It's Mojo in the Morning. We were laughing with Megan just a second ago as she was telling us a story off the air that I'm going to have her tell on the air about her brother and his new fashion gear. No, his new obsession that he's doing that Megan thinks is extremely dangerous.

00:01:53 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 2:

So my brother is in a weight loss challenge, and if you know my brother, it's a little shocking that he's in a weight loss challenge, okay, because he's a very fit man. And this is all part of New Year. I asked him why he was doing this, and he said, you know, there's, like, a lot of money on the line. And I only thought this was, like, maybe five, six people participating in this challenge. Apparently, there's like 30 or 40 people in it, and the grand prize is like close to $3,000.

00:02:24 - 00:02:29 | Speaker 3:

Oh, my God. Did you say it's through his work or Jim? Did I miss that? Just friends. Oh, friends. Okay. Yeah.

00:02:29 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 4:

How come when we did our weight loss challenge, what was ours? 20 bucks that you had to throw in like each time you screwed up something or something like that?

00:02:39 - 00:03:54 | Speaker 2:

So, their buy-in was high. So, like the minimum that they'll win if nobody messes up is like over $2,000. But with mess up and fines that they deal throughout the challenge, it starts to climb quickly because there's so many people a part of it. So, like, everybody kind of stays on top of everything for the first week and then apparently it just goes downhill and the prize just skyrockets. So, my brother didn't know how he was going to win this because, you know, he's a fit man who runs six miles a day, but whatever. and he decided that he was going to go out and become the best housewife from 1988 that he possibly could and got himself ankle weights. But not just like two or five pound ankle weights because he texted me and he's like, I don't understand why these are so hard to find. I'm looking for 10 pound ankle weights. Wow. Not 10 pound total. That man is walking around with 20 pounds of weight on his ankles. Dude, he's going to ruin his joints. That's what I said. He was like, they were really difficult to find. And I was like, yeah, because they're not good. They're so not good. He wears them everywhere. We went to Lowe's yesterday. He was walking around Lowe's with his little ankle weights on.

00:03:54 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 3:

He looks ridiculous. Wait, so under the pants or over the pants?

00:03:57 - 00:03:59 | Speaker 2:

Over, baby. Over.

00:04:00 - 00:04:02 | Speaker 4:

Wow. He is dedicated.

00:04:03 - 00:04:05 | Speaker 2:

Great sweatsuit and ankle weights.

00:04:05 - 00:04:15 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. So our ankle weights, it refreshed me. I remember when that was a thing. where people would wear ankle weights when they were working out and stuff like that. Yeah. But will ankle weights help you lose weight?

00:04:17 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 1:

I mean... I don't know.

00:04:18 - 00:04:18 | Speaker 4:

Or just make your calves stronger.

00:04:18 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 1:

I just heard they're not good for you if they're over like a pound or two. They're not great for you.

00:04:25 - 00:04:29 | Speaker 4:

Wow. And he wears them all the time?

00:04:30 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 2:

Bro, he took a nap yesterday and fell asleep in them.

00:04:35 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 1:

Are his the ones with the big Velcro straps that you have to... Or are they the ones that just go on like,

00:04:40 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 2:

No, no, no, no, they're like full, somebody twisted their ankle, like Velcro, there's metal hooks in them. Oh my god, yeah.

00:04:50 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 4:

What does he do, what does he do like when he, like has to drive in a car and stuff, doesn't that affect him at all?

00:04:58 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 2:

I don't know if he's driving around.

00:05:00 - 00:05:06 | Speaker 8:

in them but if he is that's so dangerous yeah i can't i can't imagine and he's got a girlfriend

00:05:06 - 00:05:12 | Speaker 4:

too so i'm assuming that you know this is not the most romantic thing to be wearing oh they go to

00:05:12 - 00:05:17 | Speaker 8:

the gym together they're like living their little best life it's gross i hate it do they have

00:05:17 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 5:

matching queen no i think she was reasonable could you imagine if he gets in a situation where he has to run he's like in a like somebody's chasing him or like a dog or something dangerous happens and he's trying to run in ankle weights and he just can't move his legs.

00:05:33 - 00:05:45 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, it will make you have to pick up your legs fast. That would actually be funny. We should have somebody chase him. Have somebody hide by his car in the morning as he's going out to work.

