All right, it's Mojo in the Morning Show. Megan has a question for us, guys. And what's that question, Megan?

00:01:52 - 00:01:55 | Speaker 7:

Love doing this with an audience in here, by the way. It makes me super comfortable.

00:01:55 - 00:01:57 | Speaker 6:

Do you want them all to leave? I'll ask them all to leave.

00:01:57 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 7:

No, no, no, no. I'm just used to, like, I know we talk to a lot of people, but sometimes when it's just the four of us in a room, it doesn't feel like it. And then when there's an audience, you're like, oh, yeah, people listen to this. I have a question for our guy listeners probably more often on this one than the women. We've got a couple.

00:02:15 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 6:

I've got a few. Look at that guy over there. He's got all guy written all over him. All guy. You're all guy. Say it. Say it loud. Are you all guy? This is sweatshirt.

00:02:24 - 00:02:24 | Speaker 8:

What's up?

00:02:24 - 00:02:28 | Speaker 6:

Are you all guy? I am all guy. All right, guy. Go ahead. Here we go, Megan.

00:02:28 - 00:03:06 | Speaker 7:

I am curious if I should be archiving all of my old photos on Instagram. Because I think sometimes my before photos and my weight loss journeys become a red flag in dating scenarios. And it's becoming very interesting to me how people are deep diving and the comments that you can kind of snidely receive. But this is what happened to my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I have both been through body journeys. and a guy canceled their date before they went out. They met on a dating app because he had deep dived her Instagram and said, you're always capable of getting back there.

00:03:06 - 00:03:07 | Unknown:

Damn.

00:03:07 - 00:03:07 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:03:09 - 00:03:09 | Unknown:

Yeah.

00:03:10 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 8:

First of all, that is a rude thing. No, I know. That's the thing I've ever heard. And also, I'm so happy she didn't go out with him because what a dick.

00:03:15 - 00:03:48 | Speaker 7:

I agree. I agree. But I think he was just bold enough to say it and more guys think it than will say it. You really do? That's crazy. I absolutely do because I exist on the internet where people write this stuff daily and it has an effect on people. Even if you're writing it to a stranger, the people in your lives can see what you have written and it affects them on a daily basis as well. But I, I'm very interested because I think if I archive the photos, it's a red flag, like I'm trying to hide something. And if I don't archive them, it's a red flag. Like people see it as a bad thing. Here, Katrina's in studio with us

00:03:48 - 00:03:56 | Speaker 6:

And Katrina, you just went through a beautiful weight loss journey yourself. You've always been gorgeous, but you're even more gorgeous than ever right now.

00:03:57 - 00:04:09 | Speaker 9:

Yes. Not yes, but I definitely, definitely would say no archiving. We have been through this journey, proud of this journey, love the journey, and it made you who you are today. Do not. I don't.

00:04:10 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 8:

I agree. And also, anybody that actually deserves to be with you would see that and be so proud and recognize that. And their thought process wouldn't be, well, she could go back to that.

00:04:21 - 00:04:24 | Speaker 9:

I truly. And if they're a judgy person, do we want them?

00:04:24 - 00:04:32 | Speaker 7:

No. Anyway? No, I just think the majority of people are that judgy. I truly think it's used against you. And it's seen as a negative.

00:04:33 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 6:

All right, let's ask the guys that question. Guys, your thought. And by the way, 844-MOJO-LIVE is our telephone number on this one. What do you think? If you look at a girl that has lost a bunch of weight because you see some of her pictures from the past, does that make you think, oh, well, that girl is going to potentially be fat again or something?

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 8:

Not at all because if you see somebody for a while,

00:05:00 - 00:05:02 | Speaker 3:

who they are you're gonna move forward just like how they move forward when

00:05:02 - 00:05:42 | Speaker 6:

they lost the way you're gonna move with them so never go backwards always go forward this guy look at this guy and you know what he does not how did that come out of that guy's body I'm looking at that guy he looks like a what do you do for a living in your trucker yeah a construction worker but now I do are you so yeah I'm looking at that guy I'm like that guy's a poet a poet over there It was like, it's beautiful. It was beautiful. And then I saw the ring and I'm like, what, what, what about other guys? What do you think here? KP, let them, let them see your microphone there for one second. Mr. He's got a car hard hand on your guys. Eric, Eric, what do you think about that? Would you, would you deep dive their pictures from the past right into the microphone, please?

