America's social casino. All right, it is Mojo in the morning. So Mike is back. he went on a week vacation with his in-laws down to florida you went to a place in florida that i've heard so many people talking about it seems like the last five or six years it's become like the hot spot it's like the destine area florida right yeah yeah miramar beach destine area and so mike is uh is back and we don't know exactly how did you do the road trip because before you left you were trying to see if a listener would give you their car to drive and then you would trade something either a service or something that you know would be beneficial to them for use of their

00:03:02 - 00:04:20 | Speaker 4:

car for a week and what did you do so we ended up going through toro and getting a uh a 2023 three kia sportage like hybrid because it was like brand new all the features were there uh it was rental so like i don't have to worry about miles or anything and then it was hybrid so i literally paid 80 bucks in gas to get to florida wow yeah yeah yeah yeah and so on top of that we got ali uh a bunch of different things for the ride she got this big like cushion for the the The seats were spacey enough, but the chairs itself, sitting for that long for her would have been pretty rough. So we got her this big cushion. She got compression socks, which side note. That's so smart. Yeah. I don't know if I was supposed to be excited about this, but I got very excited over those. They were like knee-high compression socks. Damn, soxy. Maybe it's been a minute. Wait, remind listeners how many weeks along she is. She is, so she has four weeks left. I'm trying to do the math. So she's 36 weeks. Thank you. Yeah. So she's due at the end of this month into like maybe June. Maybe June.

00:04:20 - 00:04:33 | Speaker 7:

So, Mike, with the baby coming soon, I know you talked to us before you left about how you have a boy's name, but you don't have a girl's name. Is that right? No. I'm sorry. You have a girl's name, but you don't have a boy's name.

00:04:34 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 4:

We, yeah. So we spent a lot of time on this road trip, too. just like the kids would fall asleep so we'd have all this time to get into like deep conversations and that's why I love road trips is because you you you are not forced to but you have a lot of opportunity to have these great conversations and uh the other person can't walk out of the room or or whatever so we had some wonderful conversations and then finally got into

00:05:00 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 1:

all right, we need to decide a boy's name. We cannot go into the delivery room and not have a name. So we went over 8 million names. We went through apps. We went through, we would see stuff on the side of the road, and we'd say that. We finally found a name, and we're like, this is it. We got a middle name. We got a first name. We had all these different meanings on why we loved the name. Then we get to Florida, and we start doing all these fun things, and we go to an aquarium and go to, like, this dolphin show, and all these little dolphins are flipping around and dancing and kids love it and it's a lot of fun. And then the stupid dolphin's name was that name. No. Yes.

00:05:38 - 00:05:39 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God.

00:05:40 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 1:

So I don't know if it's like when you get a car or when you find a name, you seem to hear it everywhere. But every single place we go, we see that name. And some of it's good. Some of it's really, really good. And then some of it is dolphins. And I'm like, well, was the dolphin good?

00:05:58 - 00:06:00 | Speaker 6:

Was it well-behaved? Because that always is a factor.

00:06:01 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 1:

I asked the kids if that was their favorite, and they said, no, Zeke was their favorite.

00:06:04 - 00:06:41 | Speaker 2:

I think, honestly, that that just happens. But you know what? I'd love to know, 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. What made you change the name before you named your baby that? What happened prior to your baby being born that made you go, uh-oh, we're not naming the baby this? 844-MOJO-LIVE 844-665-6548 Mike, the thing with seeing that name all over the place is just like when you start having kids do you ever notice that you start noticing everybody has the same strollers as you or everybody has the same baby, you know, the diaper bags

00:06:41 - 00:06:48 | Speaker 6:

Well, it's so top of mind for you, you know, you're always thinking about it or talking about it, so you notice it way more than you normally would

00:06:48 - 00:07:01 | Speaker 2:

I never saw the stroller that we had with luke and then all of a sudden i saw that stroller everywhere and it was the same stroller all over the place to a point where you would go and you'd do it in the stroller parking at you

00:07:01 - 00:07:04 | Speaker 6:

know different places and then would you judge parents you're like oh they splurged for the

00:07:04 - 00:07:17 | Speaker 2:

leather grips on the handles they got the one that's got like two kids can fit into it um but i think that's what happens with this name thing i think that it's a it's a subconscious psychological

00:07:17 - 00:07:40 | Speaker 1:

some kind of thing it could be but what happens if like because the dolphin thing is is wild and it's kind of hard to stick with the name after you've seen the dolphin really i was gonna that was my question is is the name out now i don't know i don't know i went back we went back and forth again but like what if something more serious were to happen i i can't think of anything off the top of my head but i don't know that we keep this name i think it's a sign that's the name

00:07:40 - 00:07:46 | Speaker 2:

pamela what's going on what made you guys have to change the name okay so i thought we love the

00:07:46 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 3:

named Connor which I'm thinking okay it's not a I think I thought it was a strong good name and I know a lot of Connors I thought it was a good name my sister-in-law when we were telling him the names and the secret is now don't ever tell anybody your name before you you know because people give you it once you give it to them they're not going to give you your opinion but before that so she looked at us right in front of my husband everything and she goes you can't name him Connor we're like why not we love that name she goes they'll go around just calling him condom boy he'll just be condom boy his whole life and my husband was like nope can't name him that i can't have my son going around being called condom boy wait why condom boy just the con and con like the first couple letters i guess i don't know she didn't make the name so she made sure it wasn't

00:08:29 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 6:

gonna be that name let me tell you something they can come up with a nickname for any name uh what's

00:08:36 - 00:09:01 | Speaker 4:

up jessica yes hi good morning good morning what made you change the name well my 13 year old son when i was pregnant with him his father wanted to name him parker peter like spider-man peter parker backwards and i just i i couldn't i couldn't do it yeah but that right there i would

00:09:01 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 2:

You just, you know, said no to it right off the bat. But Alyssa, what's up?

00:09:10 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 5:

Hello. Good morning. How are you?

00:09:11 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 2:

We're good. What's going on?

00:09:13 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 5:

So when we were naming our son, we went through, like, just like my gajillion names. And my husband was dead set on the name Oliver. And I looked him dead in the face. I'm like, I'm not naming my son after the boy who killed Jon Snow.

00:09:27 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 2:

Oh, jeez.

00:09:29 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 6:

Spoiler alert. Don't blame us Come on, it's been out long enough No, I agree with you, I'm just saying people get real heated about this stuff I got death threats over Spoiling Jeopardy, remember

00:09:43 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 2:

Yeah

00:09:44 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 5:

Oh my god, I forgot about that story Well, sorry listeners

00:09:48 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 2:

I love, by the way, the name The name Spoiler is a good one too You can put that on there

00:09:53 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 5:

Oh, that would have been funny too

00:09:55 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 2:

That's funny though That's funny when you watch a TV show and you see that name in there and you're

00:10:00 - 00:10:06 | Speaker 6:

like okay and the person's a bad guy like that's the always makes you go i don't know i'm setting

00:10:06 - 00:10:29 | Speaker 9:

this kid up for a problem later in life brandy what's up hey hey um so i wanted to name my son sebastian and i would tell people the name and they would be like oh like the little mermaid i'm like no not like the little mermaid it was actually supposed to be from like uh another movie but everyone only reference to the stupid crab from Little Mermaid.

00:10:30 - 00:10:31 | Speaker 4:

That's a fun crab, though.

00:10:31 - 00:10:41 | Speaker 9:

I don't want people to think of this stupid crab every time they think of his name. So I changed it. His name is Gabriel now. Gabriel. I love both names.

00:10:41 - 00:10:47 | Speaker 6:

That's a great name. I like this one. Octavia had to change the name because your husband, why?

00:10:49 - 00:11:27 | Speaker 8:

He couldn't. He said he couldn't spell it. So we had So we had the name Jeremiah picked out. And so it was between, like, Jeremiah, Jordan, and, like, something else. And so I was really stuck on Jeremiah. And so the lady comes in to do the birth certificate. She's like, okay, well, what's the baby's name going to be? So I looked at him, and I'm like, okay, Jeremiah. He's like, no, I don't really – I don't know how to spell that. I said, you idiot. What do you mean you don't know how to spell Jeremiah? So we ended up going with Jordan because he's not my ex-cousin, but he was a dodo bird during the time.

00:11:27 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 6:

I hate to say this, though, but there are certain names I have a hard time spelling if I have to do it. Jeremiah is a tough one. Remember, whenever we do throwback throwdown, we have that Jeremiah and then Jeremiah. Well, yeah. But the other word, too, is I have no idea how to spell the word restaurant. For some reason, I always get caught on restaurant.

00:11:49 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 7:

Same. Same. If it wasn't for autocorrect, that word would never be spelled right. I, for some reason, can't figure it out.

00:11:56 - 00:12:01 | Speaker 8:

But my name is Octavia. That's not an easy name compared to Jeremiah.

00:12:01 - 00:12:07 | Speaker 7:

No, I disagree. I think Octavia is easier than Jeremiah. Oh, me too. Even the eyes would mess me up.

00:12:07 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 6:

Did he ever have problems with spelling your name?

00:12:10 - 00:12:11 | Speaker 7:

No, never.

00:12:11 - 00:12:14 | Speaker 6:

He never screwed it up, like, on a card or anything like that?

00:12:16 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 8:

I don't think so.

00:12:18 - 00:12:19 | Speaker 6:

No?

00:12:19 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 8:

No, I got to think back. I feel like maybe once, but no, I don't think so.

00:12:24 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 6:

You need a name like Bob or something like that. Just come up with something real simple, right?

00:12:28 - 00:12:37 | Speaker 10:

Shout out to all the kids who could never find their name on a souvenir keychain or license plate. What's your name? Thaddeus. Good luck with that one, sports. It's Mojo in the Morning.
