All right, Mojo in the Morning Show. Couple of quick little things. Friday was the 25th anniversary of Mojo in the Morning. Yeah. And we released on Friday a 25th anniversary We Don't podcast, the podcast that I do with my wife, Chelsea. The 25 years explaining the moving part of coming to work at WKQI Channel 955 and how the years kind of have gone by so quickly. What almost ended up being us leaving or Chelsea and I leaving possibly even after a year of being here, which was kind of wild to reminisce a little bit about that when we had some struggles, you know, with the move on our marriage. And then talked about raising the kids with talking about things on the radio, which is interesting. And this is actually a good one. And there's some people specifically that should listen to this podcast. And those are the single people of the Mojo in the Morning Show because we discuss how difficult it is on a relationship. to date somebody that's on this radio show and, um, how, you know, talking about your personal life can not necessarily be the greatest thing for your significant other. Uh, and how over the years I never understood that now, I think I understand it probably a little bit more. Uh, but I think age has kind of done that to me. It's like made me grow up a little bit going, Oh God, I guess it is kind of difficult that you tell a story on the air. Sometimes it may not be the, you know, perspective that the significant other really wants you to tell. And actually, I always believe this, and I think we all do this. We all have our radio version of stories

00:04:28 - 00:04:42 | Speaker 1:

and the real story. What? That is such a thing in my family is I'll tell a story and my sister will go, okay, now tell the real life version. We all do it. And it's funny because I actually

00:04:42 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 6:

have said this the real life version may not be as dramatic but would be equally as interesting but we like to spice it up a little bit yes and i think the problem is when we spice it up we spice it up to make us look sometimes better and uh the people that are around

00:05:00 - 00:05:22 | Speaker 5:

us don't you know really enjoy it oh it's funny i actually think quite the opposite i always make myself the bad guy in the stories because i don't think it's fair to bring up fights where the other person doesn't have a say so i there have been plenty of stories where i've told people like you're such a butthole and i told it from the perspective of the person who did it to me and i'll be like listen look what the public said you were the butthole

00:05:22 - 00:05:36 | Speaker 3:

you're a better person than i am you're a better person than i am because i like to make them look like the buckles let me ask you this though yes y'all feel like you only have those contentious

00:05:36 - 00:05:46 | Speaker 2:

conversations when you do bring up the quote-unquote bad stuff they don't want their voices or their names put on the air but when you showering them with praise it's all good no

00:05:46 - 00:05:50 | Speaker 5:

my brother doesn't want to be on the air no matter what you want to say his name depends on who it

00:05:50 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 3:

is for me kevin that is an interesting story to bring up because i feel like even when i tell a story that is a good story about them i feel like i will uh have uh chelsea not necessarily find it to be good and i actually was telling her that like i was telling her that uh hold on a second let me see if i can uh let me see if i if i can dial her up i can do this whole thing i actually this has actually been kind of cool that i can actually grab phones from here

00:06:22 - 00:06:25 | Speaker 5:

i like this everybody wants their stuff broadcast it's respecting people

00:06:25 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 3:

Now you're asking me too much.

00:06:30 - 00:06:31 | Speaker 5:

Top right.

00:06:32 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 3:

All right, hold on. Let me try this. This is my favorite song. Here, dial it, Lydia, for me. But if you tell a story about the person, and the person is, like Kevin just said, if you're showering your brother with praise, and you're showering Wes with praise, or if I'm showering Chelsea with praise, they also sometimes feel like we're invading their privacy by even just telling the story.

00:07:02 - 00:07:02 | Speaker 5:

Yeah.

00:07:03 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 3:

And I never got that younger days of me. I looked at it as, oh, I'm going to try to, like, make, you know, and then I would get crap.

00:07:14 - 00:07:50 | Speaker 5:

And I've been doing this a long time. Like, I've been doing this 14 years, and there have been people who have crossed the line with what they bring on the air about our loved ones. And so like for me, what do you mean people have crossed the line? Saying mean things about loved ones, bringing up personal things that I never wanted on the air about loved ones. So just who's done that listeners have people that I've worked with. It's like it's it's happened so many times out the years. It's not even funny. So like just respecting their privacy, I think, is always huge with our jobs because people will not respect boundaries.

00:07:51 - 00:08:15 | Speaker 3:

I think your brother and your dad usually get brought up by you, and then we add to our conversations about it. But I do think that they are such a huge part of your life. Like, Chelsea is a big part of my life, and my boys are a big part of my life. Like, I think that, you know, I don't ever necessarily think that out of the blue, people will say the negatives.

00:08:15 - 00:08:16 | Speaker 4:

Oh, yeah, it happens all the time.

00:08:17 - 00:08:19 | Speaker 3:

I think people, yeah, go ahead, yeah.

00:08:19 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 4:

Have you ever had somebody who said, do not talk about me on the radio, period?

00:08:26 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Definitely. And I think that's called middle school for the kids. Wait until Lucy goes into middle school next year.

00:08:36 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:08:36 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 3:

And then it becomes a don't ever talk about me.

00:08:40 - 00:08:46 | Speaker 4:

I'm talking about adults. I understand it with the kids. I totally get it with the kids. I'm an adult threatening to sue me.

00:08:47 - 00:08:52 | Speaker 3:

Really? Like a family member or a friend? Really? I like that.

00:08:53 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 5:

Not me. Not with my budget. With what lawyer?

00:08:59 - 00:09:07 | Speaker 3:

I'd like to see a family member sue me for bringing them up. Chelsea, will you sue me? Are you there? Chelsea? Hello. Hi, there you are. Hi.

00:09:08 - 00:09:09 | Speaker 1:

Hi.

00:09:09 - 00:09:27 | Speaker 3:

How you doing? I was talking about the podcast and talking very frankly with you over the years, the 25 years, How even if I was saying some things about you that were positive, not necessarily was it stuff that you wanted me to say on the radio?

00:09:31 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 1:

Right. Well, I don't think I ever was upset about you saying anything positive, but it typically wasn't positive. Or it didn't make me look like it was always how, you know, you had a bossy life and how hard it is for you and everyone feels sorry for you.

00:09:49 - 00:09:50 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, well.

00:09:50 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 1:

Yeah, make your own decisions. Yeah, stuff like that.

00:09:54 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, the perspective, I guess, is it was always told from my perspective.

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

A narrative.

00:09:59 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 3:

Yeah. It was your narrative that you put out there. It was your side of the story, which, you know, I said in the podcast that when you are with a group of friends and you're telling a story, of course, it's your side of the story. The difference is you're sharing it to millions of people who now have a view about me versus if I'm sharing it with a couple of friends.

00:10:22 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Have you ever wanted to sue me? Megan said that family members have wanted to sue her.

00:10:27 - 00:10:30 | Speaker 3:

well that would affect me so no

00:10:30 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 1:

I don't know though

00:10:32 - 00:10:36 | Speaker 3:

I've wanted to divorce you but I've not wanted to sue you

00:10:36 - 00:10:52 | Speaker 1:

yeah how do you think a divorce would have played with us I mean it's still an option for you but how do you think that that would have played on the air if we got divorced because we've had a couple of divorces on the radio

00:10:52 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 3:

it would not have played on the air one of the things that I would have said is you're not allowed to discuss it because there has to be a line I mean there has to be a point and if if we reach a point in our marriage where our marriage is over you don't get the right to even talk about me anymore is how I would feel unless it was an amicable thing and I said okay you can share certain things but at that point I mean it's hard enough because when we got into you know when I dated you and I we got married it was so

00:11:24 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 1:

different then it was just so different radio was radio was different we were we talked about that

00:11:30 - 00:12:08 | Speaker 3:

on the podcast social media yeah the aspect of social media you feel like everything is out there everything from my name to my face to our kids faces to it there is no privacy anymore where there was a little bit before and now now there's nothing there's zero so not only is your side of the story being played out on the air but there's pictures to go along with it sometimes and so there's zero privacy for us that are not that don't have a microphone in front of our mouth every day to plead our case or to give our side to the story. I uh I do think that doing this

00:12:08 - 00:12:40 | Speaker 1:

podcast has been a good thing probably for our marriage because you and I get opportunity to talk to each other but it's also good because you get to see the listener's reaction to you Cause the listeners hear a different version of you or, you know, a narrative of you because it's your narrative. So like that caller that called up earlier this morning that said you, you and I have a similar relationship to them. They get to hear what that's like. So, um, by the way, 20, yeah, by the way, she said it in a positive way, Chelsea, like she actually still loves her husband.

00:12:40 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 3:

I don't know. I wasn't listening. Sorry.

00:12:43 - 00:13:19 | Speaker 1:

Third or Friday morning or Friday day was kind of weird. It was like living my funeral because everybody kept calling or texting or people that I worked with. I think photos, I bet. I have photos. It was pretty wild. And it was awesome. And the video that was put together, Tony and Bianca and all those guys put together this video. And that was actually pretty cool. And to get a chance to see people talking about 25 years was pretty neat. So, and honestly, it's nothing compared to the Bushman who's just celebrated 30 years. I know.

