All right, it is Mojo in the morning. I did something yesterday in the afternoon that was very interesting. And I'll share with you guys this and tell me if you think I was crazy for doing it. So by my house, there is a gas station. And so I was filling up my gas. and while I was filling up my gas and I kind of sit there there's a couple things I like to do when I'm filling up my gas number one I usually will check my text messages and things like that which I know people say you should never do by the thing or number two I watch Jerry Millen's greenhouse commercials for the weed shop on gas station because they are so creative Jerry by the way used to work here and it's funny because his stuff is like so damn creative I'll sit there and go that is a very funny commercial like hey you with a nice car you know what's that they play

00:02:56 - 00:03:02 | Speaker 3:

weed commercials at your gas all the time yeah the weed shop that's by us that's what you guys

00:03:02 - 00:04:59 | Speaker 5:

need in ohio you guys need to get this thing passed so that you guys can have the fun of of all that going on so i'm filling my tank and all of a sudden i hear i say here hey excuse me and i turn and look and that's by the way the craziest thing to have somebody come up and walk up to you you know you kind of get alerted by that and I turn and look and it's this very cute looking guy um when I would say young guy like he looked like he was so he looked like honestly like he could be like one of my sons okay or he looked like he could have been the kid from the five at 655 that's been playing with us Aiden like he was one of those kind of kids like this is cute little guy and I said I said yes I don't want someone to say yes son um and he goes hey could you give me a ride to kroger and he had his kroger like outfit on it you know yeah his uniform on he had like kroger shirt and stuff and i said uh yeah and and he goes yeah he goes i apologize he goes yeah i was gonna have to walk there but i'll never make it by my shift and it's like three miles from where this gas station is because i'm far because i'm yeah it's pretty good distance away and there's no way to walk listen if he's gonna walk that there's no way he's making a shift because of he told me what time his shift was so i said uh hop in i pull the thing out of my car pop it in there i get in the car and i start driving well that just then my phone rings and it's my wife on the phone so i pick up i go hey chelsea um say hi to what's your name and the kid and the kid goes uh brett i go oh hey say hi to brett who's brett like i go there's a kid i just met him at the shell station i'm giving him a ride to kroger chelsea's like you what and she's like and i go just everything's okay don't worry about it so i'm driving and whatever and I've got Chelsea on the phone, and she's kind of like small talking with me and won't tell me why she's calling at all. Right. We pull up into the Kroger over in Union Lake, over off of Commerce Road in Union Lake Road, and we pull right up to the front, and I go, hey, have a great day.

00:05:00 - 00:05:53 | Speaker 3:

work i'll talk to you later and he's like thank you so much we'll see you later it's like i was saying goodbye to my kid door slams chelsea's like what the hell are you doing and i said what are you talking about and she goes you're giving a stranger a ride like you understand that we're like living in crazy times right now where there's people getting carjacked and stuff like that and i said to her i go chelsea if you only saw this kid i'm not kidding you this kid was like so sweet and so nice i didn't know what was going on so i i asked you uh shannon and megan and mike and lydia kp you know everybody that's here am i crazy did she said i picked up a hitchhiker i said he really wasn't a hitchhiker oh he was right right he was like i think of a hitchhiker i think of like like a big burly guy with you know like long hair and kind of looks like he's gonna

00:05:53 - 00:06:11 | Speaker 1:

I feel bad saying this, but I think that if I were in that situation, I would do kind of what you did and judge. Like, okay, this kid, he's a cute kid wearing his Kroger uniform. I can help him out. He doesn't have, you know, a knife in his pocket. He's not going to chop me up into a million little pieces. But maybe not the smartest.

00:06:11 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 2:

I felt extremely safe.

00:06:13 - 00:06:13 | Speaker 1:

Yeah.

00:06:13 - 00:06:20 | Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I feel like when you hear all those stories of people that chop people up into little pieces, it's never like, oh, I looked at him and he looked like he was going to chop me up into little pieces. Very true, Mike. Very true.

00:06:20 - 00:07:13 | Speaker 3:

It's always a guy you never think is going to do with. Chelsea said to me, she goes, not everybody looks the same way that you think it is. And then she goes, and it could have been like that Idaho school guy or whatever it was, like the case or whatever. And I thought to myself, oh, my God, Chelsea's watching a little bit of TV. But then I thought to myself, I'm like, well, I don't even know what that guy looks like. I looked him up online and I go, I kind of resemble each other a little bit. Then she said, what would you have done? this because this is always the one that gets you all the time right what would you have done if i did that and then i was like all right you got me on that because whenever they do the whole what would you have done if i did that thing the rules were reversed or what would you have done if like you know luke or you know joe or jacob did that that's just such a very you thing though

00:07:13 - 00:07:14 | Speaker 1:

with this whole story.

