It's Mojo in the morning. I'm here with a confession. I have to say this. I know I didn't do so well, and this is a very shameful moment for me to have to confess this. but I have already failed at dry January.

00:02:01 - 00:02:03 | Speaker 3:

I didn't even know you were doing dry January.

00:02:03 - 00:02:07 | Speaker 4:

Yeah. On our Instagram, I posted that I'm doing dry January.

00:02:08 - 00:02:13 | Speaker 3:

The last Instagram I saw of you, anything related to alcohol, was you falling over on the beach, wasted. Was that the one?

00:02:13 - 00:02:33 | Speaker 4:

That was it, yeah. I said dry January for me. That was right before the holiday. No, no, I was being serious. I was trying it. I did it, but I failed. I failed actually this weekend at it, Which makes me feel good because Friday is actually a day. What is Friday's day called again, Lydia?

00:02:33 - 00:02:35 | Speaker 1:

Oh, I put it on your... Quitter's day.

00:02:35 - 00:03:26 | Speaker 4:

Quitter's day. It's Quitter's day. It was Quitter's day on Friday, which Friday was the day that the average person quits their New Year's resolution. What was the date on Friday? Friday was the... The 9th? Yeah. 10th. 10th. Yeah. The 10th, January 10th is Quitter's Day. That's what it's called on the calendar. It's the day that everybody quits 10 days into their new year's resolution. And I would like you to shout yourself out and tell us how you have already failed your new year's resolution, because I would get quite honest with you. I felt like such a failure for about five seconds. And then I just kept on drinking. And then to be quite honest with you, I kept on drinking. And then the next day I felt like so bad, like I had the whole remorse, you know, that doesn't mean that it's you have to stop with the resolution.

00:03:26 - 00:03:28 | Speaker 3:

You just had a little hiccup and you keep going.

00:03:28 - 00:03:44 | Speaker 4:

I don't know. I don't know if I drank since then. No, I haven't. OK, but I haven't because it hasn't been a weekend yet, but I actually enjoyed it. It was actually fun. This is an interesting one at gyms across the country. Regulars or gym rats are holding their breath until the end of the January rush.

00:03:44 - 00:03:47 | Speaker 5:

Oh, March. That's when people finally quit.

00:03:47 - 00:04:30 | Speaker 4:

During the month of January, one woman says that she's lucky if she can even find parking and all the classes are booked. She says that newcomers are annoying because they don't wipe off their sweat off the machines. They don't know the etiquette of when you're next up. They also have no clue where the emergency stop button is, so they end up getting hurt. It's kind of funny that this is the case. But at gyms, many of the gyms in the area, according to one lady, this is actually one person from Canton. And she says, it's disgusting to see how many people think that they're actually going to continue on with this says, and by the way, this is Patricia who works out or Patty who works out at the planet, the planet fitness.

00:04:30 - 00:05:00 | Speaker 3:

I was going to say, okay, so I work out at the same planet fitness and last week, normally I go like when we're done with work every once in a while, I'll go in the evening. And last week was one of the times I went in the evening and this time of year, I call it club planet when i roll up at 5 30 and the parking lots just bump in with everybody going on their way home from work and it is it's packed which is great yeah but it's just very different from how it normally is where it's like comfortable but here's why i hate it here's the only reason

00:05:00 - 00:05:19 | Speaker 6:

is because all the people who started going got all new workout gear for Christmas and they all look super cute and put together and they are looking hot. And they're like, I'm ready to show up to the gym. And I like the June crew where we all show up in something that probably has holes in it or a stain. And we've been wearing the same gym t-shirt for four visits in a row. Like those are my people.

00:05:19 - 00:05:52 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. 844-MOJO-LIVE, 844-665-6548. I would also like you to call, and it doesn't have to be now, but who went the the shortest time on the resolution and what was the resolution and because i this is not even so much i don't make resolutions normally like dry january is just i'm just doing it as a month yeah um but i and lydia knows this lent i have been the worst the worst with lent i will have my this lent i'm not going to swear and then five seconds later i'm like ah

00:05:52 - 00:06:07 | Speaker 2:

Actually, I don't do resolutions either, but I did say, I was like, I am no longer going to snooze on my alarm. I hate when I snooze on my alarm because then I'm so rushed with everything I do in the morning before I come here. Today, snooze twice on my alarm for the first time this year.

00:06:08 - 00:06:09 | Speaker 1:

What's up, Katie? How you doing?

00:06:10 - 00:06:17 | Speaker 4:

Good morning. Morning. What's going on? Damp January is where it's at, Mojo. Take the pressure off. Damp January?

00:06:18 - 00:06:18 | Speaker 1:

Wait.

00:06:19 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 4:

You've never heard of this. That's so funny.

00:06:20 - 00:06:22 | Speaker 1:

No, I've never heard that one.

00:06:23 - 00:06:30 | Speaker 4:

January, you give yourself a little bit of grace. It's like, how are you actually going to stick through an extreme change? I am stealing that.

00:06:31 - 00:06:40 | Speaker 1:

That's so good. So maybe my damp January is I'll give myself one day a week in my day a week. Yeah. Like on the weekends or something like that, which is what I did on Saturday.

00:06:40 - 00:06:52 | Speaker 4:

We all know Monday. We all know that Monday's a no. Yeah. Unless you have a Monday like I did yesterday. And then the rest of the week is just like, oh, maybe, maybe not. It's a little bit less, a lot less than it is over the holidays.

00:06:53 - 00:06:56 | Speaker 1:

Yeah. Are you a resolution person? Do you do resolutions?

00:06:57 - 00:07:09 | Speaker 4:

Kind of because I've, I've been known to fail them so much. So that's why it's like, I don't do the extreme resolutions. I do attainable resolutions so that I actually do it.

00:07:09 - 00:07:12 | Speaker 1:

Okay. What is considered an attainable resolution for you?

00:07:13 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 4:

Okay. So let's say we're going to work out. We're not going to annoy all the gym rats. We're not going to like be like, I'm working out seven days a week. Because it's my New Year's resolution. No, if I was working out one day a week before, well, I'm going to up it to three days a week. Okay, that's good. That's attainable. So, you know, it's an attainable goal, even though I know I'm only going to do two.

00:07:30 - 00:07:31 | Speaker 1:

I like that.

00:07:31 - 00:07:32 | Speaker 6:

I love you.

00:07:32 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 1:

I like it.

00:07:33 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 2:

Damn January.

00:07:34 - 00:07:34 | Speaker 4:

I love you, Bill.

00:07:35 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 1:

I need Katie as a personal friend of mine.

00:07:38 - 00:07:38 | Speaker 6:

I know.

00:07:39 - 00:07:53 | Speaker 1:

Ashley, only 25% of Americans who take part in dry Januaries successfully complete the challenge of no alcohol for 31 straight days. That's amazing. So that means that three out of every four are failing at it. What's going on, Ashley?

00:07:54 - 00:07:56 | Speaker 3:

Good morning. How are you guys?

00:07:56 - 00:07:57 | Speaker 1:

Good. What's happening?

00:07:58 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 3:

I am so bummed that I just dropped my daughter at the bus stop because she would tell you this story so much better. But New Year's Day, my husband says to all of us before we leave for my daughter's soccer game, you know, my New Year's resolution is I'm not going to road rage. When you guys drive, I don't want you to have my habits. I'm done doing this. We get in the car. We go to her game. She wins. We come home. Someone cuts him off, and he starts honking his horn and swearing. My daughter's going, Dad, it hasn't even been 24 hours.

00:08:31 - 00:08:36 | Speaker 1:

That's awesome. That is great. What is his name? Shout him out right now.

00:08:38 - 00:08:40 | Speaker 3:

Good luck with the road rage, Keith.

00:08:43 - 00:08:45 | Speaker 1:

Madison, what's going on? How you doing?

00:08:47 - 00:08:55 | Speaker 5:

Hi, my New Year's resolution is still going strong. I quit pre-made and drive-thru coffees. Ooh.

00:08:56 - 00:08:57 | Speaker 1:

What? Explain that.

00:08:57 - 00:09:08 | Speaker 5:

Yeah, I always get like a big drink with like extra caramel and then add vanilla and then whipped cream and do the toppings on top. So I just didn't want the extra sugar anymore.

00:09:09 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 2:

I just did the same thing. It's so hard. So what do you have in the morning then in place of that?

00:09:14 - 00:09:20 | Speaker 5:

so i'm letting myself have i don't know if you've called or heard of um mushroom coffee

00:09:20 - 00:09:26 | Speaker 1:

oh yeah mushroom coffee that's really good for you like shrooms yeah well not that kind of

00:09:26 - 00:09:34 | Speaker 2:

but it's mushroom blended different types of mushrooms yeah okay all right i like that

00:09:34 - 00:09:39 | Speaker 1:

little coffee for the head so to speak on channel nine five five

00:09:39 - 00:09:43 | Speaker 3:

That's what I would do if I was a DJ.

00:09:44 - 00:09:48 | Speaker 1:

If I was a DJ, I would have said, all right, well, here you go. Here's your song, Coffee for Your Head.

00:09:48 - 00:09:49 | Speaker 6:

I went to Celsius's.

00:09:50 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 1:

Celsius's are worse, Megan.

00:09:52 - 00:09:52 | Speaker 6:

Why?

00:09:53 - 00:10:00 | Speaker 1:

Because, first off, I looked at the, I looked at, I went and Googled Celsius versus Red Bull. And there was not.

00:10:00 - 00:10:04 | Speaker 8:

as much of a difference one of them is 160 calories and one is 10 so there's something

00:10:04 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 6:

that's different i'm guessing it's the amount of sugar it's all fake stuff you might as well

00:10:08 - 00:10:50 | Speaker 8:

have the sugar the real sugar is better for you than fake sugar this is oh my god can i tell you every time you do a new year's resolution and somebody goes that's not what you should be doing it that makes me want to rage more than anything in the entire world it's the same as how did you lose the weight megan no matter what i say you're going to tell me i did it the wrong way no matter what if i say what's in the gym you were probably working out too much and not eating enough i tell you what i was eating that doesn't seem like it was enough protein there's just no winning with people not me actively trying to take out sugar in my life and being people being like you should have the sugar it's better than chemicals everything is going to kill us enjoy life a

00:10:50 - 00:10:56 | Speaker 7:

little bit but celsius's are so bad yeah they're really bad for you seriously kimberly you're You're rotting your insides.

00:10:56 - 00:10:57 | Speaker 8:

No winning.

00:10:57 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 6:

Kimberly, what's going on?

00:10:59 - 00:11:00 | Speaker 8:

Good morning.

00:11:00 - 00:11:03 | Speaker 6:

Good morning. You got to follow that, by the way, Kimberly.

00:11:03 - 00:11:20 | Speaker 1:

It's a morning, Kim. So the key to not bringing resolution is to have a fun resolution. Ooh, okay. Mine is I'm getting a monthly massage, and I'm going to start baking at least one recipe from scratch every month. I love that.

00:11:20 - 00:11:24 | Speaker 7:

Those are good ones. Really. And massages, by the way, I mean, self-care.

00:11:24 - 00:11:25 | Speaker 6:

Seriously. Good for you.

00:11:25 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 7:

Is that the right kind of self-care?

00:11:26 - 00:11:32 | Speaker 6:

You can't call that a resolution, though. Isn't a resolution something where you're supposed to make it hard on yourself or no?

00:11:32 - 00:11:36 | Speaker 7:

No, it's just to better your life. And those two things, I would say, better her life.

00:11:37 - 00:11:48 | Speaker 6:

All right, I'm doing that. I'm going to eat chocolate. I'm going to treat myself. That's what I'm going to do in honor of Kimberly Herr. Thank you, Kimberly. Love you, guys. Love you, too. Thank you.

00:11:49 - 00:12:17 | Speaker 5:
