for more details i tried to watch some of the world cup yesterday like we had it on in our potluck that we were doing in the office potluck and it wasn't the u.s playing yet so the u.s played right after that like in the you know afternoon and i sat there and i was watching it and i thought to myself am i the only one that just doesn't get soccer like doesn't doesn't find it interesting to watch i don't get it either i mean i felt like i i feel like they owe me you know two hours of my day back it's the number one sport in the world i get it right but a lot of

us in america were raised in other sports but i but no i still my daughter played high school soccer and i still don't know the rules i watched the game i'm not talking about even just knowing

rules or anything like that i watched a one-to-one game and i watched like no nothing going on at all and then at the end of the game i'm like okay this thing ends after what 80 minutes or whatever and the game doesn't end all of a sudden they keep adding time on to the whole deal i'm like what is in the world it's kind of a sport first off counts time up and doesn't count time down that does bother me i will agree with you like give me an idea of when this thing's over with

so i know i can go take a pee right so megan you you played soccer and i did for a very long time yeah i played travel and and i i'm imagining when you talk to people it's frustrating because like i never understood hockey until i started hanging around with a bunch of guys in college that played hockey and when i finally understood the rules it became the most it went from the least exciting to the most exciting game for me where i same as soccer where you'd think one-to-one that's a boring game and you realize it's the most exciting volley but the rules of hockey and soccer are like

very similar but here's the thing hockey though is a little bit more entertaining because the ice that they play on the rink is so much smaller the field is way too big for for that actually

makes it more impressive because they're running like 10 to 15 miles a game. Megan, I don't care

about getting, being impressed. I want to be entertained. There's no entertainment. We're so

used to football with the high impact and there's always a big play happening. And it's just now

that sucker. I love football. Do not get me wrong. I am a huge football fanatic, but that sport is relatively boring for a three hour game. They only play for like five minutes. They play a couple of second plays at a time and then you wait two minutes in between plays but if you look at the the the statistics of how much of a football game is actually football play very very low

but megan there's at least hitting going on there's at least great if you watch women's soccer

they pull off their jerseys all the time so maybe you should watch really okay but here's the other

thing going to i bet it's like going to like one of those games like it's probably fun to go to a soccer game to go to one of those big world cup games because it's a whole experience and you're

Good. Yeah, I just wanted to comment. I also watched that soccer game yesterday, and I was just really disappointed with the actual video coverage. there were zero close-ups of the action all of the video coverage was very far away maybe that's it

it's it's a wide screen the whole time you'll miss so much of the big plays you have to you have to watch the whole field in football they actually have like the cameras that are tied up to ropes and things or like you know like they're like drones like maybe have drones flying above these guys heads to give me some more perspective even in premier league soccer that you watch on

the on the weekends which is the best i mean when there's action the cameras are right on the field you get to see what's happening at least you get to see the replays of what's happening but i felt that i think the players in the games that i've watched the players should wear cameras on them

like usfl players do they have to wear the you know the camera right on their helmets and stuff

the bleachers it's it's pretty intense i went to see manchester united at the big house when they visited michigan stadium and had a goodwill game in the states and it was nothing like detroit city it was just detroit city's just another level like i honestly was watching that game

yesterday going i don't get it like i love ted lasso but i have no interest in watching it like why can't why can't every soccer game be like ted lasso where it's at least exciting you know

my friend who watches soccer all time always makes joke about jokes about football because he knows i'm really into michigan football and he's like yeah the reason football players wear helmets is to stop them from kissing and i like my favorite part about your american football is how they all get together beforehand and tell secrets before the play and he's just like makes fun of how like they wear all these pads and but they stop a play every time someone gets hurt they stop for 20 minutes he's like man soccer they will abuse each other and leave the bodies on the field and just keep going away. I mean, not always. I didn't get that.

There's a lot of theatrics in soccer. That's rugby to me.