00:07:14 - 00:07:19 | Speaker 3:

Ron? Yes. Ron, what's going on? It's Mojo in the Morning.

00:07:20 - 00:07:24 | Speaker 4:

Okay, good. I think you spoke on this topic before.

00:07:24 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 3:

About picking up hitchhikers?

00:07:26 - 00:07:26 | Speaker 4:

Yes.

00:07:26 - 00:07:29 | Speaker 3:

What was my take on it back then? What did I say?

00:07:31 - 00:07:33 | Speaker 4:

You're a good guy, so probably do it.

00:07:34 - 00:07:41 | Speaker 3:

Because Chelsea claims that I said one time, never pick up a hitchhiker, but I don't ever remember talking about it in the air, but what's going on?

00:07:41 - 00:08:05 | Speaker 4:

I always go out of my way to do nice stuff I picked up these people On the side of the road And it was They had like broke down And then like I always clean my car every week At the end of the week When I clean my car I think I found crack or meth pipe Bad idea

00:08:05 - 00:08:09 | Speaker 3:

By the way Why did this guy get through

00:08:09 - 00:08:11 | Speaker 4:

I'm on drugs

00:08:11 - 00:08:28 | Speaker 3:

No, no, no, no Can I be honest with you? It's great, but now my wife's going to claim That this kid has meth or something But Ron You sound like the nicest Human being in the world

00:08:28 - 00:08:39 | Speaker 4:

Listen, I am nice When I'm at Walmart And I feel like old people I will help them out to the parking lot And load their groceries in their car

00:08:39 - 00:08:41 | Speaker 3:

That's so sweet

00:08:41 - 00:08:42 | Speaker 4:

I give back to the community. What can I say?

00:08:42 - 00:08:49 | Speaker 3:

Ron, I have to ask you a very important question. What did you do with the meth pipe that you got in the backseat of your car?

00:08:50 - 00:08:58 | Speaker 4:

I put it to the trash, and then I told my kids' mom, and she always says that I'm stupid and I get too involved in helping people.

00:08:58 - 00:08:59 | Speaker 3:

Oh, she's a meanie weenie.

00:08:59 - 00:09:05 | Speaker 1:

See, if you were truly nice, you would have tracked him down and gave him his pipe down. Yeah, that's true. Bad idea.

00:09:05 - 00:09:14 | Speaker 4:

I don't know, you can't trust nobody

00:09:14 - 00:09:21 | Speaker 3:

God love you, Ron Happy Friday Call us more often, Ron You might be my favorite caller

00:09:21 - 00:09:24 | Speaker 4:

Listen, I could be a misfit Misfit Ron

00:09:24 - 00:09:25 | Speaker 3:

Let's put misfit Ron

00:09:25 - 00:09:29 | Speaker 4:

I could comment some weird stuff

00:09:29 - 00:09:37 | Speaker 3:

Hey, Lydia, get Ron This is misfit Ron, alright We're getting him on, misfits Hold on one second, you're great I love that guy. What's up, Bob?

00:09:38 - 00:09:40 | Speaker 4:

How you doing, Mojo?

00:09:40 - 00:09:44 | Speaker 3:

I'm good. I think we might have just had the best call that we'll have all day, but what's going on?

00:09:45 - 00:09:53 | Speaker 4:

I picked up a homeless girl. I found her at Sunoco, and I took her home and fed her and let her shower at my house for a week.

00:09:54 - 00:09:58 | Speaker 3:

For a week? No, I'm wrong, Mike. I feel like there's more to this story.

00:09:58 - 00:09:59 | Speaker 1:

No, there's more to this.

00:10:00 - 00:10:03 | Speaker 4:

We know what's going on here. I did not touch her.

00:10:04 - 00:10:08 | Speaker 6:

You let her stay with you for a week? That wasn't the first question, but okay.

00:10:09 - 00:10:12 | Speaker 4:

What was the first question? Yeah, but the fact that he brought it up is sus.

00:10:12 - 00:10:15 | Speaker 6:

Yes. Do you know Ron?

00:10:19 - 00:10:21 | Speaker 4:

This is 412 Ron.

00:10:22 - 00:10:24 | Speaker 6:

No, you're 412 what?

00:10:25 - 00:10:25 | Speaker 4:

Ron.

00:10:26 - 00:10:27 | Speaker 6:

It says Bob up here.

00:10:27 - 00:10:35 | Speaker 4:

Oh. I tried telling him. She literally had told me that because there was another Ron.

00:10:36 - 00:10:43 | Speaker 6:

Oh, my God. No, I feel like he's lying about his name. No, there's something with guys named Ron. Was it Ron or Bob?

00:10:43 - 00:10:44 | Speaker 3:

What are we getting with?

00:10:44 - 00:10:55 | Speaker 6:

No, his name is Ron, but he said Bob because we already had a Ron on the phone. So you are, here's the deal. That last guy was Ron. You're Ron 2.0. Okay?

00:10:56 - 00:10:58 | Speaker 4:

Yeah, 412 Ron.

00:10:58 - 00:11:21 | Speaker 6:

All right, so you guys are not from the same area. So hold on one second, okay? Well, that's great. All right. Unbelievable. Which guy, by the way, is the creepier of the guys? The guy that, I think 2.0, right? Because Ron was just a nice guy. Yeah. Ron was just nice. He's a little meth-y, but still, he was nice.

00:11:22 - 00:11:26 | Speaker 3:

Yeah, but Ron 2.0 said I didn't touch her was immediately sucks. Yes.

00:11:26 - 00:11:29 | Speaker 6:

Kim, what's going on? It's Mojo in the morning.

00:11:30 - 00:11:53 | Speaker 2:

Hi, guys. Love you guys. I'll see you every morning. Oh, thank you. I love you back. I wanted to tell you, Mojo, please don't pick up strangers. Yeah. Because, okay, so in Jackson, not too long ago, and you probably can look this story up. It was a 17-year-old. He was driving to pick up. He picked up, I think, a 12- and a 13-year-old, and they killed him.

00:11:54 - 00:11:55 | Speaker 3:

Oh, geez.

00:11:55 - 00:12:09 | Speaker 2:

It was during the time we were having the storm, the bad storm, and I think it was a black, they didn't have power in Jackson, and he caught himself helping them out.

00:12:10 - 00:12:21 | Speaker 6:

But here's the thing, though, Kim. To be fair, it's Jackson. They have signs up saying that there's a prison right there and not to pick up hitchhikers. You should not be doing that.

00:12:21 - 00:12:22 | Speaker 2:

But now it was 12 and 13.

00:12:23 - 00:12:24 | Speaker 6:

Yes.

00:12:24 - 00:12:26 | Speaker 2:

They were 12 and 13

00:12:26 - 00:12:27 | Speaker 6:

That's crazy

00:12:27 - 00:12:38 | Speaker 2:

I thought he was doing a good job I'm going to help these little kids out Get out of the storm And they killed them I'm with your wife

00:12:38 - 00:12:51 | Speaker 6:

Which one did you like more? Ron or Ron 2.0 Ron Ron was good He was nice Carol, what's happening? Last call here, Carol I got to move on What's going on?

00:12:52 - 00:14:01 | Speaker 3:

Okay, well first I want to know It was Ron 2.0 picking up a hitchhiker to kidnap a woman for a week. Yeah, that story's making me nervous. I was at the corner of Maple and Orchard driving towards Birmingham, and I saw a woman standing at the side of the road waiting for a bus, and it was pouring rain, and I thought to myself, oh, that poor thing. And in my rearview mirror, the bus is literally behind me, so I'm thrilled she's going to get a ride. I watch as the bus passes this woman, doesn't pick her up. I turn my car around, and I pull up to the side of the road. She's Albanian. She doesn't speak much English, and I try to tell her, you can trust me. I'm a mom. I have two kids. You know, get in my car. I'll take you home. I called the woman I worked with to translate to tell her she'd be safe if she got in my car. I would drive her to the next bus station. So the next bus station, she tells me, is at Maple and Telegraph. But when she gets to the corner, it doesn't look familiar. So she thinks it's Maple and Woodward. Okay, we go to Maple and Woodward. Maybe it's Aiton Woodward. She's not sure. I called my friend. I said, I don't know where I'm supposed to drop this woman off. She says, well, she'll tell you where she lives. Eastland Mall.

00:14:01 - 00:14:05 | Speaker 6:

Oh, jeez. For those who don't know, that was a...

00:14:05 - 00:14:11 | Speaker 3:

She didn't know. Yeah. I took her door to door. Took me about 40 minutes. Basically, you know what you were, Carol?

00:14:11 - 00:14:13 | Speaker 6:

You were an Uber.

00:14:13 - 00:14:15 | Speaker 3:

I was an Uber.

00:14:15 - 00:14:26 | Speaker 6:
