard from him since then? Yeah. Since he knows your social media?

Yeah. Yeah. Multiple times, multiple times, and I'm very uncomfortable, and I'm like, please leave me alone. The zero responses should be all of the response you need before I block you. Yeah.

So wait, so let's go back. So you go to the bar. You were supposed to meet somebody else? Correct. You're looking amazing. Okay. You sit at the bar, and he immediately comes over and starts to hit on you. That's what it sounds like.

Yeah. I walked in. I said, is so-and-so here? He said, no, but let me buy you a drink.

and comes around the bar and sits next to you. Yeah. Is this the thing that happens?

I mean, didn't he have other people that he was serving? Right, that's what I'm trying to do. That is my question.

Yes, and he was the only bartender. He ignored them? Yes. It was so weird. It was so uncomfortable.

Yeah. Remind me not to go to that bar because I'll never get my drink.

It was like people had walked up to the bar and were standing there waiting for a drink and he had his back to them. talking to me stroking my arm oh yeah i would not be going back there i hope you don't so uncomfortable so uncomfortable but like i didn't understand why he just like didn't get the hint

at what point do you have to be like go away yeah i wonder as a as a woman when you go out to bars how weird it is especially when you run into situations where you meet a guy and it's just uncomfortable for one because you're alone you don't have anybody that's near you

Right. And honestly, usually it's the bartender I trust to make my drink. But when you act this way, I all of a sudden felt very uncomfortable with the drink you made me. So like, I didn't want to finish. I just wanted to go home. Yeah. It was crazy.

Oh, God. I mean, I always have a really hard time if it if we're going to a bar and it's a crowded bar. I'm five feet tall. So if I'm not ponied right up to the bar, I have to do the jump up and down with my credit card in the air to get somebody to get a bartender to notice me. And so when I was living in Atlanta, and this is years right before I moved back home to Detroit, there was a bartender at this place called the Twisted Taco. And he finally realized what was happening. It was our favorite place to hang out on the weekends. And so he was like, here's the deal. Give me your phone number. You guys always sit in the table over there in the corner. Whenever you need something, just text me. I'll bring it out to you and I'll put it on your tab. I'm like, this is amazing. Until he started sending me selfies of him and his dog. and then it's like the lines crossed there and now I can't go back to my favorite place

let's go to Allie Allie what's up hi um so I work at a bar in Royal Oak and I was chewing a piece of gum one day on my shift and one of the customers had asked me for a piece of gum and I was like yeah I'll go to the back I'll get you one and he was like no that's fine I'll just take the piece And I was like, the piece that's in my mouth, and then he took the piece of gum out of my mouth and put it in his face. No, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait.

You let him take it out of your mouth? I didn't believe he was going to do it.

So did you open your mouth, or did he just put his fingers in it?

I pulled it out. I pulled it out. Okay. All right.

That makes me feel a little better about this situation.

I thought he put his grubby little pun in your mouth. Allie, I'm not mad. I'm mad at you. He called your bluff. You took the gum out.

I wanted to see if he would do it.

And he did. And he did. We got S, voice disguise, wants to throw something in the hat. S, what's going on? S, you there?

Oh, hi. I was living in a very nice area and working a lot. So on the weekends, I would go to the same place, very nice restaurant, bar. But I would stay at the bar just so I could chat with the bartenders and watch TV. But the person way over served was rubbing, started rubbing his nasty foot on my leg. What do you? I was stroking my arm, and I, but the bartenders who knew me took care of him and escorted him right out of the restaurant.

Was he barefoot?

I think sometimes it's the bartenders that need to be called out when they're creepy, but these were excellent people.

Did he ever come back? Like, did you ever run into Footsie Guy?

Oh, no. And I had been there before, but I think they were never going to serve him again.

Yeah. Yeah. Well, flip-flops. I was living in a state where you could wear flip-flops.

That is nasty.

I'm just trying to be a little bit discreet.

I feel like that's even worse. That's a dirty shoe and a dirty foot.

So I, okay, so I don't have a bar story. But I went to University of Toledo to get my degree. And during one of the games, my fiancé, well, my boyfriend at the time, now my fiancé, we went to the game. We went inside the game to watch the game. Well, my friends were at the tailgating parking lot. So after the game, we went back to the parking lot. And as I was trying to find my friends to pick them up to take them home, one of the frat guys was trying to flirt with me and take me home back to his place in front of my boyfriend.

Oh, that's really lovely. What a dummy.

Yeah, he was not impressed, and my boyfriend kind of sat there. I mean, he's very introverted, so he definitely, like, didn't know what to say. But once he got in the car, he was like, why did he not see me there? And I was like, I don't know.

why does it feel like your boyfriend at some point would just watch you get abducted and

just be like oh man tough you know in a situation like that he might but then again like he is very caring um so he might do his letter flight because he was a lifeguard at well back when he was in

college so he might i'm sorry wait wait hold on hold on i know that we were about to hang up on What does him having to be a lifeguard have anything to do with this?

Well, like his fight or flight kicking in when there's like an emergency situation.

I have never in the history of mankind heard somebody talk about their fight or flight reflexes and be like, well, I was a lifeguard, so I got it together.
