Now back to Mojo in the morning.

00:01:04 - 00:01:06 | Speaker 2:

Back to Mojo in the morning.

00:01:07 - 00:01:40 | Speaker 5:

All right, it's Mojo in the morning show. I find it always so cute at this time of the year. Now that my kids are grown and they're not at the age where I get to have the fun of Santa Claus coming to my house. But I always find it fun living vicariously through, you know, Shannon's, you know, adventures with Lucy and Smith and Mike's with Cecily and Milo. And how is the magic been for the season right now? Has it been fun for all of you guys?

00:01:40 - 00:01:41 | Speaker 1:

It's been so fun.

00:01:42 - 00:01:47 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's been good. You guys, Elf on the Shelf is still not driving you guys nuts.

00:01:47 - 00:01:51 | Speaker 1:

Set up a snowball fight this morning. Oh, that's cool.

00:01:51 - 00:02:01 | Speaker 5:

Mike, you were tucked in a hotel Because you've been doing Breaking Night and Christmas Wish Last night Did you find out what the elf did for Milo and Cecily?

00:02:01 - 00:02:08 | Speaker 3:

So, day one of Elf on the Shelf There's one rule with the elf on the shelf, right?

00:02:08 - 00:02:11 | Speaker 1:

Because your elf is brand new This is the first year the elf has visited your house

00:02:11 - 00:02:15 | Speaker 3:

Yes I think the only rule is you can't touch the elf Correct

00:02:15 - 00:02:16 | Speaker 1:

Or he or she loses its magic

00:02:16 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 3:

So, my daughter decided because the elf was in a pile of candy, my daughter decided to take pieces of that candy and pick up the elf and move the elf. So she hasn't technically, like remember the game Plinko, where you'd move the little sticks.

00:02:33 - 00:02:39 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, that's what it was like. She would move a little piece of candy and it would move. Or Operation was another one I played too, where you had the little tweezers.

00:02:40 - 00:02:43 | Speaker 1:

Oh, see, I would still say that's touching the elf. She cannot be moved.

00:02:44 - 00:02:46 | Speaker 3:

The magic is gone, is that what you're saying?

00:02:46 - 00:02:48 | Speaker 1:

If the magic is gone, you have to write a letter to Santa Claus.

00:02:48 - 00:02:57 | Speaker 3:

I think, I think there was, yeah, I think there was, I think the elf is, actually, I know for a fact, the elf is up high today, and there was a letter written, and yeah.

00:02:57 - 00:03:04 | Speaker 5:

Speaking of the magic gun, you know what you gotta do? You gotta tell that story about how Cecily wants to, uh, oh, yeah. Go ahead.

00:03:04 - 00:03:43 | Speaker 3:

She wants to, uh, so it was, it was last year, we caught Santa on, um, the nest cam, walking out of the house, and it was a very cool moment, um, where Cecily got to see, cause Santa wasn't looking at the camera or anything, but she got to see Santa kind of walk out. It was like a Santa spotting. And I was like, oh, that's so cool. She's going to remember that forever. You know what I mean? It's going to keep the magic going forever. And then fast forward to this year. Now she wants to take those nest cams and set them around the Christmas tree so that she can catch Santa Claus in the act delivering presents.

00:03:44 - 00:03:45 | Speaker 1:

I love this.

00:03:46 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 3:

I do not.

00:03:47 - 00:03:49 | Speaker 1:

Did she watch The Christmas Chronicles? Because that's what that movie's all about.

00:03:50 - 00:03:51 | Speaker 3:

On Netflix? No, no, I don't think so.

00:03:52 - 00:03:52 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:03:53 - 00:03:55 | Speaker 3:

And they do. They do catch? They do catch.

00:03:56 - 00:04:34 | Speaker 5:

My brother got yelled at by Santa Claus for staying, this is before the technology of nests and ring cams, for staying up one night and hiding behind the couch and ended up having a lot of Santa swear words, I guess, told to him. I told him to get, you little son of a bitch, get back to bed. get back to bed. I can't believe Santa would speak like that. And then got, uh, gotten, you know, Santa, he got a Christmas ruined for him by doing that. So Cecily has to be very, very careful of what she does with, uh, wanting to see Santa Claus.

00:04:34 - 00:04:50 | Speaker 3:

Well, that's, yeah, that's the, the thing here is a, I feel like we can't keep doing this every year. We can't keep setting up cameras to catch Santa, but I feel like we, we have to, this has to be stopped, right? Like, I have to figure out a way to convince her that this is a bad idea.

00:04:51 - 00:04:56 | Speaker 5:

Well, I think you need to do the whole thing like what Shannon said, where, you know, touching the elf with the...

00:04:56 - 00:04:58 | Speaker 1:

Any kind of touching. The thing that's not good. She needs to stay put.

00:04:58 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 5:

So any type of...

00:05:00 - 00:05:21 | Speaker 6:

of camera spotting or staying up late get you into trouble and then use the words that my Santa Claus used, you little son of a bitch. See how that pulls off. Did anybody get in trouble from Santa Claus for trying to capture Santa?

00:05:21 - 00:05:33 | Speaker 4:

I used to set up a trap when I was a kid. I'd put dental floss across the fireplace and try and see if he would trip the wire. Never did. He was always on to me.

00:05:33 - 00:05:48 | Speaker 6:

You know what our house is bad? My dad would turn that fireplace on and leave it on always in the wintertime. He was too cheap to run the heat in our house. And I used to always say, Dad, you're going to burn Santa Claus. You know what I mean? Because the thing would be burning and smoldering, and I'd get worried about that.

00:05:48 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 4:

They would always say, Santa has a special suit. Yeah. My dad would say. Don't worry. His suit is fire retardant.

00:05:53 - 00:06:03 | Speaker 6:

Well, can you get that suit for the fire guys, the firemen from our local fire department for that? I blame you, you creative parents. I blame the creative parents.

00:06:04 - 00:06:04 | Speaker 4:

Overzealous.

00:06:04 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 6:

Who are, you know, creatively doing fun little things like Mike, you know, you and Allie did with setting up the camera last year so that you can kind of, oh, look, cute. I got something to post on Instagram. Now it comes back and bites you in the ass, doesn't it?

00:06:17 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 3:

It does. It does. It does. It does. I think it was a good way to keep the magic

00:06:25 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 6:

Yeah But now One step further Now you've got CSI

00:06:31 - 00:06:39 | Speaker 5:

Law and Order SVU You've got a detective on your hands I know, looking for loopholes And ways she can move the elf Pamela, what's happening?

00:06:40 - 00:07:30 | Speaker 1:

Okay, well see I was before, you know We had video and I Spy And all that stuff like we have now too But I stayed visual all night long you know and i would stay in the living room and so there was no other way and i where i slept i placed myself so santa couldn't get near the christmas tree without waking me up but i'm a really light sleeper so i was staying up all night long well santa that night and i was i could outlast everybody and i stayed up all night long wait for santa santa outdid all of us and santa delivered all of our presents my brothers mine my sisters everybody's in the bathroom that night the bathroom was uh was the new spot the bathroom was the new spot so imagine my surprise when i went into the bathroom to go to the bathroom and oh my god santa had come he outsmarted me

00:07:30 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 6:

thank god for that smart santa claus what a great idea for anybody listening edwin what's happening

00:07:35 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 2:

what's going on mojo i love you guys oh we love you too buddy uh so i didn't try and catch santa i tried to catch a reindeer actually so what i did was the night before christmas i threw a carrot on top of the roof to see if Rudolph would eat it. It ended up snowing that night, so the carrot was gone, so I was convinced that Rudolph came and ate it.

00:07:59 - 00:08:06 | Speaker 6:

Man, that's a very good parent or somebody. What are you talking about?

00:08:06 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 4:

Reindeer ate it, Mojo. Oh, yes.

00:08:09 - 00:08:13 | Speaker 1:

You were also really smart for doing that to see.

00:08:13 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 6:

What do you do for a living nowadays?

00:08:15 - 00:08:26 | Speaker 2:

00:08:26 - 00:08:30 | Speaker 6:

whatever part that we're making okay smart yeah i thought you'd be like a chemist or something

00:08:30 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 4:

like that or like uh yeah and there somewhere there was a dad cursing three years later when the gutter was blocked by a rotten carrot right uh what's going on spencer hey how's it going

00:08:45 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 6:

Good. What's happening?

00:08:47 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 8:

Just wanted to say, Mike, you just need to write a letter and have the unfolding it the next morning here. Basically telling her that I reported back to Santa that letter is from him. He wants you to not put up any cameras because it will ruin you. Great idea. Great idea.

00:09:06 - 00:09:11 | Speaker 6:

Very smart. Mike, write this down. Get it going. Rob?

00:09:13 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 7:

Hey, how you doing?

00:09:14 - 00:09:15 | Speaker 6:

Good. What's going on, Rob?

00:09:16 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 7:

I just have Mike put the cameras up and let Cecily do it. And then when they're putting the presents around or whatever, the cameras mysteriously go out because the magic of Santa comes. That's another great idea.

00:09:29 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 8:

Great idea, too. Yeah.

00:09:30 - 00:09:30 | Speaker 7:

Video.

00:09:31 - 00:09:31 | Speaker 8:

Yeah.

00:09:31 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 6:

Yeah. Or you really want to screw with your kids and have them never want you to ever use a video camera ever again? Video of mom and dad doing some fun stuff.

00:09:44 - 00:09:47 | Speaker 4:

What's wrong with you? Scarring for life. Scarring for life.

00:09:48 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. Santa Claus is... That's what you got. Santa and Mrs. Claus hanging out, Mike. Do you guys ever dress up, by the way, Santa and Mrs. Claus? We haven't.

00:10:00 - 00:10:14 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, no. You can just try that. You sound like you've tried it. Chelsea and I have done that before. Have you? Yeah. I'm the best Mrs. Claus that ever has been around. Chelsea's Santa Claus, by the way. I'm the Mrs. Claus in that thing. Show over with you.