00:05:42 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 1:

Uh, no, I think that's not somebody that you want to be with who, uh, if they're going to judge you based upon your looks.

00:05:47 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 6:

All right, let's go to the phones because there's not one, there's not one guy that's in the studio that will uh tell tell the opposite point of view on this one uh i well can i can i say something and i love that you guys say that and that's how i feel too and kevin and maybe it's because also i've had weight issues and so i look at that and go oh my god but kev what do

00:06:09 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 5:

you think i mean i'm not a i'm not an archiver by nature every single photo if you go back to my instagram from the first picture i've ever posted everything on there is what's been posted I've never deleted anything. I'm just a firm believer in this is who I was and what I felt was necessary at the time. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's all a piece of who I am today. And I should be thankful for every journey. I just mentioned Shirelle and I are no longer together. I have no plans on going and deleting any photos of her from my past. I hate when people go. Because that's a part of who I am.

00:06:40 - 00:06:49 | Speaker 6:

I hate when I see people do that. I really do. when people go through breakups or divorces and all of a sudden they act like the last 10 years weren't part of their lives.

00:06:49 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 2:

But I don't know if those are comparable. Why? X's to body transformations. I don't know if those are comparable.

00:06:56 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 5:

Really? The only line that I'm drawing between the two is part of your past. It's a piece of who you are.

00:07:02 - 00:07:07 | Speaker 2:

But I don't think you could judge for getting out of a relationship the way you get judged for the way your body looks.

00:07:07 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 5:

I don't know how that can be viewed as a negative thing if you took a piece to improve yourself. I don't know.

00:07:12 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

that's where my brain is too i i don't think people are going to call in and be honest but i think once you're overweight it's always stigmatized against you that you have this sounds mean and harsh but it's the way that i was treated it's like as a failure like you failed i'm better than you because i didn't do that and i there is a superiority complex to people who have never been overweight before and the judgment there and i i think that sometimes people don't realize that it exists or it's not intentional, but it still exists as like an undercurrent of society. And I think a lot of times when potential daters see that and go, well, you've done it before, I'm not attracted to that. And I know that there's a chance for it to happen again. I'd rather just not deal with it. And I think there's a huge focus on our culture right now in dating and fitness and how their profiles are. I need somebody that goes to the gym all the time. I need this. I need that. I'm working out, I go hiking, I do this. The rock climbing posts have got to stop you guys. You did it one time on vacation four years ago. You're not a rock climber, and I don't want to hear it. But the way that that focus is fitness and looks before anything else is disheartening.

00:08:28 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 5:

I feel like that's just social media in general.

00:08:31 - 00:08:34 | Speaker 6:

Carlos, it is, I believe so, too. Carlos, what's up?

00:08:34 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 4:

Hey, hey, guys. Thank you guys so much. We really got to be careful how we modify our behavior for strangers. You know, when you go down that road, you're going to have strangers shaping your life. Even though you've overcome something, you're still dancing this tune to strangers shaping your life. We just got to be who we are, stand up and own it, and the right people will be the ones to appreciate it. The superficial people, they're the ones we're going to have problems with. We don't care about them. We shouldn't care about what superficial people think.

00:09:07 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 6:

Why give somebody the ability to affect you with a comment that you would never ask for their opinion on anything in general? Like, if a guy makes a comment like that, that's just a person that right there, thank God, showed you who the true side of them was. Craig, what's up? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:09:26 - 00:09:35 | Speaker 3:

Hey, so I'd had weight loss surgery, and then my now wife had had weight loss surgery. And we met through a...

00:09:35 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 6:

Did you guys meet in weight loss surgery class?

00:09:38 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no. I lived in Indiana. She lives there in Michigan. Oh, okay.

00:09:41 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 6:

Because I was going to say, I took one of those classes one time at U of M. And I got to tell you something. Very nice people. I wondered if anybody's ever hooked up because they met in one of those three classes. I thought you were joking.

00:09:50 - 00:09:51 | Speaker 2:

I didn't know that was a thing.

00:09:51 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 6:

You have to do it for your insurance makes you do it if you want to go get a surgery or something like that. Okay, so...

00:09:58 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but the way we...