00:05:46 - 00:05:49 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, let's put the fear of God in him. Wouldn't that be great?

00:05:49 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 4:

Wow, that is crazy. I'm always interested with these. This is the time where everybody's doing their resolutions, but there's also a lot of people that do the office challenges. And I think $3,000 might be the biggest I've ever heard of an office challenge. I'd do this. I would sew my mouth shut for a month to win an office challenge of $3,000. That's like life-changing money right there.

00:06:16 - 00:06:28 | Speaker 8:

Literally. But, like, it's a long time. This isn't like a three-week competition. It's either two or three months. I think it's three months. I would never commit to that for three months. No matter how much money was on the line.

00:06:28 - 00:06:34 | Speaker 4:

How long did we do ours, though? We did ours last year, last spring, for a good period of time.

00:06:34 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 8:

I think it was about that same time. And how much did I bitch?

00:06:38 - 00:06:38 | Speaker 4:

It was the worst.

00:06:39 - 00:06:43 | Speaker 8:

It was the worst. I hated every minute of it. The first week was fun, and then it was miserable.

00:06:43 - 00:06:53 | Speaker 4:

Ours was, looking back on it, was considered to be somewhat of a simple challenge. You just had to do 10,000 steps a day, Monday through Friday, right?

00:06:53 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 8:

Oh, you're talking about that one. You guys did that for a month.

00:06:56 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 4:

No, we did. Okay, it was a month. You guys did it for one month. So 10,000 steps a day, and you cannot have sugar. Anything with sugar.

00:07:02 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 8:

And then a gallon of water a day.

00:07:03 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 4:

And you had to drink a gallon of water a day.

00:07:05 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 8:

And the water was the hardest part.

00:07:07 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 4:

By the way, all three of those things are probably things that our doctors are probably telling us that we should be just doing on a daily basis. This guy's wearing ankle weights around himself.

00:07:14 - 00:07:23 | Speaker 5:

Well, that seems more, like, not the ankle weights. Your guys' challenge seems more reasonable and manageable. Like, him trying to lose weight that he doesn't have to lose. Like, he can't lose any more weight.

00:07:23 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 8:

Exactly, exactly.

00:07:25 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 7:

He's like a fit man.

00:07:26 - 00:07:27 | Speaker 4:

What's up, Karen?

00:07:28 - 00:07:51 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. I just wanted to give the public service announcement that when I was in my 20s, I was being so healthy, and I was walking miles and miles a day, and I was wearing those ankle weights thinking that it was going to help me out. And in the long run, all it did was destroy the arches in my feet because you have so much weight and pressure right there. It's not just your joints, but it's your actual arches will disappear.

00:07:52 - 00:07:58 | Speaker 4:

Oh, my God. Megan, you got to have – will you make a phone call to Sean, Karen, and tell him?

00:07:59 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 7:

Absolutely. You ought to know why.

00:08:01 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 4:

Megan's like, no, I want him to have destroyed arches.

00:08:03 - 00:08:12 | Speaker 8:

Yeah, because it would be funny to make fun of him for being like a flat-footed first version of man. It would be hysterical.

00:08:12 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 4:

By the way, I love this one. Sue, what did you want to say?

00:08:16 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 6:

So I'm just wondering, are they nervous that – is he nervous that people are going to think he's like – out of jail, like those are like tethers.

00:08:26 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 8:

Especially walking around in the matching sweatsuit. It was a look, dude. It was a look. I sent you guys a photo. Did you see it?

00:08:35 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 4:

It was in the email. Oh my gosh.

00:08:39 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 6:

It's hysterical.

00:08:41 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 4:

That's hysterical.

00:08:43 - 00:08:47 | Speaker 6:

I would think having two on, that would be like a serious time.

00:08:47 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. This guy's a real criminal. He's got two of these things on right now um thank you sue i appreciate it all right all right good luck uh megan's brother sean on your weight loss challenge and good luck to anybody that drives in a car with him he's going to end up uh not being able to take his foot off of the uh the gas he's dribbling the ball with

00:09:08 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 3:

everything on the line he's driving down the pitch he's facing price hikes and cuts past him carrier contracts tries to block him oh he leaves him in the dust he's at the edge of the box he Cuts past the nonstop group chat.
