I would say Bishop State's like a home for people. It may not be like a four-year where you have a dorm, you have a roommate, you have a rec center, but it's still a place you can go meet new people, classmates, put them in the hallway, make friends with advisors on all these teachers and everything like that. It's just a place you can feel like yourself and not try to be there you don't want to be. With this program, I learned networking a lot. We've had two dinners with heads of different companies dealing with shipping or even game design builds, dealing with AutoCAD or 3D modeling. So really being able to meet new people or meet heads of new people has been really helpful. I don't come from a wealthy family, so four years were kind of not out the picture, but less probable for me to go to. Bishop State, with my scholarship, it cut my price in half and made it way easier for me to go to school for the same 12 credits I would go for a four-year.

Like she can, you can hear the people that are out partying on the streets sometimes like when the Lions fans are going crazy. But you also said that your apartment is surprisingly quiet on the inside, I guess, huh?

I get more noise from my windows than I do from my walls. It is really quiet. From the windows!

So I was a little bit shocked yesterday when I heard a lot of noise coming from another apartment because it has to be very, very loud in order for that to happen. And I thought, honestly, this might be retaliation. I was, no, not that kind of noise. There must have been some sort of retaliation because, let's be honest, I watched the Lions game pretty loud in my apartment. I was like, oh, maybe they're mad at me. maybe they're playing something really loud to get back and I walk towards my front door because I can only really hear any noise from the hallway when I'm near my front door and I go there and I'm like why are they blaring this music I'd love for you to start playing the clip now because it's very very long and I

want to get to the end of it but I this is what I'm hearing and I realize when I hear the snap oh that's not music being played from the other apartment it's like a rehearsal for a music group

wait wait hold on this is actually live music this is my neighbor that's crazy hold on it gets

crazier right here i hear this in my apartment it's recording no listen because he'll start giving them instructions so i get so into this wait these are people in their singing yes

wait i'm gonna stop you for one second no well i'm gonna come back to it uh so this by the way

the acoustics in this apartment are unbelievable well i went out to the hallway for this i sat in the hallway for like 10 minutes listening to them rehearse until i realized it's probably a little creepy if they open up the door but i'm just kidding i do the same thing it was beautiful. That is amazing.

Every time you're home. Oh, my. literally who are those people i don't know and it's i've been there like a year and a half now and this is the first time i've ever heard it and i got more angry that they probably lost their rehearsal space and somebody said we'll just go back to my place and i'm like could you just rehearse there all the time like don't rent a space i'm not going to give you a noise complaint

let me hang out and just listen i think that but i i do and i agree it's it's wonderful but not the way he says it is wonderful but this is this is where this is where the curmudgeon in me comes into play that wonderful is uh relative based on what you're doing like it's seven o'clock night if I want to take like an early nap or if I am trying to watch a nice movie in my apartment or I am you know trying to just have peace and quiet I don't know if I necessarily want that

it was probably earlier than seven because if I'm being honest I think I was asleep by 7 p.m. last night so this might have been around six but I remember right after this I was like oh it's creepy if they open the door I saw I heard somebody walking towards the door and I ran into my apartment. Um, and I was like, it's, it's creepy that I'm sitting out here. I went to put my laundry away when I was in my bedroom. I couldn't hear them. Like I only heard them because I was

But I was sitting, here's what I will say. The only thing that sucks about my apartment are our doors. That's where the noise comes through is our doors. And I'm very lucky that I have an apartment in the front of my building. So I have a super long hallway from my front door to like my living space. I have to walk down a hallway to get to my area. And so I was just, like, putting my purse or something, my backpack for work by the front door in the morning. That's when I heard it. That's when I went into the hall and I sat next to this apartment door. That's why it's this loud. It wasn't this loud, like, in my living room.

Yeah, you know, I agree. They sound beautiful, but I still will complain because it is too loud.

I mean, I used to work remote, so, like, I would hear it almost all day long. Oh, my God. But now I just hear it, like, on Friday nights, super loud. And I'll open my sliding door because I love it so much.

Wow. I don't know. To me, that would be, if I lived there and I had the marching band playing nonstop, I mean, I would be like, okay, hold on a second. The horn section is a little too loud for me.

Yeah. Yeah, they're super good, though, and they play, like, hit songs.

How does that work? What was their first, the high school or the apartment complex? That's the thing you got to think about, right?

I don't know, but the apartments aren't newer, so.

My name is Patrick Pettway, and I am getting my Associates of Science and General Education with an emphasis in business administration. To me, it was a no-brainer. When you go out here and you're looking for funding to go back to college as a 40-year-old man, I got six people in my household. The extra money just doesn't just grow out of trees.
