mojo in the morning show so do you become honest or do you become deceptive um we got to get some advice here from mike on a parenting issue that he's faced with mike you got will you tell the story that you told us in our pre-show meeting this morning that There's a little dilemma here for you and Allie, and I hope that Cecily's not listening right now, right?

Yeah, yeah. We got the cat we promised her, the kitty we promised her, right when we got back from L.A., so it was about a week ago. What'd you name the cat? Cecily named it, she named it Sweetie.

Like Saw-weedy or Sweetie? I call it Saw-weedy, but like we say, Bessie and Artessie all the time. But she called it Sweetie because when she got there, because she wanted to be surprised. We picked out the cat. She wanted to be surprised and met the cat for the first time at the adoption place. And so it came up to her and it was like a really nice cat. It was a Sweetie. So she named it Sweetie. I love it. And it's been a week. And I haven't talked about it yet because day two of getting the cat, she woke up that morning because the cat's sleeping with her now, which is awesome. It's what we wanted.

and but her eyes are are swollen shut oh geez oh no oh no oh mike wait did you notice any allergies or anything when you guys were volunteering at the shelter and visiting the

cats uh no well no well she's been around pets before too like it's it's not um she's never we've never volunteered at any of the shelters but she's been around pets before and never had an issue And she's been tested for allergies when we found out she had an egg allergy. So she got tested, and she had very little, very minimal to any of the other stuff. So we weren't too worried about it. But this is a – it's like her eyes are swollen shut when she wakes up every morning. And she puts eye drops in it, and it goes away. But, I mean, the second she's back within like an hour, it does the same thing. Yeah, I know.

You didn't want this cat in the beginning, did you?

No. No, I really didn't. I still don't, but it makes her happy.

way i'm so so allergic to cats what do you do i mean so i'll tell you this we had dogs like my mom has always had golden retrievers growing up and i was very very allergic to them i had to get allergy shots that was the only thing because like no allergy medicine was strong enough for me so i would go and get allergy shots like once or twice a week depending on like my age so so uh so

your family still had a pet even though you had the... Yes, jerks. That's like cruel and unusual. It is. By the way, Mike, I think that there's a lot of people that have had this where they brought a pet home and then something happens like the pet is like the devil and they're like, I don't know if we can do this. Or in this case, which is nobody should come down on you. This is legit. You got allergies but what do you do do does the pet run away um does the pet did the pet

miraculously die have you tried giving her like a like a zyrtec or claritin or something

uh always done so all we've done so far because it it stopped for a day and then it came back and then it stopped for a day and it came back and so all we've done so far is just eye drops

just to get rid of the redness i wonder if you throw her some like a you know yeah but why do you want to medicate your kid over a lot of kids but a lot of kids you know until they get a little more used to it so take allergy medicine build up a build up a little tolerance okay so let me tell you this charlie is my dog and he's a toy poodle and i'm really allergic to dogs as well i'm allergic to everything okay when i first got him and he's supposedly hyperallergenic which by the way if anybody tells you that there's no such thing it's even if they're they're um they don't shed like You're allergic to the dander and the saliva most of the time. So when I got him hypoallergenic dog, like the first month, I was Cecily. I was sneezing. My eyes were whatever. But then my doctor even said to me, you will build up a tolerance to this animal because you're around them all the time. And I have. I have no issue now.

Did you contemplate getting rid of Charlie?

I contemplated giving him to my mom. Yeah, I really did.

Dawn, any advice for Mike on what he should do?

yes you can actually take sweetie to the vet and they will give um her medication that she'll take once a month and then nobody will have any allergies really

they can that's really interesting they can give medication to an animal to get rid of the allergies that a human has yes once a month interesting that's a very interesting don't

get rid of her take her to the vet you gotta explore that yeah i'm not gonna i'm definitely not going to get rid of her. I can't get rid of her. We had a fish incident. Remember we got that fish a long time ago? And that disappeared and I haven't heard the end of it since that. Wait, how

did that fish disappear again? Refresh my memory.

I went to the doctors because it was sick. Oh. I love that this

Have you bathed the cat yet, Mike? Because bathing an animal is always a pain in the ass.

I didn't even think you bathed cats, honestly. I don't know.

I'm not a cat owner, but we said we bathed our dogs. You don't ever bathe them ever? Or do you take them to get groomed?

No, cats just take care of themselves. Cats?

You don't ever give a cat a bath?

I don't think so. I really never knew this. No. Because they bathe themselves.

If you have a hairless cat, you actually have to, like, clean their ears and clean their skin. So, like, hairless cats are way more work, but normal cats, you don't bathe.

You know, I'd like to ask this question because I think these calls could be kind of relatively amusing, but I would like to know whose parents got rid of the animal without them knowing about it, and what was the thing that they told you happened to the animal? Not that Mike's going to do this with Saweetie. No, no. Okay, but...

What did happen with the fish is the fish, we went on vacation for a weekend and we fed, we put fish food in the thing and whatever, and we came back and the fish had jumped out of the fish bowl or whatever. I have no idea why. Maybe the water wasn't right or something. And so it was sitting on the floor. Yeah. And it just died. Yeah. So it went to the doctor.

It just didn't make it.

It was an Olympic high jumper.

It was dead upon arrival.

Yes. Went to the big aquarium in the sky.

Yeah, so when I was a little kid, I was probably eight years old. It was my second cat, and the cat started peeing around the house, and my dad wanted none of that. They just got new carpet. it so that he dropped it off on the dirt road by the side of our house and and i i said where's zoe where's zoe and he just said oh she decided she didn't want to live with us so i took her and

she lives at the trailer park probably oh my god cats are smart they can figure out a way to come

home yeah i mean oh i know and i i took my little barbie bike at the time and i went out for three

hours looking for all along the dirt road oh my gosh that's cruel dad just dropping the cat off

i never forgave him for that i still don't nor should you five yes thank you for the call

hi i'm coming about the sleeping with the cat my son had the same issue but at my mom's house he would look like death and um he said that at a point he couldn't breathe good so when at our house with our cat we got a new cat too and um it started happening every now and then with our two and our vet recommended do not sleep do not have the child sleep with the cat in the bed oh that might be a good yeah that might be a very good idea just to especially sleep wise it might get really really bad and you don't know yeah so good advice hold off with it in

high school like i really believe that the dogs just needed a better life with a bigger yard and

somebody text us and said that their parent did the same thing that that one caller's parent did where they dropped the cat off like you know miles or whatever way and the cat came back yeah they're smart it kept coming back to the house dad you probably pissed off every time

When our parents decided it was getting too big and it needed to go back to live with it.
