it's mojo in the morning here's my uh question right now and i'm going to ask this as a a little open forum talk topic have you ever had a family member screw you if so i want to hear from you. Cause I had a thing happen to me that I just found out about, about a family member that actually tried to like rob me, tried to try to steal my credit card. So the story is, and I got to not say names cause of my sisters will kill me on this one. I had to cancel my credit cards because I had a one credit card specifically because I kept seeing charges appear on it i didn't understand what the hell the charges were and sometimes you do you know order something from somewhere and it's a different uh company or something so i didn't know what it was like the name shows up different the name shows up yeah well a few months back we have a family member that is a cousin of ours that was doing some artwork and doing some like different things you know making things with their you know with art and my sisters all said And my sisters all came together and told, you know, me and my brother Tony and my brother Bill, hey, it'd be really nice if you supported them. You know, maybe buy something from them. So I'm like, okay, no problem. I'll buy something from them. And I'm like, all right, what's the cheapest thing they got?

You are so nice, by the way.

Well, Tony's way nicer because I think Tony ended up buying more, but I'm sucker on my face. So I bought it from him. It didn't cost much. Okay. It was a few hundred dollars, like five, six hundred dollars. Okay. So I guess it's more than a few. Yeah. and got it and it's there and it's nice okay you hate it well I hate it because of the situation even more then I started noticing that there was charges that were on my card and I didn't know what it was but I thought it was me because I'm like going okay I could see myself I bought this and I had to go back and look at things I've ordered online and what I had my my card attached to and then finally I just said screw it I'm going to cancel my credit card which by the way is a great thing to do if you've never done this before cancel your credit cards every now and again call your bank and tell them you need a new credit card number because then you'll find out what services you've had your card attached to that you don't need i had to cancel mine because i

finally changed my last name on all my bank stuff and i am blown away i'm i'm your dave ramsey on

What I found out was that my cousin was using my credit card without my permission to buy things and buy things in a big way of like $1,100 worth of stuff.

What was he buying?

I don't even know, but I don't know. But it was all coming out that the bank ended up having to go and do fraud on this.

It is one thing to scam people, strangers. It is another thing to scam your own family.

extended family extended family member did okay oh my god wait who was this like when you say extended family was it my situation was like cousin or was it somebody it was his brother-in-law's brother his brother-in-law's brother so basically like an in-law yeah like that's crazy and the guy guy ended up hiring a prostitute that ended up can you imagine if it wasn't that case where it Now you know twofold. The guy's hiring prostitutes, and he's a thief. Karma's a bitch. Rochelle, who do you think it was that was putting charges on the account here?

I don't think it was grandma. grandma has like life insurance policies on all of the grandkids and like great grandkids she buys them when we're like super young because they're super cheap yeah and she just makes monthly payments so that when she said i think it was insurances that's what she was thinking

wait a second so grandmama buys life insurance on you so if you die she's rich yeah wow all the grandkids wow that's you know what i'll have a conversation with her later what's up patty how you doing hey i'm good how are you guys good we're talking about how did family screw you

i actually had a family member that bought a house and a car in my name and i literally had to take them to court a house in a car a house and a car how were they able to do that because you need like specific information well my sister had stolen okay so my there's a big long story behind it she was going through a lot had a substance abuse problem stole my birth certificate my driver's license my office oh my god that's brutal went into this car dealership purchased the car to begin with had the money from the down payment don't know where she got that from hate to even try and think where she got it from then after that six months later because she was making the payments on this vehicle went in to purchase the house with that no money down thing first time buyer whole buyer thing it's in my name i literally just got the house in the car taking care of and just found out she's got sixteen thousand dollars in credit cards that

are in my name as well it's horrible and it's probably a nicer car than what you're driving

um well it was when the car dealership found out this car actually belonged to me They asked me if I wanted it, and of course I did. Yeah.

So now you're driving. I mean, you've been paying for it. Exactly. You might as well get to drive. Carly, who was the family member that robbed you?

So that was my mother-in-law.

Yeah, so what happened was her father passed away, and he left everything to her. She's the only child, and he was well-off, and the house had paid off, so now she's well-off. and she offered to sell us the house and then we were also going to be able to put money into it to remodel it to make it like a real home. Well, she hired the person and we would talk to the guy that was helping us remodel it but then we'd talk to them and then she would talk to them later and then it would be like stuff that would hike up the price and we found out about it and it got too bad and we just pulled out the whole thing.

But then how did you find out if you didn't give it to him that he was not telling the truth, that he was going to actually give you money?

Because you don't need a social security beneficiary.