00:13:20 - 00:13:20 | Speaker 2:

Wow.

00:13:21 - 00:13:52 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. So it's pretty, it's pretty cool. All right, Charles. Well, I'll talk to you. We're going to release a podcast today. A We Don't podcast because we had time to be with each other to do podcasts. We talk about meeting Jacob's boyfriend's family in the podcast that we're going to release today. And what those guys are like. So that was pretty cool. All right. I'll talk to you later, Charles. all right bye and if you do sue me my attorney is david feminino i wonder if he would represent me

00:13:52 - 00:14:18 | Speaker 2:

uh what's up megan hi hey i wanted to call you guys thank you for 25 years of service oh service oh my god that sounds so official you guys are you guys are so amazing and everything like mojo spike and shannon i feel like i've kind of grown up with you guys i'm um i'm a lot better now but i actually played music with you guys um quite a few years ago too i met spike um i was the

00:14:18 - 00:14:25 | Speaker 1:

trumpet player when you did the show for for the for matt millen back in yeah you were there you

00:14:25 - 00:14:33 | Speaker 2:

were the taps you did taps wow yeah i was nervous but can i tell you something thank you so much

00:14:33 - 00:15:00 | Speaker 1:

that is so awesome to meet to get a chance to talk to you because that was one of the pictures that I looked at from this past weekend was looking at some of the, that was cool. And then over the weekend, I had somebody send me a picture and they were part of our very first idol contest that we ever did. Uh, when, when American Idol was popular and we did Mojo Idol and, uh, they came in and they sang with their grandpa and they shared with me, uh, a photo from then and then

00:15:00 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 4:

They also shared with me a photo that they had it up at their grandpa's funeral, which I thought was pretty cool.

00:15:05 - 00:15:05 | Speaker 6:

Oh, gosh.

00:15:05 - 00:16:14 | Speaker 4:

And one of the things I really want to mention, everybody that's worked on this show, everybody that has worked on the show, and I'm not talking, I'm not saying nobody, you know, was a huge part of the history of this radio show. And in a positive way, like, listen, you were part of the show because of the history of what you brought to the airwaves and the smiles that you put on people's faces. And one of the things that did bother me was people would make comments on social media of, I don't like this person or I don't like this person or this person. I'm so happy this person's on your show because I didn't like this person. Why do people have to do that? That's the thing with social media that just drives me effing crazy. Because to be quite honest with you, there is a human being behind the person that you're saying the negative about as much as there's a human being about the person that you're saying a positive about. And, you know, I don't know, it's wild, like, to see people recall that. And it kind of makes you wonder, in a person's life, do you go in there and go, well, I like your family, but your sister's a bitch.

00:16:15 - 00:16:24 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, it's like, I've never understood that. Think that in your head, but really, like, are we putting it out there for everybody to see and how that coming is forever attached to your name?

00:16:25 - 00:16:50 | Speaker 4:

And I think that the variations of this radio show have been so interesting because when we first started, when this radio show first started, and it was me and Spike and Sarah and Chad and Eric and Barb was our producer back then, Barb Adragna, like all these people that were on the show. This radio show was 15th place. It was literally 15th place, and we were getting beat by J Towers and the New Revolution.

00:16:50 - 00:16:51 | Speaker 6:

The Morning Revolution.

00:16:51 - 00:16:51 | Speaker 4:

Yeah.

00:16:51 - 00:16:54 | Speaker 6:

And this little girl, Liam Shannon, was her intern.

00:16:54 - 00:17:56 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, in DRQ. And we were getting killed. And I would get off the air and listen to Jay's promos and go, God damn it, man. All I want to do is just have a little bit of the ratings. And I never looked poorly on any of the other people that we did radio against or that we currently do radio against. Everybody gets a little piece of the pie. I just want a bigger piece of it. But I looked at the variations of the show. every time that we put something together and did something on the air, whether it be me and Tim in the beginning, the program director then, or Dom, or now Tony, the show has always been honestly based on, we're just going to try to put people together that are different types of people that our listeners can relate to. And I think that we've done a pretty decent job of that over the years you know so hats off to everybody that was part of the 25 uh years and uh thank you to everybody that was doing it anybody that said here's to 25 more you're effing crazy

00:17:56 - 00:18:26 | Speaker 5:
