Thanks for listening to us and not your better judgment. This is Mojo in the Morning.

00:01:38 - 00:02:06 | Speaker 5:

All right, Mojo in the Morning. I want to know what happened on Mike's big weekend. So for those that missed this, Mike talked on Friday about how Allie was going away on a bachelorette party weekend and leaving Mike with the kids. Now, Mike's not a guy that, you know, can't handle himself when it comes to the kids. matter of fact if you follow mike on social media on air mike you'll see this guy went above and beyond he took the kids to a ton of different places and it was a great weekend and no kid

00:02:06 - 00:02:44 | Speaker 6:

got injured right in this weekend uh they did but not hospital injured oh good okay well that's great scrapes and bruises a lot of scrapes it builds character yeah yeah we went uh we went camping at my uh my father-in-law's place he's got a place on sandy pines which is like a half an hour from here so i was close to hospitals if needed uh but we um yeah it's basically like a little kids like fun place like there's tons of stuff to do there and so we just ran around the whole time and i don't think i sat down one time like i i think i sat down to sit by a campfire to roast marshmallows and then went to bed and that's the only time i sat down this weekend wow you're

00:02:44 - 00:02:58 | Speaker 5:

active i said this earlier this morning for those that listen to the podcast they'll hear it but i said most dads would have sat on the couch watching sports all weekend and let their kids play video games you take your kids on adventures yeah well their cousin was in town too so it kind of helped

00:02:58 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 6:

out a little bit they had somebody to play with and and i wanted to i want i don't get a lot of these weekends with just the two of them so it's i wanted to make the most of it and do everything i could and um and i it i mean i you see in these moments too what like what your wife or your spouse or whoever what they you know how you're such a great team because i missed there were so many times where i'm like oh that's that's the moment where she would have stepped in and helped me out there and this is where we rotate and i just had a bigger appreciation for you but something

00:03:28 - 00:03:33 | Speaker 5:

happened though yes that all that got you to a point where you thought i should not tell ellie

00:03:33 - 00:04:21 | Speaker 6:

about this so we went fishing at one point and um and this was big for me when i was a kid so one thing i remember with my biological father is he took me fishing as a kid and uh so i love to do it with my kids and and so i took milo fishing for the first time he's never been interested in he's only uh he's gonna be three in july and he caught his first fish he did yeah he was so excited he tried kissing it on the mouth like he was so and but that's that moment where it's like it's his first fish and we took a picture and i'm like oh no ali wasn't here for that and so if she misses moments like these like i'm gonna i feel like she's gonna just you know be super down and not want to go anywhere and not want to you know she's gonna be upset because she missed this milestone

00:04:21 - 00:04:25 | Speaker 5:

moment and she'll never want to go on another girl's weekend again because you might miss something

00:04:25 - 00:04:38 | Speaker 6:

yeah so i i didn't want to send it to her i didn't want to text her she wanted pictures from the kids you know like doing stuff this weekend so i sent her a couple i didn't want to bother her so you Did you send it to her? I waited. I waited. I hesitated. I didn't want to.

00:04:38 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

I felt like that, you know, wouldn't you guys be crushed or wouldn't you've been crushed? That's a big moment. But, you know, what's funny is I look at that as a moment that, you know, is a good dad and son moment. Yeah. But I will say this to you. It's a moment that I'm sure Allie would have loved to have been there. I mean, you know, I know that there's a lot of times where parents will be there for the first, you know, words.

00:05:00 - 00:05:14 | Speaker 7:

that come out of their mouth or the staps that, you know, happen. And I know that there are some that, you know, feel bad about telling the other spouse that that happened. And matter of fact, there are some people that probably lied and didn't. Yeah. Yeah.

00:05:14 - 00:05:25 | Speaker 2:

I almost, I mean, I almost just, I mean, didn't tell her and then waited and we would have went fishing. We're going camping in a couple of weeks and then he would have caught a fish then and it would have been his first one. And I almost just let it go.

