Mojo on the morning show. It's funny. We were talking this morning about decorating for Christmas and we're talking about the holidays coming up and it all stemmed from Megan just saying that she's already preparing for her Thanksgiving. And I was like, oh my God, it just seems too early, but that's just around the corner.

00:02:16 - 00:02:23 | Speaker 7:

I know. And I'm so stressed out about it. It's not even funny. Does anybody want to guess how much time I've already spent planning for Thanksgiving?

00:02:24 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 6:

Well, I know the answer to this because I've seen it. I've seen what you have created on your computer because you sit next to me. And what did I create? A PowerPoint.

00:02:34 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 7:

With all of the different

00:02:35 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 6:

recipes. Did he show this to you? Ingredients. Are you showing this to anybody? How to cook and display things. What pans and tools she needs for each thing. I did not create a PowerPoint like this for college.

00:02:48 - 00:03:14 | Speaker 7:

I'm actually psychotic. This has taken me over six hours to do. It's a full presentation that has a table of contents. A grocery And then all of the recipes that I will be cooking for Thanksgiving. We're doing a brisket this year, in case you're wondering. What is that? That is the cranberry brie crostini that I'm going to be making.

00:03:14 - 00:03:19 | Speaker 8:

What is a brisket, or are you looking at her thing? What she just said, the brie crostini.

00:03:19 - 00:03:20 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. Have you heard of that?

00:03:21 - 00:03:22 | Speaker 8:

I've never, but it sounds delicious.

00:03:22 - 00:03:37 | Speaker 7:

It's very good. It's very, very good. I'm making a little ciabatta stuffing. Mashed potatoes, gravy And coriander sauce Do you have any of that regular stuff? I mean we're doing like roasted veggies

00:03:37 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 8:

Okay, because if I show up to Thanksgiving Are you coming out with creme brulee And roastini and all of that

00:03:43 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 7:

I'm going to be hungry when I leave What, because you don't like good food If it's not Thanksgiving food on Thanksgiving? I'm just saying, we're the macaroni and cheese Oh, we don't do mac and cheese I don't do dairy I don't do dairy

00:03:55 - 00:03:57 | Speaker 6:

I don't do mac and cheese for that. Okay. Do your thing, though.

00:03:57 - 00:04:36 | Speaker 7:

Even though it sounds delicious. Okay, here's my problem with all this. I have so far, without grocery shopping or cooking a single thing, have already spent six hours of my time getting ready for Thanksgiving. Now, to be fair, my favorite holiday of the year is Thanksgiving because there's no expectation of giving or receiving gifts. It's spending time with your loved ones, your cherished people, and it's about food. And football. Love that. Yes, exactly. I absolutely love it. Christmas is up there, but I hate the gift exchange. If Christmas was just spending time with your loved ones, I think I would like it just as much. I love it, too. But I'm so stressed out because the boys are ruining it for me.

00:04:36 - 00:04:37 | Speaker 8:

The boys meaning?

00:04:37 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 7:

My dad and my brother.

00:04:38 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 8:

Oh, jeez.

00:04:38 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 7:

Why? Because these two idiots, and I say that, they're my favorite people on the planet, and I love them more than anything. Idiots will not confirm who is coming, what day works in their schedule, because i know our thanksgiving it never is actually on thanksgiving day we're the kind of family that's like go do it with your significant other's families like we'll just rearrange the day for us it's not a big deal um but they won't confirm what day everybody has available or if my dad's girlfriends kids or siblings are like i have no idea how many people i'm cooking for or what day it's going to be and i just feel like all of this is landing on my shoulders and i don't know if it's because i'm the girl in the family and the only girl in the family but i am stressed you idiot i'm angry they keep going what's the big deal it's three weeks away and i'm like three Two weeks away for four people versus 12 people is very different.

00:05:33 - 00:05:43 | Speaker 1:

Man, by the way, there's a lot of pressure. I see how much pressure it is on my wife when she has to cook for our family and stuff. And we have extended family, it's even worse. Megan, that is a lot to take on.

00:05:44 - 00:05:51 | Speaker 7:

I don't even know how many dishes I need to have. Because I don't know if you guys know this. Party of one over here. I got a set for four people.

00:05:51 - 00:05:54 | Speaker 1:

What do you do in that case? Can you rent dishes from people or do you borrow from Brandy's?

00:05:54 - 00:06:06 | Speaker 6:

Or you get the really, really super nice paper ones. and no, I'm being serious because that helps you so much when it's all over. And you do beautiful table settings but with paper dishes.

00:06:06 - 00:06:15 | Speaker 1:

One of the, as Megan quoted, idiots is on the phone with us right now. Please welcome Megan's dad, Scott Mick, to the show. Hey, tips.

00:06:18 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. How are you guys doing today?

00:06:20 - 00:06:24 | Speaker 1:

Why are you doing this to your daughter? She's trying to put it.

00:06:24 - 00:06:35 | Speaker 4:

How are you doing? You, again, the premise is so faulty here. You work with her, right? You understand. Is there a rational thought in that?

00:06:36 - 00:06:37 | Speaker 1:

I'm not saying it. I got to work with her.

00:06:38 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 4:

You're her dad. You can get away with this. Yeah, no, no. This is all self-applied. She's neurotic, and that's okay. We pat her on the head and tell her she's pretty, and everything's okay.

00:06:50 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I need you in my life more. um scott but she does have she has a powerpoint presentation she has spent so much time on this this dinner are you even thinking of thanksgiving right now or is that like the furthest thing from

00:07:04 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 4:

you i'm actually online looking how i can book a trip that week as we speak oh emergency came up at work sorry gotta let me tell you i facetimed my dad yesterday

00:07:19 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 7:

to show him this presentation and the way he said what is wrong with you was the most disappointing thing i've you he calls me a disappointment all the time as a joke but the way he looked at that and went why would you do this felt like the most disappointing thing i've ever done as a child

00:07:35 - 00:07:45 | Speaker 5:

hey son you're a disappointment to your parents it's a powerpoint but it's on decorated paper So we can't wait It's beautiful

00:07:45 - 00:07:52 | Speaker 7:

It's beautiful It's themed It is themed, sir Scott Scott, this is

00:07:52 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 1:

This is wonderful, though That she really wants to bring everybody together

00:07:56 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 6:

Mojo, look She's not joking She's not joking

00:07:59 - 00:08:01 | Speaker 1:

Oh my God That is very cute, by the way

00:08:01 - 00:08:04 | Speaker 6:

Was that an outfit slide, by the way, that I just saw? Wait a minute

00:08:04 - 00:08:07 | Speaker 1:

She loves Oh my God, she truly does She truly has

00:08:07 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 6:

Okay, Megan Thanksgiving Megan, my friend owns a really big catering company Justin, hi, I know you're listening. He said you can borrow all the stuff you need from his catering company. Oh, my God.

00:08:19 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 1:

What a nice guy. She doesn't know how much, though. She doesn't know how much.

00:08:23 - 00:08:32 | Speaker 5:

But they've got all the things. We have a very small family. We're going to have to borrow people, too. Wait, she said, though. We're going to have to go out and get homeless people.

00:08:32 - 00:09:06 | Speaker 1:

That would be sweet. That would be amazing. By the way, Scott, though, but she does have a point that you do have a significant and you have your significant other has children like she wants to invite everybody she wants to bring the whole families together so this is just like this is just like everybody has a nice time what this is like the very first thanksgiving ever everybody's coming together to celebrate yeah hold on a second uh sarah wants to make a comment here sarah hi what's up

00:09:06 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 2:

Hey, guys. Megan, I just want to tell you, last year, my husband and I hosted Thanksgiving for both of our families. So we had, like, 20 people over. And to your point about the plates and everything, I got them at the dollar store. So they have really cute, like, themed plates. And they're only a dollar. So if you don't want to keep them, spend 20 bucks.

00:09:24 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 1:

Can you get family at the dollar store, too? Amy, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:09:31 - 00:09:46 | Speaker 3:

Hey, good morning. Megan, I love you. I have three kids, 122, one's 19, one's 10. I wish one of them would put some type of effort into help with Thanksgiving dinner because I go all out. I love to do it, and I think you're amazing.

00:09:47 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 1:

Would you like to come? Would you like to go to the Mick Thanksgiving meal?

00:09:54 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

No, why not? I do a big, huge...

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 9:

00:10:24 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 9:

Hi.

00:10:26 - 00:10:34 | Speaker 4:

Hello? Hi, Beth. Hi. I'm just calling to say that you guys need to stop picking on Megan because her PowerPoint idea is fantastic, and I'm going to copy it.

00:10:35 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 11:

Oh, I am bowing down to her for this organization. Let me tell you, not sponsored, would love to be if you're listening, corporate. I did it on Canva. It's very cute. They have tons of Thanksgiving themes, and then you can leave it out on your countertops while you're cooking and your recipes, like I have some from books, but some are digital recipes. And then your screen doesn't go black. It's just amazing.

00:10:56 - 00:11:01 | Speaker 4:

Oh my God. I thought this through, bitch. You're going to revolutionize my life, Megan. Thank you very much. You're welcome.

00:11:02 - 00:11:14 | Speaker 9:

This is, seriously, it's wonderful to see this. It sounds like it's going to be a wonderful meal, but Scott Mick and his lovely son, his favorite child, need to get their act together, right?

00:11:14 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 4:

Keela? We're low maintenance. We don't have this expectation. We'd be okay with crackers.

00:11:21 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 9:

Crackers and cheese. Cheese ball, right?

00:11:25 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, exactly.

00:11:26 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 9:

Wonderful. We'd be happy. We're low maintenance. What's up, Keela?

00:11:30 - 00:11:33 | Speaker 12:

Hey, how are you guys? Happy Friday. Happy Friday.

00:11:33 - 00:11:34 | Speaker 9:

We love it.

00:11:34 - 00:11:40 | Speaker 12:

I just had a question for Megan. Yeah. Hey, girl. How many gummies did it take to make that PowerPoint? More than one.

00:11:41 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 11:

More than one. Let me tell you, I let that first one kick in a little bit, And I went with a five, you know, don't go too far, don't go too fast. And then I went through three different cookbooks, and then I thought, what would satisfy the munchies right now? Where's that slide show at?

00:11:58 - 00:12:04 | Speaker 9:

All I can say is your laugh, Scott, is infectious. It has literally put a smile on my face, because he is just laughing.

00:12:08 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 4:

Oh, God, maybe I could come to your house.

00:12:11 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 9:

Yeah, Scott, you know what we're doing? We're doing Lions game, and we're going out somewhere. So that's our thoughts. All right, join us.
