Yeah, I don't know if people bribed their delivery person. So if you do, please let me know so I can justify this. I told you guys I ordered a couch a while ago, and we've been just kind of waiting on it. We went to Bob's Discount Furniture, and so we've been waiting on it, waiting to get the money situated and all that. But then when we ordered it, I was the one who went through and did all the ordering stuff, And I tried to save a couple bucks, tried to save a little bit of money. And so when they came to deliver it yesterday, I got a picture from my wife and a phone call from Bob's Discount Furniture telling me that I didn't pay the extra to have them actually put it in my house. So right now, I have a – or yesterday, I had a garage with boxed-up furniture just sitting there, and they weren't going to put it in the house. And it's not wrapped It's none of that

It's not even pieced together So it's not even They won't They'll deliver it to your house But they won't put it in your house Unless you pay a little bit extra To have them put it in your house

Yeah And it's my fault It's my fault Like I They asked for it It wasn't that much more But I was like You know what This is This is a I mean it's an expensive couch I finally put some money into a couch Because we had that boop couch before So I was like I need a good couch That was going to last us A very long time And then I started like Alright well We're not going to do this And we're not going to have this on there I started taking a little bit of money off here and there So I should have probably just clicked the box And said yes, go ahead, put it inside the house So once I get that phone call I'm like, Allie You've got to get them to bring that in the house It's just us and you just had a baby You're not going to help me lift this into the house I said, you have to bribe them I said, give them Respectfully Give them whatever they want There are some boundaries here Yes, there is a line.

Sounded like a parent. What did you tell her to bribe them with?

Well, at first, it was just like, hey, can we give you some cash? Can we give you a little extra? And I think they said no right away. And I said, Allie, and I didn't want to do this because I'm still jealous.

You remember that egg sandwich that she made for the construction guy at her old house?

Oh, do I remember? I do.

The infamous egg sandwich. Yes. Still haven't had that. But I said, Allie, you go make that egg sandwich.

Can you go real quick before you tell us what she did? Can you real quick explain? She made an egg sandwich, which she never made for you, but made it for, who was it again?

the guy was fixing the driveway at our old house and he was there just kind of standing around waiting for stuff to dry and she's like I'm going to invite him in and the kids were there but I'm going to invite him in and offer him some food or whatever and so she made this sandwich that I've never seen before this delicious incredible sandwich that I've never seen before had eggs it had a little turkey slice on it I believe made with love and care and it went to this guy who was fixing the driveway which was I was jealous. Okay, I'll say it. I was very jealous.

This time, though, now, you're pulling out the secret weapon, the jealousy weapon of the egg sandwich for this.

If it gets the couches moved inside. Because otherwise, I'm going to be standing there by myself trying to lift this couch into our house.

And like you said, you don't want your wife lifting anything because she just had a baby.

No, yeah. And also, I screwed up, so I'm trying to fix it at the same time.

I'm surprised they wouldn't take cash, by the way.

No, they did not. It was something, I guess, in the agreement that I signed when I bought the couches. I had the option to. Right.

No, I know some of those. You have to pay for that. I think they call it like a white glove delivery or something. Yeah. That they'll bring it in. Is it wrapped in plastic and stuff?

Oh, yeah, yeah. It's taped up. Have you ever tried paying somebody money and it worked? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. You've done it. I've done it.

Yes, yes. To remove furniture. After I bought furniture, I'm like, wait, but I don't even want, I want, I don't want what I had here in its place. And sometimes, you know, especially during COVID. To take things? Yeah. None of the, none of the places that I normally donate to were accepting donations.

Our van used to be the best at, the delivery drivers used to be the best at accepting bribes to do things. I actually had them like rearranged my entire living room at one point. They were so good. And then, Mike, I also paid, the neighbor had a landscaping company over and they were cutting the lawn and i didn't want to cut my lawn that week because i was too tired and i went over across the street and paid them money to to do that but it's so smart i don't understand why these guys didn't want to take it yeah well tell me about uh the uh bribe did she do it did she do

the egg sandwich no no she didn't she said no she said mike i'm not gonna she's like you should have signed up for this we'll figure it out i said really all right we're not there's nothing we can do i said i'm either gonna have to push this couch into our house or it's gonna sit there and We're going to have a garage couch. That's our new garage couch.

What did you do? I had, we have a couch that's in our garage halfway in the door, halfway out the door right now as I try to push it. Yeah. I got some of it in the house myself and then I'm just going to call, I'll call a friend eventually. But at that point you get that new stuff. You're like, I want it in the house now. I want the new couch in the house. So we got like an ottoman and partial parts of the couch. I could get it in because I could slide it in once I get there. Yeah. I'm just going to damage something. I should have just paid the damn thing. Wow. Why don't delivery drivers accept bribes?

I don't know. Delivery drivers call us up and tell us that. Well, maybe they're on the clock or maybe they're being watched by cameras or something. What's going on, Brooke?

Hi. Yeah, I definitely bribed a delivery driver before.

Yeah. And they didn't have any problem taking your money, did they?

No, not at all. We had a couch delivered, and it was from a really nice company, and so we did pay for that delivery, but we had a second couch. We were going to, like, move in place of it, and it was on our second floor, and we bribed them with cash, and I think I gave them, like, a granola bar, and they did it for, like, a granola bar.

That was a steal. Yeah.

It was so nice. It was definitely less than, like, just $300 it would have taken to, like, pay for another couch removal, but we definitely took a couple bucks and some food, and they were on their way.

I still don't understand why these companies don't just say, all right here's the price and we'll deliver it to you delivery included you know i know that that's their it's bob's discount uh maybe that's how they get very able to do the discount because there's probably people that are willing to bring their own trucks right and go get it or

yeah oh i could have easily yes i could have just went and picked it up myself but they offered the delivery service and i was like i don't have a truck to do that so deliver it the other thing i forgot about is they do have that service will they if you pay a little bit extra they'll take your couch like you guys just said yeah right now i have a couch sitting in my front yard just like just like just like a normal adult human boot yes you're like it's like a college frat

I work for an online retail company, and if it's not marked in-home delivery or white glove service, per the delivery driver's contract, they're not allowed to bring it inside.

And the reasoning is?

I'm not sure if it's a liability issue or if it's all about the money for the company. I can see the liability issue. Yeah, some delivery drivers will do it as a courtesy, but most of them won't. I get a lot of customers calling in complaining that it's sitting, like, by their front door. Like, they can't open their door because they have these big boxes. Yes, that always happens to me. And the delivery company left.

That should be a liability right there. Yeah. God forbid that house start on fire or those people are trapped. Yep. Manny is on with us right now. Manny, what's going on?

You'll actually move people's stuff that was delivered to their garage into their house?

Yep, there are so many companies out there that won't bring it inside the house. At the end of the day, it comes down to the money. You know, it's not worth it for these big companies to do that, So they'll just drop it off. And then, you know, you got Mr. and Mrs. Smith sitting there. Like, how are we going to get this couch inside of our house? And then they look up services. And I'm one of the top people on Google. Manny's moving and delivering.
