00:02:10 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 4:

All right, it's Mojo in the Morning Show. You know how Cav always brings the gold to us by talking about how he went to the barber and his barber, what's his name? Bruh, Daryl. Daryl, Daryl the Barber. Daryl the barber gives him some very amazing pieces of advice on relationships. You're going to be single forever if you follow Daryl the barber.

00:02:33 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 5:

Sometimes you just listen, okay? And this was one of those moments where I go and listen. I like to receive different perspectives. I like to hear how other people think and how they approach situations. So Daryl was talking to me about relationships, and it wasn't just guys in a barbershop. shout out to ashley who sit across and she be doing her so ashley was in there too was a woman in a chair and they got to talking about men and women in relationships and how they coexist and they started to talk about marriage and how things have changed over time or how things should change over time and daryl said something that had me you know clutch my pearls as they say he said like the idea is that women are the prize right and that men should chase women and he said that is completely wrong and that's what's wrong with the world and why the world is the way that it is he said men need to realize that they the prize they need to stand up stand tall and make these women work a little harder to get them oh my god i said oh really i gotta to bring this to the show. So that's where he is. Daryl has given

00:03:45 - 00:04:31 | Speaker 4:

you some gems. One of them was like breaking up and how you should break up before the holidays. So you don't have to buy a gift. What was the one before that? What was the first one? It was the one before that. It was like it was almost to the point where I thought... One was very divisive. I thought that the women of the show were going to go through the phone line and they were going to mess up his barber-like hair. Wasn't it like a breakup one or something i can't remember what the last one was yeah the last one was the breakup before the holidays one okay yeah yeah um so kev when he's doing this are you writing this down in a notebook or what are you doing i pull out my phone like oh this is gonna kill him or sometimes i'll just commit it to memory and say oh she's gonna kill him yeah um again his thing is that men

00:04:31 - 00:04:45 | Speaker 5:

he thinks do what again that women are the prize and that men chase women men put women on a pedestal and they need to stop doing that they need to stop doing that and realize that we're

00:04:45 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 4:

the prize and women should chase us wow we gotta call him dog question for you on daryl is he married single what is he he's single well i mean i don't know if he broke up with his girl by choice or

00:05:00 - 00:05:03 | Speaker 5:

That's what it was. He was talking about his own relationship. Yeah, yeah.

00:05:04 - 00:05:15 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. Lynn wants to make a comment. What did you want to say about Daryl? Oh, hold on. That's so bad. What is going on with this phone line thing here? We've got to get this fixed. Say it again.

00:05:15 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I said I wanted to make a comment about his friend Daryl.

00:05:20 - 00:05:20 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:05:21 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 3:

He's an ass hat.

00:05:24 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 1:

Hold on. Hold on. I think he's on the phone. Tell it to him. Tell it to him. Hold on a second. He's on the phone. I just saw Daryl dialing in himself. Daryl. Hey, what's up? Lynn wants to say something to you. Say it clean, Lynn.

00:05:40 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 3:

You are an A hat. You're a hat. But I do want to say this. He's on to one thing, but he's wrong about the way that he said it. So, I think what is wrong with the world is that it is set up that way where men chase after women and women are standing around waiting to get picked. That is the problem, but not the reason you said. It's not because men are the prize. It's because men are the ones that are supposed to stand there and look pretty while we pick based on real intangible things. Men don't know how to pick women. They pick based on stupid things, like what they look like, and nature has shown us that it is the male of the species that is the one that's supposed to be, like, pretty and stepping around, punching the kids.

00:06:37 - 00:06:44 | Speaker 1:

So where women spend their time trying to make themselves look pretty, the guys are the ones that are supposed to be looking pretty for the women.

00:06:45 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 3:

Think about it. Men naturally look better. Like, they have long eyelashes. They usually, like, they don't have to put on makeup and do all that stuff. They're the ones that are supposed to be trying to impress us to get picked. We should be the ones doing the picking. What do you think about that, Daryl? Yeah, we would pick things on better things than what they pick on.

00:07:06 - 00:07:22 | Speaker 4:

I feel like we're the prize because we're strong, we're durable, we're consistent, and we can't have babies without us. So I feel like we are the part because we bring everything to the world.

00:07:23 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 1:

Darryl, how long have you been single?

00:07:27 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 2:

I'm just wondering, Darryl, what these men are bringing to the table other than finances and physical strength.

00:07:34 - 00:07:36 | Speaker 4:

What is it to bring?

00:07:36 - 00:07:42 | Speaker 2:

I think that's why women aren't chasing men, though, is because you're not coming to the table with more.

00:07:42 - 00:08:00 | Speaker 4:

because think about it finances make the world around right right but i can make my own finances that's true that's true but do you want to spend it on the bills yeah that's what i do that's what you do but do you want to if you can have your way you spend on your deal or you

00:08:00 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 2:

i want my own peace and happiness that doesn't require me to take care of somebody else so if that's the expectation of me and the relationship which let's be honest there are plenty of women out there who want that in a relationship and that's great but i think if men are going to ask to be chased you have to bring something to the table other than my ability to go shopping when i provide that for myself i can buy what i want for myself and pay my own bills so what else is what

00:08:28 - 00:08:37 | Speaker 4:

else is on the table i'm a protector if a guy come out and try to rob you do you want to fight them off or would you rather have a guy to fight them off?

00:08:38 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 2:

I just, now call me crazy, don't feel like that's going to happen enough for that to be the deciding factor.

00:08:48 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 4:

It's a lot of things that us men do that we bring that doesn't get shined on. They just be like, oh, we just like, no, men are very important in society. We are. That's why we get our last, y'all get our last

00:09:04 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 2:

man we don't get up oh no that's not why it's the tradition of buying women as wives is why

00:09:11 - 00:09:38 | Speaker 1:

we were property daryl i do think that that uh first caller that we had had a really interesting point that guys need to stop looking at the physical and look a little bit more and women should look more at the physical like that's an interesting thing i think i think that too many times i don't think women look for the physical and guys i think i disagree with you i think that But I think more so women look at a guy to make sure he's not a douchebag because too many guys are douchebags.

00:09:38 - 00:09:41 | Speaker 5:

But if you're looking at the physical, I mean, that can help with that.

00:09:41 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, I think that maybe there's the problem. Maybe we're looking too much at physical both. That's why dating games, you know, those dating games used to back in the day used to have the people hidden and you didn't know what they looked like until the very end.

00:09:54 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 5:

I mean, it's love is blind. Yeah.

00:09:55 - 00:09:56 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Shelby?

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 3:

What happened to...

00:10:00 - 00:10:20 | Speaker 1:

like masculinity and security i am not going to chase a man that's going to make me feel like the man in the relationship can i be honest though i feel like in order to have a successful relationship you need to be chasing each other yes i totally agree and once the chase i think

00:10:20 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 2:

wears off is where you see a lot of issues in relationships that's when affairs happen that's

00:10:24 - 00:10:51 | Speaker 1:

when cracks happen i i totally agree with you i a pastor told me one time like i i and now it drives me crazy i hate it when people say like relationships should be 50 50 when whatever it comes to and he's like no relationships should be 100 100 yeah you should always be putting in 100 and i think that that equates to the chase as well like both people in a relationship want to feel desired. Correct.

00:10:51 - 00:10:54 | Speaker 2:

Ricky, what did you want to say? Yeah, go ahead.

00:10:54 - 00:11:56 | Speaker 4:

Go ahead. In most cases, men don't feel appreciated. And it's not to make men seem like they're very sensitive or feminine in any type of way. It's just that men get overlooked for everything that we bring to the situation. And it's not about a lot of times if we can afford a relationship. It's about can we afford a breakup? Because a lot of times when women leave, we don't get looked that as being emotional like we're emotional right too especially if we go through a divorce the kids get taken the finances get taken the house get taken the car get taken so a lot of times we just get overlooked and it's like you're supposed to be a man you're barbaric you'll be okay but a lot of times men are left and men have feelings too they have feelings too so that's why i say when we come into the situation a woman gets the lead with everything she gets the lead with her kids, the dogs, the house. The man has to leave with half his things going. Anything he can keep for himself. I think, Daryl,

00:11:56 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 2:

I do think, Daryl, that both leave with less, unfortunately. And one of the things that they do leave with is sometimes a broken heart.

00:12:05 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 4:

It would feel better if you're a broken heart and you still got your couch.

00:12:11 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 2:

This, by the way, is Cavs barber Daryl. Daryl the barber with some Some relationship advice here on the Mojo on the Morning Show. We know he's our relationship expert. Ricky wants to comment. What's up, Ricky?

00:12:22 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 3:

How's it going, Mojo, and the crew? Good. Daryl looking at it wrong because Kevin know better. Kevin comes from a Christian family, right? The Bible says you find a wife, you find a good thing. Find a good thing. I know. I'm knowing, bro. Well, me growing up, I pray. I ask God, I want to be married by 25. So you send me a wife. I'm doing this at 15 to 16, 17 years old. So I got married at 25. God sent me that wife. You know, that should be 30 years of marriage. It hasn't been gravy bussing down. It'd take two to make it right. But if your household not in order, it's something that's got to do with the head of the house. Who's the head of the house, Kevin?

00:13:02 - 00:13:04 | Speaker 4:

Why are you asking me? You got to talk to Derrick.

00:13:05 - 00:13:06 | Speaker 3:

No, no.

00:13:06 - 00:13:07 | Speaker 4:

That's your partner.

00:13:07 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no. Kay, I'm with you, but you brought her to the show. Yeah. But my point is, we the head of our household. If our household not in order, it's something got to do with the husband. If my wife not happy, I got to go to her. What's wrong, babe? Let's talk about it. So, Kevin, you know, women don't chase men. Come on now.

00:13:27 - 00:14:14 | Speaker 4:

I'm not disagreeing with you, bro. But listen. I would like to disagree because, listen, I get what you're saying. I understand. And that is Bible. I get it. You know, I understand all that. But just because a woman is not happy, it shouldn't be happy wife, happy life. It should be happy spouse, happy house. So both parties should be happy because a lot of men, I feel a lot of times, a lot of men be dead or have a stroke because they're so busy trying to make their wives happy, and then they're not happy. So I'm not saying that it doesn't, you know, you being head of household shouldn't be a responsibility and everything, you know, that comes with that. But I'm just saying, like, we shouldn't be getting overlooked neither.

00:14:14 - 00:14:17 | Speaker 2:

I do like that. Happy, happy spouse, happy house.

00:14:17 - 00:14:19 | Speaker 4:

We should be overlooked.

00:14:20 - 00:14:38 | Speaker 2:

Can I can I ask a question? Can I interject for one second? I want to know, how does this relationship talk come about? Does it because I know Kevin's, you know, going through, you know, breakup and, you know, he's trying to figure some some stuff out, moving out and stuff. Does it come up because you're trying to help him? You don't even talk about.

00:14:38 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 4:

No, no, a lot of men come in a barbershop, a lot of men come in a barbershop, and these are discussions that talk amongst men that are not talked about publicly. See, a lot of men don't want to say certain things because they have marriages or they have relationships, and they don't want to offend women. I'm just crazy enough to just go and say it. I'll be feeling like, look, man, at the end of the day, it's not all about women.

00:15:00 - 00:15:26 | Speaker 8:

women. And, you know, society, even when it comes to, like, holidays, Mother's Day and everything, holidays, you don't get nothing. Like, everything is overlooked about a man when a man does so much for a relationship. A man is a prize in a situation. I'm not saying in the way of, like, a woman pretty and fancy, you know, I'm just saying as a man, like, look what you bring to a relationship. Like, look who you are as a man. Do you think guys don't have enough

00:15:26 - 00:15:28 | Speaker 6:

confidence in themselves? Is that why you're saying this?

00:15:29 - 00:15:32 | Speaker 8:

I think society just pushes narrative that's not necessarily true.

00:15:32 - 00:15:33 | Speaker 6:

Okay.

00:15:33 - 00:15:40 | Speaker 8:

I think everything is always just pushed into the fact that, hey, the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman. It's like, no. No way.

00:15:41 - 00:15:42 | Speaker 6:

Lauren, what did you want to say?

00:15:44 - 00:15:52 | Speaker 7:

So I think Shannon and poor Daryl is an asshat. It is saying the same thing.

00:15:52 - 00:15:56 | Speaker 6:

So you're saying Shannon and Daryl are saying the same thing?

00:15:56 - 00:16:07 | Speaker 7:

Kind of, yeah. Yeah. Yes, because Shannon's just saying it in a better way than this asshat is. Poor Daryl. Let's be nice. Take it apart.

00:16:07 - 00:16:25 | Speaker 6:

But you understand, Shannon's speaking the language to you because, Lauren, you're a woman. Daryl's speaking to a lot of guys. If you look at the text messages, every guy is saying, Daryl's saying what I want to say. So I think the problem is that we speak a different language and we all need to figure out what the common language is.

00:16:25 - 00:16:33 | Speaker 7:

Get on the same page. Yeah, exactly. And, yes, you guys want to be appreciated, of course. It's the same thing. You guys are saying the same thing.

00:16:33 - 00:17:02 | Speaker 6:

So I will say this. Listen, I've been married a long time, and Chelsea and I jokingly will say we've been married for 30 years. How many of those years were happy? Maybe, I don't know, less than a few. But a lot of the times the problems come into play with what both Shannon and Daryl are saying. And the problems come into play that everybody, you always have one chasing instead of both working together at the same time. If you row a boat and you row against each other, what is going to happen? That boat's going to go in a circle.

00:17:02 - 00:17:04 | Speaker 7:

Yeah. And you're not going to get any of that.

00:17:04 - 00:17:09 | Speaker 6:

So, Daryl the barber on the Mojo in the Morning Show. Love having Daryl on.

00:17:09 - 00:17:10 | Speaker 4:

Daryl, you need your own segment.

00:17:10 - 00:17:21 | Speaker 6:

I'm thinking that we should get a sponsored segment from Daryl. Brought to you by Dave Mendelsohn, Attorneys at Law. I don't know. Could you imagine?

00:17:21 - 00:17:24 | Speaker 8:

The segment is ex-Daryl. That's it. It's ex-Daryl.

00:17:24 - 00:17:38 | Speaker 6:

Ex-Daryl. Ex-Daryl. Ex-Daryl. Dick, Daryl, Daryl does the, I don't know. I'm trying to alliterate. How do we Daryl? Daryl, Daryl's do's and don'ts. Oh. There you go. I like it.

00:17:38 - 00:17:39 | Speaker 8:

I like that.

00:17:39 - 00:17:45 | Speaker 6:

Daryl. Always love alliteration. We got to get a picture of Daryl cutting hair, too, for the promo picture. Can we do that?

00:17:45 - 00:17:50 | Speaker 8:

I'm going to be up there later, bro. I'll grab one. Oh, yeah, yeah. Most definitely, man. I'll see you later.

00:17:50 - 00:17:54 | Speaker 6:

And by the way, don't anybody go into Daryl's Barbershop and scream out, asshat!