00:10:00 - 00:10:16 | Speaker 1:

met was there was a singles group for people that had weight loss surgery and i purposely wanted to make sure that i got with you know dated somebody and possibly married somebody that had the surgery because then they know how i have to eat do you guys have your pictures of

00:10:16 - 00:10:23 | Speaker 3:

before your surgery hanging up around your house or on your social media oh yeah i do i do collages

00:10:23 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 1:

of when i you know was heavy and when i lost weight do you do it because it motivates you

00:10:29 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 3:

to continue to keep the weight off yes yeah that's that's interesting um now did you continue did you do that all the way through or because you met somebody because that's megan's talking from the experience of going out and dating she's wondering if she'd take this off because she's dating you know right now and she doesn't know if guys will think of her differently um i found that

00:10:52 - 00:11:04 | Speaker 1:

not that's really not the case um because uh my wife not my now wife we dated for like four and a half years but she was hit on constantly by guys that you know didn't have weight loss

00:11:04 - 00:11:16 | Speaker 3:

okay and nobody ever said anything to her about the fact that she had lost a bunch of weight no by the way you guys must be cheap dates the two of you together having had that surgery

00:11:16 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 1:

you guys all split meals and stuff uh depending on where we go like i don't know if the other and have been to Zender's and Frankenmuth.

00:11:23 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we talked about it yesterday.

00:11:26 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 1:

But we have a card that says you had weight loss surgery, so we just split one, and then we only have to pay for one meal. Wait.

00:11:36 - 00:11:37 | Speaker 6:

Wow. Seriously.

00:11:38 - 00:11:42 | Speaker 3:

That's interesting. Otherwise, they would make you guys both get a meal. That's wild.

00:11:42 - 00:11:45 | Speaker 1:

Right. And it's like I've barely eaten anything.

00:11:46 - 00:11:47 | Speaker 3:

Thank you for the call, buddy. I appreciate you.

00:11:48 - 00:11:49 | Speaker 1:

No problem.

00:11:49 - 00:11:58 | Speaker 3:

Bye. I do think Megan does have a point. There are guys. We see their comments all the time. I don't think any of them are going to have balls enough to call us, but we'll see. What's up, Jesse?

00:12:00 - 00:12:06 | Speaker 5:

Hey, Megan. I just wanted to say that I've been following your weight loss surgery for like the last She didn't have surgery.

00:12:07 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 6:

Well, my bad. I'm so glad I've been following your weight loss journey. Journey, yeah. I'm so freaking proud of you because coming from somebody who's lost 150 pounds myself. Wow. Good job, buddy.

00:12:18 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 5:

That is a big accomplishment.

00:12:18 - 00:12:59 | Speaker 6:

thank you so much but i was going through the exact same thing i was uh i was looking through my old instagram photos trying to figure out how to archive them and i honestly don't think that you should archive your photos because honestly if they're going through your photos and they see where you were then and where you are now that should be a green light to say hey this person had the discipline commitment and overall like amazing ability to make this huge change in their life absolutely not do not archive your photos keep those photos up because that's going to be a great thing for you uh and the person that's going to be going out for you thank you buddy

00:12:59 - 00:13:05 | Speaker 3:

i appreciate it megan getting a little emotional uh listening to some of these callers here you

00:13:05 - 00:13:31 | Speaker 2:

are no i thought you were oh no i'm just listening oh you're just i honestly i i do agree with a lot of what they're saying and i also really disagree with a lot of what they're saying and i think it's interesting because i did ask for men's opinion and i i do want to hear their perspective i'm not dismissing it but it's interesting after hearing them how much i disagree with them from a woman's perspective marcos what's going on hey what's going on guys how you doing

00:13:31 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 4:

i'm doing all right so a bit of a hot take here i was gonna say megan well before i say this i

00:13:39 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 3:

think you're gorgeous and it's awesome and now now here comes the hot take go ahead all right

00:13:45 - 00:14:20 | Speaker 4:

no i would say to rk them and not because i would because me that's a single guy i i'm on the apps right and normally when i see people that were typically big go to like a slimmer i automatically think that since I don't know, they just have typically those people What are you trying to say, bro? No, no, listen, I'm not trying to be an at. No, no. Your phone's breaking up.

00:14:20 - 00:14:21 | Speaker 3:

Speak into the phone.

