All right, it is Mojo in the morning.

00:02:56 - 00:03:09 | Speaker 6:

The funniest is I said during the dirty about how this Coldplay thing, how does it get so crazy and stuff. Now I'm being called a hypocrite because Friday morning we did the Coldplay contest here on the air.

00:03:09 - 00:03:10 | Speaker 5:

Very true.

00:03:10 - 00:03:12 | Speaker 6:

And I am. I am a hypocrite.

00:03:13 - 00:03:15 | Speaker 5:

You've had a weekend to think about it.

00:03:15 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 6:

I had a weekend to think about it, and I am a hypocrite on it. But yes, I do. But I am amazed. I am amazed that these stories become so crazy, how the Coldplay thing just got to be so nuts. Captured the world.

00:03:29 - 00:03:31 | Speaker 4:

That mascots are reenacting it.

00:03:31 - 00:03:36 | Speaker 5:

That was funny, though. I'm not going to lie. That Phillies game, they jumped on it quick. That was fun.

00:03:36 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 4:

That mojo from Mojo in the Morning is reenacting it. Did you like that, by the way? If you haven't seen our Instagram or Facebook. Did you like that? I have laughed really hard.

00:03:44 - 00:04:40 | Speaker 6:

So I, uh, and it was actually a true situation. So, so, um, this weekend I needed to get a haircut and, uh, the, uh, official hairdresser of mine, uh, I don't know if that's how she's titled. She's actually honestly has some very, very famous people that she cuts hair for. Uh, but her name is, uh, Katrina and I'm probably the least of the people that are on this list. I mean, she flies all over the world and cuts hair. Katrina was out this weekend and could not cut my hair. And I needed a haircut because we're having lunch today with the mayor of Detroit, Mayor Duggan. We're all going to lunch today. Actually, Shannon, myself, and Lydia. And I wanted to look presentable for the mayor, Mr. Mayor. You know what I mean? Because I'm hoping that I get the key to the city. He's bringing it. He's on his way out as the mayor. And I figure maybe he'll give me a key to the city and he'll give me even something more. You know what I mean? Let's see what's going on.

00:04:40 - 00:04:44 | Speaker 4:

I didn't realize that this is what this lunch was all about today. It's probably Mojo Day.

00:04:44 - 00:04:54 | Speaker 6:

I'm trying. I want to have that. So I figure, you know how some people have like one foot out the door at work and they end up stealing things from their work? I'm hoping that Mayor Duggan does that.

00:04:54 - 00:04:57 | Speaker 4:

Or they start pardoning people, you know, for the president, whatever.

00:04:57 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 6:

I would like that. So I needed a haircut.

00:05:00 - 00:05:59 | Speaker 1:

Katrina was out. I texted her and she said, love, she calls me love or something like that, or honey or whatever. We have a very affectionate relationship. And she said, I'm not available right now. And I said, okay. So I ended up calling George from Six Salon. Okay, what up, George? George is a good friend of the show, too. And Katrina works in George's salon there. She actually cuts in the Six Salon in Birmingham. And I said, George, do you have time to fit me in? So George did. He fit me in. And it was really awkward for me. And I kind of felt like that Coldplay CEO. I felt like I was getting busted. Because there is something, and I don't know, do you ever feel this way? Have you ever cheated on your hairstylist or barber, Kev, in your case? Do you ever go to somebody else and then you feel like the next time that you go back to your person, you feel like you have to try to explain yourself because they know that they gave you a haircut

00:05:59 - 00:06:36 | Speaker 2:

so long ago and your hair would look completely different right yeah no for sure shout out daryl i was in there this weekend but across from daryl is a woman named ashley and i was in the shop one night daryl went there and i'm like man who here cuts the best hair because you always wonder that too like yeah am i with the person am i going to the best person or is somebody else in here better than the person that I'm going to. And I sat down with Ashley, and it was a completely different experience. She took my jacket, hung it up. I said, where am I? I've never been treated this way before. Offered me a shot. She had candy. She was massaging my shoulders. I said, Daryl, no more. Oh, man, the massage would have done me in.