00:05:25 - 00:05:34 | Speaker 7:

But, but, but you can't do that because what's going to end up happening is he catches the fish on the trip that you guys are on and then he goes I like the other fish better

00:05:34 - 00:05:38 | Speaker 1:

you know what I mean? Or Cecily's gonna say something you know? I don't know

00:05:38 - 00:05:47 | Speaker 7:

844 Mojo Live 844 665-6548 Shannon you and I were both on the same wavelength that this was kind of a good dad son moment. Yeah because there are gonna be so

00:05:47 - 00:05:57 | Speaker 1:

like I think the biggies like the first steps and first words like that would crush me if I was not there for that this I'd be like okay that's really cool that that happened. Are there any people listening

00:05:57 - 00:06:51 | Speaker 7:

of the show whoever lied to their significant other about one of the big moments that it didn't you know they didn't tell their spouse that it happened with them and then tried to get them to reenact it and when you guys were all together as a family so they'd be there i missed first words i've missed first steps i've missed so much this morning show stuff of leaving so early because a lot of times it happens when they're happy in the morning you know i mean like early in the morning and I thank God that you know my wife uh has been able to be a stay-at-home mom and that you know we've been able to you know I found a career that was able to provide that for her but I also feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff but I'm happy she got to experience it you know and that it wasn't experienced you know by with like a babysitter or grandma or babysitter or daycare or something like that I wonder how many times daycare people have to lie Oh, I bet they do a lot.

00:06:51 - 00:06:55 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I bet all the time. I mean, I would hope you guys do. And I give props to them for doing it because it means so much.

00:06:56 - 00:07:03 | Speaker 7:

Hey, Mojo in the morning, hello. Oh, I lost you there. What's going on, Kayla?

00:07:04 - 00:07:05 | Speaker 4:

Hi, good morning.

00:07:05 - 00:07:06 | Speaker 7:

Good morning. What's going on?

00:07:07 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 4:

Hi. So, actually, my son's father and I split when he was around six months old. So, unfortunately, there is a lot of firsts between the two of us that we don't get to share. So, that's kind of hard to accept. And the biggest one was I actually wasn't around for his first step.

00:07:21 - 00:07:21 | Speaker 2:

Oh, geez.

00:07:22 - 00:07:35 | Speaker 4:

And he's now almost two, and that's still hard with me. But, I mean, you've got to kind of come to terms that there's going to be things that you're not around for. But, I mean, he did say his first word around me, so I'm like, it equals out.

00:07:35 - 00:07:39 | Speaker 7:

So your ex, was your ex gentle with you in telling you this happened with him?

00:07:40 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, he did send me a video, and I was like, okay, so this happened. He's still a little wobbly, so maybe he'll take his actual first steps with you. Oh, that was really nice.

00:07:50 - 00:07:59 | Speaker 7:

You got a good guy. That sounds like you got a good day. Okay, that's good. I would fear that the guy would hold it over your head and go, look what I got. What's going on, Nicole?

00:08:00 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 5:

Hi. Morning, everybody. Good morning.

00:08:03 - 00:08:03 | Speaker 7:

What's going on?

00:08:05 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 5:

Listen, Allie and Mike, they're so cute. I was like, my husband fishes all the time. He can catch a whole school of fish. He don't have to kill me. It wouldn't bother me. It wouldn't bother me at all.

00:08:16 - 00:08:17 | Speaker 7:

You don't care about it.

00:08:17 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 5:

Heck no. Uh-uh.

00:08:19 - 00:08:20 | Speaker 7:

Yeah.

00:08:20 - 00:08:23 | Speaker 5:

I got three kids. I'm away with my girls having a good time.

00:08:24 - 00:08:29 | Speaker 7:

That's true. Allie's out drinking and having fun with her girlfriend. She's not caring about the fish.

00:08:29 - 00:08:35 | Speaker 5:

She loves Mike, and she wants to hurt Mike's feelings. But when he texted us, she was like, okay, he caught it.

00:08:37 - 00:08:48 | Speaker 7:

That's so true. That is true. I love it. You're probably right. what's up brie how you doing good how are you guys this morning we're doing okay you get missed

00:08:48 - 00:09:12 | Speaker 3:

out some uh big moments yeah so i had my son really young and um i ended up missing out on his first words which was mama because i was at school and my dad ended up lying about it completely he was like oh no he's not talking yet the next day he said it and it was great And I never knew until my son was like, oh, your grandpa is a hero.

00:09:12 - 00:09:33 | Speaker 7:

What a great guy for doing that. I like it. And then I like this too is, uh, I'm sorry. Who is this on the phone? And, uh, God, I can't, I don't know. Nikisha. Oh, they, they didn't put a, uh, they didn't put a, uh, uh, uh, separation in there. It said, I thought it was Nikisha, my, but it's my mom. Okay. What happened? Nikisha.

00:09:34 - 00:09:55 | Speaker 6:

Um, my mom watched my daughters. I started a new job working night, and I guess my daughter started walking, so she never told me. Then my dad came into town and took my daughter to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, and I was at work and got a video of my daughter walking at Chuck E. Cheese because my dad thought I knew.

00:09:56 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 7:

Oh, jeez.

00:09:57 - 00:09:57 | Speaker 6:
