Because I asked that question because I know people who also they would start dating later in life. And they had the spouse that was not involved at all in their kids' lives. And I think that's so weird to me. Like, I don't understand how you can bring someone into your life that's not going to be fully immersed in your kids' lives because why should you have to choose which one you're going to spend time with each night or whatever, you know? Like, I'm totally there in Meg's son's life, but I don't act like I'm replacing his dad. His dad's the most important. I'm there to support, help however I can. Obviously, he's living with us part of the time, so I'm there to help out however possible and however you want me to. But I couldn't imagine Meg bringing me into her life if I wasn't into her son at all. Like, if I couldn't be bothered because it's, oh my gosh, these are the developmental years for him.