00:14:23 - 00:14:59 | Speaker 4:

Can you guys hear me? Yes, way better. Say it with your chest. No, I was just saying normally when people are bigger and then they get slimmer they end up becoming a-holes now that they're slimmer oh some of that's true me on the dating apps when i and i know people personally they lose all this weight they look amazing and then all of a sudden they become angry yeah so typically when i see that i'm like ah i just automatically i don't even want to deal with their hangry maybe it's gonna do that no too late

00:15:00 - 00:15:02 | Speaker 8:

I'm just saying. But you know what? I just mouthed to her too.

00:15:04 - 00:15:16 | Speaker 6:

That's actually interesting though because that's more of a red flag to you as a guy is that the girl all of a sudden now is becoming, I don't know, maybe not as happy. That's wild.

00:15:16 - 00:15:23 | Speaker 8:

No, you become much more jaded as a human being when you realize how differently people treat you just based on how your body looks.

00:15:23 - 00:15:24 | Speaker 4:

I can see that.

00:15:24 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 8:

I am so much, it's so funny to me when people are like, you seem so much happier. And I'm like, actually, I'm a lot angrier because I'm exactly the same person that I was before. I actually was in a better place in my life before and y'all treat me better and with more respect now because you like the way that I look. I'm angry.

00:15:40 - 00:15:41 | Speaker 6:

Who did you lose weight for?

00:15:42 - 00:15:43 | Speaker 8:

Me.

00:15:43 - 00:15:44 | Speaker 6:

Are you sure?

00:15:44 - 00:15:46 | Speaker 8:

Absolutely me. Absolutely me.

00:15:46 - 00:15:47 | Speaker 6:

Then it's all that matters.

00:15:47 - 00:15:50 | Speaker 8:

But it's not because that's not how the world works.

00:15:50 - 00:17:26 | Speaker 6:

You worry too much about what other people think and you don't worry about yourself. You need to, you need to first off, A, get the hell off of all these goddamn social media sites and you don't need it for your job because you know what it's doing it's making you pissed on the air and it's hurting your job you need to you need to take care of you and be happy for what you've done I have seen nothing but people when you post something the social engagement people go crazy over you and that is not a lie and when you do this and then you see one comment that's a negative you got to start looking at the positives more than the negatives and start writing the rest of that stuff off you lost weight for yourself not to make yourself look better but to be healthier you want to well you want to be okay well and you know why i didn't care about the health you you lost weight you moved to the big city that you wanted to move to you did all that stuff now you know what start enjoying it and stop looking at the haters you know i'm not as eloquent with my words like kevin is um but i will tell you this i've been wanting to tell you for the longest time, stop making everybody else affect how you feel, make yourself affect how you feel. And it's, and it's time, honestly, that you, you start going, you know what? I got to celebrate this and celebrate it in the ways that you know how to celebrate. You're in a great place. Jesus Christ. I would love to live in a beautiful, you know, uh, apartment and have you know fun uh fun times and stuff like that i think that you got to start enjoying it

00:17:26 - 00:17:32 | Speaker 7:

you're you're an incredible person i am enjoying my life okay well i'm thoroughly enjoying my life

00:17:32 - 00:17:48 | Speaker 6:

then stop letting one or two ass toes treat you like this okay okay look at all these people around you here that all love you group hug all of us come on get in here right now group hug Give a squeeze.

00:17:48 - 00:18:18 | Speaker 5:

This is the Bishop Statement at Bishop State Community College. We want you to hear what our students, educators, and business leaders have to say.

00:19:13 - 00:19:58 | Speaker 3:

Allen Lee, my major is drafting and design. In high school, I did it since my sophomore year, and I kind of wanted to continue it. It was the only thing I was good at. I didn't want to move to a four-year yet. I don't think I was mentally prepared. I found Bishop State. They had the program. I met a few people there. I ended up enrolling. The instructor, first day I met him, I told him about my background. He said, okay, great, you know about this. He built me straight to work. He didn't let me have any leeway. He pushed me to my limits. So I think that made me choose drafting and design at Bishop State and stuck with it. The sport's amazing. All my instructors just want to see me succeed. They want to push me to my limit. see me to be the best I can be, get a job, just be as successful as I can be. And I really appreciate all of them. With my degree, as of right now, my plan is to work for the city of Mobile with their urban planning department. And I've already got a job shadow before. And hopefully I will internship over the summer. If you choose Bishop, we're welcome to have you any day.