00:06:37 - 00:07:00 | Speaker 3:

I got accused of cheating on my longtime hairstylist, Kelly, one time, and I didn't. The color of my hair, I think, just changes. Like, if I go out in the sun and stuff, and she's like, who did your hair i go kelly i swear i'm literally scared of you i would never go to anybody else without telling you and i love you but she accused me of cheating falsely i i have

00:07:00 - 00:07:11 | Speaker 1:

to be honest with you kevin brings up a really interesting point because it's funny because he went from the daryl the barber to what was her name ashley to ashley and ashley does the whole

00:07:11 - 00:07:18 | Speaker 3:

thing yeah i gotta hope katrina's not listening but george just she's listening she always listens

00:07:18 - 00:08:18 | Speaker 1:

george did like up the game a little bit like he did like up like i i think i got a i got twice the shampooing i got a shampoo in the beginning and shampoo at the end he like she never did why do you need two shampoos because he wanted to get rid of the hair that was off of me then he started like doing things he textured and did all this stuff which is funny because i know that katrina does an amazing job and i love the job that she does but then i looked at george's thing i'm going oh my god he spent a little bit more time with me you like it better and it was kind of no i but i think it does look pretty good like i actually think it kind of looks like me look at me on the camera right now yeah but i kind of like was thinking and then i know he's the owner of the salon so you kind of get a little bougie he can like sit you anywhere he wants to he's like hey let's go right over here and i had like this my own little area where katrina has a couple of chairs in the back you know she's got like a like three or four chairs but i never get the one chair that's over to the side that seems like it's the you know so i i i will tell you it was very interesting like it was a very interesting experience but i i can't cheat on my katrina

00:08:18 - 00:08:25 | Speaker 3:

i love my katrina deep down inside but george are you available but george but george if there's a

00:08:25 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

way if there's a way that i can actually you know um and but i can i ask do people feel this way with other occupations or is it just hairdressers like do you ever feel this way if you go to a different i don't know say doctor or you go to a or if you go to uh i don't know a different uh nail lady

00:08:45 - 00:09:04 | Speaker 3:

nail lady is a big one right oh yeah right or sometimes my nail lady that i go to all the time shout out pd is not available and i have to go to linda who i love as well yeah but they sit right next to each other so when i come in i'm always like you weren't available even though they don't

00:09:04 - 00:09:18 | Speaker 1:

care they're like best friends when misfit victor owned lulu's yeah i would go to the coney that was down the street sometimes yes guy at the coney down the street would go oh i just saw victor the other day i'm like oh christ i'm gonna get in trouble you know this we're gonna say like

00:09:18 - 00:09:22 | Speaker 2:

from a chef perspective like they don't cook the same well if victor is in there that's the thing

00:09:22 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

too no did victor cook no well he occasionally he would run in the back there but he usually would just talk but i would tell you this that the coney down the street was definitely not as good as uh as lulu's and still not as good real quick hold on i just got a text message from katrina stop lydia i hope it's a voice memo lydia if i can't if you have i told you if you have a second block her number from us i don't know oh my god i love her so much this is crazy it was it was it was kind of uh kind of nuts i did feel like weird doing it like i felt weird because, you know, it's like the situation where you go to a...

00:10:00 - 00:10:32 | Speaker 6:

different place like you're going like to a totally different position in the salon because he's like right up towards the the front and i i saw some people i never never see like i'm looking around going oh this is like new sites yeah you know what i mean you went to a whole different salon it was it really kind of felt uh kind of felt totally different and the conversation is interesting too although george does not gossip with me like uh like katrina does katrina gives me some good you know she gives me she gives me the tea as those kids like to say what's up

00:10:32 - 00:11:09 | Speaker 4:

bolivia what's going on hey so you know i have my kids have their dentist uh it's uh really nice guy really nice city ladies and it's in southfield and it's just when i moved here from new york like somebody recommended the guy so i've been taking the kids there i live in birmingham so now i found that I like in Birmingham and I really kind of not want to drive to Southland anymore but I don't know what to do because I'm being blind there. You're trapped. Yeah, it's like I'm cheating on that. I can't even know how many years I've done. I don't know what to do now but I mean it's like two bucks from my house or 30 minutes away. What do I do?

