My name is Metarica Terry LaMille, and my major is general education. Some of the obstacles I have overcame at Bishop State is proving that I can show up consistently, even when my life was heavy. There are moments where I still feel overwhelmed by balancing work, leadership, parenting, and school, but Bishop reminded me that I'm capable of growth and not perfection, that I'm supported as long as I'm committed to being a better person than I was yesterday. My peers can depend on me. I'm there being poured into, but some of those students don't know that the faculty and staff are really there for them. So when they don't know that, I'm their resource that explain and show them that they're here to help us.

All right, it's Mojo in the morning show. I knew this was going to happen. I said it to myself. I didn't say it out loud because I would never say it because you would have killed me. But I knew it was going to happen. And Megan has just been surpassed by her dad's girlfriend's kids.

Listen, I'm not shocked either. I'm not even going to pretend to be, like, shocked. I just didn't need it confirmed. You know what I mean? Like, I knew my dad and his Samoge and aunt girlfriend were going on vacation. And I was really excited for them. But we were talking about it, was it yesterday or the night before? It was the night before. Like, when are you leaving? Where are you going? Because we thought he was going to Hawaii or Mexico. Turns out he's going to Florida. I don't know how I missed the mark on that one so far, but I was shocked.

Geography is a little odd here.

Well, I don't think he's ever vacationed to Florida before. He loves Hawaii. He loves Hawaii. I thought he was taking his smoking hot girlfriend to paradise. Turns out, Florida. And we were actually making fun of him for it because, you know, Florida. And we were like, why wouldn't you take her somewhere nicer? We thought you liked her. I know. Wait, I'm going to Florida next week. I'm really excited. I said what I said. I said what I said. Why do you not like Florida? Because it's Florida versus Hawaii.

Well, Hawaii is like way on. It's all over. It's like you got to take almost a 10-hour flight.

Listen, that was his argument was I'm not wasting two days of my vacation getting there and back, which is a very fair argument. You can get to Florida in a couple of hours. It takes an entire day to get to Hawaii. I'll give you that. Can I get my story out? It's not about that. Go ahead. It's about me crapping up Florida because then it turns out he didn't actually plan this vacation. uh because he's going not with his children no he's going with his girlfriend's children and we were not invited yeah correct response shannon that gasp was correct how his girlfriend has two kids yes and how old are they like my or my brother's age we're all the same age they're all duplicates by the way love her daughters love her daughters we spend time together and they're amazing so i get why i'm being replaced right you were not asked at all to go on this trip no and i'm dying right i'm giving him so much crap about this i'm like oh is this where my inherent like can i get the sad violins please this is where my inheritance is going it's finally happening you're replacing us like have you already written us out of the will all this other things well it Turns out, my dad's not the bad guy here, is me, because apparently these kids play on the vacation. But then, he was like, when did you ask me to go on vacation? Oh, so they're taking their mom and your dad. Yeah, turns out I'm the bad guy.

Okay. Who knew? Well, you know what? You definitely are getting replaced, because I'll be quite honest with you, that is such a nice thing for them to do.

It's an incredibly nice thing to do.

And I'm a terrible daughter. Again, shot, gas, ma, nobody surprised.

Oh, well, well, well. I'll be honest with you. If I am your dad, oh, matter of fact, I don't need to be your dad. Your dad is right here.

Oh, perfect.

If I'm your dad, I will forever be grateful of these two wonderful girls. These are the daughters you should have had, Scott.

Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. I'm not really thrilled with my kids to begin with, but this is so reinforcing. Oh, my God. You know what you need to do?

I feel bad. When you're in Florida, you need to take the matching family photos with the white T-shirts and the jeans on the beach. And that's the photo you need to blow up for that beautiful living room overlooking the city.

It needs to be the four of you. I would die. I would die. This man doesn't have one photo of me in his house. And if he has a family photo with her kids, I'll pee myself.

Scott. We could take Santa Claus hats and take a picture on the beach, and that could be my Christmas time. Oh, my God.

That's great. So, Scott, what is the occasion that these wonderful girls are just, they just said, hey, we want to make sure that we take you guys away, huh?

Yeah, they do an annual family vacation, and they invited you to join them. So I'm going to say. I look at my kids. Never happened.

Yeah.

This is pretty crazy. You know, I have to be quite honest with you. They sound like wonderful young ladies. They are. They really are.

Yeah. They are. So, you know, you've messed up with your kids, right? You look at Joe and you think, oh, I could have done this. I could have done that. Sure. And I'm kind of living in that moment, looking at my kids going, geez, did I mess up? And now the bar is getting raised. And now I think, wow, I was a complete failure as a father. And you know Megan. Her brother's done a lot better. I mean. And he's the good one.

You know what I hope is I hope this gives them an idea. Like, I hope that, you know, Megan and her brother look at this and say, you know what? We better do something because if we don't.

Step up the game. Here's the thing. Dad. Yeah.

It's kind of lame, though. I mean, you're kind of lame at that point. I have to recover.

Douchebag. I will book us a full vacation if you give me all of your account logins for your hotel and frequent flyer mile points.

Scott, do you think that you will be mindful of not trying to talk about, are you worried? Because obviously it's tongue-in-cheek, Megan, with this. But it could be something that could be set over the edge if all of a sudden you come back with the nicest tan ever and you say that was the greatest vacation you've ever had.

Again, the bar's low because I've traveled with my kids for years.

I was going to say, I don't think we've ever had a good family vacation.

Yes, we just found out about this together, and we lost our minds because we already feel like the redheaded stepchildren of our own family. and then for it to be so just confirmed and acknowledge that we are in fact as disrespected

Allen Lee. My major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great. You know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits, so I think that made me choose drafting and design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. They want to see me be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be and I really appreciate all of them. With my degree as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department and I've already got a job shadow before and hopefully I will end the ship over the summer.
