Good morning and welcome to the Mojo in the Morning Show. So, just when I thought we're at full strength, Kev is out today. So, Kev is actually celebrating an extended birthday. He talked about that on Fridays in Colorado.

I know. So, he must be high. High as a freaking kite. He will be back, though, this week. Megan is back this morning. Whoa! What is going on? Where have you been, Megan, my whole life?

In bed.

Yeah, you were, this is the thing that was tough for you because you were so sick the week prior to last. Actually, this is a weird thing. So Shannon and I were off, then you were here riding solo with, or actually riding with Kev. Yeah. And then the following week, you were just out. I mean, it was not good. You tried to come back one day, and honestly, it probably wasn't the best thing for you.

I shouldn't have, but I was trying to prove that I was trying my hardest to be.

Yeah. Yeah, well, you know, and then your cold and everything went to laryngitis. You lost your voice.

Oh, it was so bad.

And so then you had a week off, so you had a week's vacation, which is really wild because I remember one time in my life at school, when I was in school, I think I had chicken pox. It went from chicken pox to we went on Easter break, and I had two weeks of not being in school. I swear to God, I forgot how to go to school.

And I was off, but I was still very sick. The whole time Yeah it was not Everybody was like oh it looks like she's having a blast On social media I was like I can't breathe And I can't stop coughing

and I feel like I'm dying.

Well, you sound better, although I did hear you sneeze a couple of times too, so you got a little bit of a linger, huh?

And I am right in the line of fire of these sneezes.

And blame Kev, by the way, because Kev was the one who came in with a sinus infection for two weeks straight, coughing, hacking, sneezing in the studio, gave it to me. So I fully blame him. But I also...

He is the, what is it, the pangolin that started COVID or whatever they said. Patient zero. Yeah.

Should I come back with something very controversial? Should I get people mad right as I come back? No.

Sure. Why not? What the hell?

Why not? This is why parents are the worst. Because your kids are Petri dishes at school, which I think we can all acknowledge. They get everything. And I feel so bad for you. But then you get sick and you go to work. And all of us who avoid all of the childhood germs are just then susceptible to everything going back around in the school. Yeah. I hate children.

But who's the kid that got you sick? Kev?

yes because i'm sure i'm sure josiah brought something back from the petri dish school we all came back from spring break in that midwinter break and i'm sure he brought it in here and then i i can't avoid it it was the plague i think i had the plague yeah um but during it not only can i blame kev for getting me sick which i have no evidence for but it was probably opening day where i hugged a million and a half listeners um but we'll blame kev because he's not here uh but then i blame my dad for making me a new drug addict and this one is legal but i am fully addicted like housewives were in the late 90s early 2000s to afrin the new millennial afrin

is now vick's vapo sticks vick's vapo sticks oh my god that is a blast from the past my grandma

used to have those in her purse all the time my dad when i was sick came to me he was like these are gonna change your life and i cannot stop shoving that stick up my nose i am fully addicted I'm a fiend. So what does it do?

It just clears you out? Yes.

I have been on antibiotics, steroids, another round of antibiotics and steroids because that's how sick I was. It wasn't clearing up. So I had to go back to the doctor. Then it turned into home remedies because nothing was working at that point. And my dad, like a little witch came in and he was like, let me give you this fixed Vapos dick. It'll change your life. I can't get rid of it. I'm fully addicted. That thing is up my nose 24-7.

So what do you do? You just sit there, stick it up your nose and then you walk around with it or do you just got to go for like a call? Is it, I don't know, Afrin, you had to breathe it in and push the thing and it would push.

But Afrin, they tell you, you're only supposed to do Afrin for like, cause Dr. Werner prescribed it to me when I was really sick sometime. And he said, um, after like three or four days, you have to stop it. No more cold turkey because it's so addicting. Yes.

Is Vic's vape blistering the same? I guarantee you there's gotta be something to it.

Let me tell you.

What does it do? Next thing, cocaine?

I feel like I'm taking bumps in the bathroom. Like, I feel like I'm sneaking away, and I'm hiding it. Yes, and I'm constantly, like, got to get my hit.

And after you do it, is it like Afrin, where all of a sudden you're like, oh, I can breathe.

I think it's more like cocaine. I feel alive.

Oh, you, like, started, like, hey, what's going on, guys? Let's go clean our house.

I'm like, I can breathe. I have higher oxygen levels. I am unstoppable.

not sleep and i know that benadryl makes me super super sleepy so i was taking benadryl at night to try to go to bed i would take it at like six o'clock by 7 30 i was so drowsy i and i would

sleep until my alarm went off at 3 45 you and megan are the reason why things are locked behind

the counter at cvs and i get mad every time i have to get something for the kids and i'm like

I'm going to say this to you cause it was opening day for the mud hens that you got sick yeah you missed the coldest broadcast that we have ever done we did we talked about it last week on monday but it was legit at comerica park

it was like 30 degrees we were dying i called you the day before a tiger's opening day i was like i'm so sorry and then i called no i didn't call i was texting shannon afterwards and she was like we all wish we were you. We all wish that we were sick.

My toes still have not thought. I swear I am still cold all the time because of that morning, because of that broadcast.

And there's like a thing called Afrin Rebound where when you use it, that's why Shannon was saying that they say not to use it for too long because once you stop using it, you can get more clogged up and more sick after you stop using it than before you start it. Oh, that's wild. It's called an Afrin Rebound effect. Yeah. So just a little heads up. It has a name.

So it goes the opposite way, where you become, like, addicted to the thing or something, huh?

Yeah. Or not addicted, but, yeah, it kind of brings back.

I guess that's the thing. It's not really curing anything. It's just cleaning you out for a little bit. It's like Drano for your sink. You got to get down there and get that stuff out. Thank you for the call, Lise. What's up, Emily? Hi.

Nothing. I just wanted to say to Shannon's Benadryl, when I was giving birth, after I gave birth, I had a C-section and was having issues with sleeping. And they actually shot Benadryl through my IV. And within 30 to 45 seconds, I was in la-la land and had the best sleep ever. Isn't it crazy?

I mean, I have allergies. So that was what I always took before I, like, you know, got the good prescription stuff to help my symptoms. But it always made me so tired. So it worked, unfortunately.

It does work, and I can see why people take it.

Yeah. My favorite are the people that give it to their babies, like when they're going on airplanes. They're going on an airplane. Yeah.

Sometimes, though, that can do the opposite effect. Yes, it can. Sometimes it can make them hyper.

My favorite is when you look at the kid, and he's like, I'm all strung out.

It's like their parents gave them melatonin gummies and Benadryl.

That kid is true. Back to back. But I'm happy. I don't care. I sit next to that kid. He's not making a noise. What's up, Michelle?

The good stuff. People who use essential oils as medicine, I assume you have a crystal in your bra, too.