00:11:09 - 00:11:23 | Speaker 6:

Can I be honest with you? I would go with the convenience of it and the biggest reason why the convenience of it would make more sense is when you tell them hey, it's hard for me to get over there it makes sense. mine was in the same salon. You know what I mean?

00:11:23 - 00:11:30 | Speaker 4:

I know, yeah. I mean, I feel like they're not going to care about my two little kids like I'm in there anymore, but I feel like, you know.

00:11:30 - 00:11:35 | Speaker 6:

The problem, though, is with a dentist or a doctor, you have to ask for your records, and that's a weird thing.

00:11:35 - 00:11:39 | Speaker 5:

Yep. You have to have them traced for the records. Let them do it. You don't have no contact.

00:11:40 - 00:11:51 | Speaker 6:

Yeah, I don't know. I always feel like once I stop going to a dentist or a doctor or your tax guy, that they're going to tell everybody that you're dirty or something, you know? All your secrets. Oh, my God.

00:11:52 - 00:11:54 | Speaker 3:

He doesn't even floss. Get ready.

00:11:55 - 00:11:57 | Speaker 6:

Lydia did me dirty on this one. Hello, Katrina.

00:11:59 - 00:12:02 | Speaker 3:

Hey, you cheetah. You cheetah.

00:12:02 - 00:12:03 | Speaker 4:

You cheetah.

00:12:05 - 00:12:13 | Speaker 3:

I made cheetah and posted it and CEO'd me Coldplay style the whole thing. I mean, damn. You hear him talking?

00:12:14 - 00:12:15 | Speaker 6:

I made sure, though, you were tagging him.

00:12:15 - 00:12:18 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I hear him and his fancy hair wash. But you go see what you're going to get next time.

00:12:18 - 00:12:41 | Speaker 6:

He said two shampoos. The only thing, honestly, Trina, I get great, great, like, you know, stories to bring up on the radio. Things to talk about on the air. And mints. I get mints from you. There's a bowl of mints that is right there in the waiting area there. But I don't get the two washes, which George gave me the two washes. You'll get them.

00:12:41 - 00:12:43 | Speaker 3:

You'll get two washes and a massage this time.

00:12:43 - 00:12:50 | Speaker 6:

And tell Kendall that the massage was way longer with George's girl than it is with her. So I want her to know that.

00:12:50 - 00:12:53 | Speaker 3:

Oh, I'll tell her that. We're writing notes, honey. We're writing notes for you.

00:12:53 - 00:12:58 | Speaker 6:

Well, no, I can never cheat on you. I love you too much. I'm joking.

00:12:58 - 00:13:01 | Speaker 3:

I love you guys so much. That whole skit was amazing.

00:13:02 - 00:13:16 | Speaker 6:

Hey, question for you. Does George have to call or any of the people, do they call you and say, hey, by the way, are you cool with this? Or is that how, like, if somebody listens to, like, Blaine and Lauren in the morning, I feel like they have to call us and say, hey, I switched stations.

00:13:17 - 00:13:23 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, we do it as a courtesy call. If it's somebody that's important to you, we would do it. But, you know, not in general.

00:13:23 - 00:13:27 | Speaker 5:

Have you ever walked into the salon and seen one of your clients in someone else's chair?

00:13:28 - 00:13:39 | Speaker 3:

Yes, and totally called them out and walked over and said, hey, Shelly. What's she doing? What is that like? I call everybody out.

00:13:40 - 00:13:45 | Speaker 5:

Do you internalize it and say, like, did I do something wrong? Or do you just immediately be like, Shelly's just a bitch?

00:13:45 - 00:13:49 | Speaker 3:

Oh, no, I go right to her face. Hey, Shelly. So what you doing?

00:13:51 - 00:13:55 | Speaker 6:

That is a very Shelly thing. I'll talk to you later. I love you.

00:13:55 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 3:

All right, love you guys. See you.

00:13:57 - 00:13:57 | Speaker 6:
